Everyone, please just read this novel your missing out on one of the greatest novels out there, And ill elaborate for that. Everything is actually good in the novel, its vastly good in fact, and you could say its top notch and the greatest, dragon among novels, the only thing that had maybe hold back people about it is some reviews or maybe just some spoilers by dickheads so read comments or reviews in your own discretion. Mine is spoiler free. I didnt read any comments or anything whilst I... more>> was reading RI cuz ive experienced somethn similar before.

NOTE THAT THE AUTHOR HAS BEEN WORKING THIS NOVEL FOR 7 WHOLE YEARS ALREADY, So you could expect a great outcome, great stories and writing, unbeliebably alive characters, also expect to get the worst possible 'fledgling state' (volume 1 up to mortal part) and the best possible latter part, 'dragon state' (immortality and beyond) What I mean By This Is How The author improved and improved along the way, and each volumes gets better and better, and I literally mean it, other fellow readers could confirm this without a doubt. And they could confirm as well that the latter part is the best part of the series, read it till there and you could perhaps understand the enthusiasm about it.

ALSO BIG NOTE that realistically every novels are flawed so if you could accept this little flaws about it you would be rewarded with something you ought to deserve.

also one last thing, more like an advice and a mix of rant is AT THE BOTTOM please read it for my elaboration about the misunderstandings about xuanhuan (wish fullfillment, harem, plot armour, lazy writing) that I often see on some reviews on this xianxia novel (Hardworking MC that also Fails [shows how life is unpredictable], Dao, Chinese, humanity, Life, every chapter tells a story, 7 years of work) it was kinda stuffy so I moved it at the bottom but I think itll be worth it to read it

Now comes for my elaboration, though id like to point out im not a good convincer, by all means, all I can do is hope you read my review and read this masterpiece. Now, as for the beginning part of the novel it starts off at the center of our MC and his ideologies, how he developed to be the great demon that he is and his way at viewing life, so you could relate in many ways in him in this essential part and the authors way of saying we are all humans flawed and imperfect and some of his experience treading on life this is where we get caught up in this world of gu and how we become them, past this world building are the great things of this novel how everyone who have read it liked it so far. The insanely good so much effort 'schemes' that fang yuan makes that sometimes fail and sometimes not (shows how life is unpredictable). Then we get to the middle parts of the novel...

(hope ive convinced you thus far cant really decide if to write all of it cuz I think ive convinced you thus far... message me if you want to read more of my review ill gladly complete it, for now I dont have anything in mind to write (largely contributed)...... will edit my review more with your message just message me for now, "happy reading")

This be the last note (not actually) if youve read bad reviews that mentioned xuanhuan on it dont bother reading them, this is a xianxia novel came from dao and chinese it doesnt include any fairies, fantasy, harem and plot armour, lazy writing on it, its straight up xianxia so expect; the MC to be hardworking, every chapters tells a story, 7 years of hardwork its not tr*sh in any way. reason why I dont want you to read reviews with word 'xuanhuan' on them is xuanhuan novels that are 'against the gods', 'peerless martial god, martial world', 'martial god asura', 'dragon-marked war god and many other overrated novels out there with those young master and harem plot armour settings on it, chances are, Those are what they typically read, the xuanhuan industry *cough* "that tr*sh actually dares oppose young master xxx" "Courting death" *'cold bloodedly' mu*dered young master* *lets it underlings escape cause theyre too fast* etc. Etc. and continues on, those kind of things are what they typically read so chances with those reviews being inaccurate is 100 percent they dont even know the basic difference between a xuanhuan and xianxia and creates reviews here on good novels lol this wish fullfilling bastards sure are everywhere (largely influenced from jp isekai novels) <<less

One of the best novels of this genre I've read (I've read most of them). I r8 8/8 m8.

-Each arc is unique and has it's own well crafted plot that touches deeply on the lore of world.

-The world building is top class, where every part of a vast world is slowly explored and made use of.

-Extremely unique cultivation system involving basically physical spirits in insect form (called Gu worms) each with unique abilities (the range of abilities are endless). They can be used used with primeval essence (this worlds most... more>> basic form of energy), combine, crafted, changed, must be fed unique things or they die, reverse crafted... etc.

