“Obtaining the topmost degree of talent in sword arts in the world requires giving up 72 years of lifespan, which leaves you with only five more years of your life. At the same time, you will never be able to feel love, kinship, and friendship, and you’ll end up leading a lonely life until your death, unable to procreate, or to have any descendants.

“From now onwards, everything related to happiness in the human world shall no longer be of your concern. Are you willing to accept this?”

“Hahahaha, I’m already alone bereft of all support, my hopes dashed to pieces, shouldering only absolutely irreconcilable grudge and hatred, why would I disagree? Why would I not want it? I couldn’t ask for anything better!!”

His sword sweeps across the Divine Continent for seven days and nights, moving 90,000 miles through the starry skies, unhindered.

He slays saints and buddhas in Heaven, slaughters demons and devils in Hell, sweeping away all the grievances in his heart!

Quite good. The author's starts it out with an explanation for why this MC will be the typical fanatically training MC that ignores all romance like the plague. And that is fine, as long as the author doesn't build a garbage repetitive story like occurs in so many webnovels. From the looks of it, the author will not go in that direction. The story has good pacing, continuously progresses, at least some of the characters are well developed besides the MC, the story is not overly sexist/racist, and the MC... more>> is not an incredibly annoying self-righteous psychopath despite having his emotions neutered. It is a good read so far. <<less

The story is whatever just the generic but entertaining but my problem with it is if the author has some special feelings towards a specific race why include them in the story at all like it got to the point where I couldn’t keep reading, if your racist or whatever cool, that’s your prerogative, but don’t put that in your story. I had the same problem with past stories because the author was actively throwing shots at a race like the author went out his way to make a entire... more>> arc of that race being the enemies and having s*x with animals like wtf just don’t include that race in your novel if you don’t like them just like majority of novels do <<less

When reading Paradise of Demonic Gods, I truly didn't have any expectation. It's an average story with average characters and average world building. It's not bad, but not good either, pretty generic and the "leveling" system is a bit off-putting for me. I personally feel giving characters levels and stats is a very lazy way of I guess standardizing power levels and power scaling, and there aren't many books that portray it right unless it's a flat out vrmmorpg story then it is a bit different.

The 5 years limit is... more>> interesting I guess, but it ends up just rushing the story at an uneven pace. Towards the end, the book's pacing goes out of whack completely with many things happening at the same time that it got pretty confusing.

MC is kinda bland, he just does stuff, other characters basically get no characterization. World building is okay, until like 2/3 of the story and it goes bat sh*t crazy.

It's an interesting read but I wouldn't recommend it if you need to be selective due to time constraints or the like. <<less

First thing about this novel. The Novel doesn't give 2 shits about romance, there is none at all even a tiny bit. But it is adult oriented novel and some will know after reading the first 5 chapters.

This novel describes the story a youth who lost everything even most of his life to attain unimaginable talent while also losing all of his positive emotions, this doesn't make him evil as some people might presume, but he became like a wasp who won't stung until someone disturbs him.

Due to losing most... more>> of his positive emotions and ability to copulate, his negative emotions and violent tendencies were enhanced as you guys know how people who lose sight are able to hear better, this make him personality unbearable towards everything that he consents is wrong and will do everything to have his way without giving two shits about the world (even if he have to face severe consequences).

He has mysterious past, and the world is also well made, most of the character are fleshed out and seemed to be evolving and changing as the story flows. The greatest of the example can be found from Ferdinand
Spoiler

How he was a noble who used to look down on our hero but slowly he became one of his biggest supporter, he is smart and knows his boundaries, and in the latest chapter he is seemed to be contemplating if following MC was the right choice even though he was gaining profit with each passing day.

[collapse]

I don't know if the author intended it, but most of the females in this story are (how do I put it in words) dumb and proud at the same time, thinking MC evil (His facial expression's mirrors that of a dead dog) and as they thought he was a beggar a commoner therefore their disdain towards him increases. As for the MC, he is weak in all matters beside fighting and training, so he is not some omnipotent being who excels at everything like smithing or politics.

