Such a good novel, so sad it got discontinued. When I started I thought it might be bad since it got discontinued but this is a hidden gem. It skips all the sh*t JP reincarnation novels do and go straight to the story, and instead of the typical JP where the MC is strong for no reason, this MC is not strong with cheat, and is even disadvantaged when compared with others in the world but still build up his strength with his cunning intelligence and skill. I hope they... more>> jump start this novel again <<less

I have to disagree strongly with the reviewer above me whose views are fine btw, without spoiling to much, I consider going to school torture of unimaginable proportions, thats my perspective, standing in front of class was a nightmare when I had to do poetry reading or prose, debates and other public speaking horrors that still leave me shaking to this day, I found exercises before doing the fun stuff with sports tiresome and cruel, back in my day we had corporal punishment, which either involved the strap, (a... more>> leather belt like tool to instill discipline in naughty children), the cane, a formidable wooden stick used on your hand and or butt, the ruler or the whip stick that is used by being smacked across the knuckle or around the legs, being placed outside whether it was rain sun or hail, getting your mouth washed out with soap if you spoke a bad word within range of a Teachers hearing or tattled on by other brats.

This was perfectly legal and acceptable to do at the time, so this is what Im saying now, by our standards today it would be considered cruel and abusive, in this story its simply the way it is, spare the rod spoil the child, train our future recruits to be magnificent villains for the organization, or die.

This perspective is from the Teacher who is the MC not the hero, its refreshing because of the insight this person with very little power at least in terms of magic ability and fighting skill has however a huge amount of survival cunning and savvy to be able to train and mingle with such OP monsters without suffering any ill effects. In fact he has prospered, in an evil organization no less!

How interesting! No tropes of enter hero, hero power, harem waifu, demonstrate power, dense MC, saves the world, destroys or falls for the evil villain, then happy ending, Theres none of that, just a good old regular human with a bit of previous world knowledge to see him through. The encounters he has with other characters are like a box full of chocolates without the box label description of contents, you never know what you will get inside, and therein lies the enjoyment factor, his insight, his interactions with others, and his ability to avoid or head off death flags that come his way are so refreshing without doing a single heroic thing at all.

Please read this gem, its really worthwhile, my thanks to the author for creating it, and thanks to the translator for picking this up, my world would be less bright without it, its not a literary masterpiece that will win a prestigious award, it doesnt need that, it simply entertains :D <<less

Chapters 1 through 4 are amazing, I honestly recommend reading them and just pretending that the end of chapter 4 is the end of the story... everything afterwards is just so much worse though both in terms of quality and content...

Well anyway, the only thing I "really" want to say is this, the first 4 chapters are great but the remaining 4 chapters are just an atrociously bad retelling of the first 4 chapters. Oh, and, the MC is a cheat at everything! he just lacks the ability to... more>> utilize mana himself, he could easily lead a relaxing safe life if he felt like it, and the fact that he was a villain becomes irrelevant within the first chapter (that chapter takes place prior in time to the prologue...), put simply this story falls apart if you pay too much attention to detail just enjoy it half halfheartedly.

Chapters 5 and onward are just disgusting... And honestly just a way of retelling chapters 1 through 4 in a "superficially" different setting with "superficially" more characters but with worse treatment for the students, unrealistic developments/results, and the MC turning into a different character entirely, actively choosing to be cruel without a good reason, using the metal bat without reserve, actively being s*upid in a way that harms his chances at survival (he does stuff that's just all around s*upid for him to do, at first the MC and the bat call attention to some of the s*upid stuff he does giving immersion breakingly bad excuses for why he can get away with what he does, then they just lightly mention how the ideas are bad, then finally they just gloss over how bad the ideas are)... all around the MC just turns into a petty whiny completely unlikable character.

