She is a descendant of an Ancient Chinese Aristocratic family. Having just transmigrated into a young lady’s body filled with aphrodisiacs, she had no choice but to pounce at a random man upon arrival.

Unexpectedly, not only did she get caught red handed, she’s also pregnant with child before marriage.

In the end, the baby she carried for ten months turned out to be a little fox, and it could cry “Mama” once born? Fortunately for her, the child is well-behaved, kind, and caringly protective of his mother.

In this world filled with both evil and good, this pair of mother and son will work together to destroy all their adversaries. As for the scumbag relatives who scorned them, they will make them pay dearly with regret in mind.

But then one day, baby fox’s father suddenly showed up, not only to steal the child, but to steal her too? How can there be such a good thing? This foolish father of his, didn’t even ask for little fox’s opinion?

Stabbing his hands to his hip, a certain little fox demands: “You want to be my father? First pay up then go behind the line. Mother, I think next door’s Uncle Wang is quite rich, you can just become Uncle Wang’s daughter-in-law.”

First thing you should do if you decide to read this story: throw away your logic. If you do so, your brain won't hurt as much and you can relatively try to digest the story. Full of half-satisfying face slapping, I guess I can say that I'm half satisfied with how the story goes. I'm not allergic with op MC, but this story makes me feel like the op-ness is all for naught. I mean, imagine killing a rat with a nuclear weapon, and yet the rat, albeit being half... more>> dead, is still alive and actively seeking dead. Repeat the moves a dozen times and voila you have read 200 chapters.

Still a quite entertaining read though, you can give it a try. Again, a wise advice from me;

logic, what logic? <<less

Angst, too much angst people, I couldn't get past it; it started out really nice like so nice and am like I better sink my nails in this one and skim through real quick, maybe just maybe they might sit down and have a heart to heart (like lay all their cards on the table you know) but no, even when they looked like they were talking things through they still left alot of things out esp the MCi came growing liking her to dislike then hate eventually... more>> I dropped it plus the chapters were really long and their misunderstandings just kept piling up. Honestly the thing that had kept me holding on past 200 chapters was their son but even that grew old real quick. <<less

The books pretty good. If you look at the cover art, then look at that tiger, is it just me, or does the tiger look random? Like a copy and paste sort of tiger?

I haven’t read this book in a long time, but from my memory, it was a alright read. It had the transmigrated agent, the face slapping, and the cultivation element.

Though the part where the author completely skips her growth at the beginning is just... it just feels rushed.

Like most long novels in this genre, the content eventually devolves to a 3-star level at maximum after a few arcs. This novel settled into its filler pattern quite early compared to other novels, but I’m quite impressed at how the author manages to repeatedly use the same archetypes in different ways. I gave 4 stars for ingenuous use of cliches. The author is clearly working from tropes rather than real life experience, but manages to be highly creative about it without going overboard with unrealistic details.

Example:

Spoiler

At most, the story often forgets that the MC is pregnant once the rice has been cooked. For example, the main character spent at least 3 months within a realm that sped up time to be three years and did some travelling, yet we are to believe only 3 months had passed for the MC since the beginning of the pregnancy... lol.

[collapse]

There is quite a bit of seemingly instant travel in this story making it hard to gauge if the world is small or cultivators are really fast. Most of the time the author does take the delays in account when setting up situations, but that can also make what is going to happen next more obvious. Why is X coincidentally visiting Y at the same time as Z when they only meet once every few years due to old grudges? Well, we know we will find out within the next 20 chapters!!!

My point is that this story still manages to stand tall despite this obvious construction of characters and events. It’s worth reading if you need to pass time and want something to read that isn’t too objectionable.

Only Trigger Warning:

Spoiler

The MC had r*ped the Male lead. Don’t read if that’s something that bothers you. It doesn’t go into detail of that initial scene that I can recall, but it is brought up a few times throughout the story.

You may also avoid if s*x scenes bother you. They don’t go in enough detail to be longer than a paragraph, but do tell enough to give you an idea of what is going on.

I actually wish the future s*x (?) scenes were not elaborated on as a personal preference. The author is... not experienced, or at least not used to describing s*x, if their writing is anything to go by. Each time the ML just intrudes suddenly with little to no warning or preparation. It’s not offensive, but I’d honestly rather not know about their terrible s*x life.