This story is great, and treats its MC like shit, as you know how the people intend to do to create tension
Spoiler

He became blind, and even after he proves this doesn't affects his fighting ability (able to use sound to fight) he was snatched away of his resources because people thought of him as wasted/crippled (due to considering the possibility of him never winning against people who are at supersonic speed or even higher).

[collapse]

Paradise of demon and gods is a masterpiece, until where I have read (not sure about the future), which compresses the story like Martial God Asura (2000ch into just 300ch), while removing its hormones filled adultery and all the haughtiness, and the useless fillers. And all the connections of brotherhood, everyone is a tool used by him. Once you start reading this you won't stop, I have already opened Lnmtl link on another Tab, and going to read it.

See ya. <<less

First half is decent as a waste of time.

Second half is pure absurd. You thought topmost degree of talent in sword arts is OP BS? Haha, think again, every second antagonist seem to have more absurd 'talent'.

Spoiler

There's one dude whose ability is basically "if you believe in it - then it's truth" - he rose from nothing to one of the most dangeroues opponents in couple months. MC with his top-tier talent took couple years to get where he is.

Although MC seem to have alot of supporting characters, and they're all decently strong - they're actually deadweight in terms of fighting prowess, everytime there is slight problem on 'home turf' - they get their asses handed to them and then it's up to MC to sort sh#t up.

3/10 - don't read it if you have better things to do. <<less

I don't know if I can describe how bad this novel is. The author must've been drunk or sth when he wrote this. He is probably still drunk or goes out with Lady Mary Jane a lot. I don't know what are your expectations about this but I'm sure as hell this novel doesn't even go near it.

If I were to summarize the plot of this thingy: ... more>>
Spoiler

A guy, abandoned and weak one at that, obtains power by unknown means. Right as an old geezer was about to send him off to the River Styx, fossil changes his mind and decides to give him power, it costs MC his positive emotions and 70 years. He goes to the other planet to mature to a certain extend and take his revenge. (It was fine until that moment, wait) But it turns out that geezer conned MC and his IQ was also plundered until it hit the freezing point.

The best summary ever, maybe I should swap it with the official one.

[collapse]

From this point onward I will list things that just, how to say, pissed me off lmao. I will keep them short, writing too much just doesn't worth it.

  • Our dearest MC is just a dull machine. So much so that he even
    Spoiler

DOESN'T KILL THAT SHITS WHO MADE HIM SUFFER SO MUCH. HE JUST "TEACHES THEM A LESSON" AND BOUNCES BACK! OH MY f*ckIN' GOD I WOULDN'T COMPLAIN IF HE AT LEAST COULD DO THAT PROPERLY. I thought since his positive emotions are non-existent, his negative ones would be amplified. Boy, I was wrong...

    [collapse]
He just sits there like a rotten tree and cultivates. I sometimes doubt wherever he is the real MC or nah, maybe the author just kidnapped the real thing and keeps him all to themselves?? 'Cause it makes no sense that supporting characters are far better than him in the long run.
  • Our coolest xxMCxx-sama either lets his enemies live or kills them only after 3124122 chapters pass and readers are about to rebel. I don't exaggerate things, IT IS SIMPLY JUST THAT. He always says "Hmph, I won't bother with weaklings" but, in the end, because of his dumbness-with some-arrogance-in-between, we have to read those weaklings get stronger and attack MC again and again, again and again... I'm lazy as f*ck myself, I know how things work. If you don't want any more trouble, you just gotta end it for once and for all. I'm not eating your "I don't wanna bother" bullshit. Oh, he's also super friendly and "befriends" his enemies 7/10 times. I'm not even- GODS OF NOVELS HEAR MY SCREAAAMS!

