There is no apocalypse tag but it's like those apoc novels. Monsters appear but the society is still more or less in order (similar to Evolution Theory of the Hunter but the setting is better) as everyone had 10 years mana training besides the MC who only trained his body. He is a loner but do not mistake it for that overrated Reincarnator which only has 1 character. Here we already know 4 characters and they're quite interesting. Most likely it's a story where a loser goes popular due to... more>> his new found opness. The only thing which can ruin the story are bad interactions and too much opness, let's hope that doesn't happen. <<less

I tried to read it, but it's too dull, I really couldn't get interested in the story.

I saw many reviews saying this was meant to be a parody, but let me make it clear for future readers, there is no comedy in the story. No funny interactions, no funny moments. At most a few snark comments.

This novel is bland, so bland I can't even point out what's missing.

The characters don't have any personality, the world is poorly explored, the MC isn't interesting and the angels are just annoying and not... more>> funny.

This novel only has such a high rating because it's old, at that time there wasn't much to compare with it, that's why it got so overrated.

Take this as an example:
Everyone goes to another world for 10 years to train except the MC. When they come back, it's like nothing has changed, everyone goes back to their normal lives. The MC wakes up with his parents eating breakfast talking about monsters and abilities naturally, as if they had never been separated (His parents haven't met for 10 years, they were in different places in the other world)

There's no suspense, emotion, or anything like that, it's like they're npcs in a game, no mind at all.

Then they go to another world again, this time only for 1 or 2 months, and when they come back, this time the MC wakes up to his dad finishing his breakfast and leaving for work. And that's all, a little conversation with the parents as if everything was as it should be, and nothing more.

It's like the world hasn't changed...

It's like I said, it's so bland that I can't even pinpoint what's missing, it's all wrong from the start. And don't even mention the other points that the rest of the people here have already mentioned.

All of those who gave it a low rating are correct, this is an overrated old novel. There's nothing interesting here. <<less

Well... It's interesting.
Spoiler

A Great Cataclysm turn to God's war. But the story is too broad. It's not bad but everything is too fast to progress for me. MC is too OP but with reason. MC need to kill God so Author gave him every possibility to advance. I even thought that MC will become part of Akashic Record.

Though MC is too strong, everyone around him are keeping up with him, not left behind. The mother was cool. To think MC's mother is the first strongest human in earth lol.

All I can say was. The details of the story is boring. I skipped most of it when I felt that it was not worth reading anymore. I didn't say it was not worth to read the whole story, just some details are unnecessary for me.

Bland.

For everything this novel tries to do, it lacks depth. It feels like the author dips his toes in this and that, never committing to anything, repeating the same pattern over and over. The worldbuilding in this novel is nonexistent. No, I mean it literally. Everything only exists and revolves around the MC. The world and its details are added as the story progresses, with the sole purpose of being used by the protagonist and as a backdrop for his journey. Which would've been fine if his journey led somewhere,... more>> but it doesn't. So, the MC is reactive, and since the world around him is fake and can't influence him naturally, the progression is clearly artificial. The author pulls out crises like candies to make the protagonist move, and it shows.

This novel has a lot of promise, but it doesn't deliver. Well, as of 140 chapters in, it didn't. This is my experience with it. It might be different for you, how can I know? It's not like there aren't any good things about this novel either. The atmosphere. It has an atmosphere of lighthearted positivity. Coupled with the author's and translator's notes that bring some life to the script, it has the power of making you not want to part with it.

As a reading addict, I'm unsatisfied. As a loner, it doesn't fill my heart. That is all. <<less

if u are looking for a novel without many downs and negative parts, its one of the best I can recommend, the story is a bit generic in the mid, but when we consider the whole novel, it was a good experience reading it.

It is very easy to lose interest in the flow of the story, I have on and off quit this repeatedly and tried to reread the first 20chapters for over 4times in a span of 2-3yrs and it's comparable to chewing on some mega dry and slightly salted jerky. It's like reading a report at this point that's trying to meet word count and my eyes are just flying through the lines. For it to be so popular, it has literally nothing about it that's attracting me as the reader... more>> at all. Not even bad enough for you to keep going to be able to laugh at how bad it is, no it's just like bland water.

It's all in all just borderline "alright". An introvert protagonist who wants to be noticed but never really tried to socialize, is glad that he's never really the center of focus but still curses out his ability to go unnoticed. People that are drawn to him for inexplicable reasons or lack thereof other than his tenacity to learn and improve, to keep himself occupied so he doesn't lose in the meaning of existing. Comedy bits aren't bad but lacking; blandness is still overwhelming. I held no expectations for what he'll do, nor was I excited in what he can achieve... honestly if he died midway I couldn't give less of a damn. <<less

Just like many others here who thinks the same, the author doesn't have brain for plots and the story gets pretty bland all in all its a random, overhyped (overhyped and spread mostly by peanut brains children with aids who encountered novels for the First time or just those that have really really seriously bad taste for novels), sh*t of a read.

