It started out quite readable. I won't say it was particularly good because it wasn't. But at least it was readable.

The following are problems with the novel, in no particular order.

Some of the other reviews are clearly by people that didn't read it. The MC doesn't even get laid until almost a thousand pages in and that situation was unique because the woman was drugged by someone else, and at this point in time the MC didn't have the skills to save her with an alternate method. He never has... more>> a thing for his mom ever, not even a little bit. He never walks around with a tent pole or anything like that. In fact there are times where he goes nearly a decade without having s*x even after he has ten wives.

That aside something that is true: the author doesn't own a calculator. No, seriously. If you see numbers on the page, assume first that they're totally incorrect, not that they're right. I started bookmarking every time I saw correct math. There are less than ten of these bookmarks. Sometimes the math is correct, and then the number given at the end is million instead of billion, or thousand instead of hundred but would otherwise be fine.

Also don't grow attached to any of the explanations given for how things work. Like the realms, or how abilities work, or really anything. Because its going to change, probably more than once. But almost all of the techniques that the MC learns he continues to use in some way at least up until chapter 1876, So through all 16 books. Some of them are never really used in combat, but are cultivated and taught to others. Others are used constantly, until they vanish for 300 chapters and then reappear in a different form. For instance the MC learns how to use Heavenly Talismans, uses them in every single fight for the next 500 chapters. Then doesn't use them for almost the same amount of time. Then starts using them again but only in every forth fight or so.

Also his "perfect memory" that is used extensively near the beginning of the story, is completely forgotten about later on. Where he forgets things quite a lot or pulls the "almost forgot"

And the author uses pounds, miles, kilometers, li, jin, all interchangeably sometimes even within the same sentence.

There are 9 continents split into the first group of 5, and the second group of 4 that are stronger. But 1/4th of the novel is spent in the first continent, and it isn't until halfway through the novel that he reaches the 4 continents. Of which he then spends a lot of time in the first half of the first of the 4 continents looking to expand into the second half. But this never happens and is completely dropped, the second half of this continent is never talked about again even though there was buildup for it for a long time, he teleports past it to the next whole continent very suddenly.

The Author forgets things he has written sometimes by the very next page. There is even an instance where MC is talking to one of his women and she says that the enemy is going to come today, she can feel it at the beginning of the conversation. Well conversation ends next page, and then we skip forward a whole month, and that's when the enemy arrives lol.

MC is consistent right up until he isn't. Chapter 1872 is the straw that broke the camels back for me.

Spoiler

MC previously crippled a profligate son that was abusing women and tried to abuse one of the MCs women (this is something that happens at least 100 times throughout the novel. But this profligate son (Second Young Master Hua) who had his cultivation and his manhood crippled comes back, is still snatching women but is now torturing them to death because he can't get it up anymore due to MC. His cultivation was healed but not his Peen. So what does the MC do that has thus far been a man of the people, doesn't treat those who are evil but will heal the poor for free? He decides to heal this Second Young Master Hua even though he knows that this guy is still snatching and killing women, and that he (the mc) is the one that crippled him for good reason. Why you might ask? Because the Second Young Master Hua didn't kill MCs people (only because he wanted to kill them in front of MC and MC wasn't there at the time. So when MC returned he planned to slaughter them in front of him) Surely this is s*upid beyond belief? But MC is convinced he's doing the right thing now, he's turning over a new leaf. He was wrong before to not heal bad people, he was naive and narrow-minded in the past. WTF.

[collapse]

Obviously this completely breaks the MC IMO. And I won't read further to find out how this ends, it was already getting difficult to read because the Author writes pages of philosophy as filler. The MC has started preaching philosophy at everybody and not even the dialogue but the I guess you could call it inner monologue of the MC is literally pages and pages of useless garbage. The powerscaling has gone wrong and not for the reasons you'd think. But because the MC is constantly being nerfed by his own ideocracy. If he used all of the tools he has available more intelligently he would be almost undefeatable but a lot of the times he refuses to use most of the tools because he doesn't want to rely on them, or he wants to treat his opponent like a practice tool. There is also several mentions of the special gemstones that can increase speed or power. And he upgrades from a grade 5 speedstone to a grade 6 at one point. And he is given a grade 8 sunstone that would increase his strength by 200 %. But he never slots it into his boots even though it's mentioned several times that there are empty gem slots. Stuff like this is because the Author added WAY too many systems for increasing power, and then gave the MC ALL of them to use, and not just use but be the best at. So he has to be completely inept and forgetful and s*upid else he would be much stronger. This is most apparent when it comes to alchemy. The MC only lacks alchemical recipes, but does he ever once ask around for them? Buy any? Negotiate with a clan or sect that has them? Nope never, he only waits for them to fall into his lap magically (or whenever the author wants to give MC huge power boost)