  • Other characters are, even though they're more likable than MC, no different than planets that revolve around the sun. They just follow MC, do whatever he tells them to do. Reason? "It happened to be my intention too", "It will benefit me more" etc. Are you some underdog or what? Didn't you have a life before him? Maybe ya all are hidden tsun-tsuns? One way or another, they will just abandon everything and follow MC. What a prince charming...
  • Enemies are just a pain in the ass. I love clever devils, not smart-aleck children. Beaten up? I should come again. MC achieved this and that? I don't care, I'm the best. Heeey, girls over there, what about giving me your numbers? ;) Whot you're MC's whamen? GOTTA MESS WITH HIM- Simply wonderful.
  • I'm not some idler (yeah I'm but no) so I'm not gonna write all deux-ex-machines here. Just know there's more than enough.
  • I dropped it around 200 but I really hoped it would get better and continued till 600. Just know that I haven't read it this far only to complain and no, I didn't fantasize about writing this at night. I could do so at 200.
I was supposed to keep it short but I just couldn't bruh, my disappointment is a bit big. By the way, don't whine like a bit*h if you disagree. You have the right to ignore my rambling. <<less

I like this novel. But I want people to understand. It is an intressting read, a good read. But honestly, me myself, I had to read 50+ chapters before it gets to the "oh things about to get good" feeling. It is like a 50+ chapters long Arc of training. No carrots, sidetracks, adventures, twists. So if you can chew through these many chapters of constant training before you get to the good stuffs then you might, not drop this novel. It is an intressting novel, but it just... not... more>> good enough composition. Which is why only 3 stars from me.

Edit: after reading to 300. its like... god... sometimes it is intressting, sometimes it is difficult to keep reading because the novel loses its charisma from time to time. The 5 year time limit is really forcing this novel into a writing styles which makes it hard, for me, maybe not for you, but for me to keep up the interest. It has it ups and downs. Seems this was done written at chapter 1166 so somewhere there has to be a change to this writing technique/style...

Edit: The speciality seeds are confusing. A few things are difficult to understand and dumb. Yes dumb. I am now 400 chapters in. The battles are intressting and probably only the battles is what keeps this novel at 3 stars for me. <<less

(Will be subjected to changes as the novel tl goes on)

So-so, neither good nor bad, boring nor fun. Quite suitable for those bored pass-time readers.

The story is set in a modern world in near future. Where a phenomenon occur and people started to have a game-like system which estimate their strength/ability in life which also represent their status in the society (like those cultivators in xianxia).

Premise is quite good unfortunately writing style is quite flat (own opinion) its neither poorly written nor thrilling, story is so-so executed. Mc's... more>> quite nice. Mistreated by family then later betrayed by a friend, gain an Op Sword Comprehension/potential ability then *poof* we got an MC waiting to showcase his ability. A dedicated swordsman that apperantly so dedicated that he has no spare time to take a bath. Honestly if he had that Do-or-Die determination when he has that silent attitude in the past. Although he may not be as good as he is now but I bet he will not be as tr*shy as he used to be. Unfortunately now that he only have a short 5 yrs to live + Op Cheat, only now did his do-or-die determination and hardwork manifest plus he became quite arrogant and snubbish that I believe he in the near future will be subjected to a lot of mistreatment and will turn into another Lin Feng (PMG MC).

Anyway with all that reason summed up my initial rating shall be 3. Something rounded Up turned into 4. I might rate 5 if its my first time reading CN unfortunately No, so hey enjoy the read.. <<less

The introduction is one of the worst cliched intros so far, but the story premise itself has promise. The entire family hates/wants MC dead for *insert mysterious past of MCs parents* - which has nothing to do with the MC himself. Will rewrite this as I read more.

You know when you are ready to see the possible comeback of resident evil movies¿ Then, they just get f*cking lazy and f*cking skip it so that they show you what seems like a short story and whatever they say -boomer- kind of production¿

Well, the same.

No romance, and for it to not be boring and be amazing, is something not all novels do well, WMW for an example.

