But after all that wishing for a new beginning ended in a very bad ending… I was finally given that chance. I just had to be tortured by some smartass…

I would have given it 4 stars if not for the end. It was quite good up until the end which I thought really killed the mood/seriousness of the story.

For the most part everything is explained and decently thought out. The only thing I was not a fan of was him always being lucky even with him picking the skill it made it so the story had no suspense in fights.

The plot and premise are great, but the execution is horrible. The main character got lvl 600 stats at the beginning and couldn’t even one shot the low tier mobs. The author must be trying to pad the word count because stats are in the hundreds of thousands and fights with beginner mobs take 10 chapters. Even the most basic dungeon is portrayed as the overpowered hero barely winning. Honestly I feel myself getting a headache seeing such ridiculous numbers.

MC reminds of the beta type MCs from j novels. Story is about a failure of a human being jumping into the ocean in order to reset his skills or stats because... well he sucks, instead of getting reset, he finds himself 10 years back before demons and dungeons invaded earth. This is where he uses his memory to be the first ect... He becomes the first to find dungeons and become a immortal and gets a ton of stat points and other benefits.

The way the author writes reminds me... more>> of wuxia novels where they just put in a bunch of nonesense info to fill up word count, here you will see loads of silly and s*upid info that anyone with common sense will know about beforehand. On top of that, the MC is a total child that giggles and get excited at every little thing he finds or does. I mean, cmon by know you should be a stone cold veteran that has slain many demons yet hes like "tehee I'm getting more stat points than everyone else, I just found a weapon, I just found some money, oh look its a monster!" god damn, kid shut it already.

Quite frankly this MC does not deserve to be reincarnated, he's a childish fool that has tons of plot armor with many lucky encounters. Give the first few chapters a try and judge for yourself. I'll still be reading (skimming) hopefully it gets better soon, but not getting my hopes up. <<less

Edit: for some reason it hasn't even reached chapter fifty and they're already locking the new chapters. I would have continued reading for brainless fun but no way should this story be any kind of VIP or whatever they call it when they start charging stones. looks like this is getting dropped.

here was my original review:

The beginning is alright but I warn you now that there are a lot of things that don't make sense or contradict themselves. if you can turn off your brain you might enjoy it, otherwise... more>> you might want to give it a pass.

Spoiler

in one early chapter he basically says "i've always wanted to duel wield swords... so I guess i'll go with a spear." he only decides this after the year is up; he could have been learning the basics of any weapon but doesn't bother. makes no sense. he never bothers to try and hunt down or look up any information on the guy he swore revenge on during that year and he never stocks up anything, not even food. he doesn't even buy a tent or a flashlight.... and he writes down his entire plan (dungeon locations, class builds, skills, etc) in a spiral notebook which I assume will be stolen at some point but then again maybe not since he has high luck/ insane plot armor.

and the dungeon thing makes no sense. a low level newbie dungeon and the first floor is for levels 0-50, the second floor 50-100 and the third 150-200. how is that any kind of a low level dungeon? and how are level 0-50 mobs distributed? are they all just wandering around randomly? a level two or three would be hard to fight for a normal group of level zeros and they wouldn't even be able to damage a level ten, let alone a level 50. and that's not even going into the fact that the MCs damage should be much higher than 120 with his atk damage added in with and his absurdly high stats

[collapse]

Also, he doesn't act like someone who's gone through 10 years of hell and died over and over again. he acts like hot-headed over confident teenager and not some guy who is supposed to be 30 before the world changes (or 41, if you include the 11 yrs experience from the first time).

this is a series where the actual comments are more entertaining to read than the story itself. <<less

Pretty much a wish-fulfillment novel. If you're looking for a book where the MC basically steamrolls the plot, then this is for you. Keep in mind, this is what's been happening up until now (Chapter 25). I'll make a guess and say that this will continue. More of a guilty pleasure type of novel where you enjoy the power ride.

Slightly non-standard reincarnator cheat story.

This is set in modern times with sci-fantasy elements.