This is most apparent when you realize that the scaling between grades within realms has gotten absurd. For instance when MC was still a martial king he was still able to defeat a Martial Saint, someone an entire realm above him. But now the difference between a grade 1 divine and grade 2 divine is something like a 1000x increase in power.

Spoiler

Also when his beasts reach divine they get a human form and human personalities. It's stated that they would no longer be content with just sitting in his realm idle for centuries like they have been for the most part. Even one of his beats gets a name and calls MC Daddy and is basically a little girl he treats as a daughter. Adorable right? Well all of that only lasts for one or 2 chapters and then not mentioned again at least for 100 chapters. The beasts never get any more development or do anything besides sit in his realm for centuries just like before, and that beast that called him Daddy? Forgotten literally immediately, no follow up.

[collapse]

MC also takes his peerless beauties out for walks sometimes. This usually results in a random "oh wow look that's a divine artifact no one else has noticed" or some other random powerup. And then a fight because someone wants to snatch the MCs women. This brings us to the biggest re-occurring plothole in the whole novel.

This is a world where people can sense other peoples strength. The MC is particularly good at this and can even get a sense of people who are much stronger than him, but usually this is limited to being able to sense people who are weaker, or are near to you in strength. If someone is stronger, you won't be able to sense them at all generally.

And yet over and over and over and over and over again people underestimate the MCs strength and fight/attack him even though they're nowhere near as strong. They know he has strength, but cannot sense how much. And every single time their thought is "But he's young so he can't be much stronger than me I'm going to attack anyways!" The worst part is this applies even to people who have been warned by their superiors not to underestimate him, to treat him with respect and not antagonize him. They too will act arrogant to the MC and attack him when he doesn't give a sh*t about them. Only to get their asses kicked and then apologize and/or vow vengeance or get killed by MC.

This review is long enough. TL;DR Novel was fun to read for the first 1200 chapters, then went downhill, and eventually was bad enough to warrant dropping. If this was written by a different author it could have been a masterpiece. ; ( <<less

This one is kinda good, I'm impressed with the ending, I love how the author summarized it like I wasn't left hanging, no cliffhanger, I got my deserved ending and finished it in peace.

I love how the MC really loves his family, his wives and children, he's a filial son... actually it's one of the reason why I stick reading this to the end. He really built his clan from bottom to the top. I want more of his family's pov esp his children.

I don't mind the harem tho... more>> since he takes care each of his wives and children, he's trying hard to be a father even with huge responsibilities.

Don't even bother the other comments ruining you to stop reading this novel

I don't even know if this novel was even made to be good at this point.

It's not my first time reading a harem novel, nor is it my first time reading a wish fulfilling novel, but I've certainly never read one so bad. The writing, characters, world, power system, everything, is so inconsistent and irrelevant. We never even get an understanding of mc's strength during the first 120 chapters of the novel.

Every fight feels like someone is commentating script instead of an actual fight scene. The fights are so simplistic,... more>> boring and unnecessary that it actually turns laughable.

Everything in the novel is always handled prematurly, and 90% of conflicts start with the mc's d*ck and ends with the mc's d*ck that it's getting ridiculous. Character building always gets scrapped because author wants drama. MC always acts like a hypocrite who's even more of an as*hole than the people he calls a**holes.

There is always drama/problems that makes zero sense and always ends up with nothing happening to the storyline. Where almost if not all of them involve a woman.

It's even gotten to the point where the author kills off a character who has had developments in the story killed for no reason other than adding nonsensical drama such as harem member losing memory due to trauma.