I wholeheartedly read the few first chapters and thought it was quite interesting with the dog blood drama until FL abandoned her sole brother, who sold his last hidden gem from their decreased mother, to get money for her. It is pointed out that the siblings were starved on purpose all the time by the stepmother, faced great cruelty, their wealth left by their mother stolen by the stepmother's family, etc. The FL is a transmigrator but uphold to seek revenge for the original's owner injustices. FL returned five years... more>> later to seek revenge and saw her brother again. Instead of hating the FL for abandoning him to deal with the stepmother's cruelty, he forgave her and begged her not to abandon him again and love her wholeheartedly. Even the FL mentioned that she thought of him time to time but never bothered to go get him while she is living comfortably in those five years? PFFT. Then I was just turned off and jumped ahead and skimmed the rest of the chapters and it had gotten dumb to worse to severe eye rolling. Dropping this novel. <<less

Eh, not the worst thing I've read, but honestly the entire story probably could have been cut in half. They spent all this time getting their feelings together and then some dumb stuff happens that splits them up and it's like we're starting the story all over again. I enjoyed it up until that point. Then I was just like "really? Really."

It's a meh story for me. That being said, I still ended up finishing it lol.

Spoiler

The epilogue was kind of cute with the daughter though.

The story as a whole is pretty good, but and this is a very big 'BUT' due to the fact that each scenario become an arc. This can be very frustrating considering the translator only released one or two chapters per day. I can see why the translator like translating it as the chapters are really really short. Because of the draggy way and how short are the chapters it is very frustrating and that's how it ruined what could be a very highly enjoyable story. I am giving it... more>> 5 stars regardless. <<less

Truth be told. I would have rate this 3-stars at best.

The Female MC is decent. My feeling is indifferent to her, not like, not dislike. Though it's inclined to "dislike" a bit. Just a bit!

The Male lead is pretty good. Though kinda psycho at first, now he's good enough in my book, barely.

The second lead probably will appear later after his brief appearance in the earlier chapters, and some mentions here and there. He's my kind of man, detached but gentle and caring. Not cold at all, at least that's... more>> what I gather.

The saying, "The male lead is for the female lead, whilst the second lead is for the reader" is true indeed.

Why I would have rate this 3-stars? This story is just too bland. Good for filling bored times where you didn't know what to do in life, but wouldn't make me wait for the next update. BLAND!!! It's just.... monochrome? The female lead, I don't favor her at all. I'm thoroughly indifferent to her.

Which is strange as whenever I like a story, I would have like the MC, no matter what! Whether the MC is cute or cool. Gentle or black-bellied. Warm or cold. I would love them! Especially true to FMC cuz' I'm also a girl.

But the FMC is just too bland. bland. bland. I don't even care if she appeared and will only read without any excitement.

The villain is the standard 1-dimensional chinese ln villains. Thoroughly frustrating, self-righteous, dumb and brainless proud nobles and princesses.

The face slapping is decent. Not grand. Bland. Just simply there and... well exist. But not satisfying like the other faceslapping novels imo. I mean,

Spoiler

For faceslapping, she only gave what? One prestigious thing. and then, it's there. Bland.

[collapse]

The emotional reaction from the crowd after faceslapping is also very bland. For faceslapping. But for rotten revealition, it's decent. At least there's enough emotion there. but not enough to get you deeply satisfied and excited.

It's just monochrome. Not enough to get my dislike, actually, I would have it 2.5stars. But since, this novel had done nothing went past my bottom-line, I'll give it three.

Now why I gave it 4stars instead? what make me gave a full and a half point after all those "bland"s I typed up there? let me tell you....

Spoiler

It's the sister. The freakishly sweet and adorable sister of the ML. Di Xiao Wan. Upon her official appearance in the human world after escaping the Demon Realm, she lighten up my mood terribly well and I love her to death! Is this how those people, who liked side characters better than the MC, feels? I love this feeling! I adore her so much that I want to make a story based on her and her mysterious State Teacher who was said to be doting on her so much!

My bland mood for reading this novel increased dramatically whenever she made a major appearance of getting in trouble. Even her inner dialogue are all fantastic! The MC's inner monologue? bleh, She tried to be funny but they're all forced and added with her indifferent and detached personality, that I dislike a bit (Because too bland! I've seen many detached and indifferent female MC, and she's the worst in term of doing it!).

