The novel is a decent read with it's own pros and cons. I enjoy the novel and the interactions between characters a lot. The author set up an interesting world and gives the protagonist some cool power ups. A majority of the chapters are enjoyable and I recommend reading the first couple arcs rather than just a couple chapters and the story might even grow on you.

I really enjoy this novel, the main character starts off a little annoying but as he grows up and matures he gets more likeable. It has some cliche bad guys and tired tropes but overall one of the better cultivation novels with some great supporting characters with some different ideas that more than make up for the cliche's.

Generic Xianxia with more unlikable characters than usual.

  • Want to clarify: "Thousands of years later, young Nie Tian managed to travel back into ancient times with the help of a drop of blood... " Yeah, this doesn't happen. Was expecting time travel to a crazy golden age, nope.
  • This author likes using a formula of introducing a third party to a current ongoing conflict. Theoretically, it should stir things up and produce new, interesting narrative threads. What actually happens is disappointing plot resolutions. Yesterday's mu*dering, raping, thieving bad guys are now today's sudden awkward friends (or randomly killed off), as the new mu*dering, raping, thieving bad guys are even worse.
  • Boring side characters. There was some hope of something non-generic when one of the excessively beautiful female side characters seemed like she might have a relationship with another male side character, but unfortunately she seems to fall into the event horizon of the MC's d*ck for no apparent reason.
  • Translation's good.

This Story follows the common style of the MC initially being seen as tr*sh but growing to something amazing.

Although this common idea is used it does not detract from the fact that the MC is an interesting character and the story is well written and engaging.

It is well worth a read.

Even though beginning felt kind of slow, after MC getting powerup, story started to speed up and I started to wait for every chapter to be translated. But still biggest mystery is MC background. If you have couple of days of free time and you are searching for something to read, then I REALLY advise to try this novel. You will spend your time with pleaseure.

This is a great novel to start out with. And also a great novel for the people who are already addicted to wuxia novels... ???

The MC is cute at start... And it starts like most of the other wuxias but, from the lowest point in the MC's life...

Great translation by beerblade.

But the plot doesn't seem logical or interesting. And there's something very wrong with the author's sense of justice.

P.S. I understand the MC shines when everybody else is losers. The next step is the MC is a born loser himself but somehow he becomes the Emperor of the Universe. Now we talk business! This may take 2000+ iterative chapters, yeah. But really, what good MC may learn if every one of his friends and keen are simply the smallest frogs in the deepest well? They simply are... more>> not qualified. THEY ARE NOT PREPARED! Forever. <<less

This is my second review so I ask for your pardon in case it is too shallow,

As we are 500 chapters in the novel it is pretty safe to say we already know how they novel goes and its ups and downs so lets get to it.

pros:

  • it is a action novel, for those intereste in the genre.
  • a hot blooded mc
  • the power scale is quite interesting and there is no mi power is 5000 thousand against your 4500 which means I obviously win, and the MC also goes through untold hardships and is never invincible without actually being useless
  • you can see character growth on both parts the main and secondary characters which is not normal in chinese novel where the person stays the same for 2000 chapters. And this can be seen as in the start the main character was a hot blooded young man who fights with no regard whatsoever to the consequences of his actions hurting his family after learning what can happen he beggins to ponder before doing anything and he can be seen as a person who cares for his family but even though he becomes a cold blooded killer later his core character never leaves as he shows how his environment affects him but he still shows affection for his beloved ones.
cons

  • as for romance the pace was very slow, until ch 350 to 400 + or - where a couple of love interest become more proactive when seekin attention from the protagonist but we still have not gotten any declaration or an actual relationship, while on one hand I like that it is not one step and he f*cks and thats it, both of these characters are constantly appearing thoughout the process it is frustrating that they never get to the next stage

So far, it's been great reading LOAR.

