“I curse you to never die in peace!”

Thus, Shang Ke started a never-ending cycle of constantly throwing away his miserable life.

He would always show himself as a martyr while letting others cry over his death.

It was because of a woman’s curse that Shang Ke was hit by a car and turned into a human vegetable. This led to him becoming bound by an unlucky system in which he was cursed to die. The most unfortunate part was that he never cheated on anyone’s feelings. The reason for why he was cursed by a woman was because of a guy named Qi Chen. Qi Chen was a ladies man, and he would always use Shang Ke as an excuse to break up with any woman that he was with. As a result, Shang Ke was always blamed for the breakups. Since then, the main character could only be forced to cross into different worlds. He would thus experience for himself, the hero’s “thrill”.

It's okay. More focused around the plot and the various worlds than the characters making them feel very flat. Though that might be because I've been reading unedited chapters?

From the reviews section, I actually find myself agreeing with Mikleo when they say it feels like you're scanning rather than reading a story. It's not really noticeable if you don't think about it since there's a lot of content in each arc, but decisions are generally not really being made but rather have already been made and are just being told,... more>> if that makes any sense...

I also agree with Wife of Sove, who said that the main character shifts personalities from world to world. It connects back to how I said the characters were very flat, the main character has no personal motivation or agenda, just those that align with their system. So every time they switch worlds, our main character ambition and personality change. Which is... eh. Understandable if a bit unpleasant.

Still, I give this a 5 out of 5, mostly because I simply liked reading it. The points I mentioned aren't necessarily bad, just makes for a different type of reading than some other stories.

The worlds are pretty interesting and each situation feels pretty unique, even for their respective genres. <<less

The story is really ingenious and heartwarming (and heart wrenching XD) !!!

I first thought that the story arcs were short (compared to FoD) but they were not. Once the MC completed all the extra missions or reach 50% heroic value (performance rate), he was able to go back to the previous world (arcs, ~c114) and "relive".

PS. I really feel bad for the ML every after the "heroic death" of MC

Love this novel. I particularly like arc 2. The MC and ML are so cute together. This has become my new interest after FOD end. While there are arcs that was not to my liking, the story is stay interesting. However, I am having problem with the author's site. An error screen always appear when I try to enter. Today there is a new chapter but I can't read it. Can someone help me with this problem or I am the that is affected by this. (Well except for nikkib461)... more>> <<less

I love this series as it has similarities to Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil, but the ML is a bit less OP and more fluffy in my opinion. My favorite arc so far is the Faith arc. There are many *meng/moe/fluffy moments ... more>>

His little "daughter" and him are probably the cutest father/child pair I have read about. Especially since his daughter rolls over to lay on top of our MC just to let the ML hop into bed.

Pretty much ignore most of what Mikleo (in the review section) said, the only things that were accurate in his review were - The ML being bland, at least compared to the MC, and the worlds being a bit too fast paced.

Other than that, it shares many similarities with QWFOD, I honestly have no idea what hes talking about by saying theres no scenes or characterization. Do I think it is as good as QWFOD? No, at least not so far, however it has many unique worlds, and while not... more>> all of them are good (there were also a few in QWFOD that were bad) many of them are quite interesting. The main complaint I have, is that there are a few inconsistencies in the plot, not sure if that's a translation thing or if it was like that in the original.

It is at the very least worth giving a shot to. <<less

A very fun read. ML in the second arc is way too funny in my opinion. I accidentally saw the titles for the future arcs... And now I shall quickly forget, lest I torture myself while camping.

This novel is sooo good. Definitely a great follow up to QWTFOTD. I don't know if I'm like a sad*st or something but I kind of like to see the ML be devastated over the mc's temporary deaths (I hate tragedies so that's why I said temporary b/c they're technically not dead at the end in the novel). I thought the arcs were really good and the MC and ML were really sweet. It only took like a couple of arcs for MC to reciprocate his feelings so the romance... more>> isn't slow at all. It's definitely an easy read I would say. No frustrating and pulling my hair moments.

I hate ambiguous endings. I seriously hope they have a sequel or something. Or someone please write a fanfic I really don't like being left hanging.

okay EDIT; I think I read the wrong ending because I just read the translated ending and it's not that open ended. I probably read at the wrong site that didn't have the last chapter or something. So my only 'criticism' of the novel is gone. Haha.