The GOOD:

  • Sorry, this is a template knock-off story with little 'good' to see so far. The MC's attitude is 'OK', and his mindset/major choices are 'plausible'. It's not 'bad' though- just not notably good.
The BAD:

  • Writer has very little idea how combat works, and especially not the tactics or benefits that one who's experienced (or has high stats) might develop. The fight scenes described in ch 22 & 23 are completely anti-climatic (if not just plain dumb). Just in, Ch 24-27 are worse. Author doesn't understand stats or fighting strategies/dynamics. I am really not exaggerating this. Comments ate the end of agree, and the translator actually tries to defend at the beginning of 28-- then the editor tries to fill in gaps at the end of 30!
  • MC is selfish and short sighted. Did I say 'MC'? I meant 'author', as this is slightly better than wish fulfillment with leveraged 'author justification' to sort of explain the MCs choices).
    Spoiler

This is (by description) a borderline post-apocalyptic story- but the MC just focuses on his own journey, completely ignoring the (implied) downfall of others, and purposefully chooses not to share information that could save lives- all so he can have an edge in his desire to rise to the top.

    [collapse]
  • Power-ups fall from the sky. I don't even know how the main story doesn't 'break' the proposed backstory.
    Spoiler

Advanced aliens (or whatever) 'reveal' Earth has been undergoing a 'test' (which has now ended), and immediately move to the next (nonsense) phase, of turning the world into an 'elite race-change' lottery, and dungeons/monsters cavalcade... for reasons. Ok, whatever. So the MC (having leveled in this environment to be no one notable) asks god for a favor, which is apparently granted- so he gets to go to the past a year before any of this starts.

Yep- clearly no on else prays to god. J/k- it's almost certainly something else- moving on...

So, anyway- pretty much all of his actions are pretty blatant 'uses of foreknowledge' (cheats) to get all the best power-ups, and likely affecting whatever this was planned to be (after the 'test'), which is supposedly observed, and now thoroughly ruined (but who's paying attention?).

    [collapse]
The DIFFERENT:

  • MC is super mediocre.
  • There is a potential 'hint' of a story where the 'NPC's are described, though I doubt it will actually go anywhere, or amount to anything.
All in all, ok if you're bored enough.

Lately, I've been enjoying Korean LN more than Japanese. I don't know; maybe it's because the stories are more mature, it's like they are targeting older reader.

What I love about this novel are :

  1. There is no harem; this is my number one turn off.
  2. The main character is not a typical hot-blooded hero or beta character that would let people push them around, especially girls (urgh...).
  3. There is almost no character development, but I do like how characters action mostly makes sense and do not feel forced.
  4. The MC is OP, but he's not that OP from the beginning, the author have found the perfect balance on having the MC strong enough that he can dominate, but not that strong which is why he still struggles on all important battles.
  5. The author knows when to quit. The story is basically divided into two arcs — the first arc on Earth, and the other one on another plane. Most of the story is on how he makes himself stronger on Earth, while the second arc is shorter, it's basically the same thing, although by this point his part on the story is so much more significant. So instead of continuing the story to the third world, which would probably more of the same thing, the author ends the story.
If you enjoy LN like me but... more>> not the many childish cliches that comes with it, then I recommend this story. <<less

This story lacks a lot, but it's readable if you have nothing else to read.
I like the idea of real world turning into a game world and people turning into game avatars, that's why I read it all.

Pros
All numbers and calculations are coherent.
Unique skills of some other characters are surprisingly funny and creative.

Cons
It's a monologue, sounds like a diary.
Most characters are one dimensional.
Skills of the MC lack vision. For example, MC doesn't have any Aeo, attack, defense, movement skill even at ch100 while other... more>> characters have.
Lack of memorable side characters, lack of diversity in characters.
Lack of diverse plot, subplot, and main plot
Occasional unrealistics and prolonged chats. <<less

Although I do enjoy reading this novel, I have to admit that it's overall quality is just so-so

There's no depth at all on characters and even the story plot. There's just not enough elements here that would really make you engross in reading this series at all. Everything just felt like that anything would be solve by the MC, making the series without any tension or excitement to read at all.

Average read if you are bored out of your mind.

Dropped at ch.165/302.

System is completely game like. It could only be acceptable in computer mmo, crutch stats like Attack speed, crit. Chance/damage etc are too ret*rded even for VR game, much less real life. Of course I also resent HP stat in real life games, as it makes no sense at all. All skills in the system brought in the shops, etc.

