Ning Shu had dropped dead. But in a burst of good fortune, she became a task-taker in charge of counterattacking for the pitiful cannon fodders. Thus, Ning Shu, in one world after another, took all kinds of life roles and encountered all kinds of “you’re heartless, you’re ruthless, you’re making trouble for no reason” people. She encountered all sorts of white lotus flowers, green tea b*tches, scheming b*tches, by the batch.

“Does any true beauty still exist in the world?!” Bellowed Ning Shu angrily. “You annoying tr*sh! I’m just here to counterattack, please don’t get in the way of me completing my task.” Transmigration main character, reincarnation main character. There’s only a lazy task-taker, no indestructible main character halo. Ning Shu had no choice, but to painfully gather moral integrity in each of the worlds.

I believe this is one with "slow burn" and I hope her ML (I believe is Doctor sama) will notice her soon. I like the planes and the MC, but sometimes the role she has to play can be annoyin. There are great quests with epic face slaps, but there are ones with really idiotic side characters that I can't-- Anyway, it's good to wait and pile up chapters for a better read.

P.S. Someone said this novel is very long. I am thankful for translations and if I have to... more>> grow old with many translated novels, so be it. Ning Shu deserves my support. <<less

I hate that this novel is being underestimated just because it does not have romance. However, Ning Shu as a task taker is way more professional and better than any other because she always thinks in the original host's best interest plus it make more sense that after completing the task the original host comes back and enjoy his/her life. The thoughts and opinions that ning ahí mentioned I different world are unique and can be applied in real life. To me is the greatest transmigration novel I've ever read... more>> (and I've read a lot) <<less

This novel is pretty great. Obviously written for women but entertaining enough for guys to enjoy as well. The MC counterattacks for people who offer up parts of their soul for a better ending. The MC is rather pragmatic but generally refuses to use seduction to carry out her missions preferring martial arts and planning. I also like the way she often handles the FLs in that rather than directly targeting them she often just insulates herself from their actions before letting them self destruct. In the spirit of the... more>> novel I'll counter attack some of the complaints I've seen in other reviews. One, the MC being bullied. The MC can die. She's not going to go at it with someone who can kill her whenever they want. She's not trying to get smacked to death. Thus she's cautious in the beginning missions. This is not always how the MC acts and she's less likely to do so as the story progresses as she learns how to defend herself. Two, glossed over r*pe and dubcon? How much detail is actually needed? It's mentioned and the MC usually throws out her opinion of the relationship. The guy being good looking excusing it never really happens. It happening to the FL doesn't automatically means she deserves it. The story is referencing tropes in the genre not saying they deserved it. The FL might overlook it but they're usually considered off in the first place. The MC for example might comment that they're in some messed up S&M relationship like 50 shades of Grey. Often it's mentioned in this story how even the super handsome guys are depraved. Thus the story mentioning them being good looking means nothing and isn't the story giving their behavior a pass. Three, FL not deserving what happens to them. I for the most part actually agree with some of this. Sometimes I think the MC is doing too much. This is only really in two stories so far. The actress story mentioned, because while she has a bad personality, since the MC goes back in time, she hasn't actually done anything yet to deserve what happens to her. Even in the original timeline it's mostly the ML. Still the worst things that happen to her are by her own doing imo. The other is the blackmailed FL who falls for the rapist. It's actually pointed out by a character in the story he doubts she'd have agreed to the blackmail if he wasn't rich and handsome. Anyway I think the MC goes too far towards the end when she kicks the family while they're down. FL isn't really evil so much as dangerously s*upid and the kid didn't do anything. The ML is evil but at this point he's completely beaten and her having his pinky cut off for his debts is unnecessary and only fuels their poverty and his abusive behavior towards the FL. It's just depressing at that point. As for the country girl mentioned she'd be an example of the MC letting her self destruct. The MC only targets her when she harasses the MC by going to her house and spouting nonsense at her. The MC is a princess and needs to maintain her image. That being said the MC has a job and dies if she doesn't complete it. It doesn't really matter who is right or wrong at the end of the day as long as it doesn't cross her bottom line. <<less

This novel has a unique taste. The best part I feel about the novel is that the MC to help people without talking their bodies. And the victim she helps are able to continue their life. Usually in Transmigration novel the Protagonist takes the body of the victim and help the victim but protagonist usually use that identity to live the rest of her/his life in that body. The victim is already dead. So this novel concept is refreshing.

