The Otherworldly Adventures of a Super Naive Girl

Description

A heroine character transmigrates and gets busy expanding her golden halo of MC-ness.

A villainess character transmigrates and gets busy changing her cannon-fodder fate.

A side character transmigrates and gets busy stuffing her bottomless stomach. She holds a divine sword in one hand and a little bun in the other. She’s obedient, adorable, incredibly clueless, and frustratingly tightfisted with her words. So what does she do when she spies a cute blond?

Feng Wu: “Please marry me!”

Ming Xi: …

A hilarious story about an overpowered airhead in a world reminiscent of Coiling Dragon. This particular tale has an interesting mash of tropes.

Not the worst but definitely not even average, why is this rated 4.3?

If you're ever gonna read this then don't expect much serious action/drama. Comedy wasn't funny either. But go ahead if you dig a campus/cultivation drama with a lot of cliché romance of single celled organisms and their petty fights.

I've actually read this before because of the good ratings but never got to finish it cause I got bored. Then I encountered it again still with a high rating so I thought maybe it gets better in the later... more>> chapters. It did not.

Both times I read I only liked the first arc. Period.

Friends around Feng Wu were very fun, she herself and the villains were not. Most side characters much more dimensional than her. What she was in the first chapter is still who she is in the 614th chapter. The last chapter. Even Jasmine was more alive than her. And who was Jasmine? Just a sh*t-spitting cannon fodder who wasn't actually even a fodder for anything. She existed for hate's sake but even then she had more character growth then Feng Wu the protagonist.

All said and done, Feng Wu is just evidence that there can never actually be a purely kindhearted person ever on earth but a newborn babe/single creature taught to not commit evil and actually have luck enough to not encounter anything to make them commit evil. A myth.

After first arc is just boring petty chicken barking fights of delusional/entitled teenagers. The only ever fun characters that actually had characters and actually relatable character were legit only Jier, Ai lin, and Ink (?) yes not even Ming Xi. He was boring. My opinion anyway.

There were alot of arcs that really could've been done well without especially the return to Feng family arc. I would've skipped the whole thing if I knew. And many more arcs and chapters that weren't actually of any sense or purpose. Ironically, chapters going towards the conclusion were well-damn*d summarised. Within three or two chapters. Not a single intricate detail compared to hundreds of chapters with petty barking. I endured to the end just to read what Zi Cheng's end would be like but it was summarised not even five sentences in a single chapter.

Did I say I would've skipped the feng family arc if I knew? Scratch that. I would've skipped ever reading this whole novel If I knew.

Wow.

I regret it so much.

Nice meeting Jier but unfortunately this novel isn't about him. <<less

Honestly, I really wanted to like this, since it had such an interesting start to it. I enjoyed the setting of a magical academy in a fusion of western and eastern fantasy, and I was looking forward to seeing the growth of the MC as a person since she was such a blank slate unlike other MC's. There was also the lovable little bun; childcare is such a rarity in these kinds of stories, so I was really looking forward to seeing her raise the child.

Unfortunately... As of chapter 300... more>> all my expectations have been squashed. The child was foisted off on some magical beast nanny 2 months after he was born, and he was mentioned sparsely after that. There is absolutely no childcare at all, Feng Wu feels more like a big sister who occasionally teases the child rather than a mother. The academy setting is also completely wasted, since the students barely spend any time there. What kind of school is this, where the students seemingly spend more time running around adventuring in neighboring countries rather than in class? What's the point of the academy? Any learning, if there is any at all, is simply mentioned as happening offscreen.

This would't have been so bad if the adventuring had been good and there was sufficient character development, but unfortunately the novel falls woefully short there as well. At the start of the novel, Feng Wu is presented as this wonderfully naive and pure-hearted blank slate. She's grown up in an area where she had no friends other than the animals around her, and she was never taught any common sense. So what happens once she's thrust into the real world? Well, nothing. She stays the same. Actually, she might even regress a bit, and I suspect it's a case of abject flanderization. She started out as a pure-hearted and naive person, but at some point she turned into Forrest Gump, or perhaps even more mentally deficient than that. She has no agency of her own and is incapable of doing things without people telling her to do so. She's incapable of independent thought and critical thinking. It's frustrating.