The characters feel real, the MC is special yet not overly op, he cannot use all elements or mastering alchemy, artifact forging etc additionally to martial power, that makes it feel real. Once, he got overconfident but suffered the consequences, that also helps building a real character.

The story is also kinda unpredictable, few hints are given to the reader, we can only guess and yet it is still very xianxia-like with trials and power-up.

Great reading so far, the English translation is excellent. To me,... more>> every chapter means a good time and allows me to relax from my busy days. <<less

I've read all Ni Cang Tian's other novels such as Great Demon King, Spirit Realm and God of Slaughter, and have been acclimatized with his writing style already, not that his works so ground breaking and amazing, but at least the're quite satisfiying, enjoyable, and entertaining read. But I can't say for this one, which is supposedly his latest work. The world building is still as interesting as his other novels, you really should give it to him, but I really can't say that to characters building, but at least... more>> plot development is acceptable enough.
    • Fisrt of all, the MC which is supposedly an eleven years old teenager is really pe*verted for his age considering what he've done to his enemy (Yu Tong) and sworn sister, I know how many times the autor keep reminding me that the MC is more mature and have more stature body than his age, but I think the word mature in here is abou mentality, not hormones. Not likes his other novels' MCs have a straight mind (GDK and GoS), but they're in appropriate mental age.
    • I completely agreed with Cardman001 and Vallan. Mandrake that MC's personality doesnt have an edge. He is not so resourceful or analytical in thinking, He is not so shameless and arrogant in attitude, and He is not so steady in his opinions, all about him -except his OP power- is bland, average or any other words you can throw with the mening of ordinary.
    • His relationship with other women cant be more accurate with what Andeetected said in his comments, he is simply a pushover, while the women attitudes is unlikeable
    • The side characters is not given quite some personality either, just some pretty generic characterization with some alteration here and there.
Then for enjoyment of wordflow in reading he is doing a bad work here, the words that have been said by the characters is written again in the narration which is defenitely to fill the word count

some things that should be easy to understand implisively is written in unneeded long deatails, which is defenitely to fill the word count

many characters, especially MC keep reapeting the last sentence of what their counterpart is saying when the're suprised and shocked that make them looked s*upid to me

which is defenitely to fill the word count

If not for good world building and steady plot development I might really drop it.

But if you can endure or even ignore it the negatives, is pretty readable and enjoyable I guess. <<less

This is currently one of the novels I like the most. MC has mysterious background and an innate ability that evolves along with his increase in strength. He's very young but because of the hard life more matured than other his age. Like all other MC's he has few lucky encounters, the first one in the first chapters. As arc progresses, we also see that MC become even more matured and experienced.

The world setup is also interesting, with multiple realms and intelligent races.

So far it's not harem but possibly heroine... more>> has shown up.

MC encounters setbacks, flees, runs for his life, gets stronger and the revenge doesn't come fast.. Cultivation is also interesting with different type of skills that involve 5 elements, blood, stars, poison, space, soul and some innate abilities that non human races have.

I recommend this novel. <<less

Good enough. Try and read it its actually kinda fun. Also the side characters are actually useful, especially the female leads. The two of them show up and help the MC repeatedly throughout the story.

Lord of All Realms

I started this novel a long time ago, in fact at that time itw as called the King of Myriad Domains and it was not on on Wuxiaworld. After the initial translator stopped, it was with great joy that I found it on this site, knowing the quality on their translations, but after some time I found others novels more to my taste and my workload increase meant I had much less time to dedicate to wuxia novels in general. I only came back occassionaly, and it... more>> was only recently that I decided to seriously work on my backload of novels. So how was my overall impression of Lord of All Realms ?

The characters are of average to good quality, in fact a number the best ones exist in shades of gray, but sadly the protagonist himself, Nie Tian, is a overall below average. His two love interests are in fact better made and their interactions bring a lot of the comedy in the story. Sadly the romance part is underdevelopped.

