Have you ever read that arc where the MC goes into a forest and hunts demonic beasts? Well about 60% of the story so far is just that. Within each of those arcs, there are multiple repetitions of the MC getting absurdly lucky, stealing the kills of others' battles, and killing all witnesses (these are LONG arcs). It gets incredibly repetitive.

The other 40% is tournaments arcs. The arcs in this story go on for way, way too long, and the slow translation speed combines with that resulting in ultimate nothingness.

Everything... more>> else is what you'd expect. Tr*sh MC gets talent fixed, wins tournaments, consistent beats higher level opponents, etc.

I still enjoyed this story for a while, but it can devolve very quickly. <<less

Put it off on chapter 90, rate 2.

The Six Immortals is a relatively subpar novel among its genre. It started off mediocre and developed unapologetically repetitive. Here we have a weakling met his lucky encounter, stood out in a tournament, then went to get experience. That’s the mediocre part. But then the MC entered a seemingly endless rout of meet new friend-meet cliche enemies-fight-rob-meet new friend-meet enemy-fight-rob-meet new friend-meet enemy-fight-rob... which went on till chapter 90. Further worsen the matter was its lack of proper hook and its monotone action... more>> sequence. Enough’s enough, so I called it quit at this point.

It’s not absolutely bad, though. You may find this story relaxing, as I can also see it as a slice-of-life, xuanhuan style. The world construct were not bad, too. Beside of that, the translator was good and did pretty fast work. Some might like it. There's also the possibility that the story will get out of its endless rout in the near future (because the thought of it goes on till hundreds or even more than a thousand makes me shudder). <<less

The main character is tr*sh. Not his cultivation or combat skills, but his personality. He's overly clingy, he'll randomly declare someone he meets best friends instantly, or not, with no actual reasons given either way... He's not only willing to take advantage of people in trouble, he's also willing to go out of his way to rob and kill strangers for no reason other than they're rivals of some guy he just met. In any other story, he'd be the character who tries to kill the protagonist for accidentally touching... more>> hands with the sect's most beautiful woman, or because the protagonist didn't worship the ground his friend steps on. There don't really seem to be any redeeming qualities.

As for the other characters, well, they also tend to pick their friends and enemies at random too. And for the story, it's very much the same way, the protagonist decides to do something and does it. Then he decides to do something else and does that, very abruptly. It doesn't feel like there's any long-term goal or motivation; the bit about bullying was resolved almost instantly, and from there he just acted like a puppet. Go here, do this, go there, do that. And there's not enough world-building early on to justify giving it more time. The pace of the story is fast enough, but it's just too disjointed to be a good story.

The translation is decent enough, so there's no reason not to read it if you're bored and don't have anything else on your reading list, but don't expect to especially enjoy it either. <<less

This novel is rated in the all-time top five of its genre on 17k and Qidian, according to a friend on reddit (didn't bother to check it myself).

As for the story, we'll its a mix and match in the beginning, the things are too short, the other are long and repetitive, but by the time you get to 100+ chapters, you tend to realize the beauty of its creation.

It's a classic Xianxia, and i'd recommend it for the fans of the genre, but read past 120 chapters before you... more>> pass a judgement.

(PS: I don't get why it's rating is so low....) <<less

Ch.117

A Good read..

Honestly when the first time ive read T6I. I was looking down on it since it follow the usual xuanhuan/xianxia trend, only this novel was more inclined on training which is annoying. BUT now, when you read it carefully. You will see the novel was developing in a good way. Character development was good, side character development was also improving. World building is quite nice. Overall it was worth the read.

Before judging, read past until ch.100. Recommended for xuanhuan/xianxia fan.

As of Chapter 99

I drop this once because Novelsaga's annoying chapter dividing. I return reading since they fix it and you can read it normally. Now This novel is full of repeated scene. For example, Adventure --> Kill Steal Enemies --> Train then repeat again. There is no main plot MC just keep on training without fix goal and when the MC enter the Abyss to Train it start to get annoying.
Spoiler

MC with his Friends Started Kill Stealing over and over again. Never ending training. The battle scene is like a huge recycle of the previous battle. To much similarity that only the names of enemies had change. It good at first but once you keep on reading the same thing it becomes annoying.

[collapse]

Author I think has bad habit of explaining useless and unnecessary side characters!
Spoiler

I mean most of there Enemies are famous this famous that. From some Major exaggerated Sect so on and so on, It took must words in every chapter explaining backgrounds how famous this characters and by the next chapter they Died in a few sentences.

Seriously disappointing and like I said it often happen a couple of times when random person appear came from some famous major sect then they want to Kill and steal from MC group and end up dying. If they are just gonna die at least save as a trouble of having to read there backgrounds. The story can move forward even if this random characters is not introduce.

[collapse]

After chapter 99 I decided to drop it.

Spoiler

MC and his group still inside devil abyss TRAINING. Yeah its so boring. A repeated Kill this Steal this train that kind of thing. The battle scene already lost its meaning

It’s an average Xianxia. Although it’s entertaining enough to read, it’s not exactly a good novel either.
There’s a couple of points that bother me while reading this story. (and may eventually cause me to drop this)
And those points cause the demerits that makes me give this only 3 out of 5 stars.

– The battles are lacking substance. The training parts are also lacking. It all pretty much exists out of “name the technique”. There’s often hardly any explanation as to what the training technique entails. You mostly... more>> have to guess from the name of the technique itself.
Although this is perhaps not entirely justified when I say this; but the battles mostly exist out of ‘he uses this technique’ and finishes off his opponent with ‘that technique’. Some battles are even glossed over entirely.
Whatever he’s training, it goes like this: He obtains this technique, the technique does this, he trains it. Done. It’s immensely lacking in details. So this pretty much makes all the consequent battling he does very lame, as you have no clue to what he’s actually doing.
Which is a pretty bad thing for a xianxia. So most of the enjoyment you get out of this novel will purely come from the interactions, rather than the battles. (and I must add the interactions are... average too)

– Any characters the MC encounters are pretty bland and forgettable. Sometimes I even wonder “huh, when did that guy show up” or “who the hell is that again?”.

