Well, here we have the usual slice of life isekai that the Japanese appear to love so much. Not surprising, given their work ethics but let's not talk about that.

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear (also known as Gotta Catch'em All: Loli edition) is a simple and cute story about your usual high school student (well, technically) that is transported into a fantasy world with the obligatory cheat abilities.

Now, what does the MC do with her newfound powers? Well, not much.

Miss Yuna (or Bloody Bear if you want) is a kind-hearted but... more>> lazy as f*ck young girl whose main goal is to live in peace. Her OPness is there only to ensure that nothing can threaten this (and also to help her to make pizza and pudding, because no one can live without those).

The story doesn't really get any deeper than this but if you are looking for a story in which cute girls do cute things, then this story is greatly recommended. <<less

This is that kind of cute, happy-go-lucky, slice of life story. It has no amazing plot and is just the MC is living her life. She's OP and everything goes her way and there aren't any plot twists.

Despite everything, I quite enjoyed reading the story. It's very heartwarming. Basically, if you have nothing to do, go for it, but don't expect to be amazed.

One of the best novels out there. I don't want to spoil anything, so I am going to be brief.

Read this novel if:

1) You like OP protagonists who are not pathetic punchbags.

... more>> 2) You like cute things. I know it sound weird, but this novel revolvs around cute stuff.

3) You like a well-paced story that doesn't dedicate 9000+ chapters to boring fillers.

4) You like characters who really get to appreciate MC and their powers instead of underestimating them for the entire novel.

Don't read this if:

1) You like pathetic characters, who get hated and underestimated by everyone.

2) You hate Bears. Seriously, if you hate bears for some reason, this novel will probably kill you.

3) You hate food. Although it is not as preminent as some review might make it seem, food is still a big part of the story.

4) You hate overpowered protagonists. In fact, why are you even under the "overpowered protagonist" tag if you hate them ???

5) You love romance and can't bare reading a novel without it. This novel has zero romance, so decide for yourself.

All in all, if I were to describe this novel in 1 word, it would be: B-E-A-R. <<less

This is so much fun!

Just think of it as the daily life of a girl wearing a very OP bear costume. Running around town, defeating monsters left and right and meeting and conducting business with various people in that cute character pajama-like outfit. Sounds fun yet?

Oh! Did I mention she's rich beyond this worlds reaches? Yes, she is super rich but don't worry. She got 'some' common sense... she ain't just gonna go around shoving them in people's faces right? right? right? Well, I guess technically she didn't but you gotta read to see how this little klutz spends her money and use her power.

It's like reading FUNA's novel (if you're into that then you'll be super duper into this).

There is not really an ultimate goal she's working towards. Our cute little bear just wants to spend time having fun and leading a happy life (no, that's not really a flag. so don't worry there's no demon lord, yet, I guess. I hope we never will) Either way, the author him/herself (kumanano?) said that they don't have a clear path that they're taking our bear on. (psst, the author notes are really fun to read so keep an eye out on them). <<less

I think the story itself is cute. Though I have to say that the MC is just like those stereotypical one's with some screws missing haha. With all those things said it's still a cute and heartwarming story through and through.

I don't know how anyone can dislike this. It's a comfy and funny slice of life isekai with an interesting premise I haven't encountered anywhere else with an MC who manages to be effortlessly badass without making a song and dance out of it. If I didn't like new skill acquisition and levelling up I wouldn't be reading isekai but this web novel keeps it to a minimum possibly even the bear minimum. The supporting cast is made up of cute underage girls and astonished adults. The adults never manipulate... more>> Yuna into doing their bidding. As for the fights because she's so OP her priorities in a fight tend to be different from most people as she tries to avoid a lot of blood and gore and preserve the animals hide in order to use it to decorate her house and things of that nature as a result she tends to get rather creative rather than just exploding her enemies or one shotting them right at the start which she usually can't unless they'd made a member of her little sister collection cry <<less

It's ok and cute but gets too repetitive.

MC does something, everybody is shocked, everybody say they wont get surprised no matter what MC does again, MC does something, everybody is shocked, everybody say they wont get surprised no matter what MC does again

It started off cute. The embarrassment from the suit and stuff like that which is what the story is supposed to be about but then it now focus on the OPness of the suit and exaggerated reactions. MC does not even mind the suit anymore.

a very likeable novel. I can easily recommend this to a friend even for a first timer.

It gets things from point A to B. No unnecessary fillers, battle scenes are plain straight forward, she punch it dies, she kicks it dies, she cast magic they die (which the author is bad writing battle scenes which is a good thing since most of the battle scenes in other novel is getting filler-ish thing, I tend to skip it really most of it) its very short but not that lacking, although in... more>> some battle scenes she takes some time to kill them but because she wants the materials. Most scenes tends to get comical most of the time. <<less

Dropped at chapter 75. Might continue when summer starts.

The reason why I dropped this is that the pacing is slow. Up until chapter 75, there is basically no new magic just the same type and it gets really boring. They make the girl super op, which is really awesome but.... no cool magic! If you're reading this in summer you could defiantly read this. IG the slice of life is pretty good.

