She transmigrated into an orphan, thinking that she still had her boyfriend with her, yet in an instant, her world crashed. For the position of heir, he said, “Yao’er, why don’t you become my second wife?” A sentence destroyed her wishful thinking, causing her to end their relationship of two lives cruelly. Leaving the hustle bustle, she then lived in a forest, wanting to find an honest man to spend the rest of her life with. But not long after getting married, she realized that the honest man she married was a bit dishonest.

“Are you not an ordinary hunter?” she stared at the man pretending to be innocent in a furious manner. Is the ending going to be this way? Of course not, the story had just begun from the moment she changed her future.

The writing isn’t terrible by any means and the interactions between the MC and ML are very sweet and engaging. They get together quickly and seem to be a solid couple all the way through.

If you just want a story with some nice romantic interaction between the main couple and the regular absolute crushing of the many who act against them then you may like this.

I couldn’t finish it. There is just no tension because the main couple are ridiculously overpowered and their foes are rock s*upid, to the point... more>> of self destruction.

Spoilers below, what made me give up on the story.

Spoiler

The MC was kinda overpowered from the start. Extraordinarily smart, with an incredible insight into people and almost insane business acumen. It even turns out that by pure dumb luck she’s sworn sibling to a group who are shadowy power brokers who could cripple a nation if they wished. At least this seems to be a little balanced by her physical weakness, as shown when she gets captured. Except no, turns out she’d had her meridians sealed and is actually a once in a lifetime Kung fu genius.

And then the final bit that made me drop, soon after they’re in the capitol a young noble miss sees the ML and decides she must have him, making a spectacle of herself in public and tr*shing her family’s reputation without the MC lifting a finger. Soon after they’re all at a formal event at the palace. The one place anyone with any sense whatsoever would know they need to mind their behavior. That same young miss hijacks this ceremonial occasion to make a production of playing music and brazenly, rudely challenges the MC, even hurling her instrument in a tantrum.... In front of the emporer and basically everyone of importance. That’s it. Through no effort on the MC’s part this chick has ruined herself and her whole family. MC can just sit back and continue sipping tea. But instead a MC rises to the occasion and plays a particularly hard to master instrument. And not only does she play well, she’s so legendarily talented that birds are summoned despite it being night. Something only spoken of in old tales.

[collapse]
.

That was it for me. The author made everyone who opposed the main couple so incredibly s*upid that they basically defeat themselves. And the MC isn’t allowed to not be good at something. Not just good, her skills are the stuff of myth and legend. She’s like a combo of Chuck Norris memes and The Most Interesting Man on Earth, except we’re supposed to be awed and take her seriously. <<less

Interesting idea but boring execution. The characters are all very cardboard cut out with little depth, even the MC and ML. Id probably like it more if the antagonists were a little smarter and the MC had to struggle a little more. I hate to throw around 'mary sue' since plenty of male main characters are over powered but this MC would be boring regardless of gender. She waltzes through life like it's made of candy!

The start was ok but it becomes horrendously repetitive and character portrayals are beyond bland, especially between the main female and male character.

It took 40+ chapters for the male lead to appear, before that we keep being subjected to the same 2 mini villainess and their shrew families (I say mini because of how s*upid they are made to be) and to my great disappointment, the 2 main characters barely say anything to each other and we as readers are supposed to feel like they "suit" each other for no... more>> reason except for vague descriptions such as how they play chess and talk with each other in companionship throughout the afternoon or encounters where they say a few short sentences to each other.

The female lead is portrayed as someone of few words and cold, this originates from her being betrayed so it is understandable, but then you add the male character that while is not described as cold, says not much either! Add to this a F rank plot plus one dimensional characters and you get a 1 star disappointment. <<less

I liked the premise better than the story itself. MC transmigrates into a 'primitive' world (which later transforms into a xianxia world) with the love of her former life.... and then is told by the Ex-Boyfriend he wants to marry a Princess for power and money but plans to keep her on the side with the rest of his concubines. She says "hell, naw" and goes off to live her own life. Then it goes straight to crap.

Spoiler

She moves into a remote mountain village and is "bullied" by the villains. The villains are pubescent village girls who seem to have IQs in the single digits. The MC takes a hundred chapters to deal with them (I mean seriously they're dumb 12-14 year olds!) When she (a person with literally over 40 years of life experience) eventually defeats them, she then has to deal with her ex-boyfriends crazy wife. It gets progressively s*upider and s*upider and more and more xianxia.

3*

I'm enjoying this story so far. The plot advancement (as well as the romance, and the reveal of peoples backgrounds and such) is quite slow, but it's not boring despite the slow overall pace. There's a mix of schemes and slice of life. The adversaries aren't much, and are mostly petty villagers at the moment. I like reading about the Main Character building her life more anyway, as I said it's not boring. I'm looking forward to learning more about her.

