All Chu Lian had done was to read a book where the female lead had cheated on her wonderful husband. While wondering why, before she knew it, she was waking up in the body of that very same female lead!

Wait, did that mean the handsome husband from the book was hers now? Chu Lian decided to welcome him with open arms!

However, what she got wasn’t the kind husband she had been expecting. Instead, his personality seemed to have been completely flipped! He left her all alone on their wedding night… and just five days into their marriage, her dear husband abandoned his loving wife and left to enlist in the army!

Fine! Be that way! She could pass her days perfectly well somehow, even if she had to do it alone!

Chu Lian put her household in order, charmed the rest of her new family, and did a little business on the side. She even opened up some new trade routes! Her days passed peacefully and leisurely… Until her dear husband got into trouble at the frontline of the war.

Hmph, isn’t he crawling back to me for help in the end? Forget it, I’ll go save him myself!

This novel has a great first half, but gets worse when the romance actually begins. It did eventually improve towards the end, but was not as good as the beginning was. The ending was so-so.

I don't think the romance in this novel is that great. 80% of the romantic interactions between the main couple (He Changdi [HCD] and Chu Lian [CL]) made me think that the two would be honestly better if they were not in a romantic relationship. One of the biggest problems between the couple is that they... more>> very often fail to properly communicate.

Spoiler

For example, HCD and CL attend a royal hunt. During the hunt, two events occur nearly simultaneously. HCD is with the men on their way to hunt when Princess Leyao comes over on a horse (which she should not have been doing) and gets thrown off her horse, injuring herself. The Emperor orders HCD to accompany Leyao to the imperial physicians. Meanwhile, the womenfolk, under the instigation of Imperial Concubine Wei, are going to play polo. Due to some words from Feudal Princess Anmin, Chu Lian is forced to play. Unfortunately, Chu Lian is caught in a plot, which causes her to be thrown off her horse. Xiao Bo Jian heroically saves her, and HCD sees the scene of CL in XBJ's arms while CL sees HCD with Princess Leyao.

Instead of actually talking to each other and giving each other a chance to explain things, the two just stay silent and avoid each each. Although HCD sleeps in the same tent, he does not sleep with CL. At some point, CL pretends to be asleep to avoid talking to HCD.

This leads to an even worse part.

An imperial physician recommends that CL relax in the hot springs, so she does so but falls asleep. HCD, upon seeing herself, becomes aroused, and without saying anything or attempting to wake CL up, he hugs her and then starts groping her. When she becomes conscious again, she struggles, but HCD kisses her, making CL unable to say anything. HCD does not stop until by chance, he notices that there are tears in CL's eyes.

After that, CL runs to her good friend Royal Princess Duanjia's place to sleep. HCD acts like a white lotus and stands in the rain, waiting for CL to forgive him. It really infuriated him how easily CL forgave him and how she seemed to ignore how manipulative he seemed.

[collapse]

I also think that all the s*x scenes are terrible and rather awkward.

Spoiler

Practically all of them are CL saying that she doesn't want to have s*x (though it is easy to infer that she is not completely against the idea) while HCD is h**ny. HCD continues the s*xual encounter of his own volition. I don't think that this is r*pe or meant to be r*pe because I think if CL truly did not want to have s*x, she would be blatant about it during the whole encounter. I believe that the author wanted to write a scene of "a wolf devouring a little white rabbit, " but had no experience writing s*x scenes. I personally feel that the novel would be better with the s*x scenes omitted.

[collapse]

I feel that as the novel went on, the author butchered some characters that had really good potential. Specifically, Madame Zou, Chu Lian herself, and He Changdi.

Spoiler

Madame Zou didn't really do much wrong as far as I can remember. Most of her resentment comes from the Matriarch mindlessly forcing Madame Zou to do things without being aware of the current situation. For example, the Matriarch wanted Madame Zou to give Chu Lian some expensive jewelry without caring or perhaps even being aware that the He estate was in poor financial condition. If she holds any resentment towards Chu Lian, it is justified because she honestly didn't deserve to have been treated so poorly. If anything, I would blame it on the Matriarch, who carelessly gave out orders without knowing the potential consequences.

