Traversing into another world, Zhang Xuan finds himself becoming an honorable teacher.

Along with his transcension, a mysterious library appears in his mind.

As long as it is something he has seen, regardless of whether it is a human or an object, a book on its weaknesses will be automatically compiled in the library.

Thus, he becomes formidable.

“Emperor Zhuoyang, why do you detest wearing your underwear so much? As an emperor, can’t you pay a little more attention to your image?”

“Fairy Linglong, you can always look for me if you find yourself unable to sleep at night. I am skilled in lullabies!”

“And you, Demon Lord Qiankun! Can you cut down on the garlic? Are you trying to kill me with that stench?”

This is an incredible story about teachers and students, grooming and guiding the greatest experts in the world!

It got old really fast. I'm even too lazy to properly diss it or complain about it. It's just, The MC is too good in everything, he just needs to read the books about the topic and bam! Everything is stored and ready to be converted into the most perfect version. His students are all also OP. His subordinates too. Of course the MC is also OP too. It's just... His denseness is simply becoming too old as he done it for the nth time, again and again.

His ignorance and... more>> self-importance sometimes disgust me. Dense MC is fine, but he's like that kind of noob you found in a random city who kept asking about this and that, this and that, this and that, how is this and that despite being high-leveled. It's fine too, if it's like that once in a while. But he kept doing that again and again that it made me angry at myself for reading this piece of tr*sh. <<less

This novel is, let me get this straight, hilarious. It's one of the greatest xianxia novels I have ever read and I feel that it deserves to get a 5-star rating by me. It is very different from other cultivation novels in the sense that it doesn't completely focus on the cultivation aspect of things. Zhang Xuan does not constantly train himself in order to become the best (though he does not shy away from it either). The novel, instead, focuses on face slapping. Those that have read less than... more>> a thousand chapters of this novel have no right to complain that the novel is 'unoriginal', 'boring' or even 'repetitive'. Most cultivation novels fit those exact words and not specifically this one. The idea of the MC being OP is not the most original, but his cheat sure as hell is. The novel being boring? The author creates various different face slapping moments that mostly differ from each other. I get that the MC has no rival, but that is only because of him literally have the "Library of Heaven's Path" which corrects all mistakes in cultivation manuals. It would be wrong of the MC not to be in the right.

All in all, should you read this novel?

The answer is yes and no.

If you like the novel to have the MC working his ass off in an attempt to become stronger, this is the wrong novel. Zhang Xuan takes no effort in learning whatever he reads. The premise of the novel is not an endless and treacherous journey of Zhang Xuan becoming stronger; if you like those kinds of novels, I'd recommend having a go at reading 'Mother of Learning' (Royal Road) or 'Peerless Martial God' instead.

If you enjoy humour, then this novel is for you. Zhang Xuan almost never (I'm saying 'almost' because I haven't finished the novel) loses in a fight but that doesn't mean he is always stronger than his opponents. That's where Zhang Xuan's tactic of out-wit comes in. There are some times when crazy strong experts fall and have to submit to Zhang Xuan due to them believing him to be a peerless expert.

Lastly, if you do read this novel, I'd suggest reading the novel in short bursts (about 400 chapters per read). This is because LOHP is very period based. After 400 chapters, your immunity to Zhang Xuan's face slaps goes up and laughter from Zhang Xuan's achievements become rare. A little refresh helps solve this dilemma. Simply read some manga, manhua, manhwa- something short- in the meanwhile. <<less

Sigh, Library of heaven's path is a good novel, hilarious and has tons of good points in them, especially in the earlier chapters, sadly that later goes down hill after chapter 300 as the jokes and good points kinda become dull.

Now I won't be saying it's bad without giving reasons to because god knows how many people can get butt-hurt over something this small, so now i'll make my own list as to why LOHP is barely okay as a novel.

  • Spoiler
    • Students: So everyone know that his golden finger/cheat basically originated because he was a teacher in some school I don't remember, and it activated by a lecture or something. So i'd like to say that one of the reason why I liked LOHP as much as I did was because of his students, freaking loved the interactions he had with them and the comedy it brought along as we went further into the novel.

Now I don't remember when I noticed that the novel which usually focused a lot of attention on his students, stopped and started to only write about how op ZX was and his face smacks. Now it wasn't a problem as ZX was quite the funny MC and the face smacks where pretty comical, but after around 300 chapters of reading the same ol'jokes over and over again, I started to tire. The plot who only focused on his students, now only focuses on ZX and his very dead comedic humor/denseness.

