That annoying, pushy, and short-fused woman trope is getting cumbersome. Also the MC turning into a wuss every time he interacts with her is s*upid.

Read until Ch.1900th, then all my patience reaches -1, 000 point! Forcing me to DROP this novel.

You need a lot of patience even you have the maximum skip-reading talent.

This novel is about the mixed arrogant-idiot MC who have OP more than IQ. With that infinite OP-ness, he can do everything even with sub-zero IQ. Villain exists just to be stepping stone. No villain have IQ more than an baby s*ave termite, big villain included.

... more>> In the whole story, the very famous 3-comments-from-babbling-carrots occur on every half page.

"How weak the MC is. He definitely can not win! ". Then MC wins. Next : "impossible! How he can win".

MC has zero ability to plan, set trap, uses gimmick, not to say uses brain. His subconcious attitude is : who care having brain? I am MC ! I can OP !

Then, FL. She appeared, disappeared. No romance, no harem, no emotion, no missing. All beauties too, Appeared, then simply disappered after 20 chapters later.

Villain? Well! Already being mentioned above. Appeared, boasting, challenging, killed/disappeared, in 5-20 filling chapters. Repeat 100 times to fill the whole novel.

If you are chunibiao-class reader, this novel is best. If you're not, better waste time reading better novel. <<less

This novel is like all said a cliche but is it's still not like they said awesome alchemy novel. Yes, alchemy is heavily influenced in the story but all we get is ingredient name and 1 or two processes and that's it. Whatever MC concoct is 100% legendary.
Spoiler

Well the first half of it is because he was the one who taught the whole world how to do it. Time travel b*tch.

[collapse]

Well, it is good that every arc is completely different. It is like a cumulative of 4-5 novels but yeah MC using Alchemy as face slapping does follow him everywhere. Well MC does more effort than others to do it and it is highly enjoyable to see it too. <<less

Basically, I would say this novel is entertaining. It is a face slap novel, and it is good at that. However, there are a lot of cliches to be expected in a chinese novel. Something I personally don’t prefer is that there are very little character descriptions at where I am in the novel. The author simply says out a name, and all we can do is imagine what they look like.
(Names aren’t spoilers are they?) For example, Empyrean Pilljade. I have no idea what he looks like.... more>> Thats my main bug on the novel right now. Anyways, as expected in almost any chinese novel, MC goes about slapping faces and getting stronger. Though, another thing I dislike is that some people which were pretty noticeable side characters completely disappeared.

Spoiler

For example, Ren Dong and Xiao Ruyan. They have disappeared completely, and author even says that he only has 4 disciples, even though including those two, it should be 6. It doesn’t even say only in the heavenspan world.

Anyways, this novel is a fine read to pass the time. If you’re looking at it solely for plot, you might be mildly disappointed, but it is still a good read. <<less

At first was interesting but now it's horrendous. This novel basically follows the pattern : Some guy/group offends/harms MC or his group-> MC faceslaps them, people are shocked by MC power-> onto next powered enemy

It's boring and repeatedly used so it's annoying. At least in the beginning the side characters also played some proper roles but now they're forgotten. Also the MC himself doesn't feel compelling to me. The plot is also quite dry. I stuck with this for over 2000 chapters cause it does have some interesting bits but... more>> I can't read this without getting a headache so I'm dropping this.

I say it's not worth wasting your time on <<less

This novel is really good, fast pace and not boring. I already read until chapter 649, and the story is still interesting. His father and mother also not useless, they keep getting stronger, MC have 2 disciples right now. MC also have divine beast companion.

I'd like to rate this as a 2.5 stars, but you can only use whole numbers for rating. Like most everyone else already stated, it's cliche in not just a few aspects, but almost all of them.

Just once, I'd like to read a wuxia novel where whenever an adversary pops up, the MC doesn't automatically know his level as if there's a health bar with hit points over the head.

I also think the author has never been on a date before - the romance aspect is awkward and clumsy in... more>> its creation. An MC who feels nothing but friendship for the top beauty of the Divine Realm and another top beauty of an invading world can't find himself attracted to them, but he then he inexplicably falls for another beauty. Also, learn something from Mr. Game of Thrones who knows how to write and mirror reality - not every character should be handsome or gorgeous or at the lowest rung just simply pretty. This makes the reader think you only know how to populate your world build with good looks and somehow all the not so good-looking people got erased.

The translation is unusually consistent for good English, but the person does have a heavy penchant for introductory phrases and prepositional ones to start sentences. This causes the reading to be overly passive for voice instead of active and robust. <<less

I liked it.

The MC is in my top 5 favorite CN MCs. He's clever, not reliant on strength, knows when to be humble, knows when to bare his fang. He's unreasonable, though. Don't know how to give face to people who offended him, even after they apologized, which of course, lead to trouble. Some of the support characters feel alive, but most generic Af, which is understandable, since there are hundreds of them.

My biggest complaint is the word padding, oh god. The author has mastered the Supreme Dao of Word... more>> Padding and The Heavenly Filler Art. Several times I skipped up to ten chapters and actually didn't miss a thing. A scene about the MC facing a heavenly tribulation actually lasted for five chapters! Half of the novels filled with -useless, redundant, add nothing to the novel- comments from spectators / peanut gallery. It's not an exaggeration.

Spoiler

Regarding the plot, there's nothing new. An alchemist emperor who was about to become an immortal got betrayed by his father's student. A piece of his soul fell to a lower realm and occupied the body of a newly dead, useless young master, along with a cheat. His goal was to return to a higher realm, where he belong, and avenge his death. You've seen it a hundred times before. There are, naturally, arrogant young masters, waiting to be slapped, but surprisingly, there are also many friendly ones.

this novel is just about how great the MC is, with a boat load of plot armor, fights are won really easily, the whole idea of the martial path is a joke, we never truly delve into the skills or anything, you just learn that he learns them easily and they are extremely OP, no suspense, his alchemy skills are really good but instead of using it wisely he keeps showing off, like use your head a little.

The story is painfully cliche, especially early in the series. The MC is an OP haughty alchemist who inspires envy and hatred wherever he goes. His super-gorgeous maidservant is loyal to him while the youngest and prettiest teacher on campus and her cousin pay a lot of attention to him and sometimes chase him down. Fortunately, there is no romance yet, and I hope this stays out of harem territory.

As the story goes on, however, the MC's personality shows more depth, and the other characters gradually begin to show more... more>> depth as well. I especially like how loyal the MC is to his family and to those who are loyal to him. Although he is a genius, he is not perfect and doesn't always make the most calculated decisions one might expect from a Xianxia protagonist.

Although there have been some very stereotypical villains thus far, it looks like they may start to show some depth as well.

If I rated this series during the first fifty chapters, I would have given it a lower score. I hope it continues to improve from now on. <<less