The author has a seriously bad case where his imagination is on par with a child (lack of creativity) despite the lonely fact that he is an adult already.... more>> Despite for an early teen like me, I can personally tell that I have the capability to pinpoint all its negative traits as a novel just like farting seriously its just easy (though it can't be said the same for those who have just encountered novels for the first time or those that have really really seriously bad taste in novels). But of course the only reason I've read this far cuz it has its good traits as well, and it's nevertheless yes the casualness of it and light heartedness (comedy) and oh sure it has its serious moments as well and its typically here where I throw up at all the load of bullsh*t it's why I made this 1 star review in the first place basically that's all it it's amount to so bland it can actually not be called a story it really got it all wrong the randomness, skills description that can give aids, plotholes, unimaginative skills and skills description... (Oh did I repeat that sorry)... All in all I'm just reading it as it is, just like how you turn to your side chick when you've breakup (ed) with your main well yeah that's actually accurate I've finished reading a good gem on this great forest of webnovels and well let's admit it finding another hidden gem or just a gem in this great jungle is just as hard as the author in this gets a brain for making novels that gets appreciated for its storyline and plot not the comedy well that's really all I can tell, have a good read everybody! Summary;
Earth is about to undergo the Great Cataclysm due to the experience of the Earth is full, Earth will be levelling up to the next level which is a higher system of energy called Mana will be opened on Earth. And the Akashic Record will come into contact with earth, where humans will receive rights to see some of its records or usually called Status.

The fact that mana will be opened to Earth means that the
Animals that evolved from Mana, will become Monsters which will be confront by humanity..
animals adapt faster to mana than humans so if the humans are left as they are, there will be a danger of extinction after the Great Cataclysm, occur.
Futhermore, when Earth Mana reach a certain point New Monsters that doesnt exist on earth will also appear

(In conclusion, Earth will become like a Fantasy World like Rpg with monsters, level ups, skills, status & other similiar game like features)

The God who perceived that there is a need for the humans of Earth to adapt to mana in a safer environment to prepare themself before the great catalysm had sent all humanity to other worlds (more or less like they were all Isekaied or Transmigrated to other fantasy worlds) where humans already have adapted to mana.

The entire humanity was given the privilege to experience Tutorial mode in other worlds in order to prepare for the great catalysm.

All humanity except One that is...

The MC who is a loner has always being left out throughout his life, and suddenly oneday was left out by the rest of humanity itself!

While waiting for the rest of humanity to return,

The MC, who was left alone on Earth try his best to also prepare himself with whatever he can do on Earth before the great catalysm come.

He travels all around the world & learn everything he can, be it martial arts or other knowledges that might help him to at least survive when the great catalysm happen.

And in the end it turns out that when everyone returns and the great catalysm happen, the MC who was left out & has a late start to adapt to the new world, end up being the only hope of humanity!

After finish reading this novel;

I really enjoy the plot till the end ?

And I feel that this novel has its own rarity and is not like the other typical novels

The story is quite Realistic somehow & Logic sometimes.

Besides the blacksmithing part, The story does not drag & is quite fastpace

The MC is quite smart & a vey cautious & meticulous person

He's not your typical MC or should I say He tried to not be

He always plan ahead of everything carefully and always prepare for the worst outcome while never let his guard down in any situation

Even after working relentlessly on Earth to prepare for the great catalysm by himself.
He was still inferior to everyone due to being left out & got a late start compare to the rest of humanity in adapting to new world mana environment

But in the end due to his hardwork to not give up in any situation and meticulous thinking he was able to overcome a lot of dangerous situations & keep on moving foward and become the strongest by not luck but through his own effort and end up being the only hope of humanity.

Do read the story until extra 1 because I believe thats the true ending after the epilogue

Ooh one more thing theres some twist for the main heroine which should had been KMR but later the story favour L more due to votes from the readers.

And a bit spoiler* after extra 1 which is about his marriage with L there is a harem ending at the following extra after extra 1, which the MC will also end up with;

Spoiler

Wife that MC have children with ;

• Angel & Goddess of Love, L, (Main)

• Holy Maiden & Goddess of Beauty, NYN,

• The Empress & Goddess of Magic, KMR,

• Angel, E,

• Elf Assasin, P,

• Wolf Princess & Moon Goddess, E,

• Succubus Queen, H.