... more>> In this case is done quite well, just not as meaningful nor rationale. It is, still, pretty much well done.

But oh boy, what happened, is boring. Although have no doubts about recommending this great work, I definitely was about to get it to 2* for obvious reasons, good sh*t I like most elements in this novel, I just hoped they werent so messily developed and there was a system like, law like, or even just a f*cking meta like rules about this novels power. There wasnt.

Definitely recommended, not well valuated. Quite simple, I liked it and got the satisfaction of having encountered this after a crude disappointment from an early reading; just glad something this simple and easy going was there, for me. <<less

I started off reading Paradise of Demonic gods years ago, when the series was still just beginning to be translated. At that time, less than a hundred chapters was out. Finally, years later, the series has come to an end.

Overall, it was quite good, but as with most cultivation novels, Paradise of Demonic Gods keeps getting worse the more you progress through it. The ending was clearly the author trying to rush through the ending since he knew that his series was going down into a downwards spiral, so he... more>> axed it prematurely when there was at least a few hundred chapters of content he could have made, but he instead condensed it into 10 chapters.

I'd say he made the correct choice. The ending arcs of the novel are just atrocious. The first 1 to 700 chapters or so are pretty good. I'd say with confidence that it is a 8 or 9/10. The beginning is pretty good. I really liked the concept of a revenge novel on a time limit. Cultivation system, not super unique, but definitely pretty different with its power progression. A bunch of weird, new, and interesting cultivation concepts were used in those 700 chapters, and it's pretty good. In the end, the novel is good because you want to see Fang Xingjian become the strongest. The whole revenge idea is basically resolved in the first... 500 chapters or so? You read the novel because you want to see Fang Xingjian destroying some arrogant beings that want to suppress him.

However, the plot derails very quickly after the first 700 chapters. Characters basically become irrelevant other than Fang Xingjian. New, random characters start influencing the plot and at that point, the story is already ruined. The cultivation system doesn't really matter at some point, and Fang Xingjian becomes OP in like 1 chapter. The author really tries to explain a lot of the "super unique cultivation methods and powers" in the concluding story arcs have while also making the old cultivation system absolutely irrelevant. The problem is that the author does a really bad job of explaining it. It's a huge concept, and a bold move. I can't say that I didn't really understand the whole thing, because I did, but it was done in a bad, boring, and text dump way. It's just out of the author's pay grade to create a novel with that sort of conclusion. It's not executed well, explained poorly, and characters are invented and used to progress the plot that the author had in mind. I appreciate the effort, but it's just not that great. Character, story, and worldbuilding weren't exactly the author's strong suit to begin with. The story was pretty linear and easy to understand in the beginning, but it just keeps on losing steam. I am disappointed, but I understand how the story fell in to shambles.

In the end, Paradise of Demonic Gods should have been finished by the time Fang Xingjian's revenge plot is completed. So, I can't really say I'd recommend the series. It's pretty good in the beginning, but the ending parts are bad enough that it's not worth reading. <<less

3/10 below average, not recommended to read at all.

Frankly, this novel starts off pretty good. The MC gets betrayed and makes a deal with the devil in order to take revenge. His op power allows him godly prowess with the sword while his class gives him op levels of speed. He's able to learn and progress sword techniques dozens of times faster than anyone else and is able to even combine sword techniques to create op new ones.

I really like novels with gaming elements and this novel satisfies my itch... more>> very well. The world is similar to a gaming system with everything from stats and skills to unique classes. It was still enjoyable to me despite the many tropes and some plot holes here and there. Also the fights are done well with there being unique powers and magic depending on the class and skills the user possess.

The MC is a cold blooded killer with no positive emotions due to his deal with the devil. I think this could have been interesting area to explore. Seeing the MC deal with his inner evil that possibly conflicts with his sense of morals that remain from his previous existance. This sense of inner struggle and conflict of two different personas would have been great for giving the character more depth and complexity.

