I am the best when it comes to taking divergent paths. With just a flip of my hand, I shall take the path less commonly travelled. I search far and wide, only to find myself unbeatable and unrivaled. So now I ask, who else can match my awesomeness?

Acting tough is second nature to me and I am a lone wolf.

The road is long and winding but I shan’t feel lonely as long as I am able to act tough!

Life and death bore me and I do whatever I deem fit.

“Young man, way back when I started acting tough, you were still learning how to put on your underpants!” Xu Que thus decided to take the path of acting tough. He decided to act tough every single god-damned day. If he wasn’t acting tough, he was scheming for the best way to act tough!

Never in my life I have been so disappointed with any novel.

This novel started good. With some interesting ideas. We had a shameless MC, a good cheat system, everything that was needed to make a plot was here.

But author fked it up. Let's start with the unnecessary fillers that author gives us. Story is fillers after fillers with no plot progression. Author will waste chapters upon chapters just writing random people reaction. He will write the jokes which are not so funny, and recycle those jokes later in the... more>> story.

Let's come to the first arc that is the fire nation arc (chapter 190-250+) where he will take the revenge for the previous body owner. It's so fking filled with fillers that it will take him 70+ chapters to kill the emperor. Wanna know why? Because the author will write useless shiits. Chapters upon chapters where absolutely nothing happens. The same with later arcs where nothing major happens.

Now let's come to the power levels and progression.

He will power up when the author needs him, otherwise he will stay in the same boundary. The prime example is - The author waste 210+ chapters fillers. He did not level up "once" in those TWO HUNDRED chapters.

Let's come to characters and their development. Every girl is fking soggy bread who is suffering from paralysis and cannot say more than 4 lines.

The MC. Oh my god the MC. He is so fking arrogant. If not for his cheat, he would have died over a million times. The plot armor is so fking strong that it's just disgusting. He is self centered and kills thousand and thousand of people without batting an eye. Just like your Chu Fang.

The racism in this novel is so bad. The MC being a "GREAT CHINESE" he is will say these -

South Korea is shiit, South Korea is bad. Indians dancing like monkey.

In the later part of story, there was a guy named 'South Korea'. So the MC beats him up for Absolute NO reason at all. And then forced him to change his name to 'Great China'. He told him that South Korea is shiit. Why? Just why? What was the point of even doing it? You are a cultivator who is reborn, so you should had no relationship with the earth once you start a new journey.

Ever tried shiiting in the toilet when there's already shiit? How are you gonna take a dump when you haven't flushed the previous one?

Even after all these I read the novel till chapter 797. But the shiit author did in these 600-750 chapters was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Spoiler

He introduced cell phones in the story. So the MC can now chat and call his earth friends. YAAAAY...

So the MC started chatting with his friends and sent them video and photos of the place he was staying at.

I have no idea what the author was even trying to do there.

In my opinion, modern setting and gadgets in a cultivation novel Kills the whole environment of the story.

I was so fking disappointed reading it.

[collapse]

In the end, this novel is not worth your time. It may start off good, but quickly degenerate into the cliche shiit, and worse writing.

Please avoid at all cost, unless you wanna lose some brain cells and spurt 3 litres of blood every chapter.

Edit - My fking god. I read it to later chapters and it only get worse.

Remember the first objective of MC?

To revive the chick using five elements, guess what.

Spoiler

He went to a seprate realm, and there he meet the person, the so called teacher whose name he was using to save his sorry ass.

Not only the MC acted extremly arrogantly in front of him, he didnt even give him respect and asked for remaining elements roots.

Now he got all the elements and its time to revive her.

In that place there is an immortal lady who is in sleep cause she is cultivating like that, MC goes to her house and try to touch her body, but he cant as she is protected by her own spells. So the MC uses an item on her which will make her marry him by altering her fate.

This kind of behaviour from MC proves that he is not less than any other 3rd rate villain out there.

Now the MC put all the elements in her house to make a new body for the girl, and left it there for more than a year, cause thats how long will it take to reform the new body.

After one year MC is back, so you should be expecting some sweet moments between her and mc?

NOPE b*tch.

The girl now has a super ultra indescribable legendary perfect "Five elements body" found once in a quadrillion years. So the immortal lady took a liking for her and took as disciple.

The MC didnt even get to talk to her. Fking waste of the thing that was driving the plot.

[collapse]

Oh and not to mention the MC acts like a smart person but is the biggest ret*rd out there.

He doesn't use his points to level up his system, and then cries later on because he is so powerless.

Oh and he also destroy his cultivation because he killed many people and have heavy killing intent which make it impossible for him to advance to next lvl.

I am regretting why the fk I ever read it.

Very funny. This novel is Emperor's Domination without the endless foreplay before the MC finally makes his move. Since the MC gains strength by acting tough, he does it every time even when he is actually weaker.

Spoiler

He will curse at the Heavens and even at Gods (who actually exist and have their own will) although his cultivation base is as low as Golden Core Stage or Nascent Soul Stage. This actually makes his Heavenly Tribulation difficulty increase.

