That girl departed from this world when she was still young. About one year after her death, she was reborn as a different person with her memories intact. She lived her second life in a different city, with a different family, a different body, and with a new name.

She had been leading an uneventful life, until one day, she had to move out of town due to her mother’s work circumstances. That is, to the nostalgic town where [the girl before she was reborn] had once lived.

She returned to the town where she had lost everything, and she encountered a young lady whose face resembled that of her special one.

DO NOT READ THIS CRAP STORY.
Spoiler

I'm so angry I have to register just to leave a review for this. It started out nice and fluffy enough that you aren't prepared for het r*pe. And the thing is that the het r*pe of a middle schooler wasn't even the worst that this sh*t has.

Convoluted plot that make more and more terrible things happen in a true edgelord fashion. Raping a middle school girl and the rapist can use just 1 sentence to make a mother who loves her daughter want to kill her? Telling a middle schooler to keep a rapist's fetus against her will because "it's still a life", never mind how damaging it is to the girl's young body and mind and future? And if she doesn't love the child after being coerced into giving birth to it, she's a bad woman? The girl hating her mother for arguing with the father even though he is the one who cheated on her?

Nothing in this garbage make any sense. It's melodrama for the sake of melodrama, and chillingly casual misogynistic. It's callous to women's autonomy and villianify the victims, make them have nonsensical antagonistic relationship with each other for no reason than "women who aren't endless forgiving to their abusers are b*tches." I want to kill every single character in this book, especially the protagonist. She deserved dying that horrible death for her ret*rded pro-life propaganda. Anybody who actually cares for a girl would never tell her she's wrong to want to abort a fetus she doesn't want.

I'm shaking with rage, just thinking about how many girls out there being bullied into keeping an unwanted pregnancy. Their pain is always swept under a rug while other people can pretend to be "moral." It kills.

I really love this.!!

Sigh. I must say that this made me really think of life. things.. in a different perspective. Even when I feel really hopeless, depressed, cornered and exhausted already... This really touched my heart. :)
This made me feel somethings gentle and heartfelt, hehe, I'm getting embarrassed by what I'm trying to say :P

Don't be discouraged by the 'drama' genre or the description being not that inviting/tempting, I'm really certain that most people will like this novel.!!

I myself don't really like the 'drama' genre or tag so... more>> I avoid novels that has it since it gave me moods etc. but this novel is uplifting, a great one! The so called 'drama' in this is one to be felt and appreciate, not like others that make people suffer, so go ahead.!!

I'm not really a good reviewer and I also only review those that made me really want to.

Hopefully more readers can appreciate and enjoy this novel ^^

Much appreciation for Aoitenshi in sharing this to us.!! Really love it.!! T~T <<less

I had to write this review after seeing the review of DBR, who made a review that is as bad as it can possibly be. To sum it up, he basically doesn´t respect people with different opinions and since one of the characters is exactly one of those, the story is supposedly crap.

Spoiler

Just because someone is pro-life (in this case tsubaki) and wants to support their friend in their own way he thinks of them as a horrible person who deserves to die, even though the other party (Hiori, the victim) is respectful and undertands the Mc´s opinion

So, for the actual review:

I think it's a very heartwarming story with some heavy aspects like you can imagine from the r*pe tag, but please don't let that stop you from reading it. It's a worthwhile read from my point of view. If you're still reluctant read this (I´ll mark it as a spoiler but it doesn't give details on anything and might make you reconsider it) :

Spoiler

The part from the tag actually has already happened before the official start of the story, so the characters are mostly over it, but it still has effect on the story, however, you won't have to worry that anything like that will happen to them again. While I was reading I was constantly worried about something happening to them, but knowing they are already over it would have made my worries a little bit lighter. I'm not saying that what happened is by any means better by happening before or dismissing it as something that does not matter and wouldn't have been traumatic.

[collapse]

The Yuri is secondary to the story since it focuses mainly on the Mc´s relationships with the people around her. It will appear a bit more at the end but is something I feel is just a bonus as I recommend focusing on the rest of the plot.

The chapters are not very long and there aren't that many, but I loved it a lot and the translation is also good. And although the translator got one of the character's name wrong if I'm not mistaken, it doesn't change anything in the in the story.

Totally recommend <<less

Binged it. Loved it. Interesting heartfelt story.

Not sure wtf that DBR guy was saying under the review section. Dudes delusional because this sh*t was gorgeous.

(Seriously though I think that DBR kid is a bit screwy in the head. Not sure how the guy got so many likes though he probably botted his review...)

