I like the MC, she is so badass! Striving for the profit and not s*upid! Rather slowpaced for some, but I like the pace although I'm a little disappointed of the lack of actual magic...

Read up to chapter 45 and yet to see anything relating to becoming good at magic. Honestly, all these cn novels that require to read like 100 to 200 chapters before it gets anywhere is honestly annoying, especially when those chapter are the most boring part of the book. Fortunately this novel does not make the early chapter boring by mildly entertaining you with some light comedy.

A pretty funny and interesting story about a person who gets thrown into a game world that seems to be many years later since the game. The MC is an assassin and a complete jerk, but in a funny and sometimes cruel way. In that way it is pretty unique.

The MC's goal is to return back to her world, while at same time maintaining her safety. So she power levels while making friends with the most powerful beasts. And also abusing those who come to research the World Tree she... more>> stays at. Her goal being to extract information that may be linked to her, while at same time make some cash on the side.

There is very little talk about becoming good at magic just an fyi, at least for the chapter 86 there is none, so it might be something later in the story. (Edit: The story as of the 90s seems to now show signs of why it is labeled "become good at magic")

To address some of the criticism posted:

    1. The criticism that infant animal knows how to speak language. The animal is first of all a divine beast. Second of all, it is a contracted beast. Understanding of language is pretty common with contracted beasts, otherwise the contracted beast wouldn't understand you! And people should really read more than 4 chapters before claiming something has no plot.
    1. There is nothing s*upid about the MCs actions, her lack of confidence comes from not being s*upid enough to risk her life. Because you know, you may not able to load a saved game anymore! People really underestimate the risk to life in these kind of scenarios.
    1. She knows fairly well she acts like a tyrant. So what?

I didn't get very far, tbh.

This is definitely one of those 'author style' issues. The author thinks lots of things are cool that really aren't, and it influences the already bland storytelling. I can't help but think this author couldn't have anything good to say, and though I'd love to invest in being wrong about that, the story seriously made me want to sleep.

The MC is a total jerk.

The MC is op, but s*upid & quick to blame. This is 'humor' here as well. Yet another 'conveniently game-like' world. Infant... more>> animal comprehends language fine, signals appropriately, and is arguably smarter than the MC immediately.

If there was a plot- I couldn't tell, but even overlooking the molasses slow pace, it held no interest for me. <<less

MC is a child. I mean literally a child. So the "The Strategy to Become Good at Magic" doesn't ever happen. Prepare to be disappointed when you read this since nothing ever happens in the story and there is no real plot. The concept might seem interesting from the summary but the execution is lacking.

Chapter - 27

I really like this MC, because she is thinking 3-5 steps ahead and I prefer these type of MC's. She is also not like those ally of justice people, who doesn't think consequences at the spot

Its hilarious.

The plot barely exists, but the comedy is great.

Unlike japanese OP characters, this one is different because its a real japanese loli girl protagonist (gender bender =/= female protagonist, because they never act like one, in that no, most of them are in fact going to tend toward males, instead of being stereotypical fat otaku pe*verts).

... more>> Sure, most of the comedy comes from MC's common sense =/= world's common sense, but that's infinitely better than pe*vert, harem, and r*pe jokes (found in most japanese transmigration series with OP characters).

And yes, I know this is chinese, but I have no context to compare it to other chinese op real female MC transmigration series focused on comedy.

Oh and yes, the MC is greedy, but not as bad as Weed (LMS), so there is that, and unlike LMS, it is actually funny here. In general, she is a good nature person. But since, she already has everything, no need to read copious amounts of padding chapters filled with nothing but snore fest training/skill up chapters. <<less

whats with all these LN stories where 100 chapters into it the MC is still a 4 year old brat? (Well, death mage just turned 5 but its close enough).

that being said, at least this MC is interesting and abrasive. She's as distrusting of people as Ark and almost as money grubbing as Weed, with a blunt way of speaking that makes a person think more of a middle aged man rather than a girl.

shes logical, cold, and doesn't care what anyone else thinks. She also has the ability to... more>> rub people the wrong way just by opening her mouth and can cause chaos and destruction just by walking through a town. Of course, she has the bad-ass skills to get herself out of most of the messes she gets herself into.

i don't understand the title though. So far the story doesn't have anything to do with magic, or wanting to learn magic. The only magic I can remember seeing in the 80 plus chapters is the little fireball she controls to start her fire in the beginning. <<less

Ever wanted to see a completely shameless, money grubbing lead who will sell you the Brooklyn Bridge with an innocent smile on her face?

That's this novel. That's this entire novel, and it's hilarious. The protagonist repeatedly sells her services and products to everyone, good or bad, man or beast, women, the elderly and children. And they cry tears of joy (pain) as they open up their wallets to pay for it.