[collapse]

The current translations are not bad but the realms' names are really weird. It seems that the translators never read any big xianxia novel with terms like Nascent Soul or Core Formation. They actually chose Core Bearing and Original Infant Stage... I can get used to Core Bearing but Original Infant is hard to swallow.

Anyway, give this novel try, you might like it. <<less

Well, after several years, I finally got to finish this novel. It was a pretty funny ride with the shamelessness of the protagonist being the focal point. It started out quite strong, especially after the first few mu*derous rampages from the MC when he stops focusing on killing. The earth arc around chapter 900-950 can be skipped due to pretty bad racism for 15-20 of those chapters, though the time he spends in china with his former friends and so on could be interesting to read. I highly recommend you... more>> only read up until chapter 1566 when the official translation ends and the author went on a hiatus due to censoring, the rest isn't really worth reading and it just leaves lots of things unresolved for a very unsatisfactory ending.

This novel isn't for everyone, the MC and his team are as*holes to put it lightly and that's what makes it fun. If you can't stand a morally bankrupt protagonist, don't read this. It's a fairly dark comedy gag novel where nothing can be seen as even slightly serious and you should read it with that in mind. Screwing others over, tricking them, being generally OP with no real effort and being generally shameless is 99% of this novel.

The worst part of this novel is easily everything after chapter 1566. It stopped being that interesting and creative and just became kind of dull to read, although still somewhat enjoyable at least for most of the remaining chapters, but the end was incredibly rushed and it went from probably needing at least 500-1000 more chapters to the end to being pretty much axed/dropped where the author spent about 10 chapters to quickly gloss over one last event and then summarizing some stuff in a few short paragraphs and then a short afterstory of one hundred thousand years later that didn't explain anything either. It one of the most sudden endings in any novel I've read. It wasn't that unexpected since the author was being censored and had to change his novel and lost all passion for it around 1560 chapters in, so after that he just tried to finish it out of obligation and then likely just lost all desire to continue and simply ended it in a very rough way.

So, just take this as a fun gag novel and do not expect any plot points to matter at all, it's a really funny read after all. Just don't expect any story or conclusions.

Spoiler

Even the biggest plot points got no conclusion or wrap up. Xiao rou, after 1900 chapters of build up, just gets bunched in with everyone else and it seems all his girls are pregnant after several hundred years. We never get to read about his offspring. Despite being a main plot point, she doesn't even get a single chapter after he saves her where they reunite, he just retrieves her and then time skips several hundred years. The chaotic green lotus in his body was a huge plot point, but it stopped developing completely at around chapter 1560. His holy physique was supposed to matter, he never even got the first rate version. The system kinda stopped mattering much after he became and immortal, then revived for a short period of a few dozen chapters and then started being useless again for the rest of the story and completely outdated because he never upgraded it, he just got stuck at intermediate experience points and the feature of him leveling up with it, despite reviving for a few chapters, just disappeared again, as did all the systems other features that supposedly was activated. The emperor realm wasn't really explained and we never got to see the spiritual gods or god realm that had some major build up and hints.

Buttface/ergouzi didn't ever end up becoming a dragon and we never got to know what that was even about. The MC never got to become good at all the different professions. He never fulfilled his dao, it kinda also stopped after the author's break. We never got to know the system's origin, it's not even mentioned in the after story. His girls have some build up at the start but after that they're merely background characters. The supposed weird monkey in the heaven palace academy that stole things right before they entered the vault never showed up again. The divine stone that kept cursing at the MC never got explained. The heavenly book of taiyi never mattered again after the first of many relationship tribulations.

There are endless plot holes and plotlines that just ended abruptly, in some way I kind of believe it would've been better if the author didn't force himself to continue the novel and just ended it at chapter 1566 as a dropped novel, the rest of the chapters didn't add much and just left disappointment at the end after raising expectations. At most, I guess it's nice to know that it's officially over and the novel is "done", if we can call it that.

older reviews, no real point in looking at it unless you're bored

Spoiler

This novel is a special one. It ends up being very difficult to read for a while and every now and then, the author throws in stuff that will repulse most readers. I feel that if people went into this knowing exactly what to expect, they would be able to enjoy it way more. It's s*upid in so many ways, it's a novel where the author doesn't think for sh*t and doesn't care how far he goes to make things silly, sometimes even juvenile. But I believe it's supposed to be that way. While this novel could've been so much better if the author was a bit more competent, skipped a lot of the filler and wrote it to be less annoying at times, I still feel it's somehow worth 4/5 out of the sheer enjoyment I've derived from it. I agree with many of the reviewers bashing this, yet I keep on reading it, I keep on picking it up every now and then for some mindless fun. While it fails at many things, it never fails to be consistent in "quality" if we can call it that, it'll always stay the same and if you don't bulk read all of it at once, it's quite a good time killer and you're sure to laugh a few times unless this kind of comedy just doesn't tickle your funny bone at all, in which case you should proceed to stay as far away as possible because this isn't for you.