-Main character is the smartest and scheming MC I've ever seen. He makes me look back to the typical righteous MCs I've seen and just shake my head. Also, all his actions are extremely reasonable, on top of being smart. I've never gotten annoyed at a choice or opinion this MC had.

A must read my friends. No BS. One thing I could see is that some people would think this novel has a slow pace. It takes time to do sh*t when you build a complicated system and world. Preparations! Other novels just have the MC keep fighting and gaining money. Going on a mission, killing these people, looting their bodies and gaining the resource at hand. IN THIS NOVEL YOU CANNOT LOOT ANY RESOURCES OFF PEOPLE YOU KILLED for the most part at least. You'll find out why my dudes.
I could on forever, about how this novel beats others in most aspects.

My eyes have been opened, I truly did not recognize Mount Tai :D

After commenting, I've read other reviews and a lot complain about how this guy is evil. The whole point is that good and evil don't exist. Only benefits. He is the epitome of the demonic path, not restrained by any societal morals. It literally explains how on earth people are tied together and have societal expectations or morals of each because it's impossible to live without each other. In this world you can dominate the world if you're strong enough. If you want a hero to do random sh*t for people and girls cuz of 'justice' there are tons of other novels for you. Personally, I get pissed when MCs do that. Although this is heavily skewed away from doing such things, the author makes it work with the abilities and setting. Let go of your earthly moral bias, and enjoy this MCs demonic path ways. <<less

This novel is good. This novel is so good that I dropped it twice (early & 3rd Volume) only to have continued to read it. The protagonist is evil yes, the author doesn't care a single dust to what others thinks about his novel. Then by Volume 5:

Spoiler

When all sh*ts going wrong for him. When he is marked for death by literally the entire world. When he suffers defeats more often than victory. And when you learn his past, his unrequited love, and what he has gone through in his previous life, you really can't help but to root for this guy. His tenacity and perseverance doesn't came for no reason or some BS cliches (protecting/revenging clan/family bla bla), but towards his selfish pursuit of eternal life. No things or any others can sway his mind.

[collapse]

Plot is unpredictable, but can be boring sometimes only to have it masterfully interwined together and becomes a huge plot twists. There is also some nice comedy along the way, seeing the MC conned a variety of people really makes one laugh imo. Characterization is probably the most strong aspect of this novel, it portrays how much length an immoral person has sunk to and how much moral an upright person has, even the history itself (e.g Human Ancestor) can become a fantastic storytelling if executed well, which this story has.

Really recommend this novel, and even when you can't stomach the story itself, I suggest endure it for atleast a dozens or so chapter, that is probably when the story shines. <<less

Thought about writing a review for this around ~ ch 200, saying it was hidden gem. Really loved it.

Got to chapter ~405, end of book 2, this is now one of my top 3 favorite novels.

I would say there were some dull moments ~ch 300, but it all connects later, like always. Why did I even doubt.

I love that this novel is not predictable, not even the, oh it'll just happen the opposite of what he expects blah blah, but actual reversals of what you were imagining. Yet, it still... more>> connects, especially with the "fables" included in the story.

Solid 5/5 <<less

It's a good novel. Nothing more, nothing less.

The cultivation system in this novel is new but a bit boring. The characters too are a bit 2 dimensional. You will have a hard time understanding and enjoying the characters.

The MC is not evil but anti-hero and a nasty one at that. Some will love him but some (like me) will not be able to absorb him.

... more>> He is so focused on his belief of not trusting anybody and doing everything himself that it feels a bit (a lot) childish.

Read this novel if you want a different experience of the cultivation genre. <<less

Fang Yuan is evil. Really, really evil. It's still an enjoyable tale, even as he sacrifices a second and third child as ingredients (so far...). Not to mention all of the people of all ages he exploits and slaughters, just going about his daily business. Did the 'doomed' ones, who were already fated to die... did they really count as victims, anyway? There's definitely a blurry line between the righteous factions and the demonic practitioners in this world, whenever they interact in the story. Apparently the only thing that makes... more>> someone 'righteous' in the world of this story is being part of a big team of people who work together, to do all the same awful things as the 'demonic' individuals.

So perhaps Fang Yuan just 'well adjusted' in this world.

Anyway, fun read. Plenty of action. Plenty of sinister twists... though mainly coming from Fang Yuan. <<less

This novel is amazing! Our MC is not OP, he has an average body (rank C while others are rank B or A) but has 500 years worth of experience and the rank 6 gu with him. This is not bullsh*t since this rank 6 gu is the result of his hardwork.