Read it even if there is hurricane approaching your neighborhood. Very addicting. The only concern is her selfish way of thinking. She promotes child labour, kills innocent wild animals for fur and pelt. And many more. It's best if children don't read it.

I started this novel one day when I decided to kill some time. Around that point there was roughly around 50 chapters or so translated.

Kuma is by far one of my favorite novels to read, it's just so adorable and every chapter makes me want more.

Pro: Main character is a female, Isekai type novel (which in my book is usually always a plus), adorable characters, gives me a good feeling when I read it.

Con: Some things are really over done like introducing Earth knowledge (a lot of it is food... more>> related) to this new world. (Not really a big minus), The fighting scenes are not really 'impressive' but the author acknowledges and beside this novel isn't about fighting a majority of the time. <<less

The Novel is pretty good, the beginning is a lot of fun but the more you read the more you will become bored.

I stopped because there is nothing new since a few chapters, no new characters, no enemies, nothing, it's so fluffy I'm gonna die of boredom : (

It really s just a fluffy Novel without goal other than relaxing and enjoying a simple almost funny read.

... more>> And it is unfortunately not my cup of tea

Alos the translator do an amazing Job and I love the others novels translated on Xant & Minions :) <<less

It's an enjoyable read without the complicated stuff... the world building and character building is shallow but it's not too bad, because it's a very very light read and the story is lax in all aspects. So if you're a reader who has to compose and decompose every part and twist in the story... don't even take a peek, but if you want to relax

Our brain and float about aimlessly, here's a treasure.

I enjoyed this novel for being fun and easy to read. No serious plot or drama, just some casual slice of life and bear comedy. Though one thing did really did turn me off with this novel. I don't want to get into it but I can get the sense the author has a problem with men and it's grating on the nerves.

It was fun at first, with what is basically a bear-themed version of the Tanooki suit from Super Mario in a typical Isekai format. Main character's OP, of course, and has a cool, dry personality. At first, she thinks the suit is embarrassing, but that fades quickly.

Then you get to the typical Isekai pitfalls. The protagonist learns magic and procedes to wipe out armies of monsters. There's not much of a description of the combat other than 'cast bear shaped fireballs.' The enemies are usually monsters who die horribly without... more>> much of a challenge or human scumbags that are, in the exact words of the protagonist, 'template.' When the single chapter fights are over, the isekai food journey begins. I don't know how many times a protagonist in an Isekai has invented pizza and potato chips, but it never helps the plot move along. I skipped to the current chapter (154 from 83) to see if the food plot was still going on, and it was.

The story's basically slice of life (without drama) with generic fantasy flavoring. <<less

This novel was pretty interesting at first, but later on, it becomes repetitive. So far, this story has no plot, and the book just screams THE MC IS AMAZING!!!!!! You’d kinda get the point after reading about 50 chapters, but the author keeps bring up the mc’s abilities and how she can do stuff that other people can’t do, and it becomes really annoying.

If you want to read a book that tells you that the MC is special over and over again, then you should definitely read this. But if... more>> you’re looking for something that actually has a plot and has character development then this is not for you. <<less

This novel have done most of the things it wanted to do in a medium fashion, nothing stands out but it goes well together. Add in that slice of life to it, it became something to read as pass wetime.

It has average comedy, average fights, average writing style, average plot (if it is arc based), overall plot? (It has none), average translation, average characters.

What is it's charm then? It is the charm of putting all of that together and using cliches and a certain situation to make cuteness. I also... more>> think the idea of bear suit is kinda original (can be seen as the extreme of the weak girls that is actually OP troupe).

Spoiler

People often reacts to a girl in bear suit the same way. I already knew most of the time what reaction it would be, but I also continue enjoying it. You could say that the variants of reactions is enough to make it interesting.

[collapse]

All of this makes a novel where the whole thing stands out, pick it apart to pieces then it fails. I say 3.5 as I have enjoy it a lot. <<less

Delightfully light-hearted, but also quite naive and frequently lazy in its writing (e.g. Many things are glossed over because the author couldn't be bothered to flesh them out). The economics also don't seem to work out.

That said, given the story's many shortcomings, it's bizarrely enjoyable. I certainly do appreciate isekai stories without obnoxious main characters.

(Though the above was written at 133c in, and 265c in this lack of focus does become more tiresome, hence the downgrade to 3 stars.)

Whats not to like.

Its light, nothing too political or troublesome, its has bears and its literally a girl in a bear suit.

Its a typical I was transported to another world by God so I will spend my days doing what I want, whenever I want and make my life easier by going out and finding possible solutions to the daily problems she has like how to have decent food and how to make simple things tru bear magic.

Better not block whatever she wants unless you wanna be added to her... more>> "achievements"

Edit:

There are parts that may seem to be a bit slow for some but its part of the story. Just imagine a side quest and everything is still great even 600+ chapters.

Still recommending this to any slow life readers