Let me tell you a little about what this story's about and what you need to do to enjoy it. Seems it on an hiatus with just a few more chapters than I've read release, so I don't know if it ever will be finished. As there will be a few spoilers, I'll just keep it all within a spoiler bubble.

Spoiler

While reading this, I've always wondered if the author just used this novel to vent stress. It has all the immature and random stuff you could imagine, the story is kind of abysmal, the overall plot is ridiculous and it all comes across as a huge joke.

At first, I found it amusing but was quickly pissed off at the first harem member introduced. A worthless village girl who picked him up and "saved him (lol) " at the start of the story. As readers, we literally get no exposition to her. She might as well have been a rock, she's just shy and runs away all the time, he spends at most a short time with her and a few days later, he leaves and she's killed, but he's so damn pissed about it as if they were long time lovers or something. So, he goes on a damn rampage and slaughters an entire sect because one or two people did something wrong. Sure, who cares, but what pisses me off is that the author makes that girl his entire initial motivation! He somehow manages to retrieve her soul and wants to resurrect her as an extreme powerhouse, so he challenges a few countries and steals their foundations. That's when his ridiculously bloody first journey begins, he kills people for exp, he taunts them just so one of them attacks him out of rage and then proceeds to kill their 18 generations. He kills for fun, which ticked me off a lot. One has to know that it gets better later on though. When he finally finishes looting those countries, it's after a while time to resurrect her, so he places her at a place to resurrect, then she happens to be found by a powerhouse who takes her as a disciple so he can't really meet her at all after going through endless struggles to save her. Well, typical of xianxia. Then she disappears along with the entire place she was in and guess what? We get to know that she somehow became a supreme powerhouse, one of the most talented ever, even the MC almost pales in comparison, and she somehow directly ascended to a way higher realm where she's oh-so-valued and now their sect wants to kill the MC because he might affect her negatively (lol). And she lost all memories of the mc! Funny. Probably wants to marry her away as well. This happens around 1400+ chapters into the novel. ridiculous, will probably not meet her before a few hundred chapters more passes. So don't expect anything out of that and you might as well just forget she exists, it's better that way, she's hardly ever mentioned anyway.

Okay, so that is the first annoying part. Then we have the mc's often immature attempts at humor. He'll literally do anything, no matter how s*upid... and I have to plead guilty for enjoying this. It's immature, but often quite hilarious. Everything from displaying various skills and faceslapping to cooking up weird sh*t (literally) and showing off in every way possible. Posing as his own father and tricking people shamelessly while pretending to be pissed about his own shamelessness isn't beyond him. Deceiving people for shits and giggles is the daily course and the mc's own team are pretty much similar scoundrels to himself, not rarely will they proceed to steal stuff from eachother or poison the other people in their team to get an edge in, there's hardly any team spirit here. Also plenty of scenes like taking off his clothes to go surfing in a dangerous secret realm in front of countless prude cultivators, seriously, this guy will do everything to act cool and never consider any consequences. The title "ultimate scheming system" is more about the system itself rather than him, the system loves screwing with him and scheme a little against him, although it will always help out in the end. The MC isn't kind at all to the system though, once he borrowed a lot of points from the system to buy something and completely refuses to pay back what he borrowed even if he can. Ends up with the system calling on "loan sharks" in the form of heavenly tribulation to force him to pay back, but he ends up destroying them and still refusing to pay up. Things even get that ridiculous. Heavenly tribulation fears him as he'll always absorb it, demand more and chase after it as it tries to escape. In other words, completely ridiculous, something like a gag manga in novel format. So while often annoying, it can also be hilarious, he's very immature though so keep that in mind and just enjoy it.

Next up would be his harem members. He loves flirting with girls but at the end of the day, they will all disappear. Even if they accompany him every now and then, it's just to stay in the background and be pretty ornaments to be protected, they never really help out. They're simply burdens. I guess it wouldn't be "cool" to be helped by his harem members, right? Well, they also get separated all the time, often for no reason, so they're barely even present in the story. They're, in essence, worthless additions there to show the MC is awesome and that he can score some. Other than that, they will just be somewhere far in the background where we can't even see them, every now and then arriving to keep him company for a while before disappearing again, maybe they'll also end up being motivation now and then by being in danger or almost married off to someone else forcibly. You know, the usual. By the way, you know his sister which he went back to earth to bring with him? Yeeeeah, she's a ghost member as well. As soon as they got back to the cultivation world she enters the main wife's new treasure with a secret space and ends up never coming out again in several hundred chapters. Still haven't seen her at all. Somehow, in an utterly ridiculously random and f*cked up "coincidence", the dumb chick who was kinda the cause of the mc's death on earth who he abandoned back there while returning to the cultivation world SOMEHOW made it into the cultivation world (lol) and ended up getting an OP master, while the MC refuses to take her hand or anything, he forgives her from all past matters, protects her and gives her some opportunities. Not that she actually matters as she's pretty much never heard from again. So, women are a big flaw, but just ignore them because they will never matter, never interfer with the story and are there just to be pretty ornaments. Usually it's just the MC + one or two other scoundrels.

