It was a really good novel. I think it is comparable to Overlord in the aspect that every chapter is epic and MC surprises everyone about his strength. Ending was pretty unconventional. Nobody would have ever guessed a ending like that

I rated it 4 because I really liked the OP-badass-don't-give-f**k-villain-like MC, but the world lack continuity, and there are too many details kept in the dark.

Spoiler

Did the author forgot that they had to keep doing Dimensional battles even when the MC was on Alphen ?
(Bibi was at her castle, Jaemin was on Alphen too and couldn't use the portal as the MC wasn't there and didn't put any admin in charge [they couldn't use it when there was the big battle for this reason, so it should have been the same before])

You never see the statut windows ever again after lvl 70, nor any game-like info, even though there were present regularly in the beginning.

Familiars lvl up really fast, even more than the MC, but there were already as badass at lvl 1 than at lvl 99 (?), so it doesn't change anything...
Oh, and not-in-combat familiars (like Bibi and Kiba, 'cause they have responsabilities in other places) have all their powers at the end, even if they didn't xp like the others.

Etc.

[collapse]

At least, the characters go through changes, it's nice to see that they grow a bit.

PS. Sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker.

This is one of the best novel i've ever read my entire life. Everything about the plot, the world, the characters and mostly our MC were built really well.

I like it being a pure adventure, a lil hint of romance like non-existent is just perfect. The story progessed fast but steady, so you dont feel overwhelmed from the escalation. There were some small parts that werent explained in details but it didnt matter.

I just love the characters from this novel. From our straight forward and tyranical MC to everyone else... more>> in Alandal (Ah Sunggo my man... I rlly love him tho).

A well mixture of seriousness, a lil comedy, pure adventure are what should make this one a good read. No tryhard survival that put stress on your mind, no excessive things like romance and s*x whatsoever. I recommend this to anyone who is about to read it. <<less

Great novel, great characters, fresh MC personality.

If you need a goodie two shoes MC this isn't for you, honestly, that's just about every other novel.

MC has a slightly rude personality but from the POV of someone who stood at the peak, it's understandable.

Most of the story is him regaining his former power and the end gives him a huge power gain with very little explained but it's not like I need everything explained. I would've liked if his personal power as a necromancer grew a bit more, his skeleton troops... more>> growing stronger and more diverse instead of unlocking powerful familiars would have been nice since it seemed like his power only improved as a warrior but overall it was a great ride.

Lastly, the ending is one of the best I have read in a while, comparing it to the ending of others like coiling dragon I feel more satisfied. PS (The Melody X MC boat is the best!)

The only con is that the mc's love interest isn't given much love, I feel as if there should be another chapter or spinoff about who he ends up with because he seems closer to the ex-priestess. <<less

First - I want to say that the translation is a little bit off since there are a few mistake here and there.

Second - It was a fun read because of how the author made use of some issue of different country and view point of people. The way the author make the different concept of gaming put together is a nice touch. The story is good but you can predict how it will flow when you think it over.

The first 118 chapter I like it very much the way he dominates the earth because he is super OP and how he just causing havoc in the dungeon and easily cleared it. But then when the arc comes to the dungeon in other world and dimension about how the VR and Real world collide. It was a bit confusing but I guess that how really a novel if its forcing it to end. Ans the ending is really lacking I dont understand if its really the ending or it... more>> will have a part or side story. But kudos to the translator for finishing this novel and to the author maybe because of the budget problem he is forcing the novel to end. <<less

Let's see..

The story got out of hand rather quickly. The earlier parts were great, but the author pulled a HunterxHunter zoom out of the world, creating an incredible amount of scale, while also making readers wonder how the hell would he finish this.

Should have gone with Trahnet as big bad demon king and not as multiverse network with a will of its own. This is far too complicated for a satisfying ending, I mean MC is just one human in one world. I'm saying this because author is insisting that the MC be the shield for humanity while they're all mostly tr*sh tier in power.

Also the addition of RTS is kinda fun, but feels out of place from the dungeon grinding, which is gone in the later parts because MC is clearing them like a grocery list.

Should have been:

1. MC:Beginnings

2. MC clearing dungeons on Earth

3. Create suitable defensive line on Earth (impossible cause there is no understanding and cooperation here)

4. MC starts liberating his old fantasy world

5. Big Boss fight with Trahnet (they made him an intangible multiverse network -_-)

A good read. The first 100 chapters of this novel were some of the most interesting I've read, but the story tanked halfway and entered some funky Dungeon Hunter territory with associated plot twists. Kahng-woojin is one the most badass characters you'll read about, but I feel that quality was somewhat lost during the second half of the story.

