“How do you like this mood? If one day he suddenly becomes a masked superhuman in a tight suit with a swinging boa tail behind him, hands with long spider hair, and a drooling pig face under the mask, even so, you can still remain calm and pull him into your embrace.”

“There is only one possibility: my eyes are blind.” Ke Bu is a real person. He understands that love is not great to this point. If you really become like that, Zhi Li’s first reaction is absolutely to send himself to the Scientific Research Institution.

THE BANTER IS REAL. The quick quips and witty exchange is leaving me gagging. This novel is thoroughly enjoyable. The main MC has a dark outlook on life (in words) but has a genuinely positive mentality, with his actions contrasting his thoughts. He would say he doesn't care for something (like ghost hunting) then still fall/go for it. Both protagonist are genuinely two-faced but are so honest to the point with each other (Banter lv100). Every character in this novel has a personality as well, weird but beautiful personalities. Their... more>> friendship group is basically the collection of every weirdo in school, with a vibe similar to 'The daily lives of high school boys/Danshi kokosei no nichijo'. The weirdest things are taken so seriously within this novel, 'Too hot of a day = the second coming of Satan'. So the plot is easy going and hilarious, I may die of laughter or worry. So, I would definitely recommend this novel as an easy read. <<less

This novel is set on modern age so we don't have to understand a lot of chinese terms that are often seen on cultivation novels tho this novel contain lots of idioms, good for us after the idioms the translation were placed so it's okay (credits to the translator). Since I'm still on the early parts of the story, I really can't say a lot but it's worth your time. The MC is a big tsun. He's so cute when conversing with the ML. The ML on the other hand... more>> is kinda cold and weird as he is often doing things out of ordinary.. A cold, weird ikemen (and we can see he pays more attention to the MC compared to others) :^) hmmmhmm~ Give it a try ;) it's light hearted so far so no stress in reading this whatsoever only fluffs x3. <<less

Here's the thing, the story has its own good points and bad points. I think the people above me have explained its good points so I'll only say the bad points. The plot flow in this story is very bad. One moment, all the characters are filming a school comedy show and the next moment, they're filming a drama. The flow just doesn't add up and don't mention how sudden and random the drama came. And what I'm curious af in the drama part is why is Ke Bu being... more>> so dramatic when in the first place, this story is supposed to be light-hearted with only a lil bit drama (which is my first impression of it). The thing is the drama part is very exaggerated. He's all "I can't live without Zhi Li" and stuff which I feel it just came out of nowhere, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ke Bu suddenly said that he had cancer at the time. And I don't get why all the characters is like "We'll always devote ourselves to Zhi Li" which is another thing that's random af bcuz I feel like Zhi Li didn't do anything much for them to worship him to that extent. In the comedy show of the story, Zhi Li doesn't act like a lover much. I think that's just a part of his characteristics? I'm also not too fond of his attitude when they first had s*x. Well, sure he does pay attention more to Ke Bu but he's too indifferent that it makes me feel stifled to why Ke Bu would be satisfied with such a lover. Even the coldest ML that I've seen would be at their warmest when it comes to MC. But in the drama part of the story, Zhi Li randomly acts like a soft-hearted lover all of a sudden, being all dramatic alongside Ke Bu. I feel like the author should work more when it comes to plot building and plot flow cuz everything is just random af. Yes, this story is VERY RANDOM.

Edit: I decided to change my rating to 2 star <<less

Provisional rating: 3/5 (but heading downwards)

Hmm. This is one of those stories where I persist because it has potential to get better - to develop the positive parts and grow out of the negative parts. Unfortunately, at this stage, it's doing the opposite...

This story is about a student (I can't figure out whether they're in high school or university) who tends to be cynical and a non-participator, and the group of people who end up surrounding him as they start dorming at their new school, including the attractive, taciturn... more>> and dominating eponymous male lead.

Parts of the writing is very good, and I appreciate how the author has made an MC without a particularly good personality and an on-paper stereotypical ML whose stereotypical traits are aspects of his overall character rather than being used in place of having actual character. It's also nice to see some female characters who are members of the main character group in their own right (i.e. not just someone's girlfriend, mother, sister, admirer or ex). The other thing I've appreciated are the moments of real emotion that have occasionally been shown so far, and hint at more to discover about the main couple's lives and more to develop.