One thing that many people hated was the modern day items that he can buy. I was also pissed off, especially at the cellphone and him making a movie part (just a few short chapters of content for that). The modern day items are just there for him to act cool and screw around, there is actually no importance put into it. They're only really relevant until the earth arc and hardly even then, any earth items become utterly worthless after a while and he'll never summon any again, except maybe some very rare cases. The modern items will never be important in the story, they're there for sh*t and giggles and abandoned soon enough. He also never keeps contact with people on earth even after getting the cellphone, guess the author realized it was a s*upid idea. So, just don't mind the modern day items. Yeah, it's somewhat annoying when they show up in a novel like this, but it truly doesn't matter, they will never ruin the story as you might be afraid they will. Earth won't really be relevant in this story.

Then we get to things like the earth arc. The earth arc was one of the absolute worst in this story. It happens soon after he gets his cellphone, they'll travel to earth with a space breaking spell. It's packed to the brim with racism, often very malicious. Especially towards korea, but also japan and america. The part where he's in china is fine enough, he'll just faceslap some ants and make some gags about showing off his powers and his flying fortress. The ones who kidnapped his SUPAH GENIUS SISTAH who invented a drug worthy of being part of low-level cultivation drugs was some weirdo hidden organization in america, which he proceeds to blow up in front of the entire world. The dog wreaks havoc in Japan as he controls wild dogs or something to screw them all up and control their country (kinda). Was just some mild racism at first but that all changes when earth somehow is invaded by some ancestors of the race he just annihilated by sheer coincidence, they also look like angels so the western world all end up behind the enemy force while china supports their "cultivator immortal" instead. This is where the true malicious racism starts. I think they used Japan as a formation of some kind (not 100% sure about that) and they proceed to try dealing with the MC. The MC sets up a protective formation around china and all of china cheer and praise him, many other countries have countless people trying to get into china but they can't because the formation is in the way and the entire china, especially the internet, laughs and gloats at their misfortune and their s*upidity, even actual chinese people were s*upid to have travelled overseas and now deserve to die. The rest of the world is completely worthless because they're not part of china. Yup. Well, that's fine despite being very offensive. But then the MC tricks the enemy into nuking all of korea, korea is completely wiped off the map, which results in the MC and all of the people online from china cheering and gloating at their misfortune, because everyone in korea deserves to die and it's hilarious, right? Yeaah... So that s**ked. Just skip the entire earth arc, just start reading when he's about to leave earth and finds the remains of old cultivators from far into the past. Seriously, you don't want to read the earth arc, I did it once and it made me drop the novel for half a year before giving it a try after the earth arc. Nothing important happens in the earth arc and absolutely no one there matters for the future story.

Spoiler

Well, that pretty much sums it up. To enjoy this novel, you would need to be able to stomach what I just mentioned and don't mind anything that happens. Then it becomes a nice time waster. You might think I had a lot of complaints so why should I give it a 4/5 now? It's simply enjoyable tr*sh. The story is sh*t and there are plenty of flaws, but when you learn to look the other way and accept that the story is meant to be ret*rded, it becomes quite fun to read. Never care about his s*upidity, don't mind all the flaws (many of them disappear in future chapters) and just read it because it's silly. Treat it like a gag manga. Don't ever do the mistake of treating it as a plot-driven story or anything even remotely serious. He's a troll, everyone in the mc's team are trolls, the system is a troll and the entire freaking world are just there to be trolled. The pure enjoyment I managed to get after ignoring or getting past all the flaws, accepting it for what it is, would be worthy of 4/5 stars. It's silly, it's ridiculous, it's s*upid, but it's also enjoyable to read every once in a while even if doing a binge read of several hundred chapters at once might be too much. Know its flaws before reading to enjoy it as much as possible. Power through the worst parts and know that it will always be the same ridiculous and tr*shy yet kind of amusing novel which you can waste some time reading if you have nothing better to read.

[collapse]

Old review in spoiler box, still relevant as that's how it came across at first before I learned how to enjoy it. Not much more info though and it's mainly complaints, but shows things from a slightly different perspective. I still feel many of the complaints are justified and true, but I feel like it's definitely readable and fun after learning to deal with the initial flaws and understand the flow of the story.

... This is... Well... It's pretty funny? For a while. This is pretty much an extremely inferior version of the novel "the strongest system" (okay, edit as of chapter 1506, "the strongest system" was an awesome novel for the first 400-500 chapters after which it went downhill, becoming progressively worse until it was rushed to death for a few hundred chapters and ending in an unsatisfying way, it was a garbage novel overall, but the first 400-500 chapters was gold comedy). It's one of those novels which you'd probably enjoy for a few dozen chapters, but as the author screws up more and more, the novel just gets worse and worse as things go out of control and the jokes that were initially amusing are overused and recycled over and over again, but not in a smart and funny way, but the dull way that gives you a sense of deja-vu as if you've already seen this situation before. You know those jokes you've heard a million times before that're just not funny anymore (and probably feels s*upid now) but you laughed to tears when hearing them first few times? Yeah, this becomes like that, but with a feeling of irritation as you get to see it way too many times in a short amount of time.

