I was delighted while reading, it is simple, but well done, the personality of the two main characters and their descriptions seduce you into the story. Also, the plot twist at the final part was a treat for me.

The fluff is somehow forced and thus not as smooth and sweet as I'd expect. Their romance as a whole is absolutely adorable and heart-touching though. The proposal scenario was so good, so brilliant.

It squeezed my heart a little bit at the part that young Darius sold his sword to gather enough money to afford the stone for his beloved lady. And it was Shiris' most precious thing kept with her all the time when she worked hard and endured everything in the capital city to support her land.

Overall this is a fresh breeze of a short love story, with some interesting extra storytelling about how actually it'd be after the heroine got her "happy ever after ending".

Spoiler

Oh my I really love it that Darius is a reliable sweetheart yet also a lowkey yandere whose only restraint is his beloved lady Shiris. That bad end in which he lost his restraint and revealed his dark self was literally hell.

Honestly, it wasn't that bad. This story squeezed my heart a bit, lol. But compared to most otome light novels it's pretty well done I guess. I would recommend this short story for those who want a break (cause that's what I did xD)

Got to say, this really does have some elements aimed at a female audience that you wouldn't find in ones aimed at males, you just don't get the "passionate love" that girls appreciate

Instead of an otome game with fairytale elements, it's more of a fairytale in otome game setting.

I came to think so because of the last part.

While the story isn't the usual comedic "villainess runs away from/runs towards her destruction end", it's still a very charming love story, and it only takes a few words to feel a myriad of emotions.

It's totally not the otome game she knew anymore. Does that mean that's Anna's fate in the game? See, a person plays an otome game and strives for a happy ending with that prince. They get it and Anna and the prince are together now. And then the person somehow finds out that after that, Anna and the prince don't have a happy conclusion... that's definitely bad for an otome game. Well, Shiris did act differently and there are rumors that the prince came to like her, so I guess Anna just had a bad end of sorts. But if the prince didn't love Shiris and he couldn't have a child with Anna... he won't have 32 concubines... will he? That just ruins the whole otome game and would be weird for a heroine with a halo (or a lot of good luck) . I guess the change of the storyline cursed these two to live in misery for what they did? And that's why I said this is a fairytale set in an otome game.

Super beautiful romance, but I wish it wasn't another "reincarnated into an otome game" novel because then that brings into question the personality of MC; for example, most reincarnation novels have OOC to some extent and this novel didn't really have that split personality between the game her and modern her. In this case, the reincarnation from modern world into game world creates a really noticeable and irreconcilable disjoint in that she practically reincarnates super late, whereas her game self's PAST as well as the results of her actions in... more>> the "game" play a large part in her feelings with the ML. Having her reincarnated-from-the-future self falling in love with him, to me, doesn't make as much sense because that wasn't really "her, " who at this point is like a mix between modern and game MC.

I mean there is definitely room to argue that she is still her game self. She could just have "memories from the game" or she could still be predominantly her game self while her modern self is simply there to smack her back to reality (same thing), but honestly rather than having such a meaningless and unnecessary add-in like "reincarnating from the future with memories from a game, " why not just make her a reborn villainess?? Same results, more impact--because this short story made her situation seem more like a "second chance" kind of scenario (when you read the story, you would have a 90% of agreeing with me on this point).

It would have been perfect if it were simply a reborn novel, but alas. <<less

Story MC is the otome game story villainess who decides to go off script and stumbles on her own true love adventure, while otome game world MC seems to have taken a bad route in this world. Was a fluffy read for an afternoon.
