At last a new type of an otome game reincarnation novel. Unlike other novels the MC here is the heroine of the game and the story starts at the bad ending of the game. The plot is already outside the game and the story is unique. However, it has two flaws.

1- Self monologue. Almost all of this novel is the MC self monologue and lacks conversation. There's so little dialog going around and even when there is one it is not satisfactory because no one will really answer the MC... more>> questions or give her a decent response.

2- Only 1st person POV. Even those who hate multiple POVs will find this novel lacking in this regard.

Nevertheless it is a good novel and it has a spin-off novel with another MC at the same time line. <<less

Update: Apparently MC has more depths to her than I thought.

She better not fall for or get dragged around by royalties/nobles though, otherwise what was the fking point.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... more>> I like it so far. I like the MC. MC seems normal. She knows what she wants. She's independent and got herself a place to work and a new home to live by herself, like what she had always wanted.
She rejects any love and friendzoned them. I just hope she keeps being in control of her life instead of ending up being captured by whoever.
Nothing interesting happened yet so far. As of now, story is kinda meh, MC just settling in to new life. To be fair, it's still early to tell what direction it'll head to.
I'm interested in the plot, especially what the Queen/King have to say about it. It reminds me slightly of "Breaking Off the Engagement... Just as Intended" except this MC actually managed to escape successfully, or at least for now. <<less
A bunch of useless pretty boys desperately try to stop the protagonist from her life long plan to defy the social constraints of her world to live in relative freedom and peace. Refusing to even consider that she would choose a life outside of their expectations that all women want is a man to take care of them. There's hints that her plans are less steady than her thoughts imply but that in no way excuses the behaviour of every single male character towards her.
I really love it! I've read a few reincarnation/ transmigration stories but this ones unique. First of the MC is pretty smart, she knows what she wants and tries to achieve that goal and she isn't a dumb and goofy MC. What else is unique about this series is that, rather than being a villinouse lady trying to find ways to survive a destruction end like in many reincarnation Otome game stories she is instead the main character and is trying to get out of being in a reverse harem... more>> which she isn't exactly succeeding in. Moreover, since she has knowledge of the Otome game she understands when someone is trying to get close to her and love her ending in her finding ways to turn them down and even though she has some moments where she oblivious to love she is still pretty smart. Lastly, it is a pretty good lighthearted read with some comedic undertones without being to silly or s*upid and it gives you a break from all the more serious reincarnation stories out there so I say you should definitely give it a try. If you read to chapter 10 you will know for certain whether this novel is for you or not. <<less
Lets see you have an incredibly talented protagonist, who is also a great asset to their country, but their goal is to not use their abilities, avoid their country and live a life without intimacy.
It's a bit of a tough sell. Forget about the Aristotelian ideal of a fulfilling life being one of using your abilities to their greatest extent, this is one of just trying to turtle up and ignore the world.
So you have a horrible premise, a character that's like chalk on a blackboard, writing that's odd, what... more>> do you have ? A one or two star novel <<less
By far, this is the only isekai-themed story that I hold to my heart. The MC is not some dumb naive character, with their only flaw existing to make them look favorable. This MC has her own reason as to why she holds certain talent (holding composure perfectly, observing, etc). Even her "royalty" talents are deemed to be mediocre. Just because she regains her memory as an adult female in her previous life won't magically make her super skilled. So it really is a breath of a fresh air.
This story... more>> is not perfect though, and I do agree with some people that say this story lacks perspectives. It's too monotone. Especially with how some parts in the events are a bit too forced. I don't find this to be a big problem because the manga succeeds in giving the missing things.
Even the 'antagonist' that traps the MC into her commoner situation, isn't deem as a horrible, evil person that needs saving (by the story, not the characters). It would be nice if the story would revolve more into the objective path they're going to. Can't say more about the depths in personalities and such though, as the story is still on going. But I think this will come later, I think the author tries to make us as oblivious as the MC (there are still some things that are purposely unclear) and the answer will come later.
But again, it would've been better if the author would give us more infos on the side characters, even this Nana character just feels bland to me. The author focused too much on the self monologue and wether God exists in the video game rather than the characters itself. As interesting as how the whole economy and political view works there, it would be nice if it's balanced by the personalities and dialogues.
Overall this story seems promising, though. If only it gets more recognition it deserves, then maybe it'll give what it was meant to give lol. I also see that this receives three 1 star rating on amazon jp? What's up with that? It seems that one of the people didn't like the fact that the MC is too stubborn to take an interest at the capture targets lol.
If this gets the recognition or even an anime one day, that'll be awesome. That'll be something I'll genuinely look forward to. <<less