I couldn't really agree more with Xenon_God. I agree with everything he said and confirm it to be that way. This would normally be a junk-food novel, tr*sh that is sh*t but you still want to consume it because it makes you laugh or something. But this is like going to mcdonalds and getting a stale cheeseburger that has been on warming for the entire day, thus resulting in a dry piece of crap that you can't even swallow without a glass of water and tastes like sh*t instead of greasy goodness.

It could've been better, but the authors inability to be creative and make new situations that feel somewhat fresh ruins it. That he does s*upid sh*t like making the MCs motivations (reviving some random person he fell in love with after spending a few hours over a few days with, I swear, if I didn't read everything before that I would think that they'd been together for at least several years as lovers, it was some of the most forced crap I've ever seen, I especially loved the "I still remember her smiles and actions as if it was yesterday" comment, yeah, because it WAS yesterday, you only spent a few days around there) ret*rded and childish doesn't make it better. Especially not when he starts slaughtering everyone like a madman after that. That the author is prone to racism (the plain offensive kind that just isn't funny) and mixing up the "real" world with this fantasy world to some extent is extremely annoying and when you get to those parts, it's really time to drop it, don't try to keep giving it a chance.

Oh, let's not even start on the MC. He's the worst f**king prick of a MC I've ever seen. I would've enjoyed this much more if the MC wasn't a ret*rded mongrel. Seriously, he's mentally disabled. He acts like a 10 year old child with half-a-brain throwing tantrums everywhere while being the biggest f**king hypocrite this world has ever seen and the most self-righteous bastard ever. He says other people are evil, but he's like a demon from hell that is at least 10 times as evil as everyone else. He actively looks after people to kill for experience and he has the "rule" that if someone offends/crosses him, he'll kill them, their entire family and everyone else related to them, no matter if they're innocent or not. He has no morals whatsoever, he's a f**king extreme psychopath. He does so much s*upid sh*t, like offending people he can't afford to offend currently, not thinking about anything, complaining and whining about not progressing fast enough when he reached big realm 4 within a few days of arriving and can just buy any skill, know it instantly and then use some points to fully master it to perfection instantly. He seriously must be one of the most s*upid guys I've ever seen. No wisdom or intellect at all. He treats everything like a game, not even the death of a dear one can wake him up even a bit, he just started mu*dering everyone even more after that in order to get experience (and this is despite being 100% sure of perfectly being able to revive her later). Seriously, every sect should hide from him, if anyone in a sect offends him, he'll proceed to kill everyone he sees that are related to that sect.

The author also has no talent at all when it comes to writing a story other than some laughs here and there. No one has any personality, at all. Everyone are hollow, they're like background character A or B. That girl at the start who the MC somehow fell in love with just has 2 actions that she ever took, she only blushed and ran to hide, nothing else. People are dying everywhere, and I couldn't feel anything. I was even happy when she died, but then he decided to resurrect her... I could feel no attachment or immersion whatsoever, that's just horrible. No worldbuilding either and all skills are rip-offs from other novels, like xiao yan's lotus thing when he fuses fires, he even has the clothes, sword and flames that xiao yan had. Oh, and the novel shouldn't be named "Ultimate scheming system". It should be named "Ultimate psychopath system", "Ultimate ret*rd system", "Ultimate cheating system", "Ultimate Acting Tough System", Because if there's anything this MC doesn't do and is fully incapable of with his inferior intelligence, it's scheming. He just bashes everything head on with full cheat power from the system.

You should until you start feeling that you're getting sick of it all, which will probably be at most 50-200 chapters. It is indeed enjoyable for a while and it can kill some time and bring a few laughs, but don't read as far ahead as I did, because it's a complete waste of time that will end in extreme disappointment. I gave it a 3/5 (would be better to give it a 2/5) because I enjoyed some parts of it, especially the start and after the massacres that lasted for a few dozen chapters. When you get a few hundred chapters in, the novel isn't even worth 1/5 anymore.

Warning: have a novel ready with a competent, smart and awesome MC after this, you will need it...

This novel turned out to be extremely disappointing. While at the beginning of the novel, the "bragging" and so on is still bearable; or even interesting and hilarious, it gets repetitive and way too exaggerated in the later parts of the novel. A quick summary of this novel would be "80% filler (bragging, etc), 20% actual plot".