The only reason this is even getting a 3 is because I enjoyed most of the novel... UNTIL the END. When a MC is OP he's OP but to end the final boss in such a... lackadaisical way just felt lazy. I was looking for an epic fight that I don't feel like was written. I was hoping for SOMETHING that made this feel lie the final hurrah. It's like the final fireworks the supposed biggest ones they stream up and up and you wait for that amazing flower to... more>> bloom in the air only for it to be a Dud. Something about the finally was just a let down, however besides that the story was enjoyable I don't think I would recommend unless you like steamrolls. <<less

The MC is a KING, so ignore all the f*cking reviewers with 1 star saying: "he is just a idiot". No, he is a King of other world, and he has not the strengh now, but soon he will have so thats why he acts like he dosn't care about the others, because he is superior to them.

In the early he is superior and overhelming in the late he is superior and overhelming. Whats the point on the novel? He dosn't know a sh*t about whats happpening, he just became... more>> a King cause he dosn't care about the other race. When he goes b to earth (c1) he dont change 100%, he is still a King but now he must save the family, so what if he acts like a king on earth? Whats the problem?!

Nonsense 1-2 stars reviews, just they dont care and didnt read the novel....

5 Stars no, there are better novels, it deserves 3-4* <<less

Writing quality: Good

Translation Quality: Exceptional

SSN's story is unique and interesting, not recycled like most reincarnated/game worlds. We are thrown into the story after what would essentially be the ending of any other LN. The characters aren't incredibly deep but thats par for the course in LNs.

The story has a good start. I like the story development in the beginning. I like the badass MC personality. The buildup is good... But sadly in the last part of the novel, the plot and the story development were kinda rushed. Story was compressed, that I think something can be written in two to three chapters was made and written into one. The pace was too fast, that you can feel while reading that “somethings is not right...” A novel with great beginning with so and so ending. ?

To be honest I created this account just to review about this novel (since some people decided to give a 1 star rating, which is absolute sh*t)

Contrary to what other reviewers may have said the MC actually does have some depth to him. It just isn't shown straihtforwadly unlike MDFSNSOE where the MC's monologue solves misunderstandings and show a glimpse of how the MC thinks.

The MC of SSN has a pretty deep emotional depth to him as far far as I've read. You can definitely see his burden... more>> and how it weighs on him, though the author expresses it subtly. The way the author writes gives the story a somewhat lighthearted feeling despite all the clichè massacre that happens and manages to give and imply how the MC is not as emotionless as readers may believe.

The story doesn't have much depth and background when it concerns other characters beside the MC (so far) although their characterisation is just enough to know the characters and enjoy the story without being annoyed by how little you know about them.

The translation is really good and the way the story is written is enjoyable for me.

I'm not a professional reviewer or anything of the sort, nor do I have the credibility to criticize the story. I do know, however that the story was enjoyable for me, and I am honestly recommending to give this story a chance and to expect a few flaws in the story. <<less

Okay, first of all, I haven't read a lot, just a few chapters. In these few chapters my interest was decreasing and my boredom was kept at bay. It never really stuck though. The plot is good, but it lacks a punch to it.

I know. I know. "It's unique." I know it is, but it's unique in the plot and I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about the spiciness of a story that makes you want to come back and binge until 6 am or reread over and over... more>> again until the next update...

I'm not going to rate, because I haven't read a lot. I'm just commenting to explain a few things.

It's okay. It's unique. It's different. The MC is not OP. The MC is not a Gary Stu. The plot doesn't have holes and the story is meh. I'm neutral. <<less

The premise itself is interesting, but the story would be a lot better if the MC wasn't a huge ass to everyone around him. What's worse is that he doesn't understand why people resent him after he beats them up/steals from them/insults them. He thinks that he can get away with anything without suffering any consequences, and doesn't seem to realize that he's part of a society that has rules and laws, constantly acting as if he's still living in the alternate world/hell he was transported to.

By far, the best novel on novel updates.

The autor its excellent at concretizing; the characters are very real and almost everything fits very good.

This novel is about a uncompromising hero who moves by principles and mostly thinks for himself (example: judges in terms of individuals rather than groups), and acts accordingly. Something very rare.

Principles are not completely or explicitly declared but treasuring ones life above the often misrepresented (In most Asian novels) void-developed mindless undefined collectives, and acts to trade with people capable of being good and intelligent. It's a... more>> very inspiring and refreshing contrast.

In this novel you won't see a MC rationalising or doing philosofistry but taking relentless action towards what he considers to be absolutely good.

He doesn't just tells you, he actually shows it, in a unprecedented heroic and cohesive view, on this Asian novel website.

There are some issues wi
Worth saying on this awesome Odyssey, however that's the conflict I suppose it's part of the main theme:

That so far Kang woojin is to declare his guiding principles, so far in a satisfactory way, apart from being against the initiation of force, to defend what it's important to him, on "this is what works" basis and this is redeemed by the fact that MC by no means lacks self assertion.

Not clear enough to quench my thirst for certainty, but awesomely and extraordinarily welll executed that comes from a exceptional, wanting to live the best and most fulfilling possible, honest sense of life.

and is not good at explaining his principles, however he acts very good at this implicit sense of life, of preserving and making a happy life a priority [ novel preserves cause-effect theme in a very logical and rational way ]

The fundamental problem is like what it follows from not being able to communicate and/or articulate in a very intelligible form, one's view of life and justice (what is fair) ; that wich one deserves.

