Although her baby is way too intelligent for having just been born, I mean he spoke to her in complete sentences the first day after his birth...
I dunno... maybe it's because I read Zombie Sister Strategy first, but I can't stop myself from comparing the two.
MC's for both novels were written as strong, bad-ass female soldiers/leaders who turn into a zombie-human hybrid.
Both are super powerful and can control space and store things within it.
Both are over protective mothers with a son and care deeply for their team members.
Both level up using crystals very quickly and sympathise with zombies, who then include zombies "with humanity" within the family.
One difference is that this one is a reverse-harem with some questionable MLs while ZSS is a one-on-one romance.
I know I shouldn't compare, and no, I'm not trying to imply there's any plagiarism. But, I just feel that this novel could have been better. I'm not that big of a fan of ZSS either, but compared to this similar novel, I have to say it has better character and story building.
Props to the translator for the awesome translation. Too bad the storytelling was a bit boring and mediocre for me. I feel the author would sometimes go off-topic and start "rambling" about irrelevant things, which is why I skipped A LOT of paragraphs. If I can skip 3/4 of a chapter and still understand what's going on in the storyline, then it just proves there's a lot of unnecessary info in the plot.
My main dislike is the female lead. The MC, Shao Qing, is written contradictingly in that her thoughts and actions are different to how she's described. For example, author describes her as an ex-military & special forces soldier who later became a powerful figure in a mercenary (I assume) "organisation". She's written to be heartless, ruthless and cruel with the honed technical and decision-making skills of a soldier. But, she turns into an indecisive, lovestruck and soft-hearted idiot when she's around any of the MLs. She does the dirty snu snu deed with 3 different guys, expresses in her thoughts that they're attractive and "give her a sense of security", and acknowledges that she has feelings for them... to STILL treat them indifferently or like children or like a brother, even though she gets intimate with them repeatedly afterwards *scratching my head* She even admits to feeling h**ny when one ML gives her coquettish looks but still acts indifferent which "hurts his feelings" then she has the audacity to feel guilty afterwards... like what?! If MC was male, I bet a lot of readers would be cursing her and calling her scum for treating her love interests like this. Also, what happened to her son in the later chapters? Xiao Baozi was supposedly her entire reason for getting stronger. She wanted him and herself to level up so that they could become human again and live a normal life. But it's like he barely exists in the story anymore and it's all about the MC and her MLs. The main conflict in this novel was between the MC and her scumbag ex/baby-daddy, but when she saw him after such a long time, she walked straight past him. She did absolutely nothing, which again, contradicts her character of being ruthless. The author even wrote a whole chapter to portray the MC as cold-blooded and cruel to just have her prioritise d*ck over revenge. Honestly, if she was more hot-blooded and vengeful then she'd suit her character background more and be more relatable. Unfortunately, author wanted her to be cold and indifferent, probably to make her seem cool, but ended up with a boring and lackluster MC.
Anyway, I feel like the author only tried the polyandry route to make the plot more interesting to mature audiences but actually failed in delivering the complex interactions and relationships between the MC and her harem. Also, the attempts at humour with the MC being sexually harrassed repeatedly by the MLs was not funny at all and actually really disturbing.
What I liked were the realistic descriptions of human behaviour in a world where law and order no longer exist. What happened to the normal humans, especially women and girls, were horrible and disgusting, but not at all surprising. In the post apocalypse, it's everyone for themselves and I liked how the barbaric behaviours weren't filtered or "watered-down". That's pretty much it.
from the clues, Americans (M country) and Japanese (island nation)
First of all, Gu Chuan. In the later part of the story, he is barely mentioned except through the thoughts of his sister and other more major characters occasionally mentioning him. The author hyped him up a bit as another potential lover for the MC, but nothing came out of it. And by that, I mean that there was no resolution. The MC probably never even knew that he was interested in her. His sister becomes an integral part of the story in the end and is mentioned a lot, but it's like Gu Chuan disappeared off the face of Earth. Another plot hole was the base that the MC's masochist lover left. The leader of the base let the MC and the masochist waltz out of the base after killing his step sister without any retaliation. Although the author did explain why a bit, after this incident, the leader of the base was never mentioned again. It's not that big of a deal, but I'm disappointed that he wasn't mentioned again. There are also other plot holes like how the MC got her own space storage and the baby talking at birth.
everyone in Jiangcheng loves her. I get why, but it felt to sudden.
Also the lil bun!! Why the Author doens't make him appeared more frequently?? It's make the title doesnt fit this novel imo.
The MC characteristic change so much she become more of a Mary sue and how her rule of not going beyond a certain limit with the male around was gone she literally began to sleep with them.
Story have a bunch of pole hole after 100s chapter
Here are a few example