... more>> Basically it is ret*rded mmo progression system that reduces all complexity of real world to a dozen numbers.

MC is also not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Mediocre at best, and completely not self-aware. <<less

Sorry bad English.

A 3.3☆ story (can be 4☆ if not for rushed ending (not too much), or at least have chara depelovment).

No tense in the entire novel (for me). Like other second chance novel, MC didn't have a hard time with the villain. Well he is OP, but still "strugle" when facing boss-grade, but not much. Bc plot armor will save the day. :)

No Romance. Yeah~...

Spoiler

He have a girlfriend but that happen in the last 4 chap.

[collapse]

As for Ending...

Spoiler

He won the final battle against the 'end boss' with his absolute destruction skill, then he got the reward that reset everything before the otadolon stage, oh dont worry he still have the power (more powerfull even) bc he became the owner of earth

[collapse]

A good novel for beginer, but only so-so for veteran. Read this if u dont have other novel to read.

Oh! Dont mind the low rating 2, 9 its not that bad. <<less

Honestly I really enjoyed this novel

At the start the fights and stuff are indeed quite the turnoffs but it gets better and more exciting with time

However there is one thing that destroyed it all for me... THE ENDING... AAAAAAAAAAAA (im currently at chapter 297 out of 302 and I know exactly whats going to happen and I absolutely hate it, in the IMPOSSIBLE case that what I have predicted is wrong ill change it to a better rating)

Spoiler

Basically the MC gets the choice to return Earth to its previous stage and making Earh unable to ever again reach the Otadolon stage (basically turning the world back in time) or he can just choose to go into the further stage... yes he chose the latter option, im really pissed now, I expected this novel to have SO MUCH MORE since its based on stages and theres probably a ton of them but nope, MC just chooses to return Earth in time and end the story sooner, gg

This novel is possibly the laziest written novel I have ever read. Both the plot and main character are equally bland.

First off, the main character. Hes a absolute wimp who gets a chance to go back in time. After he turns back in time, he discovers something, hes not actually a wimp! Impressive. He then goes to fight weak mobs, level up, etc. There isn't a thing about this character that stands out.
Spoiler

There is literally a character that killed him over a hundred times (devas in this world respawn after three hours) and constantly torture him. Now, you would think he would be pretty pissed, I would be too. So take a guess at what this self-proclaimed non-wimp character does. After 150 chapters, he finds out where he is. The main character kills him once. ONCE. He killed someone that sent weak assassins after him twice.

[collapse]

Second, the plot. Again, super lazy writing. We have people who awaken (devas) who become immortal, turns into a game world, etc. Monsters spawn, dungeons appear, quests, etc. All the basic stuff. Just from that, it's okay. However, I'm at chapter 183 and there is no hint of an overarching plot whatsoever. With how much the author pads out fights despite the main character being ridiculously stronger than anyone else in existence, it's quite sad. They try so hard to make it seem like the main character struggles against another character, when in reality this makes no sense. He has the most overpowered abilities in existence. His stats are ridiculously high.
Spoiler

He even had a ability that has a 1% chance of instantly killing whatever he hits. Of course, the author realized this was beyond s*upid and removed it shortly afterwards, but still, point stands.

[collapse]
Anyway, after many fights of the main character barely winning, the story is already lackluster. To the point where it would be three stars.

Now, onto my main gripe with this novel. Right now, the author has painted the main character as absurdly overpowered, and should be able to kill everyone else with ease. Despite this, he still struggles, this is never addressed. So, of course the main character can't "lose" a battle, so in order to "weaken" the main character, the author does some of the s*upidest stuff imaginable.
Spoiler

First, during the start of the novel after hes dungeon grinding, a quest appears. It has suspiciously good rewards, and it isn't at a quest location. The main character, being bland, doesn't notice that it's blatantly suspicious. He accepts it any way. The quest is to guard a item while you sleep. Easy right? This item puts him to sleep for four years. Honestly this pissed me off quite a bit, the single most laziest way to write a time skip. Then, close to chapter 175, he does it AGAIN. A deity (stronger form of deva) appears, and uses their special ability on him. It transports the main character to a dungeon that he cant leave until he completes it. The dungeon task is to kill the boss monster. The boss monster, is a mole that is invincible. Great plot am I right? This invincibility will wear off only if the main character hits it for two years. Once again, great plot am I right?