Spoiler

This isn't even the only time that he's just scrapped ''character developments'' due to drama. Yu He is a prime candidate, MC spends over 10 chapters just flirting with her, going as far as giving out a love confession and a promise that he would marry her after he absolved the marriage between her and her deceased husband. MC never actually absolves it, rather he uses his overpowered cheat to heal her grandpa which then she suddenly becomes single. However, despite the fact that she is eligible for marriage, MC just completely ignores her and everything that happened previously because 1. He has s*x with Shi Qing Zhuang and 2. He's worried about wushuang (which he can't do anything about at that moment), the reasonings are plain s*upid, but then again, so is everything in this novel.

[collapse]

Every single girl is two-dimensional and half of them exists only so that the MC can f*ck them and get stronger.

I actually can't find a single good point about this novel and it actually makes me sad because, although the initial plot is generic, it could have turned into something decent at the very least. <<less

Since I'm assuming the last 3 chapters will be released tomorrow (19SEP) and I have 22 chapters until the end, I'll write a review now and just binge the last 22 tomorrow... hopefully. No Spoilers and this wont be long.

I've read this story over the course of almost 5 years. I am very sad it's going to end, but I am also glad. Simply put, the author wrote and stuck to what he knew and what he did best, as most Chinese webnovelists do/should do. These authors are not writing... more>> at the (grammatical, structural) level of say, J.K Rowling, and I think many readers make the mistake of assuming that they should. At the end of the day, the author wanted to write an exciting adventure of a badass J.O.D womanizer, and hell he delivered. In fact, this was probably one of the more solid plot lines of many series I've read, and it's simply the fact it didn't really feel crazy and jumbled toward the end like many webnovels do. It did speed up quite obviously, but it wasn't really obnoxious and still mostly enjoyable. I highly recommend anyone to read this, no strings attached. Honestly don't try to critique so much and as the author said this at least 1000 times in the story "let nature take it's course". Seriously though, it was a fun read.

P.S. The romance actually wasn't half bad, considering it's a harem. If it's going to be harem, it's gotta be light hearted or it's a bust.

P.S.S Some pretty solid character development, especially M.C. I surprise myself by saying this too.

P.S.S.S I really dont understand alot of people here saying M.C is braindead. He does some dumb and contradicting things but most of the time he's actually pretty sensible and even a bit more human than many protagonists. Alot of the story is his struggling to overcome not only the physical obstacles, but also his past self and what he wants for the future. <<less

A guilty pleasure read but a few things to note:

    1. Cultivation levels are poorly done and how it correlate with his Ancient Strengthening Technique becomes redundant half way through.
    2. MC is a cook, talisman maker, blacksmith, physician, alchemist and demon refiner. However, last 800 chapters he's really just a physician and rest of crafts are pretty much forgotten. So if you enjoy crafting it feels a little disappointing.
    3. Harem is huge, much bigger than the "12 portraits of beauty" as blur implies.
    4. MC is a hypocrite and often says feels guilty or has inferiority complex only to build up one relationship before skirt chasing another woman.
    5. Math makes no sense in novel and by end the power levels are difficult to follow so feel sorry for translator. All of this is compounded by fact author has chosen to use multiplier for MC's abilities and its very easy to lose track with how author comes up with end number.
    6. There is no end plot, this is a biggie. He basically gets stronger to chase a girl. Once achieved another girl leaves so must get stronger to chase this girl. Rinse and repeat for 2000+ chapters. So ending is really anti-climactic.
    7. Lots of plot holes and unresolved arcs by end of novel.
    8. A little dark at time (should have tragedy tag) and author even says at end of novel because of a few "dark" scenes he lost a lot of readers so stopped doing them.
So should you read it? Its a decent harem novel, lots of girls but author has chosen quantity over quality so only a handful have personality. There are quite a few (50+) s*x scenes but nothing too explicit. Lots and lots of flirting/ cheeky behaviour by MC but little true romance.

Most of girls fall for him because he either saves them or gets revenge for them.

90% of novel is translated and should be completely done within 6 months. Translation are ok but a lack of an editor means lots of name errors or wrong numbers translated over.

