From the countryside, within a plain rattling train. Even though there are many seats to choose from, the most beautiful girl at school chooses to sit next to me every morning.

She also ends up leaning against me.

What is this… exactly?

Someone please tell me!

Oh, what the f*ck was that? Plot was pulled out of the author's ass and there was hardly a point to the other heroines. This story was not realistic at all. Which, yeah, the story isn't real so it doesn't have to be realistic. But this just makes it look like all the characters have a learning disability.

The heroines never interact with each other and there's just so much plot holes.

Like, wasn't this dude's little sister supposed to go to the speech-whatever it was called? Where did that flag go?

Spoiler

Did this bit*h really break up with her boyfriend just because he had a tiny ass conversation with another female and then she goes on and imagine an entire future where the dude just goes out with them? Also that sister is useless, what the f*ck.

Echizen was easily the most well written character here, and even she was a bad write. <<less

This one gives me mixed feelings. It's not too bad, but on the other hand it doesn't make me feel much. It's very mediocre, hence my 3 star rating. There were a couple of issues I had with the character development and pacing, and this isn't one I'd recommend if you're looking for a wholesome story. In fact, I can't really recommend this at all since I can't really say I had fun reading this, but this might just be my personal opinion. Go ahead and read this if you'd... more>> like to kill some time. <<less

it's just sad for me it's not fluff

even though it focuses on romance

it's just a whole bunch of girls falling in love and breaking their hearts ahh it's just frustrating to read... it's not heartwarming you know..I mean what's the point of making those girls fall in love with him if he already has a girlfriend goddamn it will just put a strain in your heart cause we know who's he gonna choose

Might not sound like it from the summary but this leans pretty heavily into the drama and angst. And it doesn't do it very well, it's a very forced, contrived melodrama. Go elsewhere if you're looking for fluff and romance, you'll only get a handful of lines here.

It's not very funny either, not entirely sure about the comedy tag tbh. MC is as blank slate as they get, and is depressingly low on self-confidence or any proactive qualities.

I think the story settings and characters themselves are fairly boring, the desire to make it sound so poetic is also lackluster. Where this excels is the character interactions and growth that breaks the mold of previous ln/manga/anime character tropes.

MC-kun is not an MC-kun (dense as f*ck), but also not a seinen MC-kun (i.e blatant sex). Initially there is the classical misunderstanding, but that is easily resolved and he is thereafter a proper boyfriend. His only fault perhaps is letting the yandere grow.

The female lead is completely yandere, but without violence, and she eventually realizes this, and breaks up with him for the sake of both of them. Very mature, realistic, and different from the classical yandere.

Brocon grows and doesn't let those tendencies out of hand.

While the tsundere didn't get justice (as this is MC-kun's story) she is able to reflect the feelings of those in her position, and thankfully isn't cringey with the tsun (more kuu than tsun).

Overall I feel this novel is a bit more subtle and more realistic in how the character tropes would actually interact. I will say the last few chapters are a bit rushed but it's a nice break if you want something different from complete sugar or over the top harem in a romance ln. <<less

The story is pretty interesting. While I'm reading this story I was nervous most of the time well more like a continious suspense. I recommend it but it's still not perfect there are some parts that are lacking a little but I don't regret reading it. I don't wanna spoil the story so my review ends here.

Average. The premise is the usual misunderstanding trope so often found in romantic comedy novels/anime. The characters are developed into the usual stereotypes: the possessive, the tsundere, the bland male character. The setting is there, the characters are there... but the plotline went awry and there is a feel of 'jumping the shark' as an effort to inject some drama. Towards the end, I felt that the author had ran out of steam and had decided to end it quickly on a happy note.

It's one of those stories that seem... more>> too short for a one-volume manga, the kind of short story that is packed into an anthology to make up the pages. <<less

Actually its start with pretty good, and end in such lame unsatisfying way. This novel would be in my top 10 novel downhill ever.

We have our MC, common guy who trying the best after know the girl (heroine) like him and so on. Story felt okay until pass midway, then later author just like out landmine of plot hole just to make things more complicated and nonsense result, then in the end they just back to beginning. I felt author just like got this novel axed or unmotivated because end... more>> this potential story in such way. I'm myself have a gf and a common guy, but im honestly disappointed with the MC. You can try read this, dont expect so much tho.

I can trying rant for a hours just to describe how much im disappointed with this, aside that this early story isnt pretty bad so 3/5 is generous enough. <<less

Decently funny, with interesting enough characters, if not particularly special. I'm worried though, if the authour can wrap up this story satisfactorily... guess we'll see.

It's just gloriously funny. There's many different characters whom you can all look forward to seeing, but the stars of course are the protagonist and the beautiful girl in the seat next to him. Translation is great too, so extremely solid, laugh out loud shenanigans.
