This is such a sweet novel with no angst. The ML has got to be the best boyfriend ever, he has been so good to the MC from the very beginning. The MC is such a cutie. Love it when he likes to hide things of the ML. Love how to grow and change for the better for each other. Totally recommended.

Tags: a healing novel, chicken soup for the soul, warm love, quiet comfort, highschool romance, sweet nothings

An awkward introverted boy with a mental illness was gently guided to open back up to the world by an unruly guy who surprisingly fell in love with him. (Sounds kinda plain and boring, but I promise you, it's so much more!)

The last ten chapters have a surprising amount of love/mention of pa pa pa.

Really sweet and cute story, without unnecessary drama. I loved both MC and ML; their characters were well-rounded and interesting. ML was so considerate of MC, and he truly cared for him. Because ML has a social disorder and MC is so cunning and caring at the same time, their relationship was interesting and pleasant to read about. Because there wasn't any drama or angst, I really enjoyed reading it. Sometimes reading stories like this really warms my soul. It is a simple story about the relationship between two protagonists... more>> and healing. It is full of love and care. Also, I loved its name; it is closely connected to the plot and development of the MC and ML relationship. It is a really suitable name. <<less

I barely made myself finish it... it just got boring same sweet pattern from around 60ch. I was trying to put my finger on what exactly bothered me the whole time I was reading this novel. How to say... their life is so perfectly methodical it feels unreal... ofc it’s a novel not real life, but it didn’t make me feel sweet, instead it felt weird.

Amount of studying they had was insane, honestly I would have gone crazy in such school and it is really true love since Feng... more>> Fei even managed to pull himself to study with his sweetheart. For real, I felt like I studied with them and more than I used to during my school/BA/MA 😂😭 Maybe you can use it as study motivation novel?

Spoiler

However, as other reviewers wrote, ML decisions on some stuff is questionable (like medicine). Also I personally was weirded out that he needed to make up crazy girlfriend so his mother won’t think that MC is worst choice, but best. (maybe just me).

[collapse]

Honestly speaking it’s a good school life, slice of life, sweet fluffy love, if you need to rest from horror and angst, pick this one up. Just don’t overthink and don’t expect drama. <<less

First, I wanted to click 4.5 but I cannot figure out how to edit my stars.

As per many here, the failure to reach 5 is due to the medication issue. I do want to state that I have been a medical transcriptionist for 6 years and, as a result, according to many, have the knowledge of a first-year medical student, at least when it comes to research. While I do know well the dangers pertaining to quitting drugs cold turkey, especially without the patient's knowledge, I think it is important... more>> to remember

first that we have no idea what the dosage was or how long he'd been taking them. Both are important to withdrawal symptoms. Secondly, the withdrawal symptoms for sertraline/Zoloft (ON AVERAGE) are fairly tame and easy to spot if, say, the person watching was sitting next to you for 2/3 of the day. Third, propanolol is primarily a cardiac drug. If you don't have cardiac issues and it is being prescribed for anxiety, it's for the physical effects such as increased heart rate and tremors. more problematic, so I agree with you all there.

The pluses - lots of fluffy, fluffy goodness.

A well-thought-out plan toward coming out, an overall good response by family, friends, and their homeroom teacher to said coming out. The final gift

made me weepy to the point of having to walk away for fear of scrolling up, reading it again, and things getting ugly. I felt really able to physically see the story and as I gobbled this up like a starving person, I would love to see it come to life on the screen but only if it can be made in Taiwan or someplace where it would not be censored. <<less

I decided to read this one 'cause I loved FOG from the same author but... it wasn't a good novel in my opinion.

If you want to read a fluffy sugar coated story then this one is for you. I decided to drop this one'cause is so uneventful... like I'm only at ch. 30 and they re already together and nothing really happened to this point. I prefer some more drama and action. I hoped it was more like "Fake Dating the Amnesiac School Prince" which too was kinda soft and... more>> mostly slices of life but the story was good enough to really love it.

Anyway my biggest iusse with this story, and the reason why I'm ranting it as 3 stars and nothing more is the way the author handled MC's mental illness. I ll skip over the ML who decided to change MC's medicines, which was already bad enough, but also how the MC wasn't really affected in the slightest by his social anxiety. His mental iusses are so bad that he has to take medicines but after like 10 ch. he looks already fine. Well, he honestly didn't look so affected even in the beginning so that wasn't a big surprise.