– The MC itself is also rather forgettable I’m afraid. Unlike some novels, I don’t remember the MC’s name until I resume reading the next released chapter. (sadly this isn’t the only novel where that happens, and partly might be contributed to the fact I’m bad at remembering names, lol. But it’s still a factor)

Again... it’s not a bad novel, but it’s not a good one either. There are certainly points that could use improvement. So far I’m not overly impressed with it.
I do intend to keep reading, even if I’m having a rather hard time mentioning the good things in this novel. There must be some? surely? why else would I read it? Hopefully another reviewer can point those out.

(read upto Ch.52 as of this review) <<less

It actually had the potential to be really good. But unfortunately the story really isn't fleshed out. Feels more like the outline of a story, or the bones of the story. So it stops me from being immersed. The plot itself is cliche but in an interesting way. SO it isn't bad, but I can't say it is good either. I hope this gets a rewrite or something.

I'm sorry but this story is too plain. It feels like I'm reading a rough draft. We can't see the reasons or thoughts the Characters do what they do. The MC logic is childish. I hate how all of this started.

Though I wanted to read more out of curiosity, I stopped. The writing construction is really bad. I had really high hopes for this too...

I thought this will be a great story, but when he go training and got companions, I just don't like how the story goes on. Kill and rob. Author said the MC is not vile heart, but for me, he is just another villain that live because he is MC. I read until translated chapter 124. Not all chapter though because I just skim (with page down or end button) or just read the title of chapter.

If there is a chance the story will good for me, I will change... more>> my rate.

It is hard to explain, but I did not like the flow of the story. The story moves along too fast. It is the extreme opposite of some wuxia/Xuanhuan novels where a whole chapter plus is used to explain one cultivation technique or skill.

Normally I would have long since dropped this, but, I really love demonic/devil/evil cultivation methods.
The main characters name describes him quite well. If it wasn't for the completely bullsh*t lucky chance causing him to gain incredible helpful and op items, he would be the most ordinary boring guy that you could find anywhere. I really dislike the MCs thought process, though it does make sense, as he was an ordinary guy with an awful social status. He thinks of himself too lowly despite obviously gaining incredible items, which even... more>> a beggar should understand the value of, but he thinks hes not worthy of any of the women. Another think I dislike is how convenient everything is, putting aside the obviously bullsh*t at the beginning, the enemies who are literally hired to assassin the MC play around, and give him time to do potentially kill them. How s*upid is that? There is also blatant plot armour, which the MC somehow doesnt f*cking notice despite the fact that it is literally coming out of his body.. The last problem I have with the novel is the power system. The power system is quite boring and strength differences between levels aren't defined as the MC can jump levels like its nothing. <<less

The novel starts out good only because of the story and setting but then it turns out that the MC is pretty much a idiot, starts fights recklessly, only knows how to exchange insults, has a garbage personality, and has low IQ. Not sure why Chinese people are into web novels that only know how to exchange insults but a pro-tip to future writers, once your novel's dialogue is nothing but insult exchanging, it removes the reader from his/her immersion extremely fast; Don't use it as a form of setting/building... more>> up for a fight. <<less

Review as of Ch9. Spoilers ahead, to illustrate the speed of the novel's pacing.

The story proceeds extremely quickly. The first chapter introduces the MC (barely, we don’t know anything except he was adopted and weak) and immediately was thrown into peril by bullies. The second chapter had him get a fortuitous ‘purification’ encounter that changes his physique, in the third chapter he finds the usual magical items (weapon, spatial ring, storage), Ch4 has him meeting beautiful women who are suspicious of him and yet inexplicably recruits him as a gardener... more>> an area where there are only women (and of course, the superiors of his bullies), Ch5 and 6 are about him given a martial arts by them to practice for no apparent reason and the title of Chapter 7 is already about him confronting one of the bullies of his past. Ch8 has the inklings of a tournament/competition for a future arc, and the usual encounter with a rare pet-like creature.

It’s formulaic, it’s pretty bland thus far. None of the characters after 8 chapters stand out in any way yet, like unmotivated actors reciting lines on a stage, existing for the sake of existing. I don’t find myself empathizing with the MC at all. I have the impression that these initial chapters are like a flashback montage in a film, existing to quickly establish setting before the “good stuff”.

There is nothing yet to hint about the novel’s name. I won’t be continuing to read it, maybe later when the translations are in the hundreds I will be back to revisit it.

However, as far as a xianxia novel go, it is compactly written. For those who are reluctant to sink into the 300-400ish chapters of other series, this could be a good introduction to the genre. The translation is good and the releases are consistent, and it seems the translator is highly motivated to finish it which is always a plus. <<less

The plot its kinda simple and dumb, but I liked it till now.

one of the few novels where the MC has actual friends, and grow together with them.

From what I've read in the translated novel's profile, it is over 1k chapters long. Given that factor, it is no wonder many are impatient for the next multitude of chapters to get translated due to a slow plot-building method of the original author. In conclusion, those who enjoy short plots (novels with just above 30 chapters or so of rising action, climax, and denouement) will be greatly disappointed with a detailed non-Western work of literature. (Side note: If they like fantasy with basic and catching plot, they could... more>> just read the Harry Potter series from beginning to the latest novel release by Ms. Rowling.)

As for those who enjoy long stories with some degree of repetition every now and then, this is your treat! <<less
