Novel absolutely not recommended to read.

This novel was sponsored by Final Fantasy lol, MC hunting chaos all story long.

MC is a “crosser” from a peaceful world who becomes a noble son. Lots of events happen suddenly: Mc’s dad dies, Mc’s evil uncle takes over, an evil Wilson guy attacks, a dark chaos time/space gate opens etc. It only gets more and more dramatic.

However, the novel continues to become worse and worse as it goes on. The absolute nonsense that is volume 3 and 4 drag on and on (Mc’s waifu... more>> blade is sick. MC does nothing to help her and even forgets to save her), and the further volumes compound this issue. The author tends to raise a whole lot of random issues and flags yet not resolve anything. There’s endless amounts of garbage backstory, lots of bad reactions to Mc’s illogical super leveling, superficial world building, and over ridiculous slow paced talking. The author said they were a fan of the Amber sword Novel and they seemed to take all the worst parts of it.

The overbloated focus on leveling the Mc’s enemies also compound this issue. There is no real rest period within the novel either, with the only brevity/comedy being one of two options: 1) Mc’s waifu blade looks underage so MC is causing forced child labor. 2) MC looks so scary! People are scared at how tough and manly MC is with his super killing intent etc.

The ending of the novel is horribly unsatisfying and rushed, the mid portion of the novel makes no sense since MC isn’t rushing leveling as much, and so many times MC is shown to be a completely brainless moron rushing into battles and getting injured by holding back. -900Octillion/10 Disappointing tr*sh. <<less

TLDR I registered this account specifically to review this novel, it's good enough to get you hooked, but infuriating enough to make you wonder whether you should waste your time on it

Started out really liking this novel, it has a great cultivation system, mysterious enough to not take you out of the story but still with good links to understandable concepts, the world is interesting and the (actually meaningful) sidecharacters have meaningful impacts on the story, it should've been at least a 4 star review, but.. The author explains... more>> too damn much, you'll get three or four exposition dump chapters in a row and then MAYBE a full chapter to progress the story, even to the point that I think they forget the plotpoints introduced. It's gotten to the point where I keep procrastinating finishing the novel because I can't take another chapter talking about some random character only seen twice giving us their point of view, or learning about the culture, industrial development and whole life story of some alien race that gets used for the plot (when they actually get to it) for those few chapters the MC is there and because of the nature of the story there are a lot of aliens..
Spoiler

a couple hours after writing this review, I found out this novel is basically dark souls fan fiction, the core setting is literally the same except the novel is a multiverse which I guess are the different areas in the game and judging by the chapter titles it ends the same

[collapse]

i've edited my review a couple times now because I honestly can't decide whether I like this novel or not. Cultivation is interesting and the fight scenes only get better but at the same time the author loves to overexplain, to the point where I think over half the novel is exposition, doesn't follow up on several plotpoints, even when they would seem relevant to bring up, I personally believe this is because the author either accidentally introduced them in all the expo dumps or were introduced intentionally but were left out due to other constraints, maybe they were even meant to remain as mysteries, I haven't read anything else from the author so I don't know their style

First 2 chapters make no sense first time reading it. Jumps about way to f*cking much. Terrible novel with lack of creativity. Says he reincarnated into ankther world, that is a game he plays. Leveling system is crap. Legendary is level 100ish, he is already at 30.

Three things that made this novel missed the opportunity to be a perfect 5 stars novel for me.

1. Author's words bloating which in my opinion somehow way worst than Mao Ni did in some of his/her novels.

2. Translator excessive used of Japanese term in a Chinese novel that was translated to English speaking CHINESE novel fans. It's so weird it break the fun of reading the novel. Imagine if Dragon ball z translator use the words such Guī zú attack instead of Kamehameha use the name Wukong instead of Goku,... more>> or use Capcay to replace Vegetta.

3. Poor man Guts as MC character. If only the author went full man Guts than it might fit perfectly in my opinion. <<less

It's decent at best. MC is kind of a musclehead/alpha-male; not an idiot. Goes straight at things with some thought out plan (more or less). Battle scenes are alright. Translation is pretty good. Typical transmigration to VRMMO game with some gaming elements thrown around. Lots of info dump and word padding, so I find it annoying to read frivolous information. ESPECIALLY, when there is an incongruity with the information provided.

Spoiler

Author explains that there are Divine Armaments (Living Weapons; essentially humanoids that can transform into a weapon). Goes on to explain that they're created using a piece of their owners, and when the Master of the weapon dies, the Divine Armament is buried with its Master. Chapter 54 then throw some random sh*t saying the Divine Armament basically walked the land before.

Here's an excerpt from Chapter 54:

"She could clearly remember one of the worst ones [one of the worst scenes]. When she was here last time, the fortress had been breached. The city was set ablaze in flames. Black smoke was seen everywhere across the city."

Like wtf was the author smoking when he was writing this chapter. Just feels like he's just throwing random information as he goes along with it (Since he didn't fully explain their intelligence, initially indicating that their memories were basically uploaded from a template). Maybe it's shared memory, but that was never mentioned so far.

Anyway, if you're looking for something to read to kill time; this is a read for you. Just don't expect much from it and enjoy it as it is.

Rating Review: 3.5/5 Stars

If it gets worst or better, the further I read into this, then I'll update this review. <<less
