In Great Ruins, the old, weak and disabled elders of Disabled Elderly Village picked up an infant by the riverside and named him Qin Mu, raising him up with blood and sweat. This day, as the night descended and the darkness shrouded Great Ruins, Qin Mu left home…
Become a villain undulating in the spring breeze!
That’s what Blind told him.
This is the rise of Qin Mu’s road to becoming a villain!

- World building and plot progression is simply fascinating. Most stories will start with MC in a backwater place and constantly move to newer and more powerful regions like a linear line. Here we get lotus-like storyline where MC is born directly in the most dangerous and mysterious place on his planet (center of the lotus). We see tidbits of the terror and mysterious of the place he lives, however, he is not powerful enough to explore it. The story progresses and MC will leave his home (to the lotus leaves), explore other parts of the world (unique cultivation methods in every location) and then return home where he is slightly more powerful and can explore more of his home. The mystery is also done well.
- Side characters is where I think this novel truly stands out. We have such likable cast and its truly a joy reading about them: the hilarious MC, the cast of the "disabled elderly village, " the female leads, the unique villains who have their own thoughts. Everyone, including most of the villains, are likable in this novel and that's a huge positive. There are a few arrogant people but to my surprise, they actually change. When the arrogant people meet MC and lose to him, they actually progress as characters and learn from their lessons (some of my favorite characters started as arrogant jerks).
- Power progression. Here we truly have a genius MC with unique techniques and methods. He will learn from others and then make his OWN methods. Not only that, there are other genius characters in the novel who create their own techniques and share these techniques with MC and grow stronger together. The world doesn't revolve entirely around MC. Its really refreshing to see a new power scale as well and different ways to power up - I'm sick of the whole hey look we found this super rare 500 year old plant, lets consume it and get stronger.
- The novel actually gets better the more you read. If you didn't like the beginning, please try to stick a bit longer as the world is constantly being built upon with new locations, new people, new cultivation techniques, new villains and I certainly like the novel way more currently (700+) than I did at the beginning. It doesn't fizzle out like many other cultivation novels who have a strong start and fall apart. Here it keeps up the great action, unique fights, amazing villains, and the whole cast gets stronger together and go to different worlds.
Its a shame that translation has stopped currently, I hope it gets picked back up so I can finish it. I would also recommend Rise of Humanity by the same author if you enjoyed this novel (I actually prefer RoH to... more>>If we used the idiom: “aged like fine wine” for novels, this would be the one it describes best. À première vue you would think this novel is just your average wuxia novel. Which it entirely isn’t, There are no clichés like we see so often we could take example of the:“arrogant young master”. No 1000’s of characters which we forgot after the MC gains a powerup and leaves the world. I have never seen a novel who incorporates the past so beautifully into the present. I must applaud the author for doing this. If you have read the novel, you will completely understand what I meant by this. Contrary to expectations the MC is NOT evil nor is he a righteous dickhead, he is the perfect mix who just wants to make sure his own civilization has a chance of survival by not being oppressed by the heavens. Read the novel yourself and experience the Eternal Peace reform.
I will finish it, I just need a break from the despair of OP enemies that keep popping up, near the end
