This story is just right for fluffs, and only fluffs. If you want a good story, plot or characters, look somewhere else.

It is written in a sort of lax way and although there maybe a subtle progress, the plot is practically nonexistent. It’s a very light story.

However, recently the writing has gotten worse, as in many cases, things happen that they did not hint or foreshadow to and they even mention scenes that only happen in the LN, leaving the reader confused. For instance, they mention being friends or meeting... more>> with characters that the WN has not even introduced before. I can deal with slow pacing, but mixing up the LN and WN?

Honestly, this story seems to be going in a downward spiral, but I just read for fluffs, so while it’s written badly, it’s still what I want to read, regrettably. <<less

Sure, it's a fluffy series, but I'll always think of it as "the isekai in which the other world inhabitants went through the trouble of cultivating and harvesting rice, but never actually thought to try boiling it." So yeah, there's a limit to how dumb background characters should realistically be.

After meeting the mermaids, I began skimming chapters and skipping chapters with a food title.

I don't mind reading OP characters. Because I want to see them kicking ass and show whose boss. But this isn't that kind of story of adventure or stakes. If there was a battle its boring and even the twins are OP.

MC's personality? HAH! He's one of mass produced beta Japanese man. Can't say no, very humble, and acts like a saint. The MC is literally handed everything: skills, beasts, and items throughout the story. And... more>> everybody is astonished and shock with everything he does and has.

Then the kids. One word to describe them is cute. They're there to provide fluff material. The interactions and relationships between them and MC felt hollow after getting used to them. They're obedient and like to eat MC's food. MC don't have to worry about anything else or need to put that much effort into raising them.

Even if its intended to be a slow burn, slice-of-life story, its definitely below average. After a while it just become mind-mumbling and things became repetitive. I'm kinda surprised this has a high rating.

If you're reading for the food, read "Restaurant to Another World" or "Isekai Izakaya "Nobu"".

If you want an orphan taking in by an adult with a semblance of a plot, read "If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord, " "My Daughter Grew Up to Rank S Adventurer, " or "I was a sword when I reincarnated." <<less

I really like this story, it's just so cute I mean the twins are adorable and the MC is also cute when dealing with the twins.

there's not a lot of action in it and consist of a lot of information but I like to have some information about how he makes it though.

the MC is a little too overpowered and so are the children but it makes for funny conversations and expressions of side characters.

When I think about it it's not really well written but the cuteness just makes it... more>> go away.

I would recommend this light novel for when you really just need to relax and have a couple of laughs or want to know how different Japanese foods are made and what else he can think of. <<less

Thanks for the translator

And also Big thanks for the novelist of course.

This one is super vanilla and it damaged my brain while reading it cuz there's so many frustrating parts about the MC being too much of a pure saint. The story's around 50%foodstuff, 30%about the kids and 20%fights. Just beware that reading this will give you some brain damage but if you have just that much free time and seeking for new experience then try this. The story's just too baby cheeks soft for me. This is good in its own way and an oujou-chan little girl that goes kya... more>> kya~ fufufu~ will probably rate this 5/5 but ill rate it 3.5/5. <<less

There's not really much conflict in this light novel. It's more slice of life than adventurer. A lot of the things that would be considered "conflict" gets solved within the chapter with little to no effort.

I do like the series a lot. I'm just disappointed in the lost opportunity of confronting the child s*ave trader or having some deity conflict instead everyone just doting on the child raising MC. It's a very fluffy adventure.

Suffers from the cooking disease many other world novels have so you just get these random lumps of chapters with just cooking or teaching others how to cook it cuz soooo good!!! And such

anyway this is a cute story so don't walk in looking for combat (MC is super op anyway so not like it would last long)

I'm going to rate this 3 because of the cooking bs or it would be 5 because I find it a relaxing read

(the kids don't really act like kids tho... more>> so it can be a bit odd) <<less

If you're looking for a detailed action scenes this is not it. The writing on the battle scenes in this story is like that of a child telling a story with sound effects. And of course the MC is a god's retainer (and caretaker of 2-too-behaved-for their age demi-children) so expect him to be OP way beyond common sense.

And what's with the gods???... "oh he's of a great service to me, I shall give him a familiar" -tadah- another god noticed and give him "gifts" as well. Making it oh... more>> so easy for him to live in a different world. Can it still be called slice of life without facing any difficulties? Life should be full of troubles yet he's living a boring yet seems-to-be busy life. <<less

So, you're tired of people complaining that somebody's life in another world is too easy, but it's not easy at all?

Welcome to Isekai Yururi Kikou! This guy definitely has his isekai life in easy mode. He has to take care of two children, each of which could be a cheat protagonist on his/her own (and are best children this side of harem loli imouto). Gods stumble over each other to shower him with gifts.

And there are no surprise twists to break this down. So if you're after a relaxing story,... more>> you're in the right place. <<less

Japanese food sugoi! Japanese food is supreme! Rice! White rice! Ignorant western fantasy world shall be enlightened by the superior Japanese cuisine.

