After an explosion, You XiaoMo finds that he is now a probationary disciple of the TianXin sect. However, he is one with dubious potential, so just when he starts to adapt to his new circumstances, he receives a piece of bad news. If he is unable to produce the required result after half a year to become an official disciple of the TianXin sect, he would be driven out of the sect.

While You XiaoMo is going all out to make medicines and earn money, he runs into Ling Xiao. To his horror, he later discovers that Ling Xiao is actually someone cloaked in human skin.

One of my fave reads, been rereading again recently. Personally for me, I read to release stress, so usually my type of books are those that are lighthearted and do not go too deep or complicated into the drama of the romance and cultivation, which is why this story really fits my taste (basically I like straightforward stories that flows well).

Although the ten firsts chapters are a bit hard to enjoy the story very quickly become extremely INTERESTING and FUN to read. This story is one of the few xianxia who possess a lot of humor while staying serious enough to captive. Really worth the time! (read up to chapter 130)

I'm not one to read much yaoi, but this one is really well done. I would read more yaoi if they were similar to this one. It reads more like a novel about cultivation rather than a straight up yaoi romance novel. The ratings are well-deserved.

This is really cute. I love the male leads, I ship them and vote for them to be one of the top leading yaoi couples. I wish there was a little more going on, but I'm satisfied with the way their little interactions make me go "Kyaaa! So cute!"

And for the plot, it's actually nicely written and does have some mysteries and wouldn't bore a person to death. Though there are some fillers here and there that makes you skim past it. All in all, pretty good read if... more>> you want to read a novel that has a little bit of bl but more like shounen-ai; you help me, I help you. Eh-hem! You know what I mean. <<less

Up to chapter 50, The Legendary Master’s Wife is more of an adventure story than a yaoi one. The translator too, recently confirmed that its yaoi content is very low. I believe this makes it a rare breed of shounen ai genre, particularly because so far the main theme seemed to dig on crafting/pharmacy path in another world. Theme-wise, it is attractive; the author’s storytelling is good too.

Edit at 68 chapters, rating moved up from 4 to 5:

There ARE quite steamy M/M scene, though so far there are no interc**rse.... more>> It does not detract the novel’s pluses that I’ve mentioned before, but it may discourage those who can’t stomach yaoi. It should also be noted that although there are rivalry and jealousy, but per the MC’s unique character, conflicts are resolved (and avoided) smoothly, while the OTP hilarious interaction and the flow of the story keep readers coming back for more. As the reviewer above said, it is a delightful read. <<less

This was the first novel I read and I have read it four to five times. It may seem a bit long but when you get to it you will binge-read it. It's an entertaining and interesting novel you should give it a try. Just give it a try, do not be guided by bad reviews just try.

I loved this novel. Completed in a week. It took a lot of patience and even though the ML and MC were not perfect but that what makes it realistic because real life is similarly treacherous. I like all of MC's friends and would have liked to know more about them in the extra's but still as a story it was ok.

at ch219, they found Liu Yue to impersonate Ling Xiao is very coninsidance. Some more, Dao Xin Acadamy accept registration with mask. I think it really nonsense. Famous acadamy yet lots of loophole suah as same person can register for multiple time under different identity.

in ch483, You xiao mo used crystal currency to settle poor villagers' herbs and land. It vividly mentioned higher rilm only use spirit gems. How come crystal coil can use here again.
Cang Alliance is such a rich and resourceful sec, yet still cannot acquire herbs (Ghost and Murraya) needs for Wei Bai though those herbs is auction at Zhong Ting Trade Fair market. I think should let Fu Cang Qiong (Cang Alliance) to handle those herbs collection and let them find Yu Xiao Mo to refine the pill. That actually happened in later chapter. Obviously writer tryed to crate some story by YXM finding herbs.

at ch510, suddenly Yu Xiao Mo can understand ancient script. The reason given by writer is comprehending characters of the script from Qiu Ran.

As usual, at ch517, writer forced the story of Divine Emperor beats cannot be contract beat with exception of new born. If baby tortoise is very important to the big family, why Mo Jing (baby turtle protector) don't carry any dimensional talismans in case of critical situation. Lack of logic. Just to create story for little turtle and YXM.

Ch533, Writer suddenly forgot dimension of both Ling Xio and Yu Xiao Mo at River Town when crossing the road. The boat can only accommodate 2 to 3 people, then YXM dropped his beast team at town to stay back. That's abit funny.

Ch644, Lin Xiao know about ancient war from You Family ancestor from Demon Beast Graveyard of ghost tomb mountain range. All along YXM is together with LX during meeting. How come LX knows but YXM. Normally ancestor will wake up due to YXM. He will not care LX at all. Apparently that ancestor answer LX before reincurnation. Writer conveniencely come out some handy plot to fill up the gap. Very irritating.