Also the Male Lead is not a cold seemingly unfeeling... more>> man with expressionless beauty. Admittedly, the story hasn't interacted with him much up to here, but he seems quite friendly for a ML. Though he doesn't mix much with the villagers, it seems more out of a desire for solitude and peace than because of innate aloofness. It's a nice change from a lot of other MLs out there.

edit: I'm now on chapter 180, and I take back what I said about the romance being slow, it takes a while to get started, but once they start to know each other and interact with each other it goes fairly fast (though in a fairly natural way, I think). And I confirm that the ML is quite approachable. There's no cold shoulder, or waiting in silence for the FL's reaction, it's such a nice change!

I'd give it 4* except that sadly the English translation is rather poor, the translator doesn't seem to be fluent in English. So long as I understand what's going on I'm happy to overlook that. I've been using an online translator to read ahead, after all, and if you've ever done that, you know that it might be enough to get the gist of the story but there will occasionally be whole paragraphs that make no sense whatsoever. With the official translation at least everything is understandable. Though I can overlook it for myself, it's impossible not to notice, and in a review I feel obliged to say that if you're the kind of person who's mind will cringe every time the word "borrow" is used instead "lend" several times in a chapter (as in "hey MC you're rich! You borrowed money to your friend so easily, so why won't you borrow me money now?") you might want to brace yourself ahead of time (this is the most blatant mistake, the others aren't as noticeable). <<less

It started off well but I'm getting the feeling all the enemy characters are idiots. An irrational selfish idiot.

Spoiler

The also-reincarnated bf is an idiot, who doesn't even realise he's an idiot for proposing to a modern woman that she should be his 2nd wife.

The first "friend" character we see is selfish, petty, and extremely 2D. Techniques of any kind back then were usually kept secret as they are the key to success. So you don't lightly ask for one.

[collapse]

Helpful, friendly supporting cast seem kinda 2D, but they are moderate, at any rate.

Will update as I go. <<less

hmmm. The first two chapters are nice. I got interested when I read the summary, but boy oh boy, it went downhill.

It would have been nice if it focused first with the two lovers who transmigrated, maybe some or more background about them. I wanted to know the MC's personality to like her, and well I can't like the MC for some reason after reading 9 ch.

also, somehow, I can't get into the story, I always felt like there's something missing. And I kind of gotten bored from reading cause... more>> I felt like these chapters are fillers and unnecessary (I wanted her to encounter the ML which I think she did already but there's no spark of interest from me).

I find this story bland, and well, I'm thankful for the translation but it's bad tho it is still understandable. <<less

It started off nicely. Then, the characters and plot became unhinged/repetitive. I give up.

The story started off in a nice country setting, and seemed to head in a slice of life direction, but then it took a sharp turn into political intrigue. I wish the story stuck to slice of life.

Couldn’t complete the novel. The FL and ML kept getting pit against lunatic extremely dumb characters. A few of them is ok but this is systematic. No matter which other character that were they also get out against dumb characters and it doesn’t that a lot of those dumbs irrational characters are female and triggered by jealousy/envy. Besides that the story doesn’t progress well. The FL is very strong but for some reason always ending up relying on someone else, most of the time the ML, which contradict her strong... more>> persona. The 3 stars are for the the translator work and the first hundred chapters that I enjoyed.

now it’s not a bad novel just not my cup of tea. <<less

I am just going to give this story 3 stars because I think 3 stars is like, kind of neutral territory where, like: it is not where I hate it but not where I love it either.

A lot of reviews so far have pointed out the repetitiveness of this story, which is true and you/reader really start noticing it later on in the story, like further on in the chapters.

I am noticing lots of readers love this story in beginning but then as the story goes on they... more>> tend to lose interest or skip around throughout the story. So, I guess what I am saying is good starting point but lack of readers attention the more they read the story (I agree, I'm losing attention and any desire to read this story).

Lots of financial stuff if the reader (s) like that kind of thing.

Any Romance doesn't seem "hot or spicy" but I guess that could change considering I'm only on chapter 147 (it is slow going in my opinion). <<less

The plot is so flimsy, you poke it a little and boom! Plot hole. A lot of it.

Horrible dialogues.

I always say that MCs intelligence can be measured by intelligent villains. And this novel have no shortage of s*upid, idiotic and brain dead villains. So MCs smarts? Not impressed. But she's okay.

ML is okay too. Actually both leads are okay, it's just the execution of everything in this novel that makes me think the author is insulting my intelligence over and over.

At start I like it and it was okey... While the story flows, it getting worst and worst and messy. So I dropped it the part of the Real Father of the MC and her real identity reviled plus that Bug/poison Gu of which part of the world it is.

Still 3 star for the effort of the Author and translator.

Oops. I put 1 star but I meant to put 3 stars for the translator effort to translate this.

