Just finished catching up to the raw. It's good, I really enjoyed it! Here are some no-spoiler reasons why:

  1. The MC's skillset is quite unique. Raid/Nicole was the wire-using Assassin character in the hero party. He kind of stood out from the rest, and has a complex about it. It makes him kind of stand out among the billion isekai MCs who all use the same mix of swords and magic. A lot more stealth and espionage. He's overpowered, but at the same time there are a lot of enemies he can't take head-on. He admits he specializes in killing people, and isn't very good at killing monsters.
  2. Related to this, the fact that he/she keeps his reincarnated identity a secret gives an interesting bit of drama. Rather than the normal run around showing off how cheat he is, we get a lot more drama focusing on him running around behind the scenes, trying to take care of stuff with limited resources while simultaneously keeping his identity a secret.
  3. Without spoiling anything, when they finally reveal the big villain, I found him very interesting. There's a lot of potential for things to get very crazy in the context of this story.
  4. The author uses the same world as his other stories (like Hakai Me no Yuuri), and even namedrops some of the characters from them. Neat if you've read them before.
I'm looking forward to reading more of it. Hopefully it gets a reliable translator so everyone else can enjoy it too.

The outline of the story is okay compared to most, but the way the MC is written is utter garbage. I cannot stand this MCs attitude at all especially towards the parents. The attitude this MC has is completely inexcusable towards his former companions regardless of the way he viewed them in the past. I can only describe it as unreadable. I gave it a 1-star simply because the rating will not go any lower.

I had to edit this review after seeing Morakai33's review. First, I love the Gender... more>> Bender category, and if you look at my reading list which is public, you will see many of these stories on it. My main issue with this particular story is how the author has written the MC's attitude towards her new parents. Peeping at the former female companions and getting caught once, the "punishment" from that action was apparently enough to form a phobia that transcends actual death and follows him into his new life where now she will not even eat correctly as a baby?

The rivalry in the past life he had with the man who is his new father is not being written as just rivalry, it has gone into the realm of hatred. I am sorry, but rivalry does not equal actual physical hatred which is what this new little girl is showing her father in this story.

This is what I have an issue with for this particular novel. That is why I said I feel absolutely no connection to the MC at all and only feel sympathy to the parents and why I said that for me, this story is unreadable. It isn't just a "prideful" character, and I have no clue how you can talk about Wolverine in a setting like this.

The only way to even think about adding Wolverine to this conversation would be if he died and became Cyclops and Jean's daughter and went from loving Jean to nope... I won't drink your milk and by the way, I absolutely hate dad even though neither he nor you had anything to do with me being reborn as your daughter! <<less

This was one of those Web Novels that reads like a bad soap opera. The premise is interesting, the MC gets reincarnated as his friends daughter. It's been done before but there's always room for twists. This one goes as a same world isekai with cheat abilities. So a thumbs up for a really interesting start. Why only 3 stars then? Well it's no fault of the translators, Re:Library is doing a really good job and if you read the raws you'll see that clearly. The author however was shooting for a particular goals that wind up being really annoying. He truly likes to put you in a position of feeling forced to read along to get to the resolution of the all the plot threads he opens up, all while you are screaming on the inside "WHAT s*upid THING WILL HAPPEN NEXT"

Spoiler

MC is a reincarnator who winds up the daughter of 2 his best friends, of a group of 7 heroes and only one them figures it out over the 15 years.

This is despite the fact that MC is an impossible character killing monsters at the early age despite being "physically weak".

Her father/best friend (sword genius) is her trainer and can't figure out something is going on with her despite not having a "sword gift" but being accomplished from that early age. Aside from being one of the great heroes of the land he is also the local sword sensei.

As the story goes on they see events being resolved by what they correctly guess is the MC's reincarnation, but they never put two and two together that it only happens in the MC's vicinity.