As an example, around chapter 300, the group she's in was discussing a couple of idiots who were selfish and left them behind. She contributed to the discussion by saying "Bad people", because that was all her limited vocabulary allowed. How is that even possible, seeing as she's spent the last 250 chapters or so reading all kinds of books? Early on, she read through half a library because her reading speed was crazy good, and after she started chasing the ML she started reading all kinds of romance novels, but all these books seem incapable of teaching her anything at all. Again, it actually feels more like she's regressing rather than advancing.

All in all, I think I'm just gonna stop reading here. I don't see a point in continuing to read for the side characters and their adventures alone, when these weren't the things that attracted me to the novel in the first place.

As a sidenote, does the author... hate women? For some reason any woman in the story that's not tomboy tough girl has some kind of serious flaw to her, making her unlikable. Any pretty girl is automatically the enemy of all women. Most of them are scheming and awful. I don't get it. Isn't the author a woman herself? <<less

It's a decent novel but can’t considered great.

Maybe they planned many chapters and lost interest to stop it in midway, because neither character nor events were explained.
Especially the women’s horrible death in boat, or purpose of serpent, it goes on.
I don’t find the ending abrupt. Because from start they didn’t explain much like what they faced in crossing the forest from start or clearing all levels in water god tomb.

But we can still enjoy in between these, Female lead, mystery part or some side characters are good. Especially... more>> the male lead character is great not tsundre or OP.

It’s good read, if you forget everything then and there. <<less

This story wasn't perfect but overall, it's still enjoyable to read. Some arcs were interesting, others were boring, and there were also some arcs that were a bit draggey while others were a bit rushed to finish.

Like the title stated, we had a super naive and dense transmigrator as our MC and she only had a role as passerby at that which was quite refreshing if I must say. You don't need to worry the story would become boring because of the dull MC though as the author would provide... more>> other POVs throughout the story. I especially loved Ai Lin's POV and she's my favorite transmigrator in this story.

Unfortunately, in the few last chapters, it felt like MC was kicked out from the main story. She wasn't included in many quests involving the heroine anymore. So many events happened off-screen and MC didn't even participate in the final war. I know MC just wanted to a salted fish but as the MC, I still hope her role could be more than that since she had that heavenly sword which we still didn't know its real power yet till the end.

In those few last chapters, it really felt like the author suddenly wanted to finish the story as soon as possible so those chapters felt more like sunmary rather than a whole story. Thankfully, the author was still kind enough to tie the loose ends but it's still inevitable to forget some characters since there were so many of them.

Spoiler

For example, what happened to Feng Yanran after the fight with the Blood Clan's prince? What happened to MC's friend in the Masters team? What happened to Mei Luo, the demonic human who helped kidnapping Xiao Ye? What happened to White Lotus the phyton (he was rarely mentioned again after the arc's finished) ? And did Ai Lin managed to prevent Nelli (the one whose entire family was killed by the heroine) to become the heroine's cannon fodder?

I've reached the point where the latest cannon fodder female character got ditched by her boyfriend for another girl (which she knows) and then got lost at sea, and the cannon fodder female character screams at the main characters, telling them they must have purposefully betrayed her boyfriend somehow (she wasn't there for any of this) and tries to force them to save her boyfriend with zero leverage of her own. If it was only one character who was like this, then that's still acceptable, but there are too many... more>> insane female cannon fodder characters to count.

Basically, majority of the female characters are irrational, crazy, jealous, boy-crazy or ruthless psychos who have ever-changing IQ levels. The only good female characters are basically the Female Lead and a tiny number of female characters who like her, and they are all Not Like The Other Girls.

The baby is a prop who appears when convenient, put away when not convenient. The male characters are mostly good guys, where even the rare antagonistic male cannon fodder characters aren't made to be all that irrational or s*upid. The male villains are mass mu*derers but don't worry, the story will focus more on their unhinged love-crazy girlfriends who sacrifice humankind or their family for their villainous boyfriends. Don't forget, killing hundreds of people is bad, but not as bad as being the villain's girlfriend.