At least half the story is about food, cooking, ingredients, etc. Feeding the kids, introducing new Japanese cooking/dishes/recipes to the world which apparently past transmigrators/reincarnators never did.

Everyone likes his food. Including tamed monsters, they all eat it and love it.

I just saw they started the manga adaptation of this :) I hope it's gonna be cute like the novel. I really like how the children wandering around.

The story until now is a nice slice of life of godly beings travel journal. Nothing can be too op to protect the children and the companion beasts.

The problem, only just a bit, is the cooking sessions, sometimes it's just too much.

Cuteness and fluffiness is all over this little twin siblings.

A good breather away from all intense violence, blood and war.

Well except this two in a tiny bit who can instantly KO any opponents.

A nurturing adventure pacing in delightful scene over the clouds and under the trees.

Story wise, it is fluffy and tiny smile inducing but the characters are flat and the kids are just not like 5 years old kids. They're just too good to be true and too predictable.

There are several novels with similar atmosphere like this one such as the one written by Miki Nazuna or Isekai Smartphone where you need to turn off more than half of your brain so you can just enjoy the atmosphere because it'll start questioning the plot hole or retorting because of MC is too OP.

It's just literally everything you'd expect in a Japanese slice of life novel with the words "other world" and "game." By no means am I saying the story is bad though. -The MC will be OP. Literally everything will be handed to him on a silver platter: strong af magic, basically inexhaustible money source, legendary pets, and to top it all off the gods are literally on his side in case anything would happen (not that anything would, come on) who even provides him with Japanese ingredients so we don't have to deal with any "fuuu I miss soy sauce gotta find some" nonsense.

-He will try to stay on the DL although that never works out, but he'll still stay humble and play the ignorant card as people gape at his accomplishments that are nothing in his eyes.

-There will be a lot of cooking and people salivating over the food, and him teaching them with no exchange because "it's literally nothing."

Spoiler

What I'm looking forward to is when the father of the twins appear and how Takumi, the twins, and the carefree and useless father will react.

[collapse]

STILL it's lighthearted and cute, and remember that it is a slice of life so know what you're getting into. There won't be any deeply developed plot or characters, intense action scenes, angst or drama. If you expect all of those and still read this, you're gonna have a bad time. (3.5/5)

Nooooooooooo I need morrrreeeee!!!!!!!

This is super cute. The first few chapters are a little blunt and there isn't much imagery but then eventually you get drawn into the fantasy and it makes you curious and excited for what happens next. Its really simple and cute too with very little annoying drama. Lots of adventuring and fun

Is a wonderful read. I do recommend it for most people. Updates are about weekly. The MC is a different type of personality from most transportation WN he is OP but a simple minded point of view. The children have almost a bro-con attitude and also OP. The author has a thing for food but the reactions of the characters to it is funny.

There is nothing new or amazing about this novel, but it's nice to read.

Think about many of those novels where OP protagonists get very young children s*aves, and remove the s*ave part. It reminds me strongly of death march because of the very light tone and adventures at their own pace, solving crisis without having to do much (because OP status).

As I said, it's not something new, but the translation is from Shinsori, which means a decently high quality and speed (seems to have caught up to the novel apparently).... more>> The only downside is that Shinsori tends to switch to other novels every now and then, so there is no promise that it will get finished by the same translator later. <<less

This story is pure (attempted) cuteness / zero conflict / zero danger / nothing that can't be solved through 2 conversations. If you know that, it's a good adventure story.

The system RPG fantasy powerset is completely regular, the fantasy settings are overdone, it's very character focused, mainly on Takumi and the twins he's raising. That being said, this story format actually kind of suffers in a written format, largely because the webnovel format means that there's not a lot of descriptive writing, so a lot of the story is just... more>> takumi going "omg the kids are so cute!!!" which is fine, but it ends up feeling kind of flat overall. Basically, it's hard to binge read.

That being said, there's an easy fix for this: go read the manga instead! the contents are literally identical down to most sentences (except some chunks are reordered whole-cloth), and you don't suffer from the webnovel hell of complex sentences being taboo.

Either way, this story will not make you think about anything. Honestly, it's a fascinatingly kind world & protagonist. Takumi finds children who were s*aves abandoned in the woods and basically goes "haha what a bad parent that must have been :) " like the setup is grimdark and then it never discusses any of that stuff ever again. <<less

I love this, I really do. It's relaxing and fun! There are a lot of cute familiars! Not much drama and more on friendship and family, yey!

Except...

Takumi's style of raising the kids only works because the theme of the story itself is not dark.

... more>> Takumi is such a pushover to the kids and familiars. Not saying no to almost everything they want, just letting himself be dragged along... I was just kinda ignoring it at first but come Chapter 388 and it's still the same... haaa...

It's also annoying that Takumi is not doing anything to increase his own strength. If this were a darker story, Takumi could never hope to protect them should there be a stronger enemy or monster. His excuse was that he could not leave the kids behind, and that's another thing. There are more people in their lives now. He could leave them with Rebecca and her family for a few days so he could grind in the dungeons or something. He's just making them more dependent on him.

Anyway, I still love the story and plan to continue reading it. <<less