I really like the way the MC depends on herself... more>> without any help of male lead and overcomes all difficulties. I just love the MC so muchhhh...!!!! She is epic. She does not uses cheats like charms and she does not play around with people emotions like love. She knows the value of emotions.

I don't know if their is any romance or not but who cares she is an in epic adventure and I just love her avdventures...!!!! <<less

Reading this makes me want to die, seriously. It is beyond pessimistic- everybody are a**holes towards her including the classmates, her parents, OP MC, her love interest, the system, etc. There's no decent people at all. Everybody is like copy and paste "isekai impressionable a**hole" tropes that you see in many C-novels and manhua.

The story is either attempting to be a pity party for the MC or have the same effect on readers like a tragedy (heartache, sorrow, etc) but fails because there is barely any good things happening to... more>> the MC. It instead barrages the reader with negative event after another. I can handle a few depressing chapters, but the situation for the MC has barely changed where I am now (ch27). And there is no special meaning/theme to all the negativity; her classmates is toxic to her because she ratted the the FL, and the domino effect comes in and everyone else treats her horribly because she's vulnerable.

tldr: emotionally draining read <<less

I really liked the first few arcs and the novel is definitely written well. I just feel like the protagonist in each arc is portrayed wrong. They're always incredibly greedy and s*upid. The MC is supposed to be cold but she was more just lucky. Someone always ended up helping her or she'll find a way to cultivate the body she was in and beat everyone up. That kind of MC is great for some stories but not really what I was looking for in this one.

I like this. She knows how to get revenge properly unlike in other novels *ehem*. Satisfying to read, tho if I were you I would just skim on the first arc. I also like that she's not suddenly op but gradually learning to be strong.

I love this series, and though there isn't any romance that I can see. Unlike most female protagonists that use a system, she actually tries to do her job in a rather straightforward manner. I quite enjoy laughing at the romance ships to get wrecked, but at the same time, she doesn't leave you disgusted. She maintains her humanity and pride as human rather than becoming so cold, twisted female MC.

why I like it:

Spoiler

likable main character/relatable character.

i know what Main character is thinking,

Main character is not arrogant but gets annoyed by nonsense but still keeps up a profile to avoid immediate problem. Priority on the task.

Main character isn't smart or leaning heavily on scheme, but solve problem with simple idea or brute force mostly.

main character can feels something is wrong, and sad about other people misfortune.

no husband/wife stealing/no forced romance plot or immediate romance.

friendship/both gender fall in love with main character.

Each arc leaning heavily on different genre, adventure and comedy so on. But MC mostly falls into a world where the character need help them to get a better life.

while transmigration different people and world, MC gets to meet them again in a different world as a different person.

[collapse]

what I dont like:

Spoiler

each arc has a ending, but not every arc has a after story.

most of the story is good, but the ending isn't good enough or satisfying.

one of my favorite arc cultivation gender bender ended too fast.

some or most of the arc has a bit disgusting/disturbing tragedy which is hard to take in. But the story still good.

i dont know about this, but the AI is deleting MC memory or author forgot to write it. Nothing important is deleted yet but its kinda annoying.

I just honestly found it dull. People have compared it to various other qt stories such as FOD, but I'm not getting the whole vibe thing. I tried to trudge through the story four times so far, but it failed to keep me interested since like the first arc. I was disappointed because I expected quality like FOD, but it didn't meet my expectations. The translation is good, but the plot is just meh.

I adore this story so much. Here is why

  1. Unlike other QT's stories, this one doesn't revolve around romance.
  2. Set story line about systems, their existence and the reason for the souls transmigration which most stories miss.
  3. Ning Shu is not OP, and you will travel along with her in her quest to become stronger and a better person.
  4. There is no hypocrisy in her actions. She is what she is and there is no side stepping her morals to achieve the success.
  5. I've always read the phrase "so angry I'm about to cough up blood" in c-novels and thought it was so exaggerated, but let me tell you, some stories really really make me want to cough up blood. Now this is not a good thing, but it shows how strong the author can make people feel things (even while MTLing lmao).
  6. There is a undercurrent of so many sub plots and I'm so eager to touch all those. Just imagining how so many characters might (might not) collide in the future makes me so excited.
Anyways, people with low blood pressure, I suggest skipping first arc, it adds almost nothing to entire plot and will only make readers mad. Just to be on the safe side know this ... more>>

there is ice block, no-emotion character called doctor Uncle who helps out MC in this first arc, although involuntarily. Just remember his name, that shud do.