However, the author instead turns the MC into an emotionless, hypocritical a-hole who, for some reason, seems to constantly contradicts himself. My biggest problem is that for hundreds of chapters he vows to kill all potential threats and evil, regardless of who they, or the people backing them are, and yet for some reason he decides...

Spoiler

... to let the most annoying bad guy, the prince, go despite the fact that he has been trying to kill and or ens*ave the MC for hundreds of chapters. I s*** you not he actually let's him go despite knowing that his decision will bite him in the a** later.

[collapse]

I mean wtf is up with that!

The author is obviously trying to set this huge conflict later but it comes across as extremely forced and frustrating.

This isn't the first nor the last time Mr. MC contradicts his whole believe system but it is by far the biggest and most annoying. I flat out couldn't even read it after this happened. Despite putting up with his bs for so long that was the final nail in the coffin for me. As for the side characters, they are mediocre and completely forgettable so I don't feel the need to even write anything about them.

The story, despite being ok at first, takes a sharp nose dive downwards after he forms his own mental cultivation technique. After that the novel gets progressively worse and worse until it becomes an enduance test to see how long the reader can put up with all the over blown bull**** the author throws at you before quitting.

The only reason this novel doesn't get a 1 out of ten is because of the initial chapters, the cool powers, and the gaming elements that I love so much. I don't see the MC being op as a drawback because I'm a fan of those kinds of MC to begin with. Everything else though makes this novel a complete chore to read at later chapters

3/10 below average, not recommended to read at all. <<less

I wish I could rate this tr*sh lower than one, something into the minus would be more reasonable.

Once you hit chapter 60+ you see the MC turn into an arrogant prick who thinks of getting revenge a select few people.

Carrying on reading if you want. I would put this novel on the same level as Summoned Slaughterer.

A brain dead, killing machine that is in a world with no plot.

The MC wants revenge on the Prince, his grandmother and this Caroline chick.

He forgot about his ‘friend’ who sold him out to Caroline

He strength is progressing to slowly for the rate he is dying. He gave up emotions and 76 years of his life for unparalleled sword talent.

He got extremely strong sword talent but not unparalleled.

Chapter 503 read

So far our protogonist is a overpowered arrogant prick which wants to eredicate evil and even if that is truth, he is arrogant and selfabsorbed bastard which does work for his improvement but there is almost not an instant in which his enemies are close to him in power. He almost always skuash them like ants. What the hell? I can do it too by going outside and kill some ants. I want to see human feelings, desperation, will etc. Not a prick which has more power than... more>> brains. He just slash some time, some more, grind his enemies in mist paste and then burn them into ash. Heck, it is always the same. Even with arch enemies it is the same. He might be weaker than some but always before a fight he goes to train/cultivate and then he is suddenly stronger than his enemy.

I hope that author will kill our main character in most gruesome way. If he is so righteous then he should change his enemies into good people, make amends, be betrayed, but still be good and even then forgive. Be betrayed again and then kill. If he is such good person, then teach others his way of doing things. He is just a hypocryte idiot with childs temper. I waste few minutes a day to read something good but there is none <<less

I enjoyed the initial parts of this novel, then suddenly felt bored afterwards. Just like the others have written, MC gets too OP and other opponents barely pose a challenge to him. The level up mechanisms are too... easy imo. I don't see any satisfying process of trial and error, MC just sees a technique and baaam masters it immediately. So, I don't really recommend it :)

The story is good, and progressing very well, the only problem witch is a serious problem is the deal that the MC have done witch I found later that he will ruin the story, basically the deal for obtaining power aside from his lifespan he loses positives emotions, so that means he will be cold or even evil later on, thing witch started to surface once he gained power, he started wrecking havoc arrogantly, he didn't distinguish between good and bad nor male or female, as long as they are... more>> powerful he need to test his superiority against them making more enemies than necessary. The deal also makes the story lacking emotionally as there is no potential romance not camaraderie in the horizon, witch make the story somewhat boring as the revenge is far witch makes it lose luster. Your only bet is progress in cultivation and ass-kicking witch is in abundance as well as political struggle, things that make me go so far until I lost reason to root for the MC, it's not that he did any atrocity but he character isn't to my liking, one dimensional cold and emotionless then somewhat arrogant when overpowered.