I was intrigued by the premise but the execution is woeful and the writing was below average. I was really sticking it out to find out what happens to the other transmigrators. Even putting aside the implausible number of extremely irrational love-crazy female characters, each subplot is resolved in a rather anti-climactic way. It'll start off interesting and then end on a flat note. Gave up at about midway point and regret that I didn't stop earlier. <<less

At first, the story was interesting and I enjoyed reading it. However, the more characters were introduced, the more evident it was that most of the female characters other than the MC were simply there to make her look good. The cannon-fodder female villains are one-dimensional and reckless.

Spoiler

One of the first few scenes involved an interaction between the MC and some female students from the school. The MC only came out of the stall when they automatically decided that they were enemies and that the MC must definitely have been spying on them. Automatically, they wanted to eliminate the MC without any sort of provocation. Shocking, I know.

[collapse]

In contrast, the male characters aren't nearly as infuriating or foolhardy. Again, surprise.

The plot is interesting and the arcs are engaging. It would have been perfect if the female villain characters had more depth. Or if they at least had an ounce of intelligence that most women would be capable of portraying. <<less

The description really justified the story. It is so good! I read other reviews and they said that the novel is kind of a bit rushed but for me I think it's okay. There are certain things that are not too detailed and our very own naive little protagonist though strong, wasn't the kind of overpowered female lead that everything revolves around her. Nah, but it was still worth it specially the fluffy and innocent romance of our two main leads. The end part part, specially the war, is not... more>> too detailed but events like that in a story, I will immediately get bored if it is too long, like it will occupy a lot of chapters so no no. This one is so good. It's like how Feng Wu would definitely summarized the report about the war with the help of Han Xia.

I was satisfied with the ending cause I think it is for the best. I was happy for Jasmine's change in the end and glad that Zi Cheng died. Really! That selfish thing really deserved it. And Feng Ye! His interaction with his little brother at the end was quite funny. <<less

So I've decided to write this review 3/4 through reading what's been translated because a cannon fodder side character with my irl name was mentioned for the first time in this story and it's spooked me. I was afraid the MC would be too s*upid, but she's not s*upid in every way and has a good memory. She's the type of character that could be called strong without being directly considered a mary sue. She's nearly the simple and loyal mysterious male lead trope. She's an airhead when it comes... more>> to revenge and keeping track of people, but it almost works as a cheat, and gives me, as a ready, less to try to have to worry about.

Every trope is artfully stuffed into this story, but it's done artfully and humorously, so it doesn't pull me out of the story since all the interactions are realistic. No one is completely brain dead, but there are more immoral characters than moral characters, in order to make more realistic room for tropes. This is especially true for women because there are more types of selfish women tropes. The only real baddies in this story are the protagonist and the vampires, but everyone else is just kind of in their own world. <<less

It's a fun read. MC is very loveable and even if she stayed a naive and pure character until the end, she still had some character development. ML is just dreamy and has no flaws. MC is surrounded by great friends, especially by her best friend, Jier. MC is powerful in her own right, but she's not the most powerful. She did not even participate in major battles because her strength is not enough. She's very obedient - if a friend tells her to stand back in a fight,... more>> she will do so.

There will be 5 oddities in this world.
Spoiler

1. MC who transmigrated from a wuxia world.

2. Zi Cheng, the book heroine, who transmigrated from the modern world with a system cheat.

3. Irene (I forgot her name in the official trans.) who transmigrated into a cannon fodder in the book from the modern world with a space cheat.

4. MC's master who caused MC's transmigration.

5. Xia Zuo (name in mtl) who was reborn.

It's a happy ending where every major character either gets married or have a successful career.

Surprisingly good!

The MC is naive, but not an idiot or an annoying goody two shoes.

Story is good, light-hearted & engrossing

... more>> Negative:

At times I wish the story had more of her side tho... also, I get that we have a simple minded protagonist, but why can't she improve/adapt her life skills and learn some common sense!!

(ノಥ, _」ಥ) ノ彡┻━┻

It's too long so I've kinda read some RAWS & summaries before ditching this novel, despite liking it. Maybe I'd have read it if it were fully translated. But MTL is too much of a bother. <<less

Having 3 other world travelers made everything more interesting as we get to see their POV.

The MC stays simple and pure from beginning to end, which I really appreciate.

Irene really reminds me of the MC from HSSB in regards to being the "villain". She works hard not to become cannon fodder and does everything she can to prevent Zi Cheng from becoming "God".