, I strongly suspect the system to be sketchy and stealing our MCs points. Im not sure, just speculating, but it still add more suspense for me.

Although the novel has a terrible start, it goes get better as it continues.

I believe that nearly everyone will agree that the first arc wasn't that great. The story doesn't start picking up until around chapter 50.

If you'd like to skip over the shittier parts of the first arcs, I would recommend reading the first 6 chapters, then skipping to 50. Here's a rough summary of important events in between from what I can recall.

Spoiler

When Ning Shu returns home the first day, her family tell her that they will disown her (and they make a public announcement the next day). They give her some money, and Ning Shu buys an apartment. Ning Shu worries about how weak she is compared to Ling Xue and begins taking martial arts classes.

One day, Ning Shu sees Ling Xue going somewhere and follows her, seeing Ling Xue taking the lifeforce of a man. She hurriedly returns home, afraid that Ling Xue will notice her. (Ling Xue noticed her presence but did not find her.) Upon arriving home, she finds the school doctor in her apartment. Except he's bleeding. Also he has a gun. The school doctor makes Ning Shu treat her wounds. While he is unconscious, Ning Shu takes his gun, hoping to keep it for herself, but when the school doctor wakes up, he makes her give it back.

Later, the school doctor gives her a small gun. At the request of Ling Xue, Lin Jiajia's crush Leng Ao invites Ning Shu to his birthday party. Ning Shu falls into a situation where she is alone with Ling Xue, eventually escalating to where Ning Shu is shooting Ling Xue. Ling Xue needs to keep her barrier up to protect herself from bullets, so she cannot move. Eventually, Ling Xue exhausts her spiritual energy and gets shot by Ning Shu.

Ling Xue runs away, Ning Shu chasing after her. Ling Xue's ML's car appears and takes Ling Xue away. The school doctor appears and brings Ning Shu along with him to chase after Ling Xue. There is a scene where Ling Xue and her ML are f*cking, allowing Ling Xue to recover her energy.

Eventually, the four encounter each other. Ling Xue's ML and Ning Shu each have a gun while the school doctor has a ticking time bomb. Ning Shu gets everyone to drop their weapons, but the school doctor sets of his bomb. Ning Shu and the school doctor are able to escape the explosion unscathed, but Ling Xue becomes injured.

Ning Shu, extremely scared of Ling Xue, begins living at school (though this may have occurred earlier; idr). Having lost her gun, she is scared of how defenseless she is and eventually gets help from the school doctor, who gives her a card with an address. She goes to the address to find a grocery store. The owner attempts to send her away until she shows him the card. Apparently, there's an underground shooting range. The school doctor is known as Psycho, and the frequenters are all rather scared of him. Ning Shu uses this to her advantage to get their help (because they believe that if something does not go well with her, they may get in trouble with Psycho). Ning Shu begins to learn how to shoot and begins living at the shooting range. At first, she is terrible. Then, she is less terrible but still terrible, only being able to hit the target (not the bullseye, just the target). Eventually, Ning Shu returns to school, and that's around the point where chapter 50 is IIRC.

[collapse]

What's somewhat annoying about the beginning few arcs is that Ning Shu often criticizes the characters in the original story in her thoughts, but never expresses those inner thoughts. I think that it would have been more interesting if she actually said them out loud because when they're just inner thoughts, it feels like it doesn't do anything to help Ning Shu's case.

Another small annoyance is that the afterstories of the worlds Ning Shu go to, if there is one, do not appear directly after the arc. Instead, they are a few chapters after the start of the next arc.

I personally like that this novel has no ML for Ning Shu (as of yet). Therefore, the story doesn't revolve into "okay, let's go into other worlds to find hubby~" and is actually a story about counterattacks. <<less

Honestly this is one of the better books in the counter attack genre and I say that with 100% confidence.