The setting is pretty well written and has its share of plot relevant surprises. The problem is that while the plot itself is fine, the way it is implemented is not optimal. The first half of the story is good and the last 200 chapter are too, but the part of the tales between them feel stale and slow moving (not in a good way). The ending is satisfying but has a few loose ends that leave an impression of incompleteness. But the biggest letdown is the filler, with useless repetition that just get on your nerves after a while.

The power system is okay and plot relevant, as there are in fact two of them, one qi based used by human, and the other bloodline based used by non-human and the protagonist can use both.

The translation is of amazing quality, Alcohol Sword Immortal really deserves the praise Deathblade gave when he introduces him.

So, after finally finishing it, I can say that Lord of All Realms is an above average tale with a fine setting, but underwhelming protagonist and a good story handicaped by fillers, and while the last part redeems a bit the second half of the story, there is something missing to make it truly satisfactory. My final verdict is a low 6 out of 10. Kergonan out.

P.S : Thanks to Ni Can Tian for writing this novel and to alcoholic Sword Immortal for translating it. <<less

slow progress, slow upgrade, hard upgrade, MC is expert in watching and no nothing, so many filler, dragging story, problem keep coming to find MC, no time to make progress in upgrade, failed upgrade, enemy too op, MC still fight like a kid after passed several bloodbath. They story really dragging by filler. The concept of only using earth and heaven treasure to cultivate to be able to progress is really hateful since only few number of treasure born in that universe. Also rip duan shishu, li ye and his... more>> parent he got forgotten in plot hole some where same with an sisters. The later the chapter the less fun many importan characters died s*upidity. And mark my word MC is godly in stand and watching his ppl get kill while doing nothing or dazing. GOS still way better than this but this still better than pmg and the like those that kill your braincell this just kill your time and make you feel it not worth to read it all. <<less

It's an interesting read and doesn't fit into standard cliches seen in many Wuxia novels. The hero is rather "human". The MC is not omnipotent with their intelligence. But rather, naive to the point of s*upidity in some cases. Frankly at times in the novel the MC pisses me and many others judging by the commentary. While the trope of yesterdays enemies is now today's friend is used, it's typically done in a way that makes little sense. However, that makes it somewhat refreshing as the story is not so... more>> full of stereotypical tropes that you can predict what will happen within the next dozen chapters. Not the best or worst plotline of what I've been reading. But at least the pacing is good and the story isn't too predictable <<less

I haven't found the storyline particularly unique, the storyline is followable, translator has done a job. MC lack human traits or maybe it should be described as character development. That being said he doesn't stick out like a nail that needs hammering either, with excessive arrogance. He jumps ranks to fight, and the fights are enjoyable.

A very interesting novel with numerous twists and turns. There are many points where you think the story will go in a premeditated direction but something new pops up and it takes our MC to faraway lands. One small complaint I have is that most early characters are just forgotten. All in all I think its quite interesting and refreshing novel.

This is a splendid xianxia novel. It includes cultivation, aliens, space travel, and plenty of secrets waiting to be revealed as the novel progresses. The world building of the novel is consistent and appears more intricate as the story unfolds. It doesn't break new ground, but delivers a straightforward story with everything building slowly to what promises to be an epic ending someday. I look forward to the release every day. It's really grown on me.

Another thing in its favour is the translator. Releases are steady and reliable, currently nine... more>> chapters a week. The translator's command of english is first rate, and the translations never suffer from the typos and poor grammar that many other more popular series are prone to display. He also includes information an various aspects of Chinese mythology, history and holidays from time to time which are appreciated by most of the readers.

LOAR may not be to everyone's taste, but I'm a faithful reader and truly enjoy it. Give it a try, you may like it too. <<less

The translation is great, and the story moves along at a comfortable pace. The cultivation system is a little over-complicated, but training chapters usually still hold interest. The MC usually thinks things through, but he also seems to act his age for the most part. 600 chapters in, and I'm thoroughly enjoying LOAR.