Honestly, I feel like Madame Zou is the perfect character for a Quick Wear/Quick Transmigration MC to transmigrate into.

[collapse]

Spoiler

In the beginning, we see CL as a woman who is able to survive on her own. She is able to build a business and make powerful allies*cough*foodies*cough*. She even goes to the North of her volition to obtain an herb for her mother-in-law.

However, after returning from the North with HCD, she doesn't really show the same ferociousness that she did in the beginning of the novel, and all I can really remember is her having to be saved by HCD so often.

[collapse]

Spoiler

I think He Changdi had the potential to be a great male lead. However, I feel that the author completely ruined this character when they decided to give HCD a "h**ny virg*n" characteristic. He's never had s*x in either of his lives, so he ended up really enjoying s*x and often craving it.

Honestly, if HCD wasn't such a s*x maniac, the romance scenes would have been a lot better, and his character wouldn't come off as so r*pe-y to Western readers. It feels like 70% of the time when he's with CL, he gets h**ny and gets CL to have s*x with him even though CL did not intend to. When he's unable to have s*x with CL (because she's pregnant), I felt like their relationship was a thousand times better. He treats her sweetly. Honestly, if the s*x scenes were written like in Demon Wang's Favorite Golden Fei, then this novel would have been a lot better. IIRC, the ML in Demon Wang's Favorite Golden Fei was so worried about the FL during the first time they had s*x that he was excessively gentle with her, not wanting to hurt her; IIRC that ML also had the FL dig her nails into his back in order to lessen the pain that she was feeling.

I also think that the scene with HCD waiting in the rain for CL to forgive him was not romantic at all and instead made HCD seem super manipulative. Either CL will forgive him, or others will notice HCD standing in the rain, and bad rumors will spread about CL about how she forced her husband to stand in the rain for her.

I think HCD's character had the potential to be something better. The s*x scenes shouldn't have required him to be a h**ny virg*n to occur. HCD could have worked perfectly as a man who usually has an iceberg-like expression but smiles with the warmth of spring when he's with his wife.

I don't have many problems with his actions at the beginning of the novel, including choking CL. My major problem is that he tries to take revenge on people before they have done him any wrong. If it had been the original Chu Lian, then she would have been innocent because she had yet to try to harm him.

[collapse]

The second half felt kinda rushed, and it seemed like the author was just trying to finish the story.

The story is Transmigrator Meets Reincarnator, but no detail is given about the conversation that the two have after they find out that one is a transmigrator and one is a reincarnator; it mentioned in a mere sentence, which is very disappointing.

The secondary characters and their romances are not detailed at the end, merely a short paragraph to announce what happened to them. They were romances that were heavily implied throughout the novel, but the reader isn't given much detail as to how some of it developed.

The last few villain's plans seemed to have fallen through rather quickly.

Despite all its flaws, I thought that this novel was a rather enjoyable read, especially the beginning. <<less

Finished reading the novel in chinese.

My personal score: 70/100 (Better than quite a number of novels out there, but there are a few others of this genre that stood out better than this)

  • (- point) Using food as a bargaining chip is fairly common in stories involving brought-over knowledge.
  • (++ point) Starting to middle of the story was fresh and interesting.
  • (+ point) Sub-plots are decent, consistent and fairly straightforward.
  • (+ point) Story was engaging to read, until about 3/4 of it.
  • (- point) Introduced a main plot component at 3/4 of the story that brought the score down. I personally think author ran out of ideas, which was why the story ended soon after that.

The story revolves around a transmigrated woman who's a foodie and her 'lunatic' husband. Well, you can't really blame the MC for jokingly saying that to her husband. Who told him to act so differently from the novel that she read. The MC just wanted to have a peaceful and satisfying life with the ML, yet he's too cold for words!