    • Zhang Xuan: Ah yes, Dear old MC is also quite a big problem if you ask me. This problem that ZX has connects with the student flaw thing I just mentioned. I came here to read a novel about how ZX gets more powerful along with his students with his cheat and the comedy it brings along the wonky journey, plus the strange people they meet. What I got is: A blank MC who's more denser than anything i've ever seen and is so OP, too OP if you ask me (like.. Bruh, where's your students at?!) that he easily overcomes any challanges without blinking his eyes. It get's kinda boring after reading 600 DAMN CHAPTERS OF THE SAME THING! My god, this novel really screwed up, I will never pick it up again, and if you read this spoiler and think my argument about LOHP being a boring novel is correct, then perhaps either read the novel and see for yourself or just don't, either one works fine.

    NO MORE, I'M OUT.

Story had great potential, but is getting very repetitive as someone mentioned. He constantly breaks guides' prized treasures because he is ignorant of it, like he goes to take a test and bam, he destroy the test dummies or he finds the energy core and takes its energy. He doesn't show his status which lead to 99% of conflicts with him in the stories. Powerful spirits want to take him as student and he immediately refused him without finding out who it is first. So this novel begin really well and the story itself isnt bad. Its just the author force certain dumb situation on us that make no sense beside the fact that he wants there to be problem or for the MC to look cool.

Spoiler

so the MC has this all knowing power that let him understand the strenght and weakness of certain items or skill. At the brining he uses it very well but as the story progress it seem seem like the MC is so dumb in using/understanding how to apply this knowledge. He knows everything about the item or skill but yet some how messes up using it in one way or another but still looks cool doing it. At first it fine but the author does that so much now it's just making MC look plain out dumb. There are other way to make him look cool beside making him mess up unintiinally. And it's always the same... oops I'm sorry I didn't mean to but hey let me help you with something else to even it out. How about the MC not mess up so often since he has this all knowing power.

[collapse]

I would recommend this book to people if they can get pass the annoying dumb mistake he does even though he has the all knowing knowledge. It actually a pretty funny novel. Great way to kill time. As for me I just can't get over the fact that he's suppose to know it all but still messes. Im not saying he should be perfect but the mistakes he makes are so dumb that it pulls me out of the story.

I actually read a couple of other reviews on this novel and one review put it quite nicely. The MC doesn't have common sense sometime. <<less

Library of Heaven's path is a face slapping. Comedy novel. As a huge fan of the comedy genre, there's no surprise that I liked the beginning of the novel. The story is simple, the MC is likable, and the characters that he meets are varied, despite not characterized very much. But that's ok, since it's, first and foremost, a comedy, after all. Plus, almost all characters get discarded, and new ones take their places, so the story doesn't get stale. I think that this is one of the novel's strong... more>> points. Despite hundreds of chapters deep and finding the story and comedy to be formulaic to an extent, I never got bored of it and kept on reading. This is something laudable.

However, the problem I had with this novel, when we got to the 1000s of chapters, is the story. I will let you know that there is indeed, some romance in the novel, and it becomes a turning point in the novel's story. But again, as I stated before, the characters are pretty much all one dimensional or not well developed, so why the hell would I care about this female lead all of the sudden? The genre kind of switches gears in a way, and takes from the comedy of the novel that I was expecting. The romance is just straight up awful, and I really couldn't finish. <<less

in short : Area 1->break record-> faceslap ->level up->faceslap ->Area 2..... repeat to infinity

I've seen really repetitive novels out there but this one tops em all. At least all the others have decency to write some action, training, different cultivation technique and names of levels of cultivation. In this novel it proggresses with damn number 1 until 9 Jesus. MC's servant is also a prime example on how author tries to insert a type of skit or comedy piece... more>>

MC's servant goes and talk sh*t to a lot of higher ranking people in the novels, got countless jaw dropping reaction from people around highlighting how great MC is

[collapse]
but get repeated countless times it becomes bland

Villains are all serve as MC stepping stone to get face slapped 20+ chapter later on.

Allies are all useless one dimentional character with 0 development and just serve to highlight how great MC is.

plot is boring and repetitive as said earlier.

And the MC feels have 0 goals aside from removing his poison. and got misunderstood by everyother people like he's done some honourable shit. He think he is some great stuff with his ego and while having 0 hardships on his journey. Wanna break through/learn something new BAM suddenly stronger than anyone on the area quickly followed reactions from observers. Which again. Repeated through the entire damn storyline. Even fairytail's power of friendship have more depth and less predictable than this MC progression through the story.

sry atrocious english

Boring novel I wasted my time.