The pace is slow but this shows the MC's hardships despite his "cheat" since his body is still rank C ... more>>
Spoiler

later he turns to rank A at the end of volume 1

And at the end, arghh ??
Spoiler

I really thought Bai Ning Ning would die for the third time! Yes, he died twice. First is in MC's first life then the second time when he sacrificed himself for the MC to live. I thought he will die the third time when the MC asked him to die again.

I almost thought that the MC is heartless to the point of no return but that is not actually the case. <<less

Reverend Insanity/Gu Daoist Master is a novel that excellently executes an anti-hero MC.

Fang Yuan is a ruthless and cunning MC that throws away the concepts of justice and morals in order to obtain immortality. This is his ultimate goal, and he legitimately does not give a sh*t for anything else. He's an apathetic man, and he cares not for revenge or being nice unless it helps fast forwards his goal. 500 years of shitty memories has pretty much made him into a sociopath.

This is very unique compared to the typical... more>> xianxia stories. This protagonist is one of the few that are openly selfish and cruel, yet it still manages to make him a charming person because of it.

Keep in mind though that this story involves a lot of politics. The biggest reason why Fang Yuan is so skin tough is because he's been screwed over by political bullsh*t in the past, so you will no doubt see a lot of pragmatic and scheming side characters in each chapter. Also, there's some philosophical ramble and some gore that can last a chapter or so. If you can handle that, this is a refreshing read. <<less

Bad points:

The MC is too selfish and evil for my taste. He does not love, nor care about anyone, like the 500 year old dude he is. While this is good in short term, I have no plans of reading hundreds of chapters focusing only on the MC and disregarding all characters.

As far as I know, all characters are either pawns, cannon fodders and enemies.

... more>> As some reviews has said: this is not some anti-hero shit.

The MC is your typical evil villan mastermind.

Good points:

Once you have pass the bad points, this novel is actually good. They uses witts and logic. The world building is commendable. Although side characters are meant to be discarded, the author showed their personalities and characteristics (unlike random arogant young masters in novels of most CN). <<less

I have always been waiting for a novel like this and I am happy to finally find one where doesn't give a sh*t about responsibility and women.

I don't mean to say that regular re-birth novels are crap where MC dies with regrets and after rebirth they use their knowledge to turn things around by saying he suddenly got a secret master who taught him invincible skills and taking a chick from each place and becoming a hero but they are boring as most of the novels contain the same plot.

But this is almost opposite of the above paragraph as MC only changes himself and maintain it as a secret without bullshitting.

THE MAIN THING I LIKE ABOUT THIS NOVEL IS THAT THE MC ONLY CARES ABOUT POWER. <<less

One thing to say - to all who loves Warlock of the Magus World, come here to find a journey after leylin's end. And believe me, the two share the same traits that make them awesome, but remain distinct that keeps each other as unique mc's, and to add on, both have an amazingly detailed and well used world filled with well written and given background knowledge, where nearly everything is relevant in it's details. The execution might be a breath of fresh air to others and yes, it ends up better than most cliché CN novels, but he's no different from other "evil" main characters.

The author wants to show that the MC is smart, deceitful, and always calm but because of that he acts distant and cold to others.

He'll do anything as long as it could get him advantage, even if he "offend" others, but no one could punish him because he "acts within consideration".

He'll still kill those who offend him or those who... more>> are threat to him without second thoughts. (If they have no significant background, kill 'em. If there is, do it sneakily.)

In the end, it's just the author giving the MC excuses to justify his actions.

At least most of the antagonists at least have brains. Though still not all of them, there are still some characters that only exists for a brief moment to antagonize the MC and die after the next few chapters. But meh, you can't expect for there not to be a stereotypical chinese novel villain when the very word "chinese" is attached to it. <<less

You have to have a high IQ to understand how good this work is.

Forget about world-building, cultivation, all of that is irrelevant, or rather, not the main thing.

The most important one is Fang Yuan. The author packed several ideas into this character, the MC is very interesting.

... more>> Gu Zhen Ren used this book to show all the dynamics of control that society imposes on the individual. I would say that he presents the Gu world and the MC as two absolute opposites.

Fang Yuan is a pure representation of the concept of individuality while the Gu world is the representation of society.