Anyway, the story devolves into the MC implementing really atrocious and all around just bad school policies (that should get the school shut down and the teachers punished (torture/execute) for the former due to just how s*upidly bad they are and for the latter due to how inhumane they are) in a school on the verge of getting shut down turning the school into essentially the same thing his training grounds used to be, up till chapter 4, for the sake of making use of the secret identity he felt like using, despite having plenty of better options as far as where to go into hiding (he has to make public appearances in places that honestly he has no "valid" excuse for getting away with appearing at right from the start) (all around his policies are just bad for both the school and for teaching the students, the only real benefits the students receive are entirely unrelated to his policies one the summoned beasts and two the practice <-- what should essentially be their normal curriculum always given the type of school it is, the paperwork is just random and out of nowhere)

Not to mention that the circumstances of the school are blatantly out of nowhere (aka: forced) the school supposedly survived since the founding of the empire but what's bringing it down now is something that has been a fundamental issue of the school since it's founding... the fact that there's really no benefit to going to such a school, anything that school can offer can either be obtained by an anyone with the qualifications to enter it easily prior/without going to any school or can get obtained better in one of the other schools, until the MC arrives with his cheat knowledge that is... then the tr*sh parents regardless of how bad the school has become force their kids into attending and everything just goes the way the MC wants.

Lastly, given how bad he makes things for the students, realistically even if everything went as smoothly as the author says it does with the tr*sh parents, and him not getting caught due to his newfound s*upidity, realistically there should've been mass su*cides by the students, unlike the first trio they don't have some special reason for enduring the torture that they receive, honestly there's not even a valid reason for torturing being used on them them, (the first trio were likely to rebel/try to kill MC but these students were genuinely just good normal students), torture that's way worse than the torture the trio received at that (silver bat torture), to the point that it's apparently much worse than death, even according to a god to such an extent that it was willing to sell it's soul, something way worse than death itself as it's essentially true death, there's no way of coming back from that. <<less

I think I found my favorite novel. The writing style is immaculate, the characters are fascinating and the story-line is hilarious. It negates all the classic cliches of reincarnation stories - no cheat skill, no harem, a realistic MC. I can't wait for more chapters to get translated.

Five stars. A great twist on the Tensei genre, I've always been a fan of novels by the evil organization, however they are few and far between. The writing is good, it reminds me of that other five star series of mine, Kumo. The translation is pretty good too. Although I definitely think there is more to the protagonist than what the initial setup is

This is similar as 'History Number 1 Founder'. It's hilarious but the MC is old AF and people try to take advantage of his old age to tie him down. His character presence becomes weaker. Someone give him eternal youth or something....

Frankly, I'm glad the Author chose to delete this and rewrite the story again. The question is how many changes the Author did and is it better then what was read before...? Even the Heroes get the girls but the MC had rotten luck being sent into this... more>> world with nothing. Might as well make him young and give the dude some romance.

Just like HN1F, he's left with the leftovers. Even so the Author is extraordinary clever. When you think the MC is f*cked, he writes a better scenario to follow through.

The MC created, Heroes, Villains and more Villains.... but this last generation were different from the rest and take after the MC personality the most. The Organization feared they would side with the Empire, they are also powerful enough to be Heroes and it's impossible to become Villains. But the route they take is...

Either way this really needs to be updated. It's no less then the other Teacher novels you've read. It's crazy... <<less

This one is an amazing novel, the protagonist is reincarnated without cheat like power, and can only depend on his past memories, also he a realistic person and has dark view of the world. Althought he join an evil organization he is not evil but not a good guy either. The misunderstanding in this one is really hilarious, and there so many unexpectedly funny twist. I will highly recommend this novel for if you are bored with typical reincarnation novel.

Is this novel flawed? Yes

Do I still enjoy every chapter? Also Yes

RATH/ETH is half yandere comedy, half isekai thought experiment. This series is one of the closest things you can get to a reader or a shitposter getting isekai'd and using their experience and knowledge to paradoxical success. While this is the original version and the author chose to discontinue and remake the series, this version has the more streamlined version of the first few arcs and still has enough of the comedic core to give you the same chuckles.

In... more>> all seriousness, It does have a lot of running jokes and stream of consciousness writing for fast paced and high tension scenes. These don't particularly bother me, but if they do bother you, the warning has been given. <<less

I don't get why people are fiending this version so much the LN is a straight upgrade litterally nothing is lost.