It started out good then became actual tr*sh, I'm so freaking disappointed. Tbh I felt bad for ever recommending it to someone this was like 4-5 years ago but, it makes me literally nauseous. The ML is awful and shouldn't have been the love interest, it got so bad in the later arks that I had to drop it, it was disgusting what they were trying to portray as love.

Book aside, props to the translator they did their best and were super sweet :)

Im still in the early chapters (35) but I love it this far

I'm a fan of tragedy but I don't really wanna read a tragedy.. like I want to see characters growing, the ones who got hart heal and find love and family, I like it (so this novel take a place in my heart in 5 chapters)

though this far I found one thing that maybe make me dropp this novel...

why the hell every one see MC in such a good way?..i mean yeah he is good.. im simping... more>> for him but even a good person has people who hate them... no matter if someone is perfectly good there is still someone who will blame you or hate you..

Edit after reading more (55) : I will drop it it has potential but well much info make md bord I just skip most parts or drown in other things while I try to read this

And although there is this much of info there is still hols...i would wish Author just explain more about those holes in story over talking about MC beauty while suffering and how others see his act as kindness

(in one of those world thay were brothers and ML fall for MC, okay not biologics brother but still I feel bad) <<less

I honestly really really liked it. Each arc was very very unique and unlike other QT novels. The overarching plot line, I’m a wee bit confused by it and I feel a little underwhelmed by most of the ending. Although they all ended well, I keep feeling like an extra chapter would have made it all the more satisfying which is the reason why I didn’t include this novel in my rec list. But overall, truly a quality QT novel.

As a big fan of QT novels, I did like this novel, despite me disliking the torture p*rn, the dark comedy, the tropey SM play, or the protags suffering from continuous abuse and trauma. This is not a fluffy QT but there are quite a lot of fluffy interactions between the protags. So, for me, it was not as enjoyable as the other QTs I read before, but there was enough to entertain. The story, characters and world setting are all generally coherent and interesting, without any major plotholes that... more>> I noticed. Yes, some QT tropes and yaoi tropes are present but there are some unexpected originality with the evil pen, evil ghost and the little mushroom. Also, I kept reading because I like the funny dialogues and interactions between the protags and also the return arcs of course.

TBH, I did not feel any angst or sadness from all the tragedies. Author managed to keep everything lighthearted and superficial by using comedy and funny dialogues. Right from the first 3 chapters of horrific torture scenes, the comedy was already present (MC had to look pretty while undergoing 70hrs of torture?! ML falling in love while watching torture?! ppl even managed to go for lunch and then returned to watch some more torture?!). Can anyone take this seriously when even the author is clearly not?! So, right from the start, it is impossible to mistake this novel for anything but superficial dark comedy, with S&M tropes. No matter how tropey it gets with a yandere ML, an 'always a beauty' MC and consistently cliché stories and cliché worlds, I am still not tired of it all hahaha.... <<less

there's even an arc when MC turned into a pen and dolphin (oh, don't forget when he turned into a mushroom) lol anyway, it didn't hinder for the story not turning into an art.

The story is enjoyable as MC is not overpowered, he's intelligent and has his own ways to solve a problem :) however, the ML is kind of... almost turned me off for this novel. He is great at first, it is understandable as his soul is longing for someone, namely the MC.

Every arc, MC dies and leaves the ML alone. Of course, ML follows after, but he doesn't remember what happened in the previous arc. As it went by, however, he keeps on getting worse and worse to the point that, it really bugs me. He is a lascivious man who is which only thinking of having s*x, even r*pes the MC so casually which is really getting on my nerves (well, however, that didn't stop me from reading either, its either my bottom-line is too low or I just simply don't care [well, not really])

One thing I enjoyed also is Chen Xiao (I forgot his name, but the mole one), I pities him though he makes me laugh when his jealous, he is just as petty as the main soul lol. I just want to mention him here since he caught my attention

It hurts me when he said that when he receives the ml's memories, it allows him to feel like he had been there, feeling what the main soul had experienced.

For me, the story is unpredictable and amazing (thank you for translating this story!) which I enjoyed a lot when reading. The author didn't make thing easy for the MC nor too difficult for him not to solve. It is different from other transmigration stories I have read so I really had a great time reading the story.

This book is honestly wonderful. It can pull at your emotions! When I first read this it helped me vent my emotions from a mental breakdown, and now fininshing it again it allowed me release those. But even without my bias it is a truely wonderfully written novel.

