It is probably too early to write a review but I really loved the first few chapters.

Firstly, reading each chapter makes me love the MC more and more. His pureness, kindness and hopefulness. Despite facing so much sadness he knows how to stand up. He might be powerless and seemingly weak but he is very strong. The MC is beautiful (you’ll know what I mean, when you read it).

Spoiler

I wish the characters who threw MC away would see the value not in what he can do and what he can make but for who he is.

5 stars for the translator! 5 stars for the story itself! 5 stars for the MC! <<less

I’m not sure why this story has five 1 star votes unless, perhaps, they were overly distressed by

how badly the MC is treated or how he always loses the people who do care for him. So far.

This story has the simplicity and tone of an ancient fairy tale, but the emotional connection of a modern story. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

I read the manhwa version (Little Fox with a Star), and I was so sad that the scanlations stopped! But novel version! YES. So far the chapters of the novel aren't ahead of what I read on the manhwa, but the feeling of melancholy is the same. I want little fox to have a happy end.

When the MC's father decides to have a child, he accidentally pulls off only the tip of his tail before then pulling out the rest of his tail. The longer tail becomes the superior elder brother while the tuft becomes the MC. Everyone scorns and emotionally abuses and bullies the MC. Occasionally, there is physical abuse as well.

The MC is withdrawn, timid, hardworking, and naive. There is a little growth with his personality, but not much has been shown yet. He does some aggravating things like when he ... more>>

gets kidnapped by a man but then develops traits similar to Stockholm Syndrome. He's treated fairly well, but this doesn't change the fact that he was kidnapped, imprisoned, and isolated from the rest of the world. He is locked up and prevented from contacting anyone else for several months. Worse yet, he actually wants to return to this guy.

[collapse]

The other characters are friends, enemies, or frenemies. For some reason, various characters who initially hate the MC suddenly feel longing or liking for him out of nowhere with no explanation or buildup whatsoever, leaving me rather confused by the developments.

The plot isn't much. The MC gets bullied, moves somewhere, and gets bullied again. He is sometimes recognized for his talents, but this doesn't last long. There also isn't much explanation for the setting or world-building regarding demonkind and the world around them. A lot of characters are jerks.

There aren't particular strong or weak points that stand out for this series so far. <<less

This story huh...

honestly the best I can describe it is a emotional roller coaster constantly flip-flopping between 'awww' and 'oh my, did I just hear my heart breaking?'

this story follows our adorable little protagonist 'Ho-chi' who is shunned by his fellow foxes for being weak, in an attempt to look for some happiness.

Spoiler

he was born when one day, Cheon-ho, was bored so he ripped off his finest tail to make a child. By mistake however, he ripped of the tip of the tail, splitting it in two. This resulted in makin the perfect Ja-ho and the 'vulgar' Ho-chi.

At the moment they are a few candidates for the spot of ML (unless this is a harem and I just don't know it yet >.>). Each of them is a very interesting character in there own right, ranging from a madman who falls in love at first sight to a guy who watches him and sometimes tries to help behind the scenes.

Ah! But this story sure knows how to make you emotionally invested! Truly, seeing the little fox fight through adversities and still smile after just hurts my soul...

Spoiler

seriously though, looking at the little fox who works so hard to get the slightest bit of approval by his brother, father or any other people being ruthlessly shot down, really shows how cruel this little world is. This poor little fox... he takes happiness from little trivial things, is rejected by his kind and humans alike and to top it off, the little fox even is sorry for wanting to stay alive.... ah my heart

[collapse]

i would like to say that this is a happy story and talk about some happy things that happened aswell but... erm... there's not that much I can say really? There are Those moments however rather that happy, I'd call them bittersweet, giving a little warmth to ones heart and... that why I think it's worth to read this story, to feel some lingering sweetness from the characters actions.

anywho, I'm just gonna continue to wait for the delicious updates and a pray that our little fox finds some happiness. <<less

This story would make your heart break at the same time be moved at the MC's pureness and simplicity.

Spoiler

He was hurt so many times even though he doesn't deserve it. He is just searching for love that needs to be reciprocated and a warm place he can call a home.

I just hope that this have a happy ending for him.

I enjoy the dysfunctional dynamics in this story presented. An uncaring father, a spoiled brother, a general lack of care from any one. These made sense. When the brother decided to care it seems to come from no where. The story hints that people will feel bad for depriving the fox but given thier character I don't see why. It all seems forced. The main character is relatable though.