Here's why I put 3 star:

1) The pacing in this story is TERRIBLE.

... more>> 2) I think someone, many people probably, have wrote this in this review section but I'm gonna write it again. They keep saying "this will the last over and over" again to their enemies, but what they do? Pretty much nothing. Just because their enemies are insignificant. Insignificant my ass.

Anyway, I hate the way they deal with their enemies the most. Maybe the author trying to potray the MC&ML as magnanimous or something, but s/he fail EPICALLY and cause the reader (s) to HATE the characters.

3) I'm not gonna start writing about the romance because imho, the romance started out of no where. It's so one dimensional. I-

Anyway, thank you so much to the translator for taking your time to translate this novel. I love you and I love your effort. Maybe you can find a better project to do next time. GOOD LUCK! <<less

This is an okay story if you want to read something mind numbing for a bit and don't really care about plot holes and the characters having high IQ.

There's a fair bit of face slapping which feels pretty good but it's dampened by the fact that the antagonists keep hanging around for no good reason apart from the MC is too confident and doesn't care to deal with them. But really the author just wants to be able to use the same characters over and over again to bother MC.

There's... more>> also a weird feeling when I'm reading, like one characters telling one character something and they get shocked, then they go and tell another character the same thing, who also gets shocked. Or maybe one character says something, and then the author described what just happened. A crude example would be like: "What do you mean?", he didn't understand what he meant.

Characters also have really obvious one-dimensional thoughts, despite what I'd expect from the setting.

It all feels quite clichéd and like the characters are caricatures, almost.

The MC is also too OP in my opinion. Every now and then when something happens BOOM it's revealed she can do this and that and everyone's shocked and wow she's so amazing.

Spoiler

One thing that really bothered me is when they were expecting someone to kidnap her, they had ML and another guard to protect her. For some reason, they didn't expect so many enemies I suppose, when ML was occupied, she sent out the other guard to help despite previously agreeing for there to always be one guy by her side defending her because there's no way anything would happen to her, right?

Wrong. She got kidnapped and bad things happened. They were surprised and regretted it. Even though it was so predictable. Quite frustrating.

[collapse]

Having said all this, I enjoy reading it, but only when I've got nothing better to do. <<less

Pacing is terrible. Recommend letting an 'arc' finish before reading it all in one go.

The author uses a lot of obvious foreshadowing but doesn't really deliver on it.

Repetitive storyline with terrible antagonists.

Flat characters.

Really nothing special with this story. Can't believe I spent 213 chapters on it already.

As others have said, the things that are interesting about this story are completely overshadowed by pointless and unbelievable 'drama' from the villains. This could have been a very nice slice of life about a small town with a slow romance and engaging characters, but every time things are going nicely, the author decides that there has to be drama and has people with the thinnest motivations behave in ways that would shame a 6 year old. This book really needed a forceful editor. What a waste.

The story itself seems already got so far, its a relaxing read about an independent girl leading a simple country life.

However ther translation has multiple grammar errors which make it not too pleasant to read. They should consider reaching out to a editor. So I'm going to drop this as the quality of the translation is getting worst each chapter.

This is a typica transmigration CN

The antagonistsssssssssssss are just wayyyy to dumb and unreasonable. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad (it's a 4).

Spoiler

Romance is slow but there. Steady and realistic.

Female MC is typical. Beautiful, graceful, smart, and powerful (not magic or powers sh*t but she has the means to do the things she want.)

Male MC is a cutie. I LOVE. For FMC, he learns how to cook and do household stuff. Very nice. He's also typical ishh since he's like Yun Xiao.

The annoying people are not just bad but also dumb. And I hate how the author designed them to be like that. They are utterly unreasonable and dumb. Ex. Yang Shui Er, till the end, she still thinks she's this good ass hoe that's better than anyone. Like she does something bad, gets owned and then asks for forgiveness and then the next day repeat. Same sh*t for the others. It's almost as if they ALL don't understand. I've read many CN and I have to say that these types of antagonists are one of the most frustrating ones.

In other CN, at least the pattern is mostly like this bad guy does something bad, fails, suffers, then they "become stronger" then repeat sh*t until they die. But here, it's Bad guy does something bad, fails, suffers, asks for forgiveness, give them 2 mins they come back saying "if you ask for my forgiveness/help now, I might consider it you sl*t." ? Like where did that come from??? It's s*upid! Not to mention it's repetitive- no, THAT'S THE ONLY THING THEY DO.

It is a nice story about soul that transmigrate to ancient times. It is a little sad for the girl at the beginning where someone who should have together with her actually to choose another woman. I really hope the background of the MC will be out soon.

Anyone knows where to find machine translation for this novel. I can't wait to read the next chapter of it. ≫<.

And people that already reach hundreds chapter, do you read them raw in chinese? Or what and where?