[collapse]

Ooh one more thing just to remind u that the God in this novel is not omnipotent

There are some parts of the story that I also cannot agree but I believe that it is better to not overthinking much and should just enjoy the plot of this story till the end

And one of the weakness from this novel that I found is that its Romance (which I prefer more when reading novels) is a bit weak and could have been better.

But due to the unique MC & interesting story plot which is different from other novels, I end up finishing it till the end and I say that I really enjoy it, so u gais should also to give it a try.??

The tone of the story was pretty fun and the story didn't care too much about explaining how the angels got all these absurdly niche references and so on. That let it sit back and just tell a silly pseuedo-isekai story full of nerdy foreign pop references without making you think about it too hard. The supporting cast was also generally pretty entertaining, though once you got to the third stringers like Michael Smithson or Pate they had pretty much no personality at all beyond a single quirk. Michael is... more>> envious, Pate is gay, that's all there is to them. The crafting stuff was interesting for awhile but eventually I just stopped caring. But it just. Kept. Going!

However, the story really does fall apart in the last quarter. I think a part of the problem was that the author was too receptive to audience criticism. For example, going back on the 'this time it won't be a harem, I swear!' statement or
Spoiler

changing the main heroine from Kang MiRae to Liera when the latter was more popular and then giving a lot of MiRae's screentime to YuNa when she was, again, more popular. Or Spiera losing a lot of popularity thanks to her "betrayal" and then getting offed for it when she had specifically argued against it in the first place.

[collapse]
It's not that I was a huge fan of these characters, nor did I mind all of the sudden inexplicable changes, but this kind of flexibility really felt like it undermined the story and like a disservice to the characters, especially the latter. It's good to recognize when you've messed up on selling a character to the audience, but just throwing them away when they need to serve a purpose causes problems in the long term.

The big faction war that comes at the end feels really weird. The story spent so much time keeping the Garden of Sunset and the Army of Brilliant Light mysterious that I had no clue what the hell they even wanted and no investment in their defeat, continuation or anything. What we got for motives from them was pretty underwhelming as well. And I don't know if it was planned from the beginning
Spoiler

but treating Heaven's Army as though it was just as bad as the other three factions really rubbed me the wrong way since by all appearances even later in the story they really were doing the best they could even after abandoning Earth. This eventually turns out to be justified, of course, but very Yu IlHan clearly didn't know that at the time. And even then it's really only Michael and Raphael that are dickheads while everyone else is a good person who gets mu*dered for not bowing and scraping towards IlHan.

[collapse]

But I guess by the end of the story Yu IlHan is basically a villain protagonist going on a cosmic temper tantrum with his dragon cult so maybe I shouldn't expect him to have the moral high ground. Good thing that due to pure chance he happened to end up accidentally doing something helpful for the universe.
Spoiler

At least until he genocided most of existence that didn't worship him by fusing it to Dareu or just frigging nuking it outright. Isn't that what the story condemned the God of Heaven for? But I guess he's slightly less of a tyrant.

[collapse]
The story jokes about him being evil and villainous or has him say modestly that he's not a hero and all I can say is 'Yeah, we know he's evil and of course he's no hero, he mu*dered a friend that trusted him deeply last week' or whatever.

I also didn't really appreciate how characters' personalities seemed to get rewritten to make them more palatable. Kang MiRae later on is pretty much unrecognizable from her first appearance while Na YuNa seemed to have had the edges shaved off to make to her look like what she was only pretending to be. She wasn't a shallow ditz, she was an intelligent but secretive woman who didn't trust people or open up to anyone and hid it by acting goofy and vain.

What's disappointing is that over time they often seem to morph into the same few character types, such as everyone becoming a tsukkomi to IlHan no matter what they were like originally or Heliena turning into Liera 2.0. Most characters end up fitting into one of three archetypes, namely the tsukkomi who calls IlHan crazy all the time like Erta, the deredere fawning over him like Liera and then the grumpy guy who just complains a lot, such as Orochi. I don't know why this happens since they start off distinct, but then they just kind of change over time. Many villains don't even seem to have that much, leaving them quite uninteresting. They don't usually get good sendoffs either. <<less

It would be wrong to state that this novel is perfect. By no means is this the best possible story to be written. Nonetheless, this story is still an extremely good read. It flows very well, and I love the author's style of writing. I first read it translated, and then later read it in raw form. I can safely say that KobatoChan did do a good job translating the story overall.

For those who are scanning through, and are looking for something interesting, then I would safely state that this... more>> is an interesting read. Took me roughly 26.5 hours for first read (over three days) so not on the short side. Characters are well described and you can ignore the harem tag for 90% of the story. <<less

the beginning of the story good, but the story become suck as time goes.

-its good that the story have comedy. But if u add to much comedy, it feel so boring.