Turning to the ML's perspective, the reason why he's changed into an iceberg is because he's dead set on taking revenge against his 'wife'!! Turns out, he's been reincarnated.

Both don't know that their other half has been reincarnated / transmigrated, so they acted the way they did.

Romance is quite slow in this novel so if you want something to happen you'll have to wait for a bit.

Spoiler

Mutual feelings starts at around chapter 283.

[collapse]

However watching their relationship turn from distant enemies to cute sweethearts will be worth the wait.

This is totally good!

But beware! Do not read this when you are hungry! Hooman, you've been warned.

SUMMARY:

Chu Lian, the female protagonist of this story came from the modern world and transmigrated to the novel which she read before. He Changdi is her husband who is acting opposite of who he is described in the book. The reason? He reincarnated and very mad at her as she betrayed him in his past life. It is a cute story where Chu Lian, relied on herself, using her knowledge from the modern world... more>> (mostly on food-related stuff) to get by so she can live in peace and He Changdi is acting all tsundere on her.

I can't stand this one. The ML is mean to the MC, and not even a cute mean. Just plain a**hole! MC is strong, but I really can't stand the ml. STOP STEALING HER FOOD. the author did a poor job at drawing people into liking the ml, I mean.... ML is just an as*hole at this point (I'm on chap 50). There's NOTHING likable about him. He misunderstands her constantly and it's a repeat of the same chapter with different shits to misunderstand. I see he has a... more>> reason for hating her, but please give us something to like about him!? No? I'm dropping this one. 5 star for the MC, NEGATIVE 5 for ml, 1 for story. And why must we need to know every single member of the family so fast!?! 30+ random names thrown at us (can't forget, it comes with their back story too. Like I don't need to know the back story of maid A!). We don't care!

I mean, l would like to invite 'Zhen zhen' from "empress with no virtue " to slap the ML (along with the author) like how she slapped that maid who gave her husband 'gu.' Thats how unattractive the ML is, that I even wish a MC from another novel to unleash her slaps to this ml. Lawd. The author describe the ML as supper hot, but with his attitude, all I can imagine in my head is a ugly dude. <<less

I have mixed feelings about it. I started reading due to business mentioned by translator yet so far business is just mentioned. On the other hand MC won my sympathy instantly by declaring I am not gonna be brain dead protagonist. Romance is very far away though male leads don t think so omg. Too much cooking and little action, but damn if this is not fun to read somehow. Though I feel a bit cheated I will continue to read it.

Update as of Chapter 278: Cold... Love it.

Update as of Chapter 271: Finally, the story is starting to get exciting. The MC seems to be in a hopeless situation with things slowly starting to unravel despite her knowing it was going to happen, so what's next? How is the author going to pull the MC out of this predicament? I need to know T_T

Update as of Chapter 191: So far, so good. The update schedule is fairly reliable, the grammar is quite good, and the story is loveable. I like... more>> reading things about food, and this brings about a nice bit of casual cookery.

I feel too biased to give this a proper review.

I have one gripe for this story aside from a few grammar slips, the released "Chapters" are too short. It makes me want to cry when I reach the end of the available reading material. The story is funny and fairly light-hearted. The reading is smooth. The grammar is passable. <<less

The premise is really amusing. I get why the ML is petty. However, it's annoying that the author only hints at the "past" or the original novel plot. The FL may have cheated and ruined his family but how did it all go down? I need to know that to understand his current self. If she really destroyed him & his family, and all his revenge is made of is childish antics, I am thoroughly disappointed. I like my vengeful regressors cold, calculating and SMART.

Now the fl. Is she smart... more>> or not? I am thoroughly confused.