In book 1 he explained how the political system worked and how it controlled the nature of the average citizen. He was criticizing governments in general, but especially the Chinese. Various domination mechanisms were shown through Fang Yuan's thoughts. All of this can be abstracted to real life.

In book 2, he begins a more philosophical journey, especially when he talks about the ups and downs of MC's life, which went from s*ave to businessman, from businessman to servant and from genius to tr*sh. These experiences showed in the work that regardless of your potential, as long as you have the will you can achieve what you want. Even if you have shitty talent, what differentiates ordinary individuals from extraordinary ones is will.

In book 3 the clash between the individual and society is now resumed. The author uses several hidden plots to teach readers lessons.

If you read the legends of Ren Zu, you realized that this was not a random bullshit.

The dream realm was also the same. You can gain many insights by reading this book, you will see deep psychological dynamics illustrated in each character.

Read this with a pinch of salt. I have never seen something in any other Chinese novel. <<less

In merely 100 chapters, from 1160 to 1260, I went from thinking this was the best novel I've ever read to hating every following word I read.

This novel has enough praises, read any other review to see why this is a fantastic book. It is a fantastic book, but there is one single situation that makes it difficult for me to continue reading. I will be briefly describing it here. Spoilers ahead of course.

Spoiler

The main character has the opposite of plot armor the entire book. He is incredibly unlucky constantly, and that is initially explained by saying it is the side effect of Spring Autumn Cicada. However, he now has "amazing" luck apparently, even using an "extremely powerful" luck immortal gu to raise his luck. It makes no difference. If you want to see a main character that succeeds, this is not the book for you. He fails at everything. It is to the point that if I see a good thing get introduced I know that the main character will not be getting it.

However, there was one single exception to this. That was the Sovereign Immortal Fetus Gu. This gu allows him to reshape his aperture, gain enormous potential, and make up for every other missed opportunity he has seen. The novel built up to this single Gu for over a thousand chapters.

Now, onto the situation.

So, the main character wants to gain strength quickly so his enemies don’t overpower him. He is worried that they will grow stronger than him if he gives them enough time. This is already baseless, as he has dozens of times the potential of them and simply letting time pass would allow him to get astronomically stronger than them.

The main character decides f*ck that, he wants to rank up to rank 7. The reason given is that he will get more potent immortal essence and be able to do prolonged battles more easily.

First of all, he easily did a battle lasting more than a week straight without putting him in a bad situation. That is the most extended a battle has ever been in this novel by far. Like by multiple times. So there is literally no reason for him to even worry about that.

Secondly, and more importantly, he can completely make up the difference in immortal essence through money. Immortal essence stones = immortal essence. He stated numerous, numerous times at this point in the novel that he was extremely wealthy and was getting wealthier by the minute. There is literally no reason for him to want to get to rank 7 as he has zero need for it. The only increase in battle strength gained would be the more potent immortal essence but he doesn’t need it.

But, whatever. Doesn’t matter. Main character wants to get to rank 7, then whatever. Right? Wrong.

The main character has 3 options at this point.

Give up on s*upidly attempting to raise his “strength” by getting to rank 7 as it literally doesn’t raise his strength. Instead, speed up the immortal aperture’s time flow and raise the heavenly eagle to rank 8. He has 720 years of lifespan gu as well, so he could easily bond with it for like 50 years and have it be super loyal. The time in the outside world would be minimal. He would gain a ton of immediate combat strength and still preserve his continuing advantage through his natural potential in this method. Though frankly, he doesn't even need to do this. Just by living he will be progressing at a faster pace than them.

Get to rank 7 by progressing the speed of time in his immortal aperture. This would allow him to face numerous calamities and tribulations in a row, rapidly gain strength, and become rank 7 in like a single day. Additionally, this rank 7 wouldn’t just be shallow and provide only better immortal essence. He would be the best among the best rank 7s. An overlord who can fight head-to-head with rank 8s. There's no need to even stop there. He can continue progressing through rank 7, then rank 8, he could literally become rank 9 in like a week if he wanted to. The only concern that might be had is “he isn’t strong enough to undergo all of these tribulations.” You are correct that he cannot immediately face off against a myriad tribulation. But by the time he gets to a myriad tribulation, he would be able to! By progressing through tribulations he can gain strength immensely quickly because of the potency of heaven’s attacks. He could easily sweep the hardest myriad tribulation that could possibly be thrown at him. f*ck, he could probably fight rank 9s with his rank 8 body, a feat that no one has ever done before. All in ONE WEEK. Or...