Nobody ever asks why doesn't this little girl want to get credit for the things she does. Stopping s*avers at the age of 7, killing a giant snake monster at the age of 10, etc etc.
Her girlfriend (almost fiancee) from her previous life winds up her guardian/landlord/teacher who is also a genius tactician, never has the slightest inkling of the connection, even when she finds out he has been reincarnated and reincarnated as a woman, and whose appearances are usually nearby her and involving things close to her. What's more she never bothers to spy on the child she is parenting.

Her current friends never wonder about why she is always hiding abilities or just why she is so damn practiced and good at techniques that take a long time to learn.

Nobody ever bothers to wonder why the hell gods keep paying her a visit. Why she has magical disguise material.

When the one person does manage to put 2 and 2 together (not going to even complain about the piano being a renascence invention) jhe does it because the schools inventory of piano wire is low ? Seriously !!

After the first there's a couple people in the know, but nobody actually takes it up with him just how hurtful it must be to the people he is deliberately deceiving and that no, there is no way he will actually be able to take this to the grave. (I can see one of them doing that for romantic reasons. There's a triangle/harem deal going on. Don't even want to think about the creep factor on that)

Finally when there is a reveal it's an incredible anticlimax and leaves you with a rather empty feeling,

[collapse]

TL:DR there's some good fun here, but it's disappointing on a few levels.

So the MC was supposed to be the EX-assassin of the heroes party, but somehow has no idea about magic users (you know the guys who throw flashy fireballs and are the favorite targets of assassins?), willingly destroys his/her own body by not drinking breast-milk as a baby and doesn't stop whining about how her body is so weak because of it and can't stop saying how she wants to be a swordsman who wields a double handed sword but can't because she has the fore mentioned weak body and... more>> gets nervous when fighting easy to kill monsters. The MC would fit better if she was a reincarnated boy from middle school. Really the novel should be a 3 but 'cause there are so many who clearly haven't read the same novel I did (or read the raws but hose are not what we are discussing here) imma give this a 2. <<less

The only thing that I hate about this novel is that the MC is always b*tching returning to a guy... he's saying the same thing over and over again its making me sick. Other than that I love this novel there are cute moments and the illustrations are also drawn well.

I don't understand the high rating of this novel. What was the premise of this high rating?

Read until chapter 40.

Dumpster fire in my opinion. So much plotholes and variables that it seemed like the author was still trying to decide how to make people OP.

Reincarnator who only had his skills transfered and reborn into a girl. Author seems to have forgotten about his experiences. Forgot about the mindset of the person and switched it to a young girl midway.

Also the orphan with the persecution complex seems to have been there just to serve as a convenient tool for the MC.

Catching up to date with the latest release of two other series before this one, I must say the writing of this series is more unique, it's different from Yuuri and Half-dragon in a good way it shows the author has more experience in writing and improved compared to last time.

Seriously? full mark? the only thing deserve full mark in this novel is its illustration (just like any others).

The hero who has been reborn as the heroes daughter aims to become a hero again. The title said them all. You can know the story just by reading the title. For now, the 6th chapter there's nothing really going on and the story hasn't yet developed. Until I read the conflict and its solution, this novel would still in 'average' category.

By the way It just reached

"Ahh... I, a hero who is... more>> pretty much thrown out by the my own country now died after saving someone and for some reason reborn as cute daughter of the former hero that I admire the most and the strong woman who helped me a lot in the past. Let's train using the talent they bestow to me so I can become something that I'm unable to do before."

That paragraph sums up all 6 chapter until now. <<less

Disappointing when it comes to romance in general and when it comes to yuri... It barely avoids the yuribait title in my opinion.