[collapse]

Overall, this novel could've atleast been mediocre, but the author decided to make it even worse. I don't recommend reading this novel.

This story is... mediocre? It's very readable mostly due to the translator doing a good job, but it's basically self-insert wish-fulfillment schlock. Simply due to time-travel and a handwavy "luckiest man on Earth" bit in chapter one or two, the MC keeps getting deus-ex-machina victories and massive windfalls. From the word go, nobody can ever compete with him at anything. In a system that levels basically from 0 to 1000 or thereabouts, he starts out at level 0 with the power of someone at level 600+ and ramps up exponentially... more>> from there. And he's a single-target melee beatstick, which is my least-favorite character type. It's not even a good gamer system, since the free windfall stat points that the MC keeps getting are essentially the only element, and they don't even really make a lot of sense. Skills do exist, but basically never level up. This is actually more like a superhero story with some game elements thrown in for flavor or scaling. The worldbuilding was so-so at best.

All that said, I did spend a couple of days on this and I did finish it. Some of the fight scenes were quite fun, even despite the sillyness of it all. It's absolutely NOT good writing, and everything was quite transparently "main not-so-good guy wins always", but it did keep me reading for some reason I can't figure out at this point. Maybe I'm an idiot for spending all that time on a not-that-inspiring story, but it's at least 2 stars and possibly three, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Take that as you will. <<less

What a waste of time this novel was love the concept but the execution is terrible.

Like in many Korean game novels we got the protagonist going back in time to the start of everything but nothing is explain why that happend or even the gruge he have with some guy that kill him many times for no reason.

And then when he goes back to the begining some merchans that have only 1 rule don't harm the "players" decide to harm the MC because they weren't profting with his actions so... more>> MC fall sleep for 4 years and wakes up almost at the same time he wen't back in time. Now thats just s*upid why make him time travel to return where he started again.

And the ending is also crap, so we got no romance, no friendship, no OP MC in fact he is kinda underdog with all his sleeping, as*hole family group MC help at the begining now have a member wanting to kill MC for no reason and even the fights are terrible made.

So what is left in this novel to care about it, all characters are backstabing biches and the MC is a moron, not even the rules of this "game" are respected so why care at all about anything. <<less

It's not an amazing story. The ratings are way too low though. The story is a bit bland and the ending is quite weak. The MC is okay. The story beats are interesting enough.

You can't expect too much of it but as an overpowered protagonist that grows with a level system, it's good. Also no big problems with the story either.

The story was interesting for the msot part. I gave it a chance just cause it seemed like it had a chance at being a decent novel.

Got through it all with a push but the overall story was not very good. Did not enjoy the way character worked half the way. It seemed too simple and little to no development efforts.

Spoiler

Ending felt too cliché and long winded for me and really didn't give me what I felt the author wanted to share

Such a big no no....

This novel has most of the tags that I like but when I move on to read this novel it's like I'm reading something else entirely like what theFFFFFF is wrong with the MC and his weak will and conservative personality moreso when he wants vengeance to what was done to him in the previous time where someone FFF with him.... It's like the mc's brain resetted to and forgot of the pain and hardship that was done to him and he's living a real total... more>> slacker life with a naive personality... the good things that happened to him his: op luck, future info, OP PLOT ARMOR has done nothing to his brain but clugged it more like use it with some sense please... when I'm reading what he has been doing with his time I really feel that there's injustice in this world for such a moron to get a such a chance only to blow it up again wanting another chance altogether since he didn't use it right...

My Hate is really overflowig in this one F... Anyway Thank you for the NOVEL.. AUTHOR THANK YOUU!!!! <<less

Overpowered MC tag seems misleading. He is definitely strong but there is overuse of lucky or uncontrolled events instead of utilizing past knowledge, strategy or cunning to win difficult boss fights. MC's choice for class/skills are also more luck-based than planning. It is almost like a waste of second chance theme. One of his skills is abused too many times as deus ex machina.