I get that the supposedly selling point of this novel would be how the main character "brags" for points to exchange items from the system, but I feel that the "bragging" portion of the... more>> novel should only serve to be part of the actual story such that the main character may become stronger and actually progress into the story plot. I kid you not when I said that this novel is just "80% filler". Even the battles are filled with the main character bragging and showing off for 80% of that arc before he finishes his opponent off with some super OP moves in 2 - 3 chapters (it is almost the same for every other fight scene). I'm reading this at lnmtl right now, and am 548 chapters into this novel, and between chapters 400 - 500, it was literally almost 80 chapters of the main character bragging and selling his "special food" so that he may try and get more "act tough points", without any progression in the actual plot itself. The points he accumulated was not even used for anything then.

I would suggest for any potential readers to wait for more chapters to come out before reading it. While the fights might seem rather interesting admittedly, every single part of the novel eventually becomes extremely draggy and repetitive. There is simply just too much unnecessary fillers in the novel that it starts getting hard to read. If you are looking for a novel with a good/ steady story progression, I would suggest to stay away from this novel as you would literally get blocked by a tonne of fillers with only a few chapters of story content.

*edit - to all those positive reviews debunking the negative reviews; The first 300 or so chapters are still somewhat forcibly refreshing to read, but just wait till you get to chapter 400~. You will then understand why our ratings were so low.* <<less

Oh boy, do I've got a bone to pick with this novel.

This novel has some hilarious moments, it's true. I've found myself laughing out loud several times, but I've also got the 4th grader's sense of humor, so take that as you will. It also has an occasional badass moment which can rev you up. But, it is all jammed into a bucket full of filler that my brain simply can't process it all completely.

900 chapters of story can be literally told in 100 if you've removed all the filler.... more>> You think I'm joking? Nope! Not even close. This is one of the worst examples of the word-vomit for word count that I've ever seen in my life.

However, despite all that, I still padded on because I just wanted to read a brainless Gary-Stu novel where MC goes around collecting treasures and mu*dering everyone and everything. That's, really, the entire point of the novel. I couldn't care less about the plot (namely because it's beyond idiotic; the entire driving device of the goddamn story is a random girl he spent like 2 days with and then spends the following 700 chapters trying to revive because of course he does, only to then completely forget about her because of course he does), until just recently, that is.

I withstood the introduction of modern items into the world. Whatever, they created some few, funny moments. I endured the whole bragging nature of the novel. After all, they were cool and funny sometimes. I endured absolutely tepid side-characters, most of whom are women of course, whose personalities are so base they may as well literally be treasures themselves that MC goes around collecting. Whatever, who gives a shit. It's a harem story. I endured another goddamn obnoxious, boring, annoying, overused talking dog because, whatever, it's a talking dog. I've seen worse. I've endured insipid narrative style because I've endured it in hundreds of novels before (chapters spent on random nobodies' reactions? Check! Chapters spent battling some irrelevant idiot without ever once feeling MC is in a lick of trouble? Check! Chapters spent repeating the same sh*t that's been said 100 times before? Check!).

But, then, for some ungodly reason, MC suddenly started caring about his life on Earth and his 'accidental death' was suddenly a mu*der and --- LITERALLY out of nowhere, he had this unquenchable desire to go to Earth and save his sister. Sister, by the way, who we learn existed literally hundreds of chapters into the story. Go lick a shoe.

Then, when I didn't think it could get any s*upider, he gets a cellphone, connects to Earth, and eventually even goes there. And, my god, these last 200 chapters have killed any and all good will I've had toward this pile of garbage. Overt, blatant, entirely unnecessary racism, filler on top of filler, literally pulling the entire story to an absolute crawl just so author can fawn over his f*cking nation, churning out page after page of pointless 'History-of-Earth-which-is-totally-true' just so--actually, I have zero clue as to why he did it. Why is Earth suddenly magical? Do you really think, you thick-skulled moron, that if 'cultivators' existed in the past, we'd simply somehow forget about them? F*ck off.

Three Angels then come to settle the score, because of course they do, and threaten to kill every other human in the world besides the Chinese, and what does our holier-than-thou human do? Nothin'. He barbecues chicken wings, because of course he does.

This is embarrassing. I've never seen such colossal drop in quality from an already bad novel ever in my life. Hell, f*cking furry fan-fiction at its worst is only slightly worse than this shit. I didn't even begin to sh*t out the plothole-galore this novel has because from the get-go I never took it seriously and even bothered. The opening scene of the novel is about a dude about to get pissed on. You do not -- I repeat -- you do not get to have a serious story if that's your opening scene. F*ck off. <<less

It seems so far to be a rather generic novel about a main character getting a cheat that quickly makes him incredibly op then slapping faces. I was coming in expecting a novel akin to Strongest System, but somehow got a rather worse copy of it. Maybe it will get better. Probably not.

