The red meteor shower rained across the sky, a black fog engulfed the world.

After waking from a night of torture and agony,

Humans discovered they no longer dominated the world.

—The hunters have become the hunted.

After the apocalypse, I struggled for survival for ten bitter years, but ultimately couldn’t escape death.

But when I opened my eyes again, I had transformed from an ordinary 35-year old woman into a beautiful young man of 18.

A different gender, a world that is both familiar yet not, an apocalypse that has vanished without a trace, and an unexpected return of 17 years of youth.

Looking around, I discovered I had a powerful, protective big brother and a gentle, charming little sister.

Just as things couldn’t possibly look any brighter—

The end of the world came crashing down again.

And this time around, is it fight? Or flight?

Dropped finally. This author is actually quite good for the most part, but without fail I start to get sick of her characters and plot halfway through. The translation is amazing and smooth as always, quite frankly the smoothest of any novel I’ve read online. As for this particular book, it was an exciting read, but the trio of siblings just grated on me. To the point of obnoxious. It’s like listening to the rich kids at your school discuss their holiday or something. The overprotective relationship. The elitism. Just... more>> everything grated on me. The fight scenes get boring after a while, you an frankly tell where the plot will go, boring plot twists start to appear. She always runs out of steam at the ends of her books, 1/2 prince being the absolute worst pile of dog sh*t I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading. The ending, that is. I don’t intend to stick around long enough to experience a worse one. <<less

I was looking for some apocalypse story with a not-so-common plot (I wanted the cliches, but something different at the same time), and this one right here hit the spot. I am surprised that I didn't hear about it before, it`s really fun, the battles are nice too and I read up to the last translated chapter so fast I didn't even notice (up to v6) haha Waiting to see more about MC's past life, really, I am intrigued as to how she underestimated herself. [I am reading "The End... more>> Of The World's Poisonous Mom And Monster Baby" too, it's a good one if you like novels like "Dominion's end"] <<less

I am in love with this and cannot wait. MC too OP? NAH he/she got the shittiest luck in the world and she knows it. The common troupes like sis-con and bro too strong are even done hilariously and not obnoxiously. The only regret I have is that it has not been fully translated and I am gonna die hanging on every single cliff.

The male character outside is a cute little wonder. The female inside is sodden tr*sh. She contributes for nothing other messing up her alter ego's (current body's) mind and potential. Always lost in the reminiscences of what she herself admits was a worthless life where she did nothing but disappointing herself. I'm not saying the past life story isn't worth telling. But in the context of our young and cute boy of a protagonist with a hot and reliable dage and a soft and adorable meme, the past is just... more>> dead weight. The author tries many times, but as far as I can tell, she is unable to meld both personalities into a single one. The current incarnation has much too life to it to really bother with the old one, so the past is just an irritating interlude that keeps popping up between all kinds of scenes and makes you just skim over to get back to the action.

So if you forget about the thousand and one times, the main character whines about the sleazy bodyfriend in the past life (who is admittedly one helluva dirtbag), everything else about the story is actually quite gripping and sweet. Considering it's a novel woven over a zombie apocalypse type of background, the fact that there is still so much warmth between characters really makes it worth a read.

Apart from the aforementioned, there's also another thing I like about the novel when it comes to the transmigration. The author actually tries to integrate the two characters into one, which is not something you easily see in this genre. Usually, the MC straighforwardly discards the current "body"s ego and thoughts, basically turning into a squatter in someone else's life. Even if they try to give back, it is only the outward actions of taking revenge or improving the family situation, etc. That we see. No transmigration MC actually genuinely tries to respond to the emotions of other's in the "body"s life that he or she has taken over. Same is not the case with Guan Wenjin.
Spoiler

She actually confronts her situation head on and even discusses it with others so that she can actually be Jiang Shiyu.

[collapse]

Although the author doesn't actually succeed in her attempts to integrate the two polar opposites' personalities (just going by the fact that the past self is a girl), the attempt is indeed worth noticing. This is one of the best parts of Yu Wo's novels. You get to experience the emotions of people in actually impossible situations.

Like, who hasn't read a cyborg novel before? But if you want to actually experience a cyborg's emotion's, you better read Yu Wo. Same is the case with the twelve knights in the Legend of Sun Knight as well. We've all read stories with twelve holy knights. But if you want the heartwarming version, you better read Yu Wo. Ha ha. She's not exactly all that brilliant in story telling, but her grasp on emotional synergy between characters in these fantasy, mystical and otherwise impossible to imagine scenarios makes you want to cheer for her even if she's bugging the hell out of you with overly lengthy and oftentimes misleading internal monologues of characters.

Although I don't have much hope for it, I'll keep watching this space for future chapters of Dominion's end. <<less

I usually don't like Apocalypse novels but I really like this one. I love the MC, she/he is totally relatable and the interactions with the MC's new body's family is really funny. The MC's new family are basically super models with OP powers and the MC knows it, it makes for some funny commentary (especially with the MC's brother). I also like how the MC's new body has a really attractive face, and having been average looking in her past life, the MC tries to take full advantage of it.... more>> I think the author is doing a great job with the plot, and I like the fact that although the MC knows the future some of it is changing compared to what happened in her previous life. <<less

This type of MC is definitely new and very bloodthirsty. Female to male? Haha brings a whole other meaning about ones sexuality preference. Very interesting and refreshing from the norm reincarnation MC's. Definitely a must read. Though Im kinda hoping for a little smut action between the dage and the erge.??