For one there is no romance. (Which sorry to Side character transmigration and Shi sheng is still my wife and I'm not even going to mention the other quick transmigration book cause its just shameful, she doesn't actually do anything except kill time until Op MC appears. her vs of counter attack is to out 'Mary sue' the original FL of what ever world she went to)

IMO Romance really... more>> detracts from the main purpose of their transmigration in the first place which is to get back at all the Mary and Gary sues. Like in the end the main purpose of these counter attacks is to make the lives of the people who's bodies they took over better right? not just throw a couple of lightning balls and end the world. (Again I love you shi sheng but like... you kinda suck at your job)

Two, Honestly you'll never be able to read another Mary or Gary sue book after you've read this. It REALLY takes you out of their halo's to see how shallow and ridiculous they are. As I kept reading this novel I found myself slowly but surely dropping all of those " tr*sh second miss takes revenge with her epic dragon pet!" and "keeping a fox consort" and all of those things.

People say that the characters in these things are pretty one dimensional but honestly I think that's one of the charms of it. Because if you read any of the original novels these characters are based off of you'll realize that they aren't much better than the way they are shown here, its just without the MC halo blinding you from how ridiculous they are being.

Some of the Arc's are pretty difficult to read, mainly because of how far Ning shu has to go to get a revenge and how ridiculous it gets and some arcs are DEFINITELY better than the others. And one of the last things I really enjoy about this novel is that we get to see most of the people she replaced come back into their world and live out the life she bettered for them, its not just that she comes in to cause chaos and we never see the original owners of the body she took over.

And speaking of the MC herself. she is brutal and does change her mind and opinion often depending on which world she is in but remember that she is human and she is constantly strained past her limits in order to deal with these different worlds. She hasn't even done anything that would make you rage quit the book but she had made some bad choices but its always resolved by the end of the arc and she rarely (if ever) repeats the same mistake.

But would I recommend this to anyone?

100%

it really puts things in perspective and makes you really appreciate those novels out there that actually write well. Not to mention that the translation quality is amazing, (sometimes even too amazing during the hard to read parts). And the author really doesn't pull any punches so go into it with a steeled mind.

But anyways, great novel and I hope any of the less than positive reviews that came in expecting a "Oh Ill just cause some minor inconveniences for the others until the ML shows up and takes over my job" don't deter you from at least trying this out. :)

This novel hovers around 3.5-4. Like a typical fast wear some are hits, some miss.

I've read six worlds and I only enjoyed two. First one was an ancient era, very well thought-out, that the original and revised life made a stark contrast that you can't help but love a hateful character, intruiging. Another one was an ancient era too, the characters were very well done, it comes of as twisted. There's also one world worth remembering, not because of the story but because of a character, or two. One have... more>> undergone a character growth that made her so endearing and the other one was just plain enigmatic that the arc ended and I still don't know what he meant by "same eyes as my wife". There's also a world she visited, an ero-world, that made me want to bust my brain cells. I dreaded reading it when it updated BUT the simple, almost s*upid ending made it satisfactory... in a morbid way.

Some of the story itself is kinda over the top with those tragic original life, but that's MC's job. To save the damned souls, to help them, that's why she was there. To avenge wronged people. The novel isn't that good but some arc/characters leaves a deep impression. <<less

This novel is great. The MC is really adorable.

True, the first world is bullying the brain but the second gave us a good revenge... but the third is worse that the first. I almost gauged my eyes reading it. The translator is such hero because you need patience and a very strong survival instinct (risk of killing yourself otherwise) to pass a long time on theses chapters to translate and edit....

The last arc (fourth, I think or fifth, my brain is blocking traumatic experiences so I am not... more>> clear anmore), well, MC took a task order from a pitiful soul (of the FC from an hentai world/male harem but not very nice for the FC...) and well, it was hard to read. You just want break your screen but there is confort with how MC deals with all the male PIGS in the end (and get revenge for the pitiful FC which role, she embodies).

But for now, all the ML asks for violent, ugly deaths, same (or worse) of their Mary Sue's FC are the same. You just wish for the their fall !

You may feel conflicted about continuing reading it. You really need to be in an ok mood before reading any chapter. And I have to conclude that in all of the QUICK TRANSMIGRATIONS'S KIND OF NOVEL (cf. "Recommendations"), Ning SHU (our MC) is the true CANNON FODDER ! And she have the most hard path to revenge because she is a less that normal person ! Befor her death, she was sick for a very long time so her life experience is lacking.... but she could really be you in a TRANSMIGRATION System.