He can consume other people’s immortal apertures. This will rapidly help him progress to rank 7 realm. It will just take, idk, a month. This will also make him skip all of his calamities and tribulations so no worries there! Oh, wait. Now that he is skipping all of his calamities and tribulations, by the time he gets to rank 7 realm he will have ZERO gain in strength. The only gain will be from having more immortal essence, which, again, means NOTHING since it can be replenished with money, which he has an abundance of. It also completely f*cks up his future because the gains that he missed now will never be able to be regained. The author tried to say some bullsh*t like “he gains more dao marks from immortal apertures that he devours.” No, he f*cking doesn't. That's only comparative to other people. In his own situation, a single devoured aperture gives him about 7000 dao marks and progresses him past 4 tribulations. This is lowballing it because I'm not counting heavenly tribulations btw. So, in those 4 tribulations, he would gain approximately 10000 each time. Yeah, you heard that right. He becomes weaker, it takes longer, it's more difficult to accomplish, it ruins his future potential, it gives him a lower immediate effect, etc, etc, etc. This is literally the worst possible decision he could have ever made. This is probably the most impactful decision in the entire story at this point. It completely f*cks up the gains he got from the past 1000 chapters and ruins his future gains as well.

The worst thing is that the author clearly has gotten too far. He realized that his main character was too good and was getting too strong so he made the main character ret*rded and made his strength obsolete. Most of the time I would say whatever, like the main character will get strong later anyways. But we were building to this for one THOUSAND chapters. I spent weeks reading the accumulation until this point all to have it thrown away on a f*cking whim. It is so s*upid and aggravating I am actually considering dropping the novel here.

This is only the first part of the situation. Second of all, the main character has a constant pestering enemy. One that shouldn't exist in the first place, shouldn't exist now, and shouldn't exist in the future but still persists. I'll explain.

The enemy shouldn't exist in the first place because his escape from Southern Border was based upon his usage of Fang Yuan's Fixed Immortal Travel. That should NOT be how using lent gu works. Throughout the novel, dozens of times the author repeats how gu is not easily stolen. How the owner can destroy it with a single thought. Now, suddenly, 1000 chapters in the author changes his mind. For some reason, he can take Fang Yuan's gu and use it. Whatever.

But this enemy won't f*cking go away. The main character interacts with him so much, proclaiming that he wants him dead a dozen times. Then the main character goes over and finds him and the enemy runs away. Main character can't chase for whatever s*upid reason the author cooks up, and this scene will repeat again in 20 chapters.

This wouldn't be AS frustrating if it actually made sense. If it was just a smart enemy facing Fang Yuan, then whatever. But it isn't. This enemy is CLAD in plot armor. So much plot armor you would never believe it. The author straight up forgets the plot when working around the plot armor of this guy. Like, for example, the characters would be fighting in the sky, above an ocean, and one of the enemy's lackeys pulls the earth from the ground and defends against the main character. They are in the SKY above an OCEAN. Even if he can do that, which he shouldn't be able to, how can he do it so quickly that it surpasses the speed Fang Yuan attacked? Did he pull the earth up with light speed?

Then the main character fights them and instead of like going around the wall or targeting one point in the wall or using a strong move to break through the wall, he slowly chips away at the way, layer by layer. He doesn't poke a hole in it, he starts destroying the whole wall. Why??

Then, predictably, the enemy gets away again after some more boring terrible unrealistic plot-armory fight scenes. It reads horribly, seeing how the author straight up doesn't care about the rules of his novel anymore. He just makes stuff up and it suddenly works because it is the enemy doing it. The novel feels increasingly shallow with this total disregard for reality. To see this from my perspective, imagine watching a horror movie where the characters are constantly breaking the fourth wall. It totally ruins the immersion and the world that has been built. Every conflict that does happen will feel fake.

Also, this isn't even the worst part of the novel atp for me. It is the insane amount of background characters and how much the author focuses on them. In the past maybe 20 chapters only about 2 have been about the main character. The other chapters have been following background characters completely unrelated to the plot. Like people who have zero influence on the story. The entire 18 chapters dedicated to them could be summed up in a single sentence and it would have the same impact on the story.