If u insist on reading this piece of crap, read until MC goes to next kingdom. Then u can make your own version of this story with your own cast and plot and your own faceslapping moments with the format provided from the first a couple hundred chapters. <<less

Repetitive, same old face slapping comedy routine in every arc.

The opponents are always like: Hey, what can a young man like you possibly know about the ancient/profound art of *insert xianxia profession here*?

Then the same 'ol face slapping begins and afterwards, all hail our MC.

I am dropping this because there is no reason to continue this. I know that even face slapping comedies have something or the other that attracts the reader and keeps him hooked. It may be a side character, a romantic interest, etc. But unfortunately for this... more>> one, glorifying the MC is all there is to it.

Will recommend till chapter 30. Will not recommend further <<less

The easiest way too explain this novel is that it's the junk food equivalent of novels.

The story doesn't really change much and the bs that helps the MC his first time will be the thing helping him for the 200th time.

The plot isn't interesting once it has been rehashed for the 100th time with different characters and the world isn't interesing either because it grows in the same way every time.

... more>> MC encounters character A,

A has a problem but MC isn't strong/wise enough yet,

MC powers up or learns something new and is then able to help character A,

in this process the antagonist gets offended and wants to battle the MC or something,

after the MC wins repeat from the beginning but with new characters

I will give credit to the first hundred or so chapters as they are still a fun read but aftr that it just kinda repeats with new characters <<less

It's not a bad story, but it's a way too much repetitive and dump elongated, every time the MC meats someone you know what gonna happen, he underestimate the MC just to end awestruck if the guy is not in the underestimating phase anymore then he gonna be awestruck again, not only the abstract idea every single details is repeated, their action, their thoughts, the jokes, how they underestimate him for being lowly, how the MC does incredible thing but didn't know he does so, how the MC sometimes seems... more>> s*upid and lack on common sense, how he forget about his incredible ability only to remember that it can solve his problem like it's the result of an intelligent brainstorming, how he wanna keep a low profile but showoff, how the author keep dumping explaining the obvious and so on and so fort. If I didn't know better, I would say that it's a program that generating this novel using some data guidelines.

Another problem is the MC's ability is overpowered, and that's not the problem the problem is the MC didn't live up to it's potentials, it's an ability that can answer a lot of his inquiries and problems yet he keep wondering a lot of times and asking other people. <<less

At first, I thought this novel would be interesting, it had a light tone with some comedy here and there plus some face slapping as a bonus. But then the story continued and it all went downhill. The way he gains knowledge is s*upid but bearable, The way people act towards him, in the beginning, makes sense which was nice but then the students came in. And with but a wave of his hand they start idolizing him as a god. It was frankly quite annoying, then there's the point... more>> where others spend years upon years of effort to advance realms and gain strength but he just sits there for an hour or so and BAM his strength rivals or even surpasses the local experts. He then constantly complains everytime he's about to advance realms that it's so slow or whatever which is not that funny, plus he still doesn't know any common sense.
Spoiler

Like, later on, he has absorbed a humongous amount of books, and he has used some sort of golden page to assimilate the books that were in the library into his own knowledge. There has to be at least some common sense in those books, all that knowledge literally flew into your soul and became your own knowledge yet you still don't have any common sense. It's just frustrating.

This author is getting on my nerves. The one thing I can't stand is when the MC/protagonist counteract everything he says and does. The whole story so far (im at chapter 116) he says he has to lie low or keep a low profile and keep the library a secret but yet he sticks out like a giant sore thumb. Every secret or event that anyone trieds to hide he points out, and yet no one thought that he has a secret or anything like that, so god damm s*upid,... more>> its like everyone else but the MC is a block head. I'm also pretty sure the author is a sexist, he just has to make the few females so far, worship the MC after the MC takes them down a notch or two. I'm not against females but a real conceded female has their own pride and wouldn't spare a glace to this loser MC but the author keeps making them attracted to him. <<less

Repetitive and formulaic. The MC bluffs, collects books, the library sorts out everything, and he goes around slapping faces. It started off fun but it just ends up like every other CN novel. The only thing variable in the story so far are the names, guilds, association, and map.

Here's the gist of the story. MC arrives at new map > a**holes look down on him/bully for coming from a relatively poor kingdom > MC uses cheat to show off > a**holes become polite human beings because power is everything (a... more>> la every CN novel ever).