The issue is central to most selfish based noves and is not that he is unable to concretize as the majority of xianxias (hence the immensity of the autor of xianxias trying to make clear something he is unable to grasp) this is not what happens to Kang woojin.

It's the inverse (so far) he had not been able to abstract what is important from his meta, the final cause HE pursuits. Or the explanation selfish actions.

I do think this novel is going to resolve this issue (hopefully) , probably on the final arc.

People (fictional media in the plot, tend to think, in the start, and diminishes as the story progresses, but it still is present) that his actions are his wims, that he is acting as his emotions dictates.

I think this novel is about making clear how to combat evil; about justice as it ought to be

MC is one of the few honest characters, that are capable to birth a feel of a hero that is complete and also capable of being human; without the needles sacrifice, being apologetic and beating around the bush of justice, and neither masquerading it like about every Japanese novel (evil is just a specific accident and the actors are not reasonable for their actions along other fallacies).

He is able to enjoy (consciously unlike most Japanese novels) happy moments that are nicely shown in the plot, and primarily as the result of treating evil as a weakling (thus shall be ignored), something not worth building your life around from or to evade; but to confront it and take the fight appropriately. Building and guiding your actions towards the ultimate good; form of justice that he is capable of thinking by himself.

No rationalization of wimpy politics here, most of what Kang woojin actions entail are what logical follows from his very clear, implicit policy; justice and fairness above ALL forms of evil. <<less

Quite short, nothing too actually delved into as of intended when coming into a short novel. Compared to a big one, that is.

More than that, it has that quality of the MC being someone uncaring or unknown of what his actions might do and still do it since it's a benefit for himself. Other than that, your typical korean-japanese work; naïve AND dense protagonist to make the humor numbers up.

Unfortunately, it has little to just superficial depth on anything in this universe, basic stats are mentioned the first couple dozens... more>> chapters for a few times and anything else is another 'this is different, but anyways it's just another bait' when it comes to 'system' tag and 'anti-hero protagonist'. As I said, to get the humor numbers up. EEeeeeh.
---
Ignoring that and poor storytelling, it's pretty much above mediocre, but nowhere near 'quite decent' when it comes to the final product...
becomes a little boring from expecting more, and you get more, more of the same old happenings to read.

Suit yourself. <<less

Finished reading this short novel after a few days. Nice premise, good background and world. Decent side characters, a problematic main character. In the end, the biggest puzzle was never explained, but a good reader can probably infer the truth from the various hints given. I like the idea, the world, the theme and a lot more, I just dont like how the author thinks he can deceive the readers too many times in a row. I read until the end because I want to, so its no issue to... more>> me, but others who cant last that long probably would complain about many things.

Spoiler

This is a total conjecture on my part. Might be spoilers and might not even be. Ggaebi, his shadow summon, might just be himself. He lost all of his memories years ago when the VR terraforming plan was started. The VR world began from the year 2010, but the real world is already at 2529, so more than 500 years has gone by since they started the project. Likely that the other Admins, or rather those who went on and made the other 70 Domain originally went against him together, because he held the Delete Code. Somehow during the chaos it was split into 6 parts, 5 parts was taken by Admins that manage Mars terraforming, while the last part remained with himself.

He starts the VR simulation as a high schooler, even though he was originally one of the researchers of the terraforming technology. Maybe he just didnt want to wait with the rest on the Moon Base. Losing his memories might have happened after the multiple resets. He was sent to Alphen by Ggaebi/Dimensional Admin in order to collect the 5 parts of his own Code scattered there, and later sent back to Earth to fix the Code. Each time he almost did it, Iellol, a fellow researcher who lost part of his own memory, would kill him and try to get the Code and the Earth key, then the Reset happens. They need both the Recovery Code and the Earth key when they Reset, otherwise there would be nobody on Earth when time was turned back.

In the end, Ggaebi fused with the Black Armor and gained pseudo Immortallity. MC that lost Ggaebi then gets logged out by the other humans. In the process, his centuries old soul from the VR world fused with his sleeping soul in the real world. He transcended from the process, merging the two together, but still lacks a portion. He apparently had already died in reality from this process. Using Trahnet, he became himself in reality. He then used the Recovery Code he has to pull VR Earth out from Trahnet, and deleted Ggaebi to recover his memories. The story stops there. The epilogue describes Mars being turned into Alphen, meaning that now both those from Earth and Alphen has people with powers. But no matter how powerful they are they still cant cross space freely, so they need spaceships.

I was about to drop this novel at 20+ chapters but it unexpectedly got good. The plot lines are super interesting and it made me not want to put the novel down. Even though I agree with other reviewers that the novel just seems like countless plot lines Mish massed together with a rushed ending, I still kinda like it. And it's still enjoyable to read. Give it a try.