However, this story has a few of the traits I like least about romance stories, and they're not particularly getting better, as some stories do as they develop.

The first is the tendency for "interesting" plot to revolve around the MC being imposed upon, dragged into embarassing things by his "friends" and generally given situations where he is frustrated or humiliated and it makes me cringe and feel frustrated, too. I have never enjoyed stories like that. To make it worse, as the story goes on, he basically descends to everyone else's level anyway.

The second is a domineering ML. Like, have really, really come to loathe this over-used type of ML. For quite a while, I thought he wasn't as bad as most, that he was more interesting and you could kind of see that, even though he sometimes tended to be a little teasing/difficult, he quietly supported the MC at times.

Once their relationship began to fully develop, so too did all of the aspects I like least about his character, rather than the opposite that I'd hoped for. He continually orders him around along with everyone else, throws him under the bus as the whim takes him, treats the girl who he's genuine friends with with fifty times more respect and a few other things that would be spoilers but are completely not OK for me. I should add here that he is far from the worst ML I've read. If you are not particularly bothered by the stereotypical ML, then a lot of his behaviour may seem mild, and there are definitely some very sweet moments, but I'm just not enjoying this relationship dynamic.

I can see potential for it to evolve into something more satisfactory, but I've been waiting and waiting, constantly hoping the next chapter will improve and it hasn't. Instead it's become more frustrating.

The final key thing that is irritating me is how much of the plot is actually centering around boy-in-puberty supidity and le*dness. I don't even read het stories with constant boy-talk about b**bs and stuff, so why do I have to constantly be confronted with it in BL?? It's just not at all interesting to me nor something I have time for. Some things are downright s*xual harassment but it's supposed to be OK because it's from the main ensemble of characters and they're just a silly bunch of larakins. Just no.

For now, I've reached my limit with this story. It has the potential to improve, but I don't know how much boredome and irritation I'm going to have to experience before it happens, and there's always the possibility it never will.

If you are like me and are irritated by those things, then I can't recommend this. If you're one of those who don't mind the domineering ML, the crass le*dness pretending to be humourous, and the MC getting manipulated and led around by the ML (and even other characters who are supposed to be more idiotic than him), then you'll be able to really enjoy the positive things about this story. If you're one of those, I recommend this for you to try. <<less

At this point the story is actually going now where. This is nice if you're looking for a story just to passed by. And very uncomfortable with Zhi li and So yuyuan relationship. They're not in love but seeing you partner always with somebody else being so close and acting so protective with each other and acting like a husband is wife is a big no no

A beautidful yet hilarious story. The MC is adorable, the ML is unrivalled, and thereks unexpected plot twists at every corner.

To be honest the flow and detail of this story is slightly lacking because of the twists, some parts of the story seem spontaneous and unplanned so it doesn’t match the flow of the story as well as it could have but the characters and their relationships and interactions make up for it.

The conflicts are resolved as quickly, and sometimes as randomly, as they appear but this is one of... more>> the things that I LOVE about this story. Nothing is dragged out and what will be, will be... even if the hows and whys etc are not what’s expected lol.

I was torn between 4 and 5 but in the end the overall factor of the story makes me lean more towards the 5.

This is not a story to take seriously, yet it’s not one to be underestimated. <<less

Read up to the latest translated chapter (Thank you so much to the translators) and am loving it.

There's a good cast of quirky characters, funny shenanigans, surprise deepness and emotions. Each character is rather unique and together, it was fun to see their adventures. I love the interactions between the MC and the rest, especially with ML. There's more to them than the comedy and sometimes those emotions really hit hard (I wasn't expecting it, I thought this would be some comedy slapstick plot the whole way).

Good enough for me... more>> to consider reading the rest right away and highly recommended if one is looking for a fun, modern day tale. <<less

By far the most interesting Angelina work that has been/is currently being translated. While she retained her usual gong here, it's the shou who stood out, making her usual characterization with Ke Bu more three-dimensional. This makes the novel a lot more exciting and different from a standard Angelina story especially whenever the two interacts with each other. Plot is still unclear tho as to what would really happen when you happen to read only the translation.