Summary, Writer is too greedy and don't want to loose any opportunity to extend the story. He/She leaves so many loose end so that able to create any skit to extend the story anytime convenience from ocean of loose story. Always handy for YXM needs such as fragrance wood. No chapter mentioned he transplanted them in his dimension but in later chapter, it handily came out for book shelf. He earns point with ancient recipe for learning skill and practice room. However, he wasted time with s*x, rubbish books to fill up shelf. Even didn't mentioned he did refining pills until ch 628. I can foresee writer will pull out some surprise with one statement "He regularly refining pill during last few months". To be fair, the story is very long and look like writer wasn't properly establish the story line. You may agree with me after reading later part because the story line is very shaky due to inconsistance. Whenever she tried to use what other writer used in those kind of Xuanhuan story, she forgot her novel has such a long story. If repeating randomly again and again, it will not good and reader will remember. Howerver, it's entertaining. I have no regret to start reading this until it end after few weeks. <<less

I’m so thankful for the translator because they did a great job, and made me want to keep going and finish this, even when the book became somewhat of a dragged. This one would have been even more fun if LX was more respectful of MoMo and if their xxxx scene looked less like s*xual assault. Because yes the adventure part was fun and MoMo antics were super cute and hilarious but the power dynamic btw the. MC and ML started to get tedious for me.

I was fooled by the warning in early chapters about that R stuff. Definitely not a rare scene. I actually enjoyed this super long novel (first time reading this lengthy) it was worth it. I actually want to read more. I still have questions left unsolved but it....

If you don't like light and build-up, funny and unnecessarily OP (type) of novel (or you want angst) this is definitely not for you coz this novel revolves in the MC and ML's control. But I suggest you give this novel a try... more>> coz it really did intertain me. Such a gem. Too bad I finished reading already. I want moreeeeee. <<less

Worth reading if you like levelling up type stories with lots of goofy moments, and are up for a very long novel. It dragged on at a few places for me, but overall I really enjoyed it. The world building and magic system felt interesting. There were many interesting side characters throughout.

I think my favourite part was the main character. A little s*upid, but very funny. It was enjoyable following his progression as he becomes more powerful and also maybe a little more morally grey (or at least cool with... more>> mu*der).

I wasn't sure about the main couple at the start. ML does bully MC in the beginning... and then lovingly later on, which isn't really personally my favourite dynamic. They ended up winning me over later in the book with their antics as they grow into more of an old married power couple. <<less

Wow where to begin! I completed this novel as part of a group read with a wonderful set of readers and it was just fantastic! I truly enjoyed this novel from beginning to the end. I loved how the MC grew into his powerful self through hard work and perserverance. All the people that always underestimated along the way, had to choke on it! I really love the transition! All the different arcs flowed in nicely! All the main points were not left out! I really enjoyed how this was... more>> a do or die world! There were so many funny parts! I really didn't feel the chapters at all, on the contrary it just flew by! I liked the way he named his beasts lol how he took care of them! There are just so many many things I loved about this novel. The ML was OP for sure! I liked that he also had to work hard as well and also got hurt in the process. I loved the MC's and ML's relationship, because it progress over time. You can see the love and the care they had for one another. We got to experience both the MC's and ML's background and it was refreshing! The world building was insanely well made!!!!!!!! The extra was a great way to end this novel and as it takes us back to the MC's family and his past, usually that is never revisited once the character transmigrate.

There is just so much I can possibly talk about, but EXR did such a great job at translating such a truly amazing novel and I'm really happy I was able to enjoy such an exquisite novel!!! Thank you for your hardwork and translation!!! <<less

The plot is quite simple. The second part of the book, after the relationship has been established and the cultivation system and world explained in full, becomes rather repetitive and dull. The time spent deepening the relationship between the two mains diminishes, as does the one with the other characters. New characters keep being introduced till the end, with their backstories quickly introduced but without ever being completely flashed out. The story quickly becomes a succession of Deus ex machina moments, as everything the couple needs to progress easily falls... more>> into their laps at the right moment, while their cultivation speed quickens more and more.

There is not much time devoted to exploring relationships throughout the book, it is quite action packed however, with the right amount of commentary from the crowd to put into perspective the greatness of the characters. There is also little romance, and little progress in that as well. The s*x is monotonous and always feels a tiny bit forced, with MC almost never taking the initiative. There are a few cute moments here and there, so in the end it's still readable. <<less

I haven't known true happiness since completing this story after binge reading it. Most of the time I'll get bored and drop a story but I completed all 700+ chapters and I think thats saying something about how consistently entertaining the story is