TLDR: This is a novel for those who like large harems and more mature themes and as mentioned a guilty pleasure. Plenty of young master bashing!

TL;DR -

Bad: Not worth the time to read, dropped due to repetitiveness and NTR

Good: Translation is fast, beginning is interesting

An OP protagonist even among CN protagonists... The harem is lackluster (all the females just blur together, as they all fall in love with the MC for the typical reasons despite disliking him at the start), descriptions are repetitive (seriously, the author needs to use a thesaurus, basically every move is described as "perversely strong, " etc.) and the MC's cheat is... OP (every time the storage space becomes slightly less... more>> OP, then the author introduces another aspect for the MC to train).

The cheat is my main problem with the series: it allows the MC to spend a months worth of time training in a single day. Even though plants and animals in the space age rapidly, the MC doesn't age at all and the author doesn't provide any explanation... And when even a month a day doesn't let the MC become stronger as rapidly, well then he conveniently unlocks yet another level which increases the time dilation.

This is the only series I have ever dropped due to just how all around bad it is... and due to the upcoming NTR scene in the novel. Gave it two stars because the beginning 30 chapters or so (and the R18 scenes) were decent and the translators are doing an amazing and quick job.

(To the translators: I held back on dropping this because of how good the translation is. I hope the bad review won't discourage you, but there isn't much a translator can do to improve a bad novel.) <<less

Exclamation Marks, The Novel!

It's weird, in this world everyone seems to be surprised. That's because every other sentence ends in an exclamation mark! People are really excited for some reason!! (Sometimes there's even two exclamations haha)

It's not badly written, but it's nothing great. If you don't have anything better to read, then go ahead and give this a try!!

... more>> Edit: Sigh, this story is making me so depressed I had to add a few more words to my review.

The story tries to be a wuxia novel but with a game system; this makes the world pretty unbelievable. He starts forging and I (besides the fact that he's super awesome from the start) he creates stuff with silly powerups, like a sword that makes the user more agile. Not like there's any writing about how it has some lightweight metal or maybe some weird animal essence, no, he crafted a sword that adds +10% to speed! Wow! Such good writing! Much bleh.

He's super wishy-washy. This is like some sort of Chinese Death March kind of story, it even has as many cooking as Siice of Life japanese novels. I was expecting him to be at least more sleazy with his romance as his character is portrayed but even that is below my expectations. Not like it has to have a lot of s*x scenes, but he could at least be more manly. He's portrayed as some sort of Chinese Marlon Brando (when he was young lol) but he's more like a total teenager. His pickup lines are just s*xual innuendos and, if the girl blushes, he'll try to stick it to her! Super lame. <<less

This one has potential. With over 2400 chapters under it's belt, I'm hoping for it do be good. However as of chapter 22, there's really not much of a story. MC is... kinda odd, full of contradictions. His personality isn't really well-characterized as of yet. I'm assuming it will happen later when he grows up. For now, it's a 3.5. I'm looking forward to this one in the future. Definitely a harem.

First, without spoilers :

AST is... not bad, to be honest. I liked it. If you want to read a story without having to bother about complex characters, this might please you.
If, however, you want complex, fleshed-out characters, I cannot really recommend it.

However, there are issues, massive ones, even.

Spoiler

Actually, I found 4 issues. 4 important ones.

-First of all, the Main Character, Qing Shui. He is... too perfect. And as such, too uninteresting.
He's smart, beautiful, has unparalleled talents, has skills putting him above anyone else in more than one field, and as such, doesn't really evolve.
He had two developments in the whole story : A gain of self-confidence and the acceptance that harems were good.
This trope is overly present in these genres, and to me, it remains a problem.

-Second of all, there are way too much characters. If we take his harem only, I can't even remember how much they are, because they are too many. You can't grow too attached to the greatest majority of them, because they are left behind and replaced. And ultimately, even those that are there for long periods of time are drowned in the sea of characters.