This is one like ordering some fries good and enjoyanble but not very filling. While the LN is like a full course meal all the bases are covered its filling its good theres some variety.

Tbis version is a lot harder to follow because it moves so fast and the characters are kinda samey. Meanwhile in the LN the progession is more natural and detailed the jokes are still there and... more>> theyre funnier cause you've got more to work with.

Both the WN and LN are great but you know the wn is the draft and the ln is the final product.

Frankly I think people sh*t on the LN because the twists are great fantastic even in the moment but cmon see the same absurd bs twice you roll your eyes. <<less

I feel so upset at this. This one was the good one. The one I liked. The remake has no sense of pacing and takes ages to do anything. Sure, the remake is still funny, but... it doesn't hold on to me. I dropped it and never really felt any regret about it; the only regret I felt was that this story will never get finished.

I don't know whether to recommend this one. This one is way better than the remake, but at the same time different enough that you... more>> can't just transfer over. <<less

The MC is a transmigrator who's lived his second life up to his fourties. He has no ability whatsoever to harness the magical powers of the new world he's entered so what does he do? Find a comfortable position for himself and prepare a few cheep - and loads of very expensive tricks to survive.

However in spite of this, this whole story is in essence a power trip with loads of jokes thrown in. Why? Because of all the cheat like students he trains as well as the ultimate trump... more>> card (s) he uses to keep those students in line.

It's a pretty easy read, there are no heart rending moments so far and few dull moments. The only demerit so far that the plot progresses to easily, with all the adversities being overcome so easily. But in spite of that it's immensely satisfying to read. Definitely worth a try. <<less

An amazing novel. Different from most of the reincarnation genre. Lot of beliefs about reincarnation is destroyed in first chapter itself. Interesting as well as funny. I will highly recommend this novel if you are looking for something different.

This novel is GOLD, well writen and relatable characters with good developement, AMAZING world building where the MC is always involved in some way that makes his life go to shit, and the novel is hilarious.

The plot is that there is no real love inetrest, the dude somehow got a handful of yanderes chasing him and he runs away from them to keep his freedom. In short, the harem tag is more parodic than anything as MC wants nothing to do with the main women.

The translation could use a proofreader... more>> sometimes (confusions with gender pronouns) but the sheer quality of the original work more thank makes up for it, the easiest 5 star rating I ever gave.

If you like fantasy, adventure and funny novels, do NOT miss out on this. <<less

I used to read this novel on a totally different site, and I finished it a while ago. It's kind of sad that the author stopped it randomly. There is a remake going on that slowly diverges from the original story, but stays relatively the same for a while. It's different enough to be worthwhile reading from the start. Its literally just called "Running away from the hero (Remake) ", I suggest checking it out because it includes an uncountable amount of references to other novels, games, shows and movies,... more>> and is as funny or more then this novel. If you haven't read this novel yet, it's fine go read the remake without reading this one first, but this one is pretty too so you can still read both. <<less

Starts off strong. Characters are interesting. Quality drops really low after a while, almost becomes a completely separate thing.

First part is 5/5. Must read.

Second part is 2/5 at a good day. Passable at best.

It is an intriguing story where the MC is not innately strong and he has to rely on his wits and crafts to navigate his daily life among OP children. I like the way author repeats the scene from different perspectives and not just MC's. This was a refreshing take on the over-saturated wuxia genre.

If I remember correctly author had to pause this novel because of some enlistment. It is a pity that this promising novel is just gathering dust on authors desk. I really wish the author would come... more>> out of hiatus soon and give us more of this brilliant take. <<less

This novel is pretty good. It has a really good concept, and the plot implementation is done very well. The main character reminds me somewhat of Ainz, from Overlord. The only reason I won't give this novel a five out of five is because there are POV switches that are extremely to follow. Also, the translator needs to do a better job of reviewing, as they made a number of mistakes, grammatical as well as entire words missing.

This is a great story. There are some parts of the MC's past that are questionable, but overall makes sense. But, overall this is a refreshing story that makes fun of other hero tropes from the view point of the "villain." It shifts viewpoints and the school arc kind of gets crazy. I'm not a fan of how over the top things are getting, but the novel is still promising.
