Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick, Stanislas Wawrinka, Marcos Baghdatis, and there might be a few more I've forgotten.
1. The rivalry aspect is played up early but is kind of crap. The MC blows past his rival early on and never really is competitive again. I fear this may be the fate of the MC's first rival in the author's current novel, BEM, as well.
2. The characters are somewhat under-developed, including the MC. Sure, he can be completely expressionless when he plays (kind of his original superpower even before the time travel) but he seems to have no emotions at any time, other than the desire to get better at tennis.
3. There is no romance at all until the epilogue, when suddenly after a 3 year timeskip we find out he's married to his agent. The relationship comes out of nowhere, because we've spent hundreds of chapters with no developments in that area.
It does reminds me of Prince of Tennis with MC showing off 'cool named techniques' which I always found helpful to remember, but hopefully author doesn't go too crazy and exaggerate too much with it
- If you like tennis, this seems pretty 'true to the basics' (special moves aside).