-Third of all, there are no stakes.
The problem works alongside the "Too perfect character". If you want to have a perfect character, you can, but you need to challenge that character so people root for him. But here, there isn't really an enemy present. The Demon Gate could have worked, if there was no Tantai Lingyan. But because there was, the Demon Gate was not seen as inherently evil. Ultimately, I never had to root for the main character, because he was never facing an overwhelming threat. At most, only some individuals.

-Fourth of all, the ending is rushed. When I looked at the list of chapters, and I saw only 10 chapters left, I tried to wonder how it could end properly. And I couldn't find a way.
This ties out to the previous points. There are no stakes, there are no major objectives, there is no overpowered enemy tracking the MC down. And so, the ending couldn't resolve those stakes, complete those objectives, nor battle the enemy. The final battle isn't pleasing, because the enemy had been introduced two chapters earlier. The reunion between him and Tantai Lingyue didn't feel that emotional because we didn't see him be that much affected. Because it's a harem story, and ultimately, Tantai Lingyue is but one of its members. ù

-Fifth of all, the novel asks many questions, and doesn't deliver answers.
For example, why did Qing Shui reincarnate?
What is the Realm of Jade Immortal, and where does it come from?
What is the origin of the Ancient Strengthening Technique?
Did Wenren Wugou really reincarnate?
Who is the Art Maestro, beyond his name? His history?
And yet, all of these questions remain unanswered. This is frustrating, because I wanted to learn more, but I wasn't given the informations to learn.

[collapse]

Ultimately, I still decided to rate it 4 out of 5, for three reasons.
First of all, despite my rant, it still has good qualities.
Second of all, the author was passionnate about this project, and it shows.
Third of all, the translation is also excellent.

This. Is by far. THE WORST novel. I have ever read.

The MC is straight tr*sh with no character depth and a super pen*s that moves when ever a slightly attractive woman looks at him.

For everyone that's defending this nonsense saying it's more to do with the relationships between him and his harem ... more>>
Spoiler

I'm only 100 chapters in and he's r*ped a girl and physically abused another one. As for the one he abused he threw her aside after he r*ped the girl he preferred out of the 2.

[collapse]

The game element came in late as hell, the plot line is erratic and jumps around so much and he has a sh*t ton of skills he uses once and then never again.

All in all, if I could I would give this 0 stars let alone 1. <<less

MC has far more women than he can handle, he will often just leave for many many years for no real good reason.

He really doesn't care about his wife and children, he'll talk about them but he doesn't spend much time with them.

The writing is written in a way that the author doesn't seem to know what he's doing, events just seem so random.

The skill up scenes are ridiculous, chapters full of just describing skills but when time comes to use them, they rarely stick to their flavour text the... more>> author wrote up. The whole, Emperor QI 20%, mighty elephant stomp 15% blah blah blah stat dumps don't make it feel any better, honestly I just started skimming to the end of the battle as it was rarely climatic.

There's also the times where MC will be in his time chamber, spend a night (1000s of years?) training then when it's time to go "Oh I found this treasure from that guy I killed I should look at it", as though he didn't have enough time to check it out before then. Sometimes uncovering something he'll need to practise for a long time before it's usable. Would've been great if he had a lot of time to practise it before he had to leave his time chamber, eh?

His progress is totally pathetic for the amount of time he commits to it.

I could put up with it until the incident with Di Chen happened, I decided to spoil myself and found it incredibly s*upid and annoying upon reading about how it is resolved and decided, "Nope I'm done". I was hoping he'd hurry up and confirm feelings between himself and Yiye Jiange (?) but he'd rather go off and mess around doing absolutely nothing of value for multiple years than talk to her for more than a few sentences that aren't about Luan. <<less

What can I say? AST stands for Ancient Sexing Technique so if you are looking a good harem novel this is it, it doesn't get any better than that. The only disappointment is that despite that there are other races the MC kinda goes limp when he knows about it and stops all flirting and machinations on them so it sucks like why even bother with all the chapters of teasing and what not.

This novel is 90% about harem and how MC interacts with the harem. 10% that isn't about harem is split in between 1-3% actual cultivation or world setting and is what I came to read. While other 7-9% is to show how bad ass MC is, and explain why he should have a harem and help shallow 90% garbage of novel that is terrible writing.