Other than that it's an average to an above-average adventure fantasy novel with lovable and memorable characters. If it didn't have yuri, I would probably not pick it up or give it a 3.5 to 4-star review

Spoiler

When it comes to yuri, there is no such thing. I mean, there kind of is, but there really isn't. Many times when there're any interactions between the MC and fl's (there are two, unexpectedly. There is also Michele but she's just there for fanservice and being cutely dumb) the MC transforms into her past life's male self or at the end the fl's transformed into males for a while behind the scenes with magic potions to snu snu the MC. When Nicole (the mc) is female, the interactions kinda lack the romantic element. so, basically the whole novel we are being hinted, implied, and teased with relationships that barely progress. When it comes to romance, the only two to four characters who have it are the parents and the protagonist of another one of the author's works (hakai me no yuuri which was an awesome story btw) and her husband

[collapse]

So, yeah, the novel is not romance-oriented.

The characters are good. The author, judging by the 2 (including this) books I read, is good at character-development and writing enough to make them memorable and likable.

The plot... Well, avoiding spoilers, it's there but there feels like it comes with a ton of filler. Like, a good quarter of the plot and some characters could just be thrown out of the window not hurting the book in the slightest.

Overall, it's a decent read. I'm still disappointed about the yuri tag I came here for <<less

I'm curious how this story related to hakai me no yuuri... and the author says that there's character in hakai me no yuuri will pop out so I reread the story (manga and WN) again and again then I found out: ain't that self-proclaimed god glasses girl is yuuri, you know, big lens glasses and bow, rings any bells in your head? (please read hakai me no yuuri)

Well, anyway I love haruka-sensei works so I give this 5 stars... but I hope nothing like homo s*xual interc**rse will come... more>> out knowing from yuuri (BL (mentally)) and one other work (look it yourself), though this kind of thing is one of charm of haruka-sensei's work

Ahh sh*t make the chapters longer man I'mma enjoy this story though oh baby yesssss " lip licking sounds" mmmmmmmm.

For s serious review on this though warning right now the author and translator if after chapter 6 there is more grinding in baby hood or child hood for let's say maybe 10 chapters worth of the short chapters that have already been translated you must and and I am not saying because I said so or anything I personally love grinding in books because they play out like a movie... more>> in my head and set the world and MC better but you must either cut a quarter off of grinding that does not have much plot or reduce the scene of what happened and as well as make those grinding chapters longer atleast or other option cut the grinding in half while not affecting the story or plot understanding at all which would be harder in some people's case though I'm am saying this because some people don't like grinding in their stories and I refuse to see this story stop being translated or stop being made at all.

My person score right now if let's say a out of 5 score would be a 4.6/5 my reason for not full score is chapter length not enough detail of the surroundings like what kind of house or the world in general.

A score someone would give for a person who hates or dislikes slower story starts would currently rates this a either a 2/5 or at most a 3/5

Don't let that get to you though fix those things and keep this stroy rolling I beg you <<less

The story's generally good for what it is (a gender bender shoujo ai adventure/slice of life story) but there are an awful lot of moments that make me cringe while reading it. Without getting into spoilers, let's just say the main character makes a lot of questionable decisions without learning anything. They never have lasting bad consequences, so I guess she doesn't need to learn anything, but it's irritating every time it happens. And it happens roughly once every 5 chapters, that's right, the protagonist's IQ drops by 100 points... more>> for one incident every 5 chapters or so just to create drama.

It's not irritating enough to drop it, but I've had to skim past some chapters, and that makes the highest rating I can give 3/5. <<less

The problem I have with this story isnt the plot or the charcters, it's not bad writing. However the akwardness and drama between characters annoys me to no end.

1. The MC doesnt want to suck on his former companion's b**bies... I understand, however the problem is that he acts as such while still wanting to keep his reincarnation as a secret, making it a kinda pointless situation about morals and b**bies for an assassin.

2. The MC likes girl in past life, girl likes MC. MC proceeds to give hints that... more>> he exist but doesn't expose himself.... once again making it kinda pointless and akward.