  • What exactly was her job in real life? Hard worked office worker? Globe trotter? Moonlighting as a food connoisseur? Business woman?? It feels like the author picks whatever suits her to explain her talents and lack of fear.
  • I dislike transmigrators who expect plots to not diverge the most.
  • Y'all I can't explain my frustration with her choice to keep a suspicious character close (Fuyan). You expect your husband to be as the novel described but this doesn't apply to your maid?
  • Why the hell doesn't she speak up around that sleazy Xiao? Currently, that guy isn't stronger than her husband so why fear him? She has no intentions to help so why maintain interaction? Even if I was that sleaze, I would misunderstand her ambiguous actions, let alone her husband.
Anyway I feel like the plot keeps getting dumber and I can't. Dropped. <<less

TLDR; Good for making you hungry, but has weak intercharacter relationships, and the male leads are Terrible. If they were food, they would be a 5 USD package of moldy strawberries.

Enjoyable, but not something I would recommend for its plot. It best performs as a simple feel-good story about enjoying good food.
While this is story is tagged as "romance, " I firmly believe that the male lead/love interest tanked the story's quality. Frankly, all of his scenes are unpleasant, but it was fine because he's not actually a major... more>> component of the story for several chapters. Like, over 100 chapters, actually? Honestly, BOTH of the male leads in this are pretty uh... They're F-tier men.

The male lead (the one the MC is married to and sees in the beginning) has his reasons for his awful behavior, but that doesn't make him any less irritating and unpleasant-- it's possible he improves past the point I read, but like... I was 400+ chapters in. There's a line between "tormented, complex, and interesting" and "tormented, complex, and irritating" and this guy is the latter. I don't know if I would even describe him as complex. He's like a highschool bully, except he's a full grown man.
He's also just... gross. TW for assault and noncon:
Spoiler

He physically assaults her (choking her right in the first chapters!) and when they finally reunite again dozens of chapters later, he gropes her while she's asleep and feels entitled to her body. Most of the time, he's just incredibly uncharitable towards her (stealing her food, spying on her, etc) The OTHER male lead is also similarly gross, kissing her without her consent and just generally being your standard creepy yandere.

[collapse]
In regards to one thing I like about the male lead-- his family. His family (for the most part) are very sweet to MC, and it's incredibly funny how they all side-eye the male lead for his clownery.

All of the best parts of the story are when the MC is allowed to be a girlboss-- the wish-fulfillment aspect leans towards Mary-Sue writing, but presumably you're reading josei slice-of-life for the whole "Wow, this makes normal parts of my day sound so much better!" thing anyways.
Outside of the main character, I wouldn't say the MC has many strong connections to other characters. A lot of them are boiled down to "She makes good food, and she's nice" OR "I hate her!!" These shallow relationships particularly disappoint me, as I was hoping the story would feature strong female friendships. In particular, I agree with one of the other reviewers here on how one female in-law was handled.
Spoiler

Madam Zou's characterization is so bad!! MC saves Zou's life (though Zou does not know this) so I mistakenly thought it was a lead up to a heartwarming friendship, but in the end it turned into some sort of one-sided rivalry/competition!

[collapse]
Honestly, I started shipping MC with one of her lady friends, even though her personality was rather bratty. She's rather comparable to the male lead in that aspect, except she openly appreciates MC's work. Their relationship wasn't that deep either, but it's like picking out of the crab bin at a bad supermarket. Some of the crabs are just straight up dead, and the living ones are dubious in quality, but you still take them because there's no good alternative. <<less

I read the reviews so I was fully prepared for the ML and yet... I had a hope it would be funny? but he's just dumb. I don't like dumb MLs, but what I dislike more is seeing a smart MC falling for that dumb ML and trying to justify her reasons by trying to say things like "well, at least he's not as insane as this other man"... like nah, girl, you have awful taste. I get you can't turn down the marriage, but don't try to glorify a... more>> man's multiple glaring flaws just because you have to deal with him for the rest of your life. It would have been acceptable if she was shown to accept him and all his flaws, knowingly, rather than inventing excuses and twisting logic for him. So, yeah, I spared myself the disgust and I dropped this before he came back from the army.