This one is good read, good story and development *well at least they have some explanation so the readers not confused*

Only one thing, I would really enjoy reading this if not for the *constant / periodical* yaoi vibe (I know its gender bender BUT... C'mon!! give MC some female romance target)

xD

But still this one is good read.

When they tagged it with identity crisis I never thought they meant that the characters will have questionable identity and relationships while the readers will be feeling the crisis...

The fact that it looks like there would be a ship between the dage and his past timeline's younger brother's soul in the present younger brother's previous body is just..... NO😣🙅 The MC even offered to marry his previous body just so he can take care of his previous body and the body's mom... Do you even realise how ridiculous that sounds?? I understand it's an apocalypse and that morals are low but for all the bro-sis-conness can you not step into questionable, in*estuous territories?!!😱

One of the biggest letdowns... EVER!!

The first two volumes were really amazing, but now the MC's just becoming hypocritical and irrational. I tried my best to hold on hoping for some chance of it reverting back to its former glory, but that ship (refer spoiler) became the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back... I might skim through it once it is complete to get the general idea but till then SAYONARA!👋 <<less

Dominion's End is my current favorite series Prince Revolution is translating, though I also much enjoy No Hero. It's a very addicting series and it's always very painful when I realize I've reached the end of the chapter & need to wait another month (but it's always worth it). I am always recommending Yu Wo in general as a go to author to people**--the way she merges genre, tropes, & general expectations is quite skillful.

This series blends zombie apocalypse, super powers, reincarnator, and comedy with lovable, though flawed characters.

**I also... more>> recommend anything by Chestnut when it comes to romance. There are many other series that are excellent, but these two in particular have many works almost guaranteed to be good, so it's always an easy suggestions to recommend friends looking for reads. Additionally, if you are a fan of Yu Wo, but have not already read it, I highly recommend reading Gong Hua translated by Giraffe Corps. <<less

This is the first time I read Apocalypse novel genre. Usually I will stay as far as I could from this kind of genre. But... every single one of Yu Wo's work is just so godly that I can't stop myself to read this one.

Let me tell you something... This Novel is mind-blowing, when I read it, I will smile, laugh, scared for the MC, even tear a little.

Try to read this one! Usually I never leave any review, but... This work of Yu Wo's... Just so Godly that I... more>> want everyone to read this. I'm going to look for another Apocalypse book now. <<less

I think this is one of the most interesting novel for those who seek apocalyptic world with superpower, funny MC, and one of the novel where time travel appropriately. It's novel for those who want not interesting beginning but interesting end (If we have chance to see death of MC in the end, I'm looking forward)

Literally the best, I dont know for other people but I literally cried because I caught up with the translated chapters. I love it so much that I want to learn chinese. With every character I already fell in love, but as of now not all the characters can be said to be complex, the author is slowly working on it. The translation is top notch, all I can say is chefs kiss. I say you wont regret giving this novel a chance, I certainly did not. I just genuinely... more>> love it soo much, I wish I read it earlier if I had known it would bring me this much joy and happiness, but also at the same time I wish I should've read it maybe a year or two later cuz waiting for new chapters is agonizing and painful for my heart, it feels like im in a long distance relationship desperately waiting for the day to meet again. The premise of the story is very good, the focus on family during an apocalypse is a first for me. Their familial love is heartwarming. Theres also enough action and drama to supplement. Sometimes however, it feels like the older brother is the main character because how everyone views him compared to the MC.

But the novel goes wayyyy downhill during v4.

Spoiler

I understand the trope of hiding your abilities but its handled soo poorly by the author in this case that it ruins the story. The MCs reason for acting weak is to serve as a trump card. I get that point but the MC is literally top 10 in all of humanity so why does he even need to. Even then lets just say that sure he "needs" to hide his abilities and act like a frail pretty boy. My problem is that people just see him as unreliable at crucial moments which is not conducive at all. The dialogue is soo cringey when people describe him, if he was a girl it would be blatant s*xual harassment. Especially the mafia, they treat him like some weak chicken and disrespect him constantly. Theres literally no point in him being in the story at this point, he serves no purpose. No wait, his purpose is just be protected like fragile glass. Also, the reason for him acting weak and being a hidden card never even comes to fruition, there was literally never a time where the tables were turned because he was acting weak, the reason itself isnt relevant to the plotline because it never comes to use. While his brother gets shot in the head, he just stays back because he needs to act weak. At that point I realized that this novel became 2 stars. MC is a joke both in dialogues and in plot.

His personality is also getting worse and worse, like he often has an identity crisis, gets scared for no reason, acts contradictory, etc. The plot doesnt flow well. I honestly started skimming through after v4 just so I can catch up and not read this again and forget about it. He gets no character growth at all and its soo annoying.