3. Old dude companion of MC in past life, decides to help MC once he finds out. How does he help out? Naturally it's by giving a loli a skintight suit to where while doing sneaky stuff, so naturally it doesnt cover much skin cuz why would it........ this part honestly just disgusts me, I mean it's like the MC doesn't even care about anything female related that he learned in his new life, and for me is the only reason I may dislike gender-bender: because they try to be all wishy washy and have a gender identity crisis instead of just acepting it or trying to do somthing about it. <<less

For those who are saying just tell them that you are their old comrade think about it. First MC really wants a family he was an orphan in his previous life and has amazing parents but they are his old friends he either says hi your daughter that you have been breastfeeding is your dead close friend from 20 years ago haha, also call a close male friend and call him daddy or call a female friend mommy and see how they react. Also MC had a gf/wife ish thing... more>> already and his "mother" is S af so he got some pretty harsh punishment in her previous life for peeking at them. MC is trying to choose between having parents or getting married to the girl he likes. <<less

The main character's a stubborn idiot. He is completely unable to adapt to circumstances as they come up, focused entirely on a single concept whilst he goes out of his way to sabotage himself causing permanent developmental deficiency to his body by going on a hunger strike as a newborn, and then proceeding to complain about it for at least 40 chapters.

To be clear I am using male gender pronouns because as far as I've reached, the MC is still male on the inside; he hasn't accepted a damn thing... more>> with the gender bend and it's basically left as an aside rather than confronted so far.

His backstory randomly crops up mid-arc for multiple chapters with no smooth transition, but he was supposedly a great hero who died and got reincarnated; but aside from having overwhelming power, someone with such little adaptability could never have been a great hero - and I don't see no overwhelming power. His personality and supposed history casts a shadow which brings the entire story into doubt. <<less

I thought I had read further when I put this aside to gather chapters, the first reveal of his identity.

Even the manga is at same arc (chpt9 &chp33 are same event/day). I remember liking the novel plot pace though not the release pace.

meh

But it is cute story

Surprisingly not as tr*shy as I thought it would be, the early concept is very interesting,

it's had it's fair share of Japanese self insert storyline phenomenon, but it's harder to find a story without those tbh.

It's not that good, neither original, it's just about 3% different from evey single cookie cutter fantasy manga

I've got to admit, the amount of 5 star reviews this has is kind of shocking to me. I means it's not exactly 1 star either; the premise is good, the writing is pretty decent. Eventually, the inconsistency of the characters and awkward justifucations for their actions is what made me drop this.

I can't really explain what I mean without spoilers, I tried but it's all too vague without context. So then, sorry, but the rest is spoilers.

Spoiler

A companion character will say something like "I need to teach the MC how women feel so they can better sympathize with others". And then 50 chapters go by and nothing happens. Or the MC dreams of becomming a magic swordsman but a sword is their least used weapon, by far. The MC detests when other people (both boys and girls) stare at them and gets creeped out by it. Yet in that exact same chapter, probably same paragraph, admits to being turned on by a girl wearing the same outfit.

The story is basically driven by the fact that the MC wants to return to her/his old body. But why? There's never any real reason given. He/she just heard there was a transformation spell and BOOM, thats the goal now. He/she has admitted that their old body isnt as good for using thread manipulation, this new body is more dexterous and better suited for the job. You could argue that it's for the old companion he/she is in love with. But that companion has VERY clearly stated that they do not care about that and its not an issue for them, in fact, they were kind of excited by the possibility. To which the MC reply's "You're starting to creep me out". What the f***.

By the way, That spell only last a day at most, soooooo I don't unerstand the appeal. In most stories that would be a situation where it's like"oh bummer thats a dead end, I'll have to figure something else out". But for some reason in this it's a driving factor and I cannot figure out the justification for it nor the obsession to change back to a man.

Short note, I was hesitant to read it at first, because due to description it may seem like main protagonist would be some sort of total creep, who will take advantage of being a baby girl and do some perveted crap, but so far it seems like like he has some dicency, so I keep on reading