At first it was a great novel. The MC did what he wanted to do and his shamelessness was very funny. I think most people can also agree that the first hundreds of chapters were the best of the novel.

unfortunately as the novel proceeded, the MC decided to do so much for a lady who doesn't even consider him nothing other than a brat. He killes thousands for her, he pays billions for her, he waits for her. For what? Not even a thank you! It because ridiculous when he... more>> became love struck over a woman which made me feel like dropping it. I swear what's the point of acting tough if he can't do what he wants. "I promised her I won't kill you so I won't make any trouble" like seriously if the woman tells him to cripple his cultivation, he would do it on the spot. Like wtf Xu Que was supposed to be an unrestrained arrogant dude but he turned into a little love struck brat who became desperate for attention.

This is all for her. I have to please her. I will win this war for her sake. Ridiculous and don't get me started on what happens when he meets the girl he fell in love with at the start. Lol! He actually has no goals other than to get the five genesis herbs. The plot seems to be desparate to advance.

I enjoyed this novels beginning arcs, where the MC didn't bow down and listen to anyone. But after he fell in love with another woman it all went downhill from there. Seriously a love struck desparate hero is ridiculous. Iv never seen anyone pay billions for a woman who doesn't even share her worries with him, who considers him to be unable to help him despite acknowledging his strength. He saved her kingdom yet she acts as if nothing happened. Really disappointed.

(update) I decided to continue reading since I was very bored. Glad to know that Xu que has not changed at all. Honestly it has a very poor story and is absolutely a complete parody. I mean Xu que has some extremely thick plot armor and is an extremely s*upid dude. He is very funny though as he manages to dupe many people who have the iq of little children. But the saddest thing is that if a really powerful expert cornered him he will die without his plot armor. But for some reason no matter how much he cheats, kills, offends. No really powerful expert comes for him. Anyone that comes for him is well within the scope of his abilities or at least his running away abilities. So if your looking for a serious story and to laugh while your on the journey then this isn't for you. If you want something that will only make you laugh from here to there then this is for you. However your not allowed to ponder on the behaviour of the enemies and how easily they fall into his plots. It makes you wonder how they survived to such an age. <<less

Really funny and also really satisfying. If you like wish fulfilment then this is great... it's nice to see someone with a cheat that actually feals like a huge cheat. Some authors are terrible at handling cheats and the story gets boring fast, but not here. Unless you're burnt out on "normal" xuanhuans then I'd definitely recommend this.

One of the greatest works of art I have ever seen in my entire life.

Ill be honest, the story barely has any plot or meaning to it but it doesn’t need it. I binged 600 chapters at once and now I just wish another 2000 chapters would fall out of the sky for me.

The comedy is top tier comparable to A Will Eternal and The Strongest System. Plus MC is badass as f*ck and not a pu*sy that takes L’s left and right.

I highly recommend this book to people that... more>> want to laugh their ribs sore. <<less

Nice. It's so rare to find a Chinese WN power fantasy, as opposed to all those power fant-oh look, that guy is 5 levels higher despite being younger than the super talented MC. Will the MC be able to level up in three weeks?

Anyway, I've enjoyed reading this. Cool.

when MC met and r*ped (I consider it r*pe no matter what anyone tells me as I think it is pretty forced and maybe the author just wants a justifiable reason for it not to be called r*pe) the Fire Princess

[collapse]

I'm a bit biased on the review as I really don't have much affinity with shameless protagonist. At the beginning I didn't mind and kinda looked forward to it but later on he is just plain evil. I could understand that some of the sects deserved being robbed or annihilated by the MC but doing so to sects unrelated to MC it starts to be annoying especially when acting tough just for the sake of acting tough. He is pretty much disregarding everyone else's life and he's treating everyone like NPC that he can just kill. Sure some may say it's because of what happened with the first village that the MC don't like cultivators but so what? Not every cultivators are the same like not all ordinary people are good.

I don't mind MC being ruthless, pe*verted or shameless but there needs to be a line that one mustn't cross and for me the MC just crossed it. So this novel is pretty much dropped. <<less

ignore those premature comments who don't even read till 200 chapters. This novel is fun and entertaining. It is one of the funniest novels I've read. It takes time to start the first arc then after that, it goes smoothly.

The plot gets more interesting and world-building keeps on expanding not like other novels where it gets more boring when it gets more chapters.

Definitely give it a try but be wary first few chapters takes patience and seeing the links above looks like webnovel take over with just a few chapters... more>> there are 1500+ chapter translated which you can find easily just google it. <<less

Whilst full of refreshing aspects, this novel is truly lacking everything that makes xianxia, and xuanhuan unique. The author doesn't lie to the audience, he is blatant about the cheat system, and is extremely self-indulgent. This is how a xianxia, or xuanhuan novels would look like at its core, without the embellishment, and the watered down self-fulfilment. This is precisely where the story is missing its own heart, yet perhaps, this also makes it unique; the story is devoid of layers of usual genre criteria.

Yet, isn't the genre criteria... more>> what makes xuanhuan and xianxia so interesting? So entertaining. This is a novel that is devoid of all semblances of world building, and consequently culture. There's no adaptation. It's Just another self-righteous protagonist, whom differs in the point that he is attuned to his instincts - more than most - and consequently is more impulsive. Simplified, the protagonist, and the entire world is rather Japanese. Blatant OP cheat system. Righteous, yet perverse protagonist. See the similarities yet?