The chapters are also ridiculously padded with commentaries from audiences. Because every place they go, there has to be competitions and the MC will kick everyone's ass. The commentaries prior to the competitions are insults and dissing. The ones after are gasps and respect. Repeat for every place they go to and you have the novel. <<less

This would easily be 5 stars without the padding and long-windedness. I will qualify this statement, however, by noting that I started reading the Chinese raws after chapter 26. That may make me less forgiving of the padding because I read slower in Chinese, and because Chinese metaphors seem fresher to me when expressed in English. At some point of time, I started skipping over lines. Although I remain entertained by knowing how the face-slapping happened and what it led to, it became tiresome to read many lines of elaboration... more>> on just how shocked or irritated someone is. For example, chapter 213 is basically about an antagonist preparing to see the "no-name" protagonist get humiliated at an event but then he is shocked at the fact that famous people are actually attending the event. I just want the plot to go on already and get to the face-slapping.

If you can forgive or skip the padding, this is definitely worth reading up to the latest raw chapters. <<less

Rating: 3.5 - 4/5
Hard to give a rating because there’s been times where I’ve wanted to give this 1 star and there’s been times where I wanted to give 5 stars.

The good point of this novel is that the story is interesting, unique, and fully fleshed out. It all comes together nicely at the end. Also the novel can be very funny at times. Romance is okay.

The main issue with the novel is the main character. The long running joke is that the MC thinks he’s humble and low... more>> key, but actually he always humble brags and destroys everything wherever he goes because he has zero common sense.

Basically we get this pattern:

1. MC thinks he’s acting normal, but either destroys everything or greatly offends someone

2. People get mad and try to punish him

3. MC doesn’t understand why they’re mad because he has no common sense. So he retaliates and wrecks them because he’s OP

4. Misunderstanding gets cleared up (Or it never gets cleared up which is even more annoying)

5. MC: Oops. Oh well, nothing I could’ve done. Yep, not my fault.

This is funny the first few times but after thousands of chapters, you just start to feel bad for all the innocent people MC screws over.

Luckily a lot of the annoying parts of the MC’s personality gets fixed in the later chapters. <<less

A Trap by Webnovel

A novel where there is no world building, no character development, and perhaps the worse cultivation system out there!

we start with our MC transmigrating from earth found himself in dire situations that needs him to faceslap every as*hole that come to his eyes in this case its these "expert" be it in cultivation, art, music, or everything you can possibly thing of is getting faceslap by this MC by his fcking idiotic op cheat called Heavenly Library.

MC is has no brain but he made into a fcking... more>> teacher! Where all he did was just give them some Legendary Cultivation Technicue whic he get from perfecting from cultivation books. Thats all enough to make him the best teacher out there in his idiotic world.

I remember there is this Emperor of the first country the MC transmigrate to yeah youre not reading it wrong there first country (weakest country in this novel universe). Whichis rich has harems palaces and great wealth.

Then we go to travel to this another country just outside the border! To realize even the peddler is at stage 8! And he is a gravedigger thats trying to survive his life (getting his items from grave to sell).

DONT BELIEVE THE REVIEW IN WEBNOVEL! ITS RANKING IS MANIPULATED! FCKING HYPOCRISY! This novel is always at top 3 at the very least in Webnovel. Its mindblowing thats this kind sh*t novel is in there. <<less

Xianxia face-slapping at it's finest. The story relies on a transmigrated character who is a teacher rather than a run-of-the-mill protagonist.

Let's get this out of the way; Library of Heaven's Path is a comedy of face-slapping, and any drama or world building is subservient to both.

In its weaker moment, it relies on genre tropes such as arrogant young masters, coincidentally getting exactly what you want, being completely immune to feminine charms, appalling arrogance from the MC despite being a frog at the bottom of a well, and basically all the... more>> things you're probably used to either loving or hating from xianxia.

But LoHP transcends all this by being the consistently among the best at what it does. The face-slaps are enjoyable, the power-ups feel somewhat reasonable, events are suitably foreshadowed, the author remembers how his world works, and there's a minimum of random ass-pulls.

MC's cheat is ridiculously overpowered, but it's also very consistent. As the story progresses and the MC has gained in raw physical power, he has a tendency to fight his way through a situation, which puts a damper somewhat on potential comedic situations. In any case, it's not without its flaws, but you would be hard pressed to find better face-slapping anywhere in Chinese webnovels. <<less

Three words: Repetitive face slapping

That's the best way to described this novel. The only difference from this novel compare to other xuanhuan novels is that the MC is a teacher and it follows his path to greatness as the best teacher. Everything else is very repetitive, cliche and typical as any other novel of this genre. Honestly, if it wasn't because of this one aspect I would probably drop this novel by now.