Di Xiaowan? Haha! She's hillarious! It all came up with her personality and the line is not forced at all! It's just felt natural and refreshing! Whenever she's not in the story, it's just get bland again. I even bookmarked my favourite chapters which had her in it.

And let's not forget, Chu Yiyi, The second lead's little sister, who appeared in the middle while her bro is in closed door cultivation, the famous pampered Little Witch of Holy Land is DXW's accomplice, rival, and friend in this! Though they still furiously compete on whose brother can get the MC's heart.

[collapse]

Srsly, The MC is actually only have the beauty and 'such goddess temperament', in my eyes as a decent reader who had read dozens and maybe almost a hundred CN novels here. She's not even deserve the position as the FMC if she's compared to other FMCs I've read. Ruthlessness? Ha! you guys could even see that one facial expression disability patient in a certain novel is much more ruthless in killing the entire clan in just less than a month.

Beauty? Her beauty is not so much brought up aside for "red dress and was once the most beautiful girl in the kingdom" once in every fifty or maybe hundred chapters. Her beauty is not captured at all. Many other novels captured their FMC's beauty very well that you as a reader feel proud of them, but this? Not so much.

All in all this is terribly boring. You won't remember this after a while. The story line is only based on faceslapping and her child as well other trying to get revenge in her behalf when she's not looking.

I would even rate it 2-stars had it not for my fav character in the spoiler part. <<less

So there is one way to describe this novel: the fast food of transmigrating into the useless miss and get revenge novels. Legitelt this is McDonald's. If you're looking for a nice full course meal with everything:

i.e.: Well fleshed out characters, good and not s*upid villians, elaborate revenge schemes, descriptions of any kind, any type of actual challenge for the main character, or just all of the things that make a novel great.

If you're looking for the stuff above then this is not for you. Everything happens bing, bam, boom... more>> and done. Revenge happens like that with no consequences and like I said it's fast food, a quick easy bite out to eat.

What this story is, is enjoyable at least for me. If you're looking for your fix for some quick and easy face slapping then this is it. You got 1 dimensional villians that satisfyingly get theirs and that fills the craving while you wait for the other epics ones to update or if your searching for one.

And if for no other reason, the mother-son duo is really cute and fun and I wish there were more stories with their dynamic. To have a little kid destroy anyone who disses his mom is just so great. And aside from them there are some really enjoyable interactions between the family next door but that might just be me. The family next door to the MC might be one of my favorite characters in this story. Their hilarious and I live their dialogue.

As for the translation, there are a number of grammatical errors and misspelling but it's not to bad. An editor would fix that but it doesn't bother me and it's not unreadable but if you obsess over small things like that then this might not also be for you. I'm just thankful for the daily update schedule.

Long story short: definitely not the best of this genre out there but a very fun and quick ride. I really enjoyed it because sometimes you want a break from eating steak all time and sometimes a good hamburger a fries is all you crave. So 5 stars from me. <<less

It had a good start.

Scenario was interesting, characters were interesting, impeding OPness of MC was interesting...

But it kinda failed to actually have any meaningful plot besides getting revenge in bold and rash ways. After a while I just couldn't continue reading this. It tries to have clever characters but it's mostly the once-strong enemy doing something high-handed and getting curb stomped. Rinse and repeat.

If you like revenge, go for this but besides that most characters are kinda flat, heinous, and or unpleasant.

I'll give it a 3, I'm not really a fan of romance novels but HM really got hooked me up. Sadly when I tried to read other novels they seem to pale a lot compared to HM.

Here are some of the Pro's in the novel:

The kid I guess? Its really used a lot of times in romance novels wherein the child is ultra cute. Though the nice thing about the kid was his mischievousness.

... more>> The plot was not really badly done, just that it was way too rushed.

Now let's talk about the cons

I'll only give 2.

First is how the setting wasn't really done well. There were a lot of inconsistencies in the story like how was it that she suddenly got a Master and create Dans that were worth a lot.

lastly is the vengeance, it was funny at first when she did her Vengeance to her enemies but as it continues it got way too boring. <<less

I love this book because of the characters and plot. The way she handles her enemies and how protective he is. The enemies are naive and set up idiotic plans that backfire. Read this if you want to laugh.