It's a great story worth reading. Unlike other apocalypse stories I've read, it doesn't focused on simply on fighting zombies or growing stronger to survive. It has surprisingly in-depth development in both the plot and the characters, and I also saw realistic developments, especially on the MC's side.

We see how the MC struggles on finding her own identity because of the sudden 'rebirth' as a different person (with a different gender). And her character is very realistic. Because of her past experiences in the apocalypse, she can be selfish and... more>> really petty. She wasn't overpowered, and at times, she often had the thoughts of escaping and running away. However, she has a deep longing for familial love and there are also times that she can be helplessly selfless (to which she calls a 'mother theresa complex').

The plot is very interesting. The first volume focused in the Jiang Family and thebeginning of the apocalypse. The second to third volume became deeper and more mysteries were uncovered far beyond the circle of the Jiang Family, but may involve the continent.

I also like how unique is the premise of the story. It isn't purely action and drama. The MC's thoughts are actually pretty hilarious. The sudden plot developments and twists are very unexpected (at least, for me it is) and it doesn't follow cliche reincarnation and apocalypse stories.

Really a great read!! ✩✩✩✩✩ <<less

It’s a roller coaster. Very eventful, reading the low star reviews I noticed that people just needed to wait a little for things to pick up. There’s fluffy bits, there’s fantasy bits, there’s dystopian bits, walking dead bits. A good, unrealistic zombie series.

It seems less horrific than full metal alchemist, but I think it has the same mood.

As expected of one of Yu Wo's works.

The pacing is excellent, and the plot as well as the characters can't be compared to other post-apocalyptic novels. Dominion's End isn't only a story to satisfy one's craving for gore and blood, but also one's funny bone. I can't help but praise the author for her amazing writing, as well as the translators' smooth translations.

To sum up this novel;
1. The MC used to be a woman who survived in the post-apocalyptic world for 10 years but died and awoken... more>> inside a body of a beautiful teenage boy 10 years in the past, pre-apocalypse.
2. The MC uses her/his knowledge of her/his past-future to improve the chances of her/his survival, as well as her/his family's survival.
3. The MC struggles with her/his sexuality - especially since she/he is attracted to her/his brother's body, and her/his sister as a person.
4. The MC's inner monologue is to die for.
5. Time-travel is way too complicated when you mix it with zombies (or in this case, aberrant)
******6. This is a MUST read for Apocalyptic-world novel readers. Can't call yourself a zombie reader fan if you don't know this! No joke! ******

The only downside is that the gap between translations is quite... large. But, oh well. Translators have their own lives to live too, right? <<less

I love this story. Sometimes it's so random that I have no idea where the plot is going to go next but you've gotta stay for the action, the humor and the fluff (and boy is it fluffy). If I were you I'd hold off on the shipping for awhile cuz it doesn't seem that important. Somehow the girls in this novel aren't irritating (and sometimes that all that I can ask for) and in fact I actually like them. And the brother acts like a d**k for awhile but... more>> it gets better (you'll know what I mean when you get there. I'm only mentioning it because it was really irritating for a while).

Quick warning while the translator does a stellar job the updates are really slow. This isn't a criticism just a fact and something you should know before reading. But it's a great read. Completely worth it. <<less

An office lady that lived in post-apocalypse world for 10 years ended up in the body of a handsome man in a parallel world days before apocalypse happened. It is an interesting premise and good balance of action and humor. I'm not big on zombies/apocalypse but I like action/reincarnation/transmigration and this is a well written story.

Unlike some novel, it didn't just use reincarnation/transmigration as a starting point and completely ignores it after 3 chapters. While it does reference future events, the original/before MC was an ordinary women that only hides... more>> so she had limited knowledge and the plot doesn't become overly reliant on it or tries to follow it exactly (since she's in a different body/situation/location). Because you are looking through MC's point of view, the information is limited and there's no giant paragraphs of explanation of the world/leveling that makes your eyes glaze over.

The character interactions also feels realistic. The MC actually tells his brother/sister that he might be a different soul, and the brother/sister were reasonable/intelligent about it. The MC is not a super genius at age of only 15 (ok, maybe the original owner of the MC's body would've been if he didn't die, lol) or some wimpy/hapless/pe*verted bloke. The MC is awesome, within reason, and when he does make mistakes people scold him, help him explain and forgive him. They sit down to talk, they doubt and trust, and they help out each other, just like a real family. There's no generic/over the top misunderstandings/hating/loving incidents that drags on forever.

That's all I can tell so far. I look forward to reading more and hope it won't degenerate into generic brainless OP-action only stuff in the later volumes. <<less

Dominion's End is a great novel, blending comedy, drama, and easy to understand fights all into one. The main character, at least in my eyes, is reasonable and above all a likable one. If you're looking for a comedic and exciting piece I highly recommend you to read this. The only problem I have with the novel would be the slow updates. That aside, the novel is, in my opinion, amazing. I hope that the novel will continue to improve as it goes on.