... more>> The only fault I could find was that the translation was a bit off putting to native born English speaker. Though that's not even faulting the story

4.7/5 for me. Seriously got me emotional at some points and I ain't exactly a sensitive guy.... most times.

Here we've got a love story that seemed to be lost in the background in the beginning. This kind of love stories are hidden gems, and they don't make anyone feel flustered or excited. Instead this kind of love story will make anyone feel content. There is no need for any "action" between the characters. Because of this, as the theme of this novel is a shoujo ai, it feels a lot more precious, as all emotions are gentle.

Give it a try, you may enjoy it.

Ok, first review ever on NU cuz yea......

K so let me praise the translator for updating this and keep up the good work!!!

So the novel itself, taking into consideration that I have read up to 11 chapters, I find it to be really interesting and having a lot of potential to develop into several situations. I love seeing her conflict between her past life and her present life, especially when she is confronted by her past acquaintances and relatives. Those situations end up being bittersweet and salty, because of the... more>> conflict and resolution she has. It just let me feel the feels and that just got me.

It's a solid 5/5.

Reading this novel is a FEELTRIP. The more I read of it, the more emotions I felt.

Honestly I hesitated picking this one up due to that "R*pe" tag and the 1 star comment. And yes as you will expect, it'll be disgusting and you'll have that bad after-taste after reaching that part of the story.

But nonetheless overall story balanced* that negativity, hence my full marks.

PS: Although I sincerely wished that piece of sh*t got at least arrested or something along the line.

The story is nice. How she struggles and how she resolve these problems. Overall, this is the best story I read when it comes to girl liking girl. Slow process but fluttering and full of lessons.

DAMN is all I have to say. But.. QAQ it felt like I should've cried but then the ending just made me smile in a happy/sad way that I don't know how to convey it to words.

I have to admit though, I was confused in the beginning on how the chapter started with the MC's POV that I thought that the "rape" tag might be related to her. But! I persevered and continued because everyone in the review's section encouraged people like me to keep on reading and IT WAS... more>> WORTH THE READ.

Was it a crappy story just like what DBR has said? NO. Why? Because although there were some parts that I didn't quite grasped from the very beginning, the progression of the plot was like a 'tsubaki' flower in bloom. Or er... flowers that are in the process of blooming? Anyway, I sacrificed my sleep time just for the sake of finishing this story.

Also, this story almost felt similar to Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' in a kind but different way that the MC reincarnated 16 years in the future where everyone that she knows (and is alive) are living their lives happily but with a kind of shadow that they still bear because of what happened in the past. Also, the 'rape' tag may seem confusing at first in the thought that the said tag might be related to the MC's past. But sadly, that's a no. The only thing that I can say is including that tag there made me, and everyone else I think, to feel a certain kind of emotion where the characters in this story held a sort of ambiance related to the said tag.

I'm not sure if any one would be offended upon seeing the 'rape' tag on this story but the only thing that I ask all of you is that, be open-minded and don't be eluded by the fact that this story may seem mediocre and that a certain review comment said it was crappy. Japanese novels like this one are always, for me, is written as the best of the best. Such stories created by Japanese authors got me with "expect the unexpected" state when reading any of their stories especially GL ones. I may seem biased in saying this but to me it's the truth. <<less

Actually, the first time I skimmed this novel, reading the synopsis, I pushed it at the back of my to-read list.

It's true that the first few chapters made me lost track of who's talking or monologue-ing.

But, as I read this, I was captivated by its warmth, just like the title.

... more>> So, read this novel, for the warmth that its offering.

Forget what DBR says, and give this a go, and then judge it for yourself.

DBR was saying that based on a logic that was align with his/her own personality, not others. There's many people who taken the route like as of the love interest of this novel, Hiori. So suck it up, thats life.

Give this novel a chance, and I would like to thank the author, for this beautiful piece. Thank you, but please write a more appealing synopsis later if you're writing new novel. <<less

After reading this, I could eat 5 whole bowls of rice!! It's just so pure and soft. I mean, not to say that nothing hurts, because boy are there some emotional punches in here, but nonetheless there's an inherent warmth. A Warm Place is a really apt title.

If you want a wholesome and overall happy story that tickles your heart, then you should read this. It's the kind of story you read when you want something light but rich. It doesn't really delve deep into the trauma, which bugs me that the bad guy walks free and pretty much unscathed. That realization of being in love is also a little bit rushed.

with regards to the entire story didn't feel very needed honestly. I suppose it's fine since it was in the extras, but still.

It was a very good read. The translation was passable as well. There were passages and phrases that read weird from the perspective of an English reader, but that can be forgiven. Please give this novel a try. <<less