Well what to say about this novel.

first of all, the MC is reincarnated in a new world who appear to be a world similar to the game he played. It's an information who doesn't get developed at all and useless so far (chap 447).

this reincarnation is just a convenient excuse to give the MC a super strong and mysterious cultivation technique which was on his game. And thank to that the MC who couldn't cultivate, now become a cultivation genius. Cultivation system the MC won't use thank to that... more>> mysterious technique, who allow the author to randomly choose a cultivation grade the MC can defeat without any explanation.

the only explanation is all the strong technique who came with the ancient strengthening technique, which the MC cultivate to a highter grade than the other thank to a medailion he found just like that in a cave, and allow him to have time slow of 100:1 ration. It quickly become annoying to be enumerate all the technique who add up, every singe time he enter the space in the medailion.

but it could have been still be okay if the story whoo follow was interresting. The guide line so far was to go to the yan clan which is the clan his father come from and who separated his parent because yan clan want a marriage alliance with another big clan.

but the MC who at the begining as a cold personnality rapidly turn into a player who try to get literaly every women he see. And from this moment all the story only has three points, the women he pursue who don't have a personality at all and just let the MC sexualy harass them all along. The enemy he make thank to women, every single time. Enemy who are presented as strong whith powerful background, and turn to all be arrogant f*cking idiot who finaly get bash by MC, before an enemy with a sronger background appears. The rest is the breakthrougt of all of his techniques. And as the time pass the MC became more and more a prick who insult whith no reason girls who like him but he doesn't.

it isn't a story, it's a line of word to say how awsome the MC is, how he get all the women and how he bash all his enemy. But it's not a story, it's a loop which repeat herself over and over. So unless you got a lot of free time don't read this. <<less

I will get to the point, women are delicate things, always needs care, no women would care for a guy who leaves them for tens of years, auther really has head over his d*ck (maybe his fantasy), this is kinda dickhead motherf*cker type of story, when I started reading I have almost thought he will most probably have s*x with his mother.. Author really is forgetful all women's name what kind of ability Shui, has all forgotten..I know this sh*t almost made disgust to the novel even though I read... more>> this novel to the end.. Man when one writes something he does a lot of research on what is he going to write.. Make plots and character and how the things will end.. Here what author did was random player of dickheadness not a novel but a typical TV serial where all can be thought by a lot of people how the things will end.. At least give the MC a better view and character.. Whatever.. <<less

Falta de Criatividade
As too many people already complained about MC's hypocrisy regarding potential harem members, lack of personality of already harem members, multiple many year long absences, totaly messed up "inferiority complex" which seems to dissapear for many chapters only to return stronger, nonsense acquirement of convenient skills, unnecessary and irrelevant reincarnation and brainless young master rapists everywhere, I will not write about those.

Spoiler

Besides the mentioned above, the novel dissapoints in every possible way of consistency. Skills MC "forgot" (while having eidetic memory) to train because he thought were useless (they actually didnt exist before that point). Women MC loves intensely yet forgets about them 20 chapters after leaving city. Skills suddenly having new effects which werent mentioned before. Skills dissapearing, never to be mentioned again (Heavenly palace sword art, anyone?). Aging and overall math. Realms of skills fluctuate. Special itens stored then forgotten. MC gifts earrings to girl on the verge of death because he owed her a pair (major plot point), even though he already gave her the pair he owed a couple dozen chapters before.

Tl;dr Author failed to keep track of all the different women, pills, passives, skills, accessories, weapons, etc he threw at the MC and we got this mess. <<less

as of for starters whom have already starting to read or in the middle 1000+, the story is good the interactions with the other girls whom he'll develope feelings for them and proceed into making his woman is a little short but its okay but one thing just dont make sense further chapters just center around 3 girls flirting around and forgotten his 9 women whom he tried so hard to get early chapters and just forgotten them, no conversation just a shortcut interactions when he comes home. I like... more>> the early chapters but after that ita dissapointing.

his battle prowess dont make sense like a multiplier like other people.

plot repeatative like making a move on his woman then kill and offend the young masters that always use their clan/sect as their backgrounds. For a second time its always repeatative until 2049 (currently I'm reading).

all in all i'll still recommend this novel.