So keep reading because Ning Shu is really developping. You will just love her. <<less

I so tots love this, there is no male love interest even after like 4 arcs. And even tho the first arc was legit the worst crap ever, I love the zombie one, and the current one is superb. Its like so funny and cringy in a good way, plus the translators really good about clarifying meaning, so thats a bonus!

When I founded this story at first I just read for less than 10 chapters and then dropped it. Later I read many positive reviews for this novel and then give another try to read again. I'd like to say that the 2nd try make me love this novel. The MC is not like others quick transmigration novel, she barely has cheat and her mission relying on her ability. From 1st arc to the next make her growth. Of course this novel is hilarious and make reading journey a lot of fun. Although until the 5th arc there isn't sign for male lead but this doesn't reduce the fun at all. The next arc funnier than before. The 5 stars rating also for translation quality. The translator's work is superb and for my standard I think it was good enough.

Edit : CHAPTER 3933

Because the novel is so good, I am impatient and read the raw novel with MTL although make me struggled to fully understand the meaning.

Roughly, I can understand about the storyline. There are many plot twists. Our FML Ning Shu has a very strong character, smart, strong ambition, fairly ruthless when she was in missions, in short she has many good points but also has some small weaknesses too.

If you expected romance plot for the FML, I suggested you to abandon this expectation. Although without Male Lead or romantic love story, I still addicted to this novel because the author was very good at creating such novel.

Spoiler

Ning Shu has her own life aside from the missions. She became stronger and stronger to build her own worlds. Yes, I don't type it wrongly, it is "world" with "s" which is mean many worlds. There was a world that she built by accident.

[collapse]

Spoiler

I read many comments from reader at the earlier of Ning Shu's missions, many of readers (including myself) were shipping for Ning Shu with the School Uncle, but later I hated the uncle more and more. He was unfeeling bastard. I also suspected he was a main villain character.

[collapse]

There were many unexpected identity of other characters, many unexpected plots. Well, I have to admit that at some point when the story was starting to get boring and slow down, unexpectedly the plot will build up again in the next chapter and make me unable to put down this story. One thing that made me a tiny bit disappointed.
Spoiler

the humor will getting less and less when the story progressing and the MC was getting stronger.

[collapse]

Ning Shu has her up and down journey, we can feel her emotional, mental and physical struggle. All her suffering was to make her more powerful and I can't help but cheering for her. This novel is really good ??????????

Meh, it's basically Side Character Transmigrations but stripped of its comedy, OP-ness and snarky main character. A lot of people say the first arc was bad, but I think it was waaaaay better than the second arc. In the second arc, whenever the Hun/Mongolian prince appeared, I skipped it, absolutely hated his character and I don't want to read about him.

EDIT: Oh hey, people are finally giving 1-star reviews. Agreeably, I was hoping she would get stronger, but nah, she doesn't. Also, transitions between arc are really abrupt so eh.

I think it started when he realized FL wasn’t the same person when the original soul took over the body again in the first arc. I had an omg he knows! I don't usually enjoy multiple plot stories like this one, but I enjoy this one because the MC doesn't break character and because the transmigrations take a maximum of 5 years but our MC is in and out in less than 2. She actually gets stronger and better as time goes on and enjoys playing the villain. She's not particularly mad, but she likes slapping people just because. She starts off incredibly helpless at first and perseveres, running through, wrecking havock in plots that I hate. People say that the... more>> villains are one dimensional, but I've seen these one off villains as protagonists.
Spoiler

The first story the protagonist is inserted into is an ecchi reverse harem. The type that if you took a male power fantasy and just switched the genders, (which as a pure and innocent girl with fujoshi tendencies I cannot relate to wanting to just f*ck every man I meet and dominate the world with my one punch style of opness, so I hate it) the second is a s*upid and simple female MC and heroic ML. If we were with the female MC, god, it would be a bad story. The type of story I start and just lose interest with no matter how hard I try. Just village, courtyard, the end. 9 parts inner court politics and one part lucky protagonist. The MC we are following takes us along a much more interesting route. I haven't seen the third arc all the way, but I'm committed to this character now and-

Edit: this is the only QT story I look forward to updates for, because the romance is still slow and not all crammed into the first arc. I'm just not a short story person. This is a long story with transient side characters and environments. <<less