I didn't really expect Zi Cheng to be so heartless, only caring for herself and pretending to be nice to gain favor from others... *sigh* I thought she would have more character than that. Seems like she's the white lotus type :/ But I can't really blame her for doing what she does bc she's also trying to survive...

The 4th traveler surprised me but I'm happy he was able to prevent future disasters from happening :)

Though there are some unanswered questions like the blood family, ancients, virtual world, etc. but I guess its alright since it doesn't deviate from the main plot? I also wonder what happened to their other friends : (this will forever a thorn in my heart.

If anything, I wish we had more pov from the other travelers, especially Irene, I love her.

This is one of the most stress free story. Sure, some suspense here and there but none of which would make you choke your phone. I love the MC. The “Villianess” is okay. She’s more realistic and reasonable than a certain annoying person...

The Heroine... Have you here of the saying “tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are” ? Had the author not defaulted her character as “good” I say she’s a hypocrite bit*h who’s borrowing a knife to kill. The sl*t basically surrounds herself... more>> and is currently making an Avengers of Most annoying 2D antagonist. I don’t like her. She’s the most unnatural than anyone. I can’t stand people like her. She disgusts me?

aside from that, the story is flawless- well, it’s not perfect but you get the point. Enjoy?? <<less

I really loved this story. It was arc based but also slice of lifeish, especially with Feng Wu mostly just living her life and reacting to what's happening around her. I like that she is strong from the beginning and even though many of the characters are trope-filled and numerous, it can be seen to be satirical and just funny.

I liked that the story was long but the arcs didn't really drag too long for me. I kind of wish there was a bit more described ending but I can... more>> see why the ending was a glossed over since Feng Wu is the MC and she had already achieved her goals.

Cons: I didn't like that there were loose ends like the Blood people and Yanran. Or the demon human from the Blue Moon Castle arc who never showed up again even though she is supposedly strong and can disguise herself. Also there were different plot tools or just places that were mentioned once and then forgotten like White Lotus, the snake Feng Wu got. Another thing is Feng Wu's origins and why she is so powerful or why she can talk to animals and plants. I felt like there was something there but it was never talked about in detail.

Other than that though, I liked each adventure and I liked Feng Wu's narrations sprinkled in with Ai Lin and Zi Cheng to spice things up. Overall 4.7 stars <<less

i like it at first but around the start of schooling arc. The MC no longer felt like the MC. Too many side character. Too many pov. The MC even rarely gets a pov. Very rare scene with the baby. Too many lines from side characters. I mean she's fading out. Her character also keeps on changing. From naive to reserve no presence girl

One thing I really like is the translator though. Super reader friendly. No ads. No too many clicks. It's the first time I've seen something like this... more>> ❣️ <<less

Its good and one of many refreshing reads ive had lately. The comedy is ok. The writing is so-so coz to be honest it wasn't really written well. On the first few chapters its kinda dull then on around 100+ author throws some punchlines which isnt that funny as it was written like some nosy bystander dropping unnecessary comments.

Just finished reading. I'm very grateful to the translator for making it so far. This is a very good novel to read. I have been longing for a transmigrated story wherein the MC didn't know the contents of the novel and the plot continued accordingly. Although the brain dead supporting characters with zero IQ was a pain to read, I just love how our MC and ML are. They are not overly OP and isn't always the center of the solution. There are plot holes which I think the author... more>> just plain forgotten and the last 100 chapters were extremely shortened like a draft, the novel is still worth the read. From what I've read in the reviews. This novel is a hit or miss to some people. For me it's definitely a hit. Love the protagonist's simple nature which makes the novel easygoing but not to the point it's s slice of life. The adventures are there and the thing that drives me insane (in a good way) are the characters. They are chaotic and I am all in for it while the protagonist is chilling in the background but somehow still gets drag into the chaos.

Novel had a really great start and the 'adventures' in the title is literal as there are numerous arcs in the stories of fighting villain after villain. The earlier stories were written in detail yet towards the end the author rushed to end it. Most chapters in the end were just narratives.

Although the quality of writing is lacking for my taste and little (if not none) character growth, but the world building makes up for it. That's why for me it's a 5☆ and barely a gem.

Also, TL is doing... more>> a wonderful job. Keep up the good work! <<less