I started reading this when the translation was around chapter 200.

I enjoyed the first couple of arcs especially, and followed the translation (superb in my opinion) every day. It was only until the 700s or 800s when I had realized I had spent nearly an entire year following the same arc recycled. To me, many of the other review are very exaggerated--there is still variety and a good general plot. But the idea of following this story until 2500 something chapters with the same predictability wasn't something I was looking... more>> forward to.

Some general weaknesses:

  • predictability - I've already addressed this above, but this is one, if not only reason, of my main reasons for dropping this. There is about four chapters in each arc addressing actual conflict, and most of it is face slapping (though quite satisfying in some cases)
    Spoiler

I reread the taming dragon chapters multiple times, and really enjoyed it!

    [collapse]
  • no character depth - I'm not one to care about how 3d a character is; usually, I'm looking for an easy read to just mindlessly scroll through. But the characters really bothered me with how the author seemed to use the same antagonists (her family in particular) as just some characters she needed to create conflicts in arcs
  • and some nitpicky details that are really just to my taste
    Spoiler

Consent in particular is a big issue in other reviews as well

    [collapse]
I actually want to rate this around a 3.5, but I rounded up because I generally liked reading it in the beginning. To be honest, this novel is a "gateway drug." It's wonderful for people looking to try out new novels, especially if they're new to Chinese novels, with the promise of tons of content (again, 2500 something chapters) and the general good vs evil cliches. It's a great mindless read and I actually really enjoyed reading it, but I found it boring after the first ten or so arcs. I would definitely recommend this for people looking to expand their horizons, but for those who enjoy complex plots and in-depth characters to steer away. <<less

So like the kid isn't ever cute, like at all. Sometimes he's a brat and sometimes he has middle school syndrome. He's a more cliché protagonist than the MC. The villains want to mu*der him, without even knowing he has it coming. They know his mom, so they're going to go ahead and mu*der this random toddler. Everyone else loves him more than anything in the world, even though he's only been rude to them. Like black or white. The only moderates are other toddlers who don't commit to wanting... more>> to mu*der him until he says his first rude sentence, for which he burns their house down. I kind of gave up on this story because the romantic arc is very bland and predictable, since the mother is essentially just there as plot armor for the little brat. The kid refuses his father, rudely, and his mom does this "oh nooo~it seems we've fallen into bed againnn~!" thing. <<less

First, I should say I am new to the genre. Folks who have an understanding of cultivation and such may have different feelings.

For me, the start of the story is very confusing and headache inducing. Perhaps it's the translation, I can't properly tell. Even in the very first chapter, we are introduced to an enormous amount of character names, most of them family members with very similar names. I can't keep them straight to the point that I didn't even remember the main characters name by the end. I don't... more>> know which one is her mom and which is the aunt, which is the maternal grandmother in law and which is the blood related grandmother. There are two clans, but I don't understand how theyret related. I'm honestly completely lost and confused.

I understand the basic concept of Ki/Qi, but not the intricate details of cultivation. When they speak generally about training to strengthen the body I understand. I understand about different points in the body, meridians, Qi circulation, and meditation.

But then they suddenly drop things like "yellow rank" which apparently even the maids have, and spiritual pills that have 9 levels? She can be stronger by making a spiritual pills, but her uncle wants one someone else made? Do you get stronger by making them or eating them or both? What is the significance of yellow rank? I just don't know.

The chapter starts off with rumors from anonymous people, but the wording is off and to the point that I don't even understand what happened. The MC was tricked by her... cousin? Who drugged her and tried to get her r*ped? But shessthe reincarnation of a martial arts to and she escaped, but then accosted a random dude off the street for s*x and got pregnant? It sort of seems like this happened but I had to do a lot of reading between the lines. It seems the story assumes I know a lot more than I do and it's confusing.

I like the main character's strength of personality, I think it could be a good story. But for whatever reason the wording is extremely vague and difficult to understand. I just can't follow it. Maybe it gets better later, either writing or translation, but I feel at that point I won't understand the backstory enough to appreciate it. <<less

I love this book because of the MC and the general trend of the romance.

Though a lot of aspects are typical of similar books, I feel that the MC is likable. She has female friends, not every woman in the book is jealous and vicious.