Still if you are lenient, this novel is good, way better than a lot of the popular crap. If only the author inject some heart-warm into it, I would certainly change my mind. <<less

It's alright. The story feeds you cliches like it was life support, but once you can put those in the back of your mind it'll be alright. I especially like the protagonist, he has a clear goal and knows he doesn't have much time to achieve it so he works hard. If you like a protagonist who is bad-ass, calm and overpowered, this is for you. However, if you like a story with ambiance, romance, etc. You won't find it here. Not yet at least.

Oh, and also, the antagonists... more>> are the most brainless idiots on the planet, literally everyone who hates the protagonist are literal idiots. The reasons they hate him are dumb and they don't learn anything after having their teeth kicked in. They're so numerous and every single one of them is brain-dead and it always ends the same way. The women especially, Jesus Christ why are the women so idiotic? So far, the only purpose they've served is show more bias than any of the men have and then be amazed or, in most cases, act irrational after finding out what an amazing person our protagonist is. <<less

Let me preface this that it takes a lot to impress me. Emperor Domination, Reincarnator and especially Warlock of the Magus world are what I would consider major masterpieces.

I will not say that Paradise of demonic gods blow it all out of the water but I will say that this is bar none the most unique light novel I have read.

It is sad because most people will never get to enjoy what this light novel truly is about.

You see it starts off as a somehow decent xianxia, MC levels up,... more>> sh*t happens, he gets nakama etc just your average sh*t happens. They even somehow gave him a personnality in the beginning of the nove making it some kind of revenge story, then changing it completely, then basically just not giving a damn about his personnality and just going on with the show.

This suffer from the same stuff Reincarnator did in the beginning of the novel, that is they spend WAY too long in the early levelling up, trying hard to make up a lot of stuff that matters but then as the novel goes on author probably realized nobody cared about this and when he started writing about the story it started to get REALLY REALLY GOOD.

I was not that impressed in the first 400 hundred chapters but once he enters Divine Level is when the story becomes truly unique. Do not get me wrong it was good before it but it was very limited compared with what the story is all about.

It gets absolutely amazing at that point on, minor spoilers but MC when he clears divine tiers he has to go to other worlds in other parellels universe and it can literally be anything, be it medieval societies, alternate version of earth with characters, the scope becomes ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE, and the possibilities LIMITLESS. I will not spoil more than this.

If you can somehow handle half the novel being decent if not that special then once you get into the DIVINE tier clearance stage you will get your mind blown. This is a very clever and well thought novel, the MC uses brute force through most of everything but to reach this brute force he uses his IQ, cleverness and intelligence.

Once it gets to something like chapter 800 or so is when this novel reaches the apex. So good.

MY ONLY nitpick is that some characters are introduced and literally forgotten for the rest of the novel.

Another nitpick may be that the MC is almost never in danger, maybe 6 times on the whole novel he would have died if he was unlucky but some Deus Ex Machina stuff always saved him. Now I call this minor because 6 Deus ex in 1100 + chapters is more than OK for me.

If a novel like WMW is true perfection and everything comes together at the end then PDG is raw diamond with infinite potential, it kinda got rushed near the end but most novel get rushed anyways. <<less

This has been a ride. Ending is weak as expected of cultivation novel but there is a lot of face slapping and MC is kind of ok. This is probably a good read for a power trip as MC exerts his power all the time.

People who are looking for quality novel this is not for you. This novel is for people who like faceslapping and dog blood. Brainless mobs are found all the time for MC to kick their ass. There is absolutely no romance at all.

The reason for rating... more>> 4 is because I enjoyed it and who knows you might too? <<less