Spoiler

I'm not talking about him hating her. I understand why he hates the OG FL but, he's just plain dumb, pathetic and childish. I don't know what would be enchanting about a man like that when he also treats you like tr*sh. I don't like when victims (in this case she is a victim even though he thinks she's the one who killed him in the past) trying to justify the actions of their aggressors before they even apologize. It sits wrong with me.

[collapse]

Unlike some other reviewers, I didn't feel anything for the "villians" though. I was prepared to be disgusted by how the author made a perfectly fine character act insane for the sake of drama but I don't know why there's people defending said character.

Spoiler

yes, the sister-in-law is decent at the start but it's not like she's SO GOOD. Instead of inta-hate as other novels, this antagonist jealousy developed slowly. By how I've read people talk about her I thought she would have an amazing build up and then fall nonsensically but she didn't. There's no reason to not believe she's as narrow-minded as she turns out to be. She's been with that family for ten years and still wants attention and praise like she was the newly added family member that was left behind by her husband. Up until I read she's BARELY criticized and when she was, she fully deserved it.

Then, I didn't read the mother-in-law turning into an antagonist but, honestly, doesn't surprise me. I can totally buy her being "kind" to her just because she thinks she'll give her the grandson she so desperately want. She gives her a restaurant that she can't get rid of for emotional reasons and it's causing her to lose her own money when she sees the MC has talent for cooking. Kindness? No, that's just finding a perfect solution for a problem you can't solve. Give it to someone else to take care of, either they succeed or not, you'll be on top

[collapse]

Anyway, it wasn't boring but... I can't stomach such a ML and an MC that tries to glorify him. So yeah, won't rate it though... as it's more a matter of preference than anything. <<less

I would have liked it better if there was no dubcon or borderline s*xual abuse.

Spoiler

Why do authors ruin perfectly good novels with terrible s*x and s*xual abuse/rape? I'll let you in on a secret, dear authors, when there's no consent it's not sexy no matter how you spin. It leaves a bad taste. There was so much wrong with the s*x. Being pervvy when she was sleeping, initiating s*x when she was sleeping, feeding her some medication with some sort of aphrodisiac without her consent, being forceful when she was reluctant and not wating to have s*x etc. Were some of the things the ML did to the poor FL.

Also, FL, sigh. She was a 20 something modern women. The author missed the mark with how she wrote her during s*x. It just doesn't fit. Being reluctant to have s*x, not wanting to have s*x doesn't make her pure. It makes anyone that tries to have s*x with her a rapist/abusive.

[collapse]

Can anyone provide some recommendations of similar books without r*pe/dubcon? Thanks is advance. <<less

Just read.

don’t listen to the 1-3 star rating comment who only read up to chapter below half (<350)

it obvious that they are just a crap that like to sh*t on some one work just because it isn’t his cup of tea

... more>> like you expecting Super OP cultivation like ED while reading this, obviously you will not get what you want

read the synopsis and the tag first you dimwit. The author obviously targeted at audience that enjoy slow building, heartwarming, and difficult romance, plus a couple extra twist with the future knowledge kind of thing. If you don’t like it just don’t like it, just stated the obvious. Don’t make it so the novel is bad just because you don’t like it.

and it was stated that the MC (if I remember correctly) was a orphan and a businesswoman who enjoy food, and because of the hard work in her previous life she want to peacefully enjoy life went she realizes she got transported to her novel with the knowledge. <<less

It started great then it went downhill from there. Too many fillers that it got extremely draggy especially towards the end that I skipped some chapters so I can get to the ending. I wanted to rage quit plenty of times but I just forced myself to at least skim through those boring chapters since I’ve already started reading it.

This by far has the most chapters among my list and made me decide never to pick novels with 500+ chapters again.