Fist off, the TL quality is amazing, but the release schedules is really slow. One part because this is the TL's side project and another part because they aren't getting paid to do it. So TL'er has real life sh*t to do like having a job or taking care of themselves. Given that this novel has really long chapters compared to nost it's lucky for 2 releases a month.

The MC has a few qualities: incredibly skillful. She knows all the skills of her videogame character but is low leveled. So... more>> she has prowess but not strength.

A common trope in these transmigrated-to-a-videogame stories is that those in her surroundings are strong but not skilled. And that theme is present through the whole novel.

she is a child. This comes up as an important part of the plot. From her inner turmoil of all the inconveniences it causes, to the comedy of people wanting to treat her as a precious child only to be struck by the contrast of her personality.

She's also oblivious to some things that are made especially obvious to the reader almost to the point it hurts.

She's a predatory merchant. To the level of being a sadist. "Oh, you need this to live? Well, how much is your life worth, hmm?" is the basis of all her dealings.

Lastly, she's evil. Like she feels bad when she does good deeds, so she has to make it up to herself by taking liberties with her beneficiaries. Mostly to comedic effect

The plot moves slow. At ch103 she's still not learning magic. Otoh she can make magic potions and magic tools from the getgo, so technically she's already good at magic <<less

The protagonist is calculating, cynical, ruthless, shameless, and abusive, and talks and thinks like an old man. But she's a little girl, so it's okay!

^ If that sounds good to you, you'll like it. If you're not sure how you feel, the first chapter should give you a good enough idea of what to expect. All that changes (1/4 of the way through at least!) is increasing the number of victims to this vicious loli.

What, the title? It's misleading, of course. A better title would be "The Strategy To Shamelessly... more>> Manipulate Others". <<less

This is a slapstick comedy/action/adventure/fantasy/gaming-world series starring Sue Lin as a child, who looks like a human but is not. Even this far into the story, nothing has been said about her appearance other than she's a little girl. I have no idea what her eye color, hair color, hair length, or even skin color are, which makes it hard to visualize her. There isn't much description for anyone else either, and little is known about her original world.

Spoiler

She's an elf, so is she a dark elf or light elf? She definitely acts like a dark elf.

[collapse]

She has a snarky, distrusting, cold, and abrasive personality, making her initially disliked by everyone who isn't a demon. She is OP. She usually says something mean whenever she opens her mouth except when she's talking to the few friends she has. She's smarter than everyone there in a lot of ways, but she also does some less logical or reasonable things. She is technically a child, but this makes her level of intelligence inconsistent.

The side characters spend most of their time fearing Sue or being irritated by her, which can become incredibly redundant. There also aren't as many cool fighting scenes as I would like. There are no training montages. The series mostly consists of Sue antagonizing people, which can still be entertaining since she's OP.

The title is so different from the series, I can only suspect it may be a translation error. <<less

Up to chap 29.

Girl MC "reincarnates" into a VRMMO as a loli/kid version of their character, retains some stuff but doesn't have enough levels to use everything, wilderness "survival" (if you can call it that...) ensues as a comedically OP MC feeds magical beasts in a magical forest and doesn't actually seem to want to move away even when they are perfectly able to do it.

Yeah, that kind. Sue is (comedically) ruthless, (comedically) OP, and lots of other unpleasant adjectives you could use for a Chinese / bottom of... more>> the rung reincarnation Gary Stu character, except with (comedically) in front.

And it works!

Closest thing this resembles: shoujo Gifting, with less characters and more power levels.

Genre-savviness, translation notes with Chinese puns and some LOLs ensue.

EDIT:

Around chap 58

Gave up following, things got repetitive and she's still stuck in the forest with no actual progress in much anything. <<less

I really like this novel. The MC is cool, pretty kick-ass and can be a headache for some character (with how their logic get thrown out by the MC). The story too have some unpredictable thing, and the best thing... it is happy ending...

But, I still wonder why the title is "The Strategy to Become Good at Magic" when in the story the MC didn't even learn/use magic.

First review :) Anywho I like this girl and her ways about dealing the problem she faces as it is similar to ark MC deals with problems. It is very promising so far as I have read up to ch 19. So you should taste a bit of this book.
P.S. If you don't like the book take a gander at chapter 19 as how she refers to the animals temperament: ?

Recommended: Yes.

Black-Hearted Pragmatic Loli comedy. Decide if that sounds good to you.

Otherwise.... the title is something of a misnomer, at least for the first arc. The protagonist doesn't learn magic for quite some time. In fact, she's pretty strong from almost the beginning. However, this isn't really a series with a lot of action. Don't go in for hot blooded shounen fighting, go in for a loli scamming people and making out like a bandit.