sorry for the english and grammar not my strong points guys just sharing my thoughts. <<less

At first I like this novel a lot but now the story is revolving around same thing how someone courted his wife, how he takes revenge, and somehow when he reaches new level in cultivation he meets someone (specially woman) who have reached same level, then he woo her, make her accept him this how story is revolving again and again. Now I am very tired of this

I made an account only to comment about how awful this series is and here are a few reasons why

Spoiler

The main character apperently has like no time flow for him so he can train as much as he wants but still he will get characters that are almost as old as him with the same progress for no reason whatsoever, the main characters fights are exceptionally s*upid, it feels alot like a yu-gi-oh duel where everything counts for attack and defense points and you really don't give a sh*t about the fights whatsoever. As has been mentioned before every single fight in this novel revoles around females that some noble master wants but they all belong to him of course, really a generic waste of my time and the only thing worth mentioning is the occasional flirting between him and the girls which can be kind of cute.

Usually I would rate a novel after I reach around 50% (and after reaching all translatet chapters - again) of the current translatet Chapters, or when I intend to drop it. This time the novel is really long thats why im writing my review now, and I will update it later.

The Novel is really good, its definitely nothing amazing but still very enjoyable. The first impression is actualy pretty bad because the first 40ch of the novel are the worst first chapters a novel can possible have. I have... more>> no idea why some writers believe that its a good idea to start a novel by writing a lexicon/manual about how the cultivation system works... Like seriously in the first 40ch we are reading only about the whole cultivation ranks, about how to "level up", about every profession (like alchemy or beast tamers) and every profession has it own cultivation system and ranks... There is so many its confusing! The author introduces everything at once! And there are maybe like 2 fights during this time! BORING. There are many good novels that make it better for example Tales of demons and gods - a easy system (bronce-silver-gold- (...) ranks) and the author doesen't explain everything, every single class and rank at the very beginnig. The whole plot from the first 40ch when deleting the dry and boring cultivation system aspect would fit in around 3-4ch... Just like a lexicon.

Dont get me wrong the cultivation system e.t.c is definitely a strong aspect of the novel, and its really fun to read later BUT not in the first 40ch when we are reading ONLY about it!

Later the novel gets better, and after the MC reaches the hundret miles city its very good! (around ch45-50). The plot starts to show itself and its not only about all the ranks and realms, but whe start to read about the MC meeting new people, making money, learn sth. About his past, his motivation, some fights and actions commence and the romance beginnis.

I dont agree with people who say that this novel is only about Harem (atleast not until 213). Definitely not. The cultivation and action emphasis is very strong in this novel. After ch40 whe are still reading mostly about how the MC gets strong. Its just not 100% focused only about it but around 50%, 20%-30% is Harem, 20%-30% the rest. Honestly I dont see anything wrong when it comes to cultivation compared to other Novels like MGA or PMG, im suprised but actualy I even like this one more, because the system is good and the powers the MC gets are interesting.

Now sth. About the romance/harem/girls. Its not bad, I think - I like it. This novel focuses more about how the love between him and the girls develop than about just s*x. The romance biuld up slow, it takes many chapters for it to reach the last stage - its just like the whole novel, slow paced (in any aspect). Mostly its enjoyable. The girls are likable. Its worth the read if you are searching for a Chinese Harem novel.

Its worth mention that the MC remembers his old live in our world AND its one of the few Novels where it matters! Well its not important but the MC's way of thinking is atleast a little just like common sense in our world.

Spoiler

For example he whants a monogamy family even when polygamy is common - this leads to many misundertandings and mistakes. Only after some time he very slowly starts to think different

Summary (ch213) :

-Very good Xuanhuan Novel

-Very good Harem Novel

-Slow paced

-Boring and bad first 40ch

This novel is just a worst version of Womanizing mage, but it doesen't mean its not good. I give it 5/5 right now, but honestly because of the first 40ch I should lower the grade, but because this novel is very long 40ch seems like a drop in ocean. Ok I reached 227ch and I think I have enough, its just to slow, to huge focus on everything cultivation related - its hard to read in one go. I need a longer break, maybe in the future I will read it futher. <<less