Absolutely amazing! The arcs are well thought out and interesting. If I had to say, I think the only thing that sticks out is the MC and ml’s backstory. I feel like their connection was pretty rushed but it doesn’t impact the story that much. Either way I would highly recommend reading.

This novel was one of the first I ever read. It really pulled me in, and I was really invested in it. I read to the 13th arc, "Ghost Assistant", but was then forced to put it away to stay focused on other things. At that point, I had forgotten everything about this novel, but I finally remenbered it and re-read everything, I even finished it all!

It was a wonderful experience, and I feel happy this was one of the novels to pull me in this wonderful world of words,... more>> stories, fantasies...

To sum it all up, this novel is amazing. The main characters' relationship in every arc, the way they would get together every time... Looking at everything with a positive mindset would also be of great help to enjoy it!.

4/5!

PS: This novel also has dub-con, which is why I wouldn't give it a personal rating of 10/10.

PLOT: Basic premise is that it is a transmigration system. The system is rather cruel to our MC. Constantly putting him in danger and not giving him even an inch of respite. There are advantages, but very little!! Still, he makes do with what he has! There’s a hidden plot going on in the background to do with the SYSTEM and the endless death cycle that will be explored later on down the line. Also, it’s important to note that, just because an arc has ended, doesn’t mean that... more>> you don’t get to meet the characters again!

Characters:

  • MC - Shang Ke: A man that was cursed to undergo an endless cycle of reincarnation and death. He jumps between dimensions and is constantly given missions that push him to a heroic death. His personality is pretty chill by the end. Hard to put him in a jar. He cares a lot about ML, who he meets every life.
  • ML - (Too many names!!!) : ML plays a different role in every dimension as well. And since he has no memories of the past he changes in every arc. Though, he has a scummy aura all throughout that demands he claim his Keke~
THOUGHTS: I think this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I really like it!!! I think this is definitely worth the reread in the future~ <<less

AHHHHHH I LOVE LOVE THIS STORY SOOO MUCH!! I enjoyed almost all the arcs (except for one) and I love the authors imagination in building each arc. I also love the development of the feelings of the protagonists

now the question is why did I rate it only 4 stars? It's because of the very last arc!! Man, I thought im already immune to dubcon but im wrong. This story has dubcon all throughout the story don't get me wrong but it's still an okay for me. But in the last... more>> arc the "rape" part isnot really sitting right with 😔 also the last chapter*sigh* I wish to read more of their time together after the curse reincarnation but I guess the author already ran out of ideas for it, 🤷

nevertheless, I enjoyed this story sooo much!! It it wasnt for the last arc and last chapter this maybe my favorite qt novel yet. But still kudos to the wonderful author and translator!! ❤️ <<less

Edited translation is A++, and the unedited translation great.

Story was fun and had something to the overarching plot. The arcs weren't too long or short. Y'all know the gong flavour from the other reviews.

The wrap up felt kind of abrupt, like the author went "I'm done writing this story" and then we were done. That might just be me wondering why

The novel starts quite average, but it gets more interesting with every arc. I enjoyed the premise of the story going for heroic death mission, but left unsatisfied in the beginning due to abrupt end of each arc. Thankfully the arcs were revisited later on.

The romance is just weirdly developed. To be willing a relationship just because someone is obsessed with you. The MC is weird in this, and the ML is even more. There really isn't much period of getting to know each other personality, just straight to s*x.... more>> And too much of it which I thought was unnecessary & annoying in many ways.

I think the author tried to convey their deep love by the number of s*x they had not by feelings development. There is no courting period. No consensual agreement. I like you so I do you and you have to accept me.

And it's always the same in every arc, straight to r*pe, forced entry out of sudden, overlong endurance etc etc. No sense of time and place. Yeah we got it. It's overly used in every arc. Surprisingly the no-dignity-when-it-comes-to-ML MC loved it too. Even in the last arc when he was straight out r*ped, the ML thought he'd be angry. But the love-blind MC straight out reason his action calmly. Huh. It was infuriating reading that. I think this is the biggest flaw of the novel.

Nevertheless, aside from that, I generally like the MC's sunny and caring character, when he spent his skills to develop the people and the world he was in. Despite that being OOC to the world he was in. His flaw was in his lack of backbone when it comes to the ML.

Overall, if we disregard its flaws, the novel is quite an enjoyable read. Especially since I'm a lover of QWTFOTD and thus love QT novels. One time someone reviewed in QWTFOTD saying that this novel is better. So now I could say, I wholeheartedly disagree. <<less