Also p I s s e d on how the... more>> MC dealt with the other guy. Makes me wanna transmigrate into the novel and slap the sh I t out of her annoying face. All in all pretty good, but during the last 100 chapters I was just so annoyed at BOTH main characters. They didn't talk properly, didn't explain things to each other and I just HATED how the FL was so submissive to ML all the time, letting him do whatever he wanted to her and forgiving him everything just like that ... more>>
Spoiler

(I was beginning to hold a grudge against him on her behalf and anticipated her smacking him thoroughly before forgiving him but NOOO... she forgave him just like that after getting an explanation of his action from a third party after he let her suffer for days because of a misunderstanding... WHYYY??!!)

[collapse]
. She is supposed to be a modern woman and she is supposed to have a strong character but there is no sight of that when it comes to the ML. Maybe it's because I was never seriously in love before that I don't understand but when reading this I wanted to yell at her to speak up for herself (I actually did that...). I just couldn't take it but the plot was interesting so I wanted to read until the end. I get why people wouldn't especially like this novel because realistically, the story have some plots that are unnecessary and annoying especially with the characters or should I say, cannon fodders.

While I was reading this, I've already considered the parts where people would like it unlikable because those parts are really, painfully, disheartening.

Specific characters will have a huge personality change and it just puts you down because they were likely close to our MC and are originally very likable.

Actually, thinking about it, I initially thought the author was trying to... more>> portray something because such things actually happen in the real world and we just can't do anything about it but its frequency in the line of events just puts it off...

Anyway, I'm rating this Five stars becuase in the end, I did enjoy reading this and no matter the outcome, as long as I was satisfied then I would definitely rate highly.

Originally, it should have been 4 for the overall. But then I thought the translator did a really good job on this and was even fun on her side notes especially with the food p*rn!! So from 4 to 4.5 rounding off to 5. Still deserves it though, honestly.

In the end, a good read gives 5 stars off me.

edit: I gotta say, it was a good move on me that I read this before reading the following novels I read after this cause if I really did read this after those, I'd have dropped this and not hesitate to leave low rating. Since i've read this before those I read after this, I couldn't help compare them and the more I read actually super great novels, the more I found this average and would have given more average rating. Anyway, I came to say that this would probably only a good read for when you got nothing more on your list. It doesn't really top it for me but at least I still do remember enjoying it. So that's that. <<less

Not the best, but not the worst either.

The premise in interesting. The earlier arcs are fun to read, they are light and entertaining. The people becoming foodies one by one, and they treat MC well as the result. The description of the foods are drool-worthy as well.

However, slowly, the plot is dragged too long it becomes boring, especially for a binge reader. Many unnecessary conflicts happened simply because the author said so. There is no progress, many mature characters surprisingly become idiots as time passes. The resolution is just meh,... more>> nothing too grand nor satisfying. <<less

quite draggy tbh. Got a bit boring after 100 chapters, and that's when I dropped it for about a year before picking it up again and binging all the way to c300+. Then I got sick of the novel and dropped it for good lol.
The romance was quite awkward because the couple didn't communicate their thoughts to one another like ever, and even when Chu Lian (FL) goes to find and save ML/sends him food/saves ML's mom's life because she knew where a certain plant she needed to cure... more>> her illness was from reading the novel, IT WAS STILL AWKWARD! Hella annoying and their relationship status was almost always stagnant and even quite shallow at times.

yes, like 99% other reviewers have said, there was a lot of inappropriate touching without CL's specific consent. They're actually basically strangers married to one another, except with one hatiNg the other lmao. So yeah that kinda made me feel weirded out.

suggest reading to c150 max because after that it kinda just goes downhill lol :/

excellent translation, as expected from volare ?? Thats actually one of the reasons I stayed aboard for so damn long lol. Twas new to the translations scene when I first started reading and only found crappy quality TL no matter where I looked, so in my desperation I took this semi-turd (wrapped in gold by volare) and swallowed it whole. <<less

Slow romance, a right-minded author, a very natural OP, various plots and adventures waiting around every corner. I've enjoyed the read and I have to say that there are not many novels I've read till chapter 600 (Especially a female-oriented reading; since I'm a male). They say a flawless novel is a perfect novel and I would've given 5 stars was it not for the following faulty.