The way the story is progressing, the characters meeting with each other seem very forceful. MC's character from childhood was only breezed through, which I think is a mistake here. Since the introduction was lacking, it felt that the character introductions were forceful. I'm not a fan of the way the story is written. The plot introduction looked promising, but the execution is lacking.
Gave it a try but I'm turned off with how the story goes. This novel revolves around self monologues of the heroine without any conversation with other characters much. I don't like how she's trying so hard to be normal, it ruins her image of independence and passionate woman who will do anything for her dreams to come true. Doesn't match at all.
A good simple novel where the MC wants to have a simple life baking and being away from politics and the nobles. Of course it doesn't stay that way, but one can only hope she gets what she wants at the end.
Not much has happened yet with the plot, all she has done is reject those nobles coming to see her and convince them she isn't upset with her engagement being broken off. Hopefully we will see the reactions of the other characters in the story.
Personally I hope that she... more>> doesn't get captured by any of the nobles and just enjoys her simple life ^-^ <<less
I like the premise of the novel, and the initial character development is quite good. The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 5, though, is that I couldn't really pin down any of the character's personalities as the novel progressed. The MC treats all the various men who stand in front of her house day after day as annoyances mentally, but keeps willingly bringing them into her home and clinging to them when they try to leave. It's very clear why she'd consider them annoying, and her backstory seems... more>> all geared up for hating pompous nobles like all the men seem to be, but despite feeling completely exhausted every time she finishes an interaction with them she just keeps clinging to their arms, or begging to call them nicknames, or asking them to come again. Similarly, she keeps acting contradictorily regarding her stance on being a commoner - whenever someone asks if she's OK with being a commoner, she looks away and sighs that life is suffering, but then she starts complaining whenever the person she's talking to tries to help her fix the situation? Why is she confused that people don't steer clear from her, when she's actively inviting them and playing a damsel in distress?
I'm also really confused what the plot of the original game was supposed to be. Lady Rose (the MC) was supposed to be the heroine, yet she was engaged to the prince from a young age. Was the game about her cheating on her fiance with other men, and if so why did the MC love playing the game so much (like, literally replaying the same route dozens of times kind of devotion) /why would the MC be considered a saintess? Alternatively, the "villainess" in the novel seems to be extremely similar to what you'd expect of a heroine - the MC claims early on to have worked behind the scenes to reverse the game's logic, but I don't really see how you can manipulate someone into cheating multiple men away from their fiances if they were originally the villainess, devoted-to-a-single-person kind of personality. These gaps become really confusing as the story progresses, because the MC keeps flipping between treating herself as a villainess and treating herself as the heroine both mentally and in her interactions with people.
Ultimately, I couldn't really pin down the character's personalities or the plot. The male leads are even worse - the MC will suddenly start getting scared that an ML is going to kill her without justification, moving this sham of a plot along, or an ML will randomly invite the MC to start a war after talking about the weather and about how he's super thankful his country just avoided a war and that his country couldn't afford a war. Most of the MC's also just creep in front of her house until she comes home from work, like they have nothing better to do - and the MC then wonders why the neighbors rumor she's playing around with men when she keeps bringing different men into her room. I like the author's creativity, but I think their writing isn't keeping up with their imagination at the moment. <<less
The story itself is not that interesting and is very cliche of this genre. If anything, I thought the reincarnator's past life was much more interesting (which has some disturbing implications) and the author should have written out that saga instead.
Utterly painful.
About an otome game transmigration. But instead of the villainess our MC is the heroine.
She tries to live a commoner life so she wants the original villainess lilly chan to get the prince and goes along with her plot to falsely accuse her of whatever rumors..
... more>> The premise is good, but I felt utterly bored reading. It's just that the capture targets are very boring and don't really have any depth. They just appear and you can't figure out their personalities at all. Eventually I just quit.
Sorry I don't really know why it's boring, but it just is. <<less
Seems ok
Isekai reincarnator reincarnates this time as the heroine, though with the twist that she has more of a villain's backstory and 'ending', as the (villainous) interloper in her engagement to the prince gets her thrown out of noble society. Mix of otome-game-villain-reincarnation and I-want-to-break-my-engagement subgenres. Typing that out, I am reminded how weirdly specific these webnovels get in their subgenres: it's very close to the dynamics of fanfics, where someone posts a fic with an original (-ish) idea and then suddenly there's millions of them, all trying to be... more>> variants on the same theme.
As of chapter 17, the story has mostly been about the MC meeting with various people from the original otome game (mostly the capture targets), and how they react to her 'exile', while she tries to keep them at arms length so that she doesn't get s**ked back into her previous position as queen-to-be. Meanwhile, the scheming queen-wannabe who replaced her seems to be feeling remorse... In a way, everything seems to be pointing towards some kind of intriguing resolution, but it might turn out to be boring. <<less