All I want is to be able to trudge through this part of the book where this enemy is being annoying and get back to the realism but it is taking hundreds and hundreds of chapters because of this. It is to the point where I feel like I'm going to catch up to chapter 2300 whatever and this guy will still be around. I am so sick of it.

[collapse]

Despite the essay I just wrote b*tching about the novel, I still gave it 5 stars. For the first thousand chapters, I absolutely loved this book. I am also going to continue reading this book. I just had to get this frustration out of me and writing a review was the easiest way. I'll update this review when I finish it. <<less

  • I read 850 chapter bat I don't want to read it anymore I read some good review and I agree with them but some people say this novel is a Masterpiece but I don't think so

Be because This novel MC is Very arrogant but I don't think that he have the capital to be arrogant

This novel MC saying he will fight against the heaven he says he look down human emotions bat he is very greedy for power and immortality And greed also a part of human emotion. And he

always offend people for benefit and no one can do anything to him he almost died to Times and by the help of heavens he get revive then it's heaven don't help him then does he have the qualification to tell that he wants fight against the heaven and rule the world, and what right do he have. End of the day is MC character is very mediocar like other novel.

I think I am the fated villain is much more better then is novel at least I am fadedi am the fated villain MC have the capital to be arrogant and and also have a heuse background that all cultivator scare of. And this novel MC don't have any heuse background he Reliance on his previous 500 years of life experience but I am the fated villain MC have a million years of life experience.

I love to read evil MC novel bat I don't like novel who don't have any capital to be arrogant about but he still act arrogant like is he is a God of the world he can do anything and no one can stop him.

  • and if any one disagree with me then go read I am the fated villain all chapters then come back to reply
  • But this novel cultivator system is very good and this novel all character settings, theme also very good but if you tell MC that is good at skimming then I just disagree with you. He just know how to take it advantage of a good opportunity and maximize is benefit.
  • And If you see any bad reviews then I agree with 70% of them and if you see any good reviews then I agree with 30% of them 2.
  • One month later

TLDR: If you enjoy reading or at least want to try reading selfish people do horrible things to each other, you will probably derive some enjoyment from this book.

I don’t really regret reading what I’ve read so far because I did enjoy my time with Fang Yuan, a pretty unique MC, and I was able to get to chapter 550 in the first place. However, I’m not willing to go further.

As for why, the biggest issue by far is that the whole novel is tedious to read. In comparison to... more>> other novels I’ve read, RI already has very high word count for each chapter, and this is exacerbated by the fact that many explanations and dialogue are repeated over and over. In general though, there are so many unneeded sentences to the point where I genuinely feel like 100 chapters could be cut out from the 550 I read without any issues.

Characterization is also pretty weak. Certain character archetypes get recycled over and over, and after each iteration of an archetype reenacts the same actions as their predecessors, Fang Yuan screws over those characters using very similar methods. Also, because most side characters aren’t interesting, I didn’t care about their backstories or most other things they did outside of combat, which further adds to the tedium of reading. <<less

This novel is one of the first novel I have read and yes it didn't disappoint me

But I think like other Chinese novels there is no realms here that make the world kinda small

In this type of novel I think if he have little bit romance and many realms then it is perfect.

Conclusion - good novel but for me world is small it can be bigger if I think now, it is is now almost a year after reading this novel so my thinking has changed ater reading big world... more>> novel, this novel doesn't feel that great now for me but at that time when I am new in novel reading this is one of best and still there is a place for this novel in my heart. Worth to read

I have not wasted my time, I can say on this novel it is worthy of my time <<less

This novel taught me a lot of things... There are lot of philosophical talks here. The MC is morally twisted...a rational lunatic, he could sacrifice everything if it's is something that will benefit him. The villains are smart.. This novel has long chapters.

This novel is something else. I will give it credit where it’s due. The MC is a great character. But, boy is this a slog of a read. The only people giving this a 5 must be edgy teens. There is so much filler it’s insane. And not just chapter filler. But entire arc filler.

nothing has consequence only set backs when he can turn back time. And since he dosnt care for side characters much. Then losing them is not a consequence either.

the MC is the only saving grace. It’s... more>> all “slapping young lord” but worded differently, no real stakes and too much filler. <<less