The only reason reading this novel may be even slightly positive is if someone is completely tired of what makes Chinese fantastical literature, fantastical, and instead desires a diluted Chinese-Japanese hybrid abomination in its place. To create an utterly flimsy excuse of 'refreshing content'.

Would not recommend. Never. Ever. Disappointing, and so very different from the many positive reviews. <<less

One of the best and funniest novels I've ever read! There was a small arc I wasn't a fan off but everything from then on has been stellar. The author has a great use of puns (chinese puns) which make the novel enjoyable to read. I didn't experience any reading fatigue at all as I read through it.

Spoiler

The arc I hated was when he went back to China to get his sister. Pretty sh*t arc but whatever it lasted like 30-50 chapters I think.

I am not really comfortable with writing a review after only 34 chapters, but I felt the need to counter-balance a little.

The premise is as follows: the protagonist is a reincarnator taking over the body of a discarded prince consort after the his wife absorbed his cultivation. He gets a system that rapidly raises his power level, and its main currency is "acting tough" points. He gains those by acting boisterous in front of others or by displaying domineering abilities. In other words, it is a system that rewards him... more>> for playing the role of your typical sociopathic xianxia MC. Emphasis on the "acting" part, as while he is unscrupulous, he is nowhere as bad as some of the natural examples.

Aside of the system, there isn't much else that makes this work stick out of the competition, but contrary of the other reviews here, I don't think it's particularly bad. Nor is it a comedic series, as by ch 34 the protagonist is on a completely serious roaring rampage of revenge, he has a goal for which he has to raise his cultivation ASAP, and in general he is becoming a more relatable character contrasting the indifferent haughtiness of the local cultivators.

That said, there are also a lot of issues on the writing front, such as the annoying trope of these systems handing out the techniques of MCs of other works, which this story takes to its extreme by having the people protagonist learn Xiao Yan's entire early skillset, complete with his sword and clothes.

That said, it is still early to judge this WN, but personally I will stick to it for a while, as I see a lot of potential in it.

Edit: After reading a couple more chapters, I have to make a slight correction: I was wrong when I said this was not a comedic series. I was so, so wrong. Once the first big *wham* episode that leads to the alluded roaring rampage of revenge, the story mellowed out a bit and it became one of the most hilarious things I have ever read. It's practically the best parts of the comedy of Library of Heaven's Path and History's Number One Founder rolled together with the some of the over-the-top destructive face-slapping seen in Emperor's Domination sprinkled on top. I really, really hope the rest of the WN is going to keep up this quality, as it might actually become my new favorite

Edit2: Nope, the quality didn't keep up. It went downhill. Hard. Now I feel silly for trying to defend this novel... <<less

This Novel are for those who are twisted people..

The MC has this called System that can assist him like computer, and it has a shop that sells anything depend on his cultivation lvl. This shop requires "act tough" points. to get this points he need to brag, act cool, taunt and insult everyone. MC cultivation need to kill to get exp points not like the normal parctice cultivate to lvl up all he need is to kill kill kill to be strong...

Then here is why I said its twisted, the... more>> MC need some acttough points for the shop to buy manuals skill pills etc. So he need to look for people to have it. an audience indeed.. he taunt insult and anything to brag.. and ofcourse they were offended... when they talk back HE KILLs THEM WTH...!! He is looking for people to be fault with just to kill them for EXPs... and thinking hes a genius that he think its 1shot with 2kills getting acttough points and Exp..

theres a time that he want find to fault with then after arguing he kill them and he saw that he lack 200k exp. Then Wth he want to kill the audience (those who watch) <<less

Just more hot garbage. Another author just straight up copying things from other novels, it reads more like fanficion of a "Battle Through the Heavens" Fan, where the MC just buys abilities and weapons from other novels. Although it may be entertaining for a few chapters at the end of the day is just another lazy author seeking to make a quick buck.

1.) The comedy is awesome!

2.) Strong MC

... more>> 3.) Interesting System

CON

1.) Since the chapter +50 (I'm not sure about the exact chapter) he got a thing to change his appearance and now, he is not the MC anymore (Xu Que) since he never had his original appearance again.

2.) A lot of romance, but never towards the MC since he changes his appearance.

3.) A lot of romance, but never develops after the female falls in love with the MC because he has to leave the town/city.

4.) It started amazing, 0% fillers and the plot was interesting, now it has fillers everywhere, 50 chapters discussing about poems... sigh.

5.) The only female he had s*x with, was his enemy. (Rape) <<less

Spoiler

The princess tries to poison and then kill the MC (for the second time) so he won't be a threat to her family even though they're the reason for the whole beef. In the end, the poison is swapped and the effect it has on women is different from men. It makes women h**ny (I know corny) in the end she'll die if she doesn't have s*x and her servant begs the MC to save her (I know contrived). Still given the scenario and circumstance it's not r*pe.