HONEST FAULTY FOR THIS NOVEL.

Spoiler

1. Almost every single man in this novel is a meanie. A man, I refer to, is a male aside from the servants of the MC. In other words, any male described 'handsome' and 'sexy' (according to the author) enjoys pushing the MC around to the extent that I got to think that males in that universe are all mental. Examples are the third prince who throws unjust insults to the MC whenever he has the chance. MC's husband who strangled MC's neck from the first day of marriage yet demanding more attention from the MC. MC's bodyguard who abandoned the MC in such a convenient manner that as a result made the MC almost killed, and of course the antagonist who bulges out of the blue storking the MC. The MC i.s really an angel. She doesn't care to tell anyone that she is harassed! Even when the servants see the interaction (bullying), they 'put a smile on their corner of their lips' and think "Oh, madam and master is so lovey-dovey!" What are they, blind?!
2. The second factor is Deux-ex-machinas. The stories are quite forced and I can actually feel the author trying to bend the story to her convenience. For example, the servants in the story are all useless! There's a servant named Weylan (or something like that) sent to keep an eye on the MC in case the MC does something s*upid. Aside from that, the servant was sent as a bodyguard and she herself boasted that she can take up to five men and trained in martial arts. But every time the insane male antagonists do something idiotic or try to harm the MC she fails to protect the MC. But not only her, but every servant are also useless in this story! They're mere background to make all the MLs under the sun to save the day again. The world evolves around the MC to make her even more OP or more like, the author keeps the MC busy.
3. Aside from the background characters, chemistry in romance is also quite forced. The romance scenes mostly consist of the insane male leads harassing the MC. (Funny, haha.) In order to justify the unjust ML (after all what they've done) harassing the MC, the MLS comes to save the MC in every-convenient-moment he could catch. The world of fiction bends itself to give way to the MLs under the sun to save the day. Aside from that, oh yeah, the ML is very 'handsome'! On the other hand, the male leads are attracted to the MC by how well she could cook! Now of course, every normal human Isekai-ed protagonist knows thousands of secret recipes. I'm joking ㅠㅠ. Just keep in mind that this world has a mysterious force; if a male lead is within one-mile radius around the smart MC, the MC suddenly becomes a monkey doing s*upid stuff and the male lead comes to save the day.

And also, the romance scenes are boring as hell. Many readers would agree with me that there is no actual reason for our MC to like the ML, but she likes the ML because of the Deux ex makinas. She acts all wimpy and allows the ML to touch her body. Kiss her. FEEL her, erk. I couldn't care less if the scenes just turn out in every 20 chapters or so, but the ML just could't, nono, the author couldn't wait to start harrassing the FL.

All in all, I believe the author did her best to make the story interesting enough for readers to read through despite the 700 chapters but like all novels, they just couldn't follow the logic of real-life inch by inch. For example I tend to skip the moments when MLs starts to touch and FEEL the MCs body as if they are taken for granted and the MC practically drooling when she sees handsome MLs. I'm sure males would have more respect for females. Those guys practically FEEL the female protagonist for three chapters. Antagonist kisses the female protagonist during her sleep ㅇㅅㅇ

MC, , , blushes? hmm...

The story and the world construction is great but the romance scene since chapter 500 s**ked it up. The story would've been better if the author put some consideration in making the MC a bit 'less saint'. Or more like, put the ML's mind into a right state.

'Don't know if it's a difference between the view of men and women but there were times when I just couldn't understand the author. I think the romance is getting unbearable, so I'll quit now. I recommend this read for non-fantasy oriented readers who want satisfying OP experience. If you want to read, read till chapter 500. <<less

It was really a good read, I didn't skip even one chap (for once)...

Spoiler

I had to endure the ML at the start because he was bad, even though it wasn't his fault, and the only thing I took really bad was the 360° change between the female lead and the grandmother in law;

Also the ending was a bit bland it wasn't really satisfying but overall it was a pretty good read!