She does not keep a harem of men, at least not so far. I hate a lot of romance novels because even a casual passerby falls in love with the MC. Then, she keeps them around for errands and they serve her. Too unrealistic and annoying... more>> imho.

The male lead is also quite good. The right mixture of handsome, power, cruelty and a hint of cuteness.

All in all, the story is very enjoyable if you are in need of some romance and face slapping.

The translation is also on point. <<less

This novel is really pleasurable to read. It still has the typical plot for an ancient china novel, but what I like about this is that there's a cute little child.

Most novels like this usually just have a FLand she'll have to defend against pretty much everybody (Male lead "admirer" & other jelly people). But for this novel, there's a child that's willing to go against everybody else, even his own father, for his mother.

And I really like his character so far, too, because although he act very sly and... more>> cunning, he still has the characteristic of a little kid and doesn't act like one of those over mature kids.

Talking about characteristic, I also like the MC and ML personality because it's been a long time since I've read about MC being parents.

Usually, it's just scheming, then fighting, then more scheming so I really enjoy this little bit of cuteness the mother and son has. <<less

Actually really enjoy this novel. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely the same old shtick.. "Girl transmigrates into a young miss' body, is awesome at cultivation and pill making, etc etc... " However, that's actually only a very small part of it. This is KIND of spoilerish, but not really.. I'll still put it in spoiler quotes anyway just in case, but keep in mind I'm only talking about what happens like 3 to 5 chapters into the story, so it's not story breaking..

Spoiler

She escapes from the bad evil family shortly into the novel, and after, 5 years go by before she comes back, extremely strong, with great connections to extremely powerful and important people, etc etc. Pretty much, she's already really powerful

[collapse]

Besides that, what I really enjoy about this novel is that while it's the same old cliche of every women wanting to kill the female lead purely because they have the hots for her man, the face slapping and destroying of these people come pretty fast, within a few chapters. Of course, there are always one or two c*ckroach villains that always seem to survive, but it's still much more gratifying than other novels, seeing all these people that try to harm her and her family get smashed almost instantly.

Another good thing about the novel is it's humor. It really does a good job making all the good guy characters likable, which made me chuckle out loud a lot while I was reading. (This is rare for me, personally, so that says a lot).

I decided to give it 4 stars, but if I were grading it on it's translating/editing, it would have gotten 3. While it's definitely not torture to read like a lot of these other novels, the translator does often confuse present and past tense a lot, like in sentence... "So-and-So laughed and crossed her arms saying "I'd like to see them try." " The translator would write " So-and-So laughs and crossed her arms saying "I'd like to see them try." " It wouldn't be so bad if they just picked ONE tense, either present or past (although present has always sounded odd to me), but constantly mixing the two up leaves a bad taste in my mouth while reading. That plus randomly missing words in sentences causes me to give it a lower translation score.

All in all, if you want to satisfy your guilty pleasure of face slapping female leads, this one definitely does the trick. Just wish the chapters weren't so ridiculously short. One weird thing I noticed is sometimes the chapter names have nothing to do with the chapter titled so, but then the NEXT chapter contains it. Makes me wonder if the translator is just chopping up the chapters and naming it themselves, sometimes confusing when something happens in what chapter. <<less

This is a story that you can only hate or love. There is sadly no middle ground. Writing is simple and while some characters have been introduced, they feel one dimensional and shallow. Ill attribute this to the lack of chapters for now and hope the characters will grow in the future. Currently the story hasnt truly taken off so giving a set score is hard. With the amount of chapters I can only assume the pacing is just slow therefore I am gonna hold hope this story gets better.... more>> Give it a read and you might just like it. <<less

Sad that Bcat00 dropped due to low readership : (

This is not a long ir detailed review but more like my retrospective thoughts since its been dropped.

This was one of the only translations I had been keeping up with until bcat dropped it. People complain that it's cliche and repetitive, but IDC because that's literally what I was reading it for lol. It was my guilty pleasure to read this every night before bed to unwind (thanks bcat for daily uploads at the time). All these stories are the same... more>> it's about time you guys caught on.

Anyway, just one point I will mention. My favorite thing about this story is that the FL has a good family and the family members keep growing so we have a big happy family that supports each other. Also the kids are super adorbs. Stories with cute kids are always fun to read. <<less