-the MC feel like robot that always do what the angel told.

... more>> -the MC feel like BATMAN, always depending on tool/weapon/armor. Almost bring new tool every chapter, too quick change weapon/armor.

-almost 1/3 off this Novel is about blacksmithing, making tools or upgrading tool (sometimes I think it's not Novel but a book about "how to make something" hahaha)

-the novel story like running in the circle, there's no progress in this Novel (I read till c55). Kill moster, making weapon, got reward, n chat with angel, there's no surprise element, no moving scene or no heroic tale. Just FLAT STORY.

-I don't know why, but when I read this Novel, the World in this Novel feel so lonely. The MC just chat n has relationship with 3 characters, 2 Angel n 1 girl (empress), n the Author FAIL make moving n heroic scenes in this Novel (example, when MC help LA's people from fire lizard)

-there's many ABSURD moment n logic. Example, in c55. When MC has transaction with Empress, MC just got 7 billion won from selling magic mantel that has same options as mantel hero of another wold wear??? WOW!!! Try imagine it, hero help world from the crisis (like demon lord/king, dragon, ect) n think the items hero from legend uses, Im sure those items are almost worth half of kindom territory or at least worth 1/4. N the most ABSURD thing is the Angel doesn't correct the MC. WOW <<less

A really fun binge read, I liked the character building aspect of the story, with a leveling system and skills that are consistent and relevant, and an MC who doesn’t follow the cliches in most other novels. The side stories provide the heart warmth that most readers want, and there’s actual character development apart from the usual single character. I’d definitely recommend it.

Well I stuck with the novel as it continued to get boring.

The novel starts out great. Interesting plot, interesting characters. But it slowly turns to sh*t as the MC gains power up after power up until it's predictable and just not fun anymore. I just started skimming from chapter 280+ but should have dropped it way sooner.

I'm giving this a 2. I couldn't give it a 3 because the novel gets boring later on and the ending s**ked. I had to force myself to finish the last 100-150 chapters, just add this novel to my completed list. The last 100-150 chapters were just boring; there is no tension or exciting moments because the MC is way OP'ed. He could do anything like power up his companions to superfast levels later in the novel.

The premise was good, but as some people said, I thought it would have... more>> been better if the author went in a different direction. The side characters were unique at first, but they become stale later on. There were just there to praise the MC's numerous abilities--creating weapons, food, teleportation, etc. There are so many things he could do so it just got boring.

There are some good moments in the novel such as the battles, and leveling up the abilities he learns during his journey--it does get bland later on from my previous comment. There aren't many fillers; this is another good thing about this novel.

The MC is supposed to be a loner, but he is always with someone or a group. This is not the type of novel where the MC is alone and fighting with people. Luckily, the novel is only 350 chapters long so it shouldn't be too hard to finish. <<less

Hey KKS here,

Gonna give this a 5 star review, not because I was the editor (Ok, consider me biased), but rather because this novel is the one that started me on the hype train for korean novels.

Its unique and original in almost every aspect apart from the leveling system (but even that was altered somewhat by the author), compared to its korean novel compatriots. The whole story starts off slow, it takes what? 50 chapters before it starts to gain momentum? But I found the otherwise typical OP transformation... more>> process of the protagonist to be enjoyable and frankly, even better than the latter half of the story due to the way in which the author penned the scenes and inserted fragments of comedy, romance (ok, maybe not so much at the start, given that Yu Ilhan is a blockhead) and granted our protagonist interesting skills that were difficult to anticipate.

Towards the middle of the story, Ilhan still has a somewhat lackluster source of motivation for the amount of effort he puts in and that, accompanied by obvious plot armor, begins to turn it into somewhat of a bore.... until the author turns sh*t upside down and throws in plot twists and events that make the reader concerned for the future of our favorite angel

One of the best web fantasies I've ever read, shoutout to the author and TL team for giving me the opportunity.

The hilarious interactions with an easily foreshadowed plot made for a truly interesting read. The characters and side characters developed pretty well, and man, gotta really give it to the author for those final side chapters.

Couldn't capture my interest after 37 chapters.

Plot: 0 - Nonsense. Couldn't imagine today's world with monsters roaming and the MC had to go through Korea/Japan/USA/LA/Seoul on planes to fight monsters to level up. So far, it was all about fight 1, MC leveled up, fight 2, MC leveled up, fight 3, MC leveled up. Nothing made sense. No real interaction, complex plots involving others. Boring summed it up.

Challenge/MC: - 0 - MC had 1000 years head start compared to everyone. Nothing posed a threat.

... more>> Romance: 0 - Nothing so far.

Drama: 0 - No romance. No losses. No challenge.

Comedy: 0 - None