Sorry for my grammatical errors, Im not fluent in English. <<less

I'm glad to read this book and give it a chance despite the reviewers gave low stars. I know social anxiety disorders is a very big deal and maybe for some readers, the way the handle it is not nice, and I respect their thoughts on this book. But other than that, it is 10 out of 10! You really should have give this a try.

This novel is great.

The story of two classmates, this story reveals the romance between two guys, one handsome, outgoing and popular but with a bad boy image and temper, and the intensely introverted (at first) guy who everyone says is mentally and emotionally unwell, who was bullied at another school.

Their very first interaction is hilarious. Actually, this novel has a lot of humor that makes it worth reading. Their homeroom teacher, to socialize the shou, has him hand out test papers, but he knows no one's names, so when it... more>> is revealed that the gong got the wrong paper, he becomes a one-man committee to get the shou to open up to him. And he succeeds!

However, it shows that they are attracted to each other from their first meeting. As their friendship grows, they are so perfect for each other. The only thing I didn't like is how the gong replaces the shou's medicine. You should never tamper with medicine, even if it is for the best!

They get each other through their last years of high school. The gong goes from being one of the worst students, to a better, brighter student, guided by the tutoring of the shou. And it's fun watching them come out to their families. That was my favorite part.

I adore this. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I have rarely seen a relatively perfect bl relationship, but this comes close. If it weren't for the medicine switch, I would rate this perfect.

Read it if you love a good romance that has few hardships and a healthy, balanced outcome. You'll love this. <<less

This is literally what a healthy relationship looks like (except for the pill changing everything else is perfect) . It is almost as if this novel itself is a guide for couples who are looking for steps and ways to integrate love and life sustaining and cultivating a really healthy relationship, and this book also show how both parties need to have a great tacit of understanding and a great amount of communication to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings that can affect and leave a shadow on their relationship. This is... more>> not to say that this novel fully represents a great and perfect relationship, for me it just show the possibilities and glimpses of the future that two people who really loves each other can have when following decisions the characters did in the novel, like understanding each other struggles and clarifying clearing problems before they take root in the relationship. I say these because let us be honest some pairs who really and truly love each sometimes don’t have a happy ending and didn’t end up with each other. <<less

Cuteness overload!!!

Such a liar of gentleman! No, I mean, what an unbelievable caring black-belly ML. Such a cute little hamster I have found in it! No, what I mean is an obedient and diligent MC.

Too much sweet that I, as the self-proclaimed Queen of Sweet (when?), cannot bear it.

This story is very very heart-warming. The MC is very well portrayed as a person suffering from social anxiety. The ML is such a good guy, a nice guy that he is the perfect definition of a gentleman! Overall, a very warm, soft story that you can cuddle down in your comfy bed with a mug of hot chocolate!

Gosh I haven't read a novel that I truly wished never ended in a long time until this. It's such a nice slice of life with youthful love.

Besides the whole switching medicine (which is most likely an understandable deal breaker for some), I loved the MC, the ML and how this story flowed.

This was just my cup of tea arriving at the perfect time. I really wish they'd had explicit s*x lol but I was still happy nonetheless.

Sweet school romance danmei that brings me back to my own school days. Author (and translator) did a good job of capturing those teenage feelings and emotions, bringing forth a wave of nostalgia for old me (apparently also for author according to her afterword). Passing each other little notes in class, copying friend's homework, helping each other study, discovering first love, dating for first time... you get all this in any sweet school romance novel but this author somehow made it fresh and sweeter. Like author herself says, this is... more>> a healing story.

About the hate thrown at ML for the meds switch, I can only say that although he was wrong in doing so, it does not erase the fact that anti-anxiety drugs are very dangerous and does more harm than good. They might help temporarily but it is never advisable to use them longterm. While ML's methods are wrong, his intent and knowledge are not. Neither is author wrong when she states within the story that those drugs are indeed very harmful. But I do agree that ML should have told MC first, then work together on slow withdrawal. <<less
