Most useless story. Time is supposed to be some awesome power, according to the novel. But at the later chapters everyone can mess with time. Time is like a toy to MC and he is playing with it everyday. When some power can be used by everybody it is not awesome anymore.

If this story lacks something, that is common sense and.. A better editor.

Leaving these two flaws aside, I can say that this novel has been a nice surprise. Even though it feels amateurish, the combination between the dull and the interesting made my reading very smooth, even though there wasn't even one moment when I felt my blood boil or at least some sort of excitement. At the very least, I can say that I was intrigued by the premise and the way it developed from there. And the entire... more>> premise can be resumed to one single word, luck.

At present, there are many novels with genius protagonist that through luck they manage to rise to the top, yet only a few use this in moderation. In this novel at least the protagonist clearly knows his flaws and is willing to use his ability to influence luck to a large extreme. In the end he
Spoiler

even manages to distort reality, making things happen no matter how low that probability is. This becomes a strong ability even in battle later on.

[collapse]

At this moment, the protagonist has embarked on both the gene warrior and gene producer paths, some sort of cultivation and alchemy path but for a more advanced world. Most of the epilogue of the story, or at least that's how I prefer to call these 209 chapters I've read until now, have to do with the protagonist desire to gain money and prosperity. Only after having to deal with stronger experts later on he decides to gain power more than anything. Still, until the real protagonist appears, I think another 100 chapters will pass. Even so, I expect an interesting story to unfold once the protagonist abilities are used mainly in battle.

Lastly, I said this story lacks common sense and a better editor. The problem with common sense comes from the clumsy and immature way the protagonist deals with problems, fame and women.
Spoiler

his main interest is a woman that looks like a kid that is extremely strong.

[collapse]
. Many times you will feel like punching this protagonist for his lack of shame. Even so, the protagonist slowly grows on you, and becomes acceptable as more than just another run of the mill creation of a lousy author. Secondly, a better editor is needed as either the real story jumps from one scene to another too crudely, losing not only the tension that had gathered in the former scene but also the emotions. I don't know if it is a problem of translation or of writing, but the story losses quite a lot of its substance by forsaking these seemingly unimportant connections.

In conclusion, while this story doesn't deliver a strong punch, it manages to obtain more than many others thanks to its well written premise. I hope that more people will read it, especially now when too many novels simply borrows ideas from other novels. Have fun reading! <<less

Amazing start but the writer seems to want put all the popular elements he can think of into the book, and it feels forceful. Also he seems to keep throwing numbers around randomly to show how big things are (it's not a big deal but it lessens the empact when it's done like that) the worst thing is that the writer seems to forcefully add bad guys into the story and wants every day to be eventful instead of proper pacing with good ups and downs.

Still it is very enjoyable... more>> to read specially the start but the climax seems to be forced in some events
Spoiler

there was a competition and every event was nice and sometimes unpredictable but when it came to the final bit it seems like the writer wanted to squeeze every thing the MC can do I to the fight and again it seems forced

[collapse]

the story is interesting and fun to read only con that can be a turn off at times is that the progression of events isn't always smooth or that every event has every possible element in it to the point where the climax losses is meaning. But it's improving.

If if you like stuff like crafting/pill refining to get stronger and enjoy multiple special abilities for each person that are different than one another then I recommend this novel for you. <<less

This is a refreshing changes from the usual cultivation genre novels that I have read of late. The MC is amazingly OP given the fact that his survival and abilities revolves around pure luck to the point that this luck system becomes more of an oracle of such to solve his future problems.

The MC does lack from foresight as others have mentioned, but this does not draw away from the alluring nature of the MC's c*ckiness and quick-wittiness to come out on top.

  • Transmigration set up nicely as reason for the ability, the Transmigration and his personality
  • One could describe the job he aims at as a gene alchemist
  • He retained the knowledge of the body he took over
  • World building 1/5 one basically knows nothing only that his job should be expensive but how much costs a loaf of bread?
  • Spoiler

Is there a rich enemy? Maybe he was just used for the story setup

The novel can be split into several eras timewise and mc’s standing.

novel takes a turn when MC becomes the “hero/legend” of humanity, it can be seen from previous chapters but mainly MC is trying to save humanity rather than be some sh*t that just wants to be stronger for the sake of it.

timewise imo the eras get better the further you get to the end, albeit there are still plotholes and some bs along the way, for example it really feels like author forgot some characters, but then remembered and... more>> reintroduced them, which might seem fine but due to lack of skill or planning ended up annoying.
Spoiler

The last boss of the novel gets shown 1-2 times very briefly in the first half of the novel, but when you meet him at the end the impression is wrong. Another person gets forgotten and not mentioned for no reason and at the end we’re given an explanation that seems like bs.

[collapse]

plenty write here that his skill is plot armor and that luck points that he gets 1 per hour are not consistent. Sure a skill that allows to manipulate luck is kind of plot armor, but it is the way he uses it that counts, which seems tr*sh at the beginning but gets better as he learns how it works and how to control it better. As for luck point inconsistency, I didn’t notice it, most of the time you just need to read and calculate how much time passed and how much points he used and author gets the number right mostly, can’t point to the times when author didn’t.

As for the ending, the last era timewise, it was quite exciting but disappointing at the same time, there were plot-bs in a few places, some that could be explained away but some just s*upid
Spoiler

so a Time God gets screwed over at controlling time by a guy with minor tr*sh time ability, ok authors brain is melting at that point and the novel ends a few chapters later anyway so a one last “oh no” moment. Don’t want to spoil too much but yeah the reason it’s disappointing is because of Time God.

[collapse]

MC is smart and s*upid at the same time, won’t even put this in a spoiler but Xiao Ying is a girl (dundundun duh) and MC is surprised about that and it’s just me ranting but wtf guy you never asked her gender nor did you ever cared and now you’re surprised, he didn’t care as in he literally forgot about her until she was needed at the end. So MC is s*upid in some places that just stick out, otherwise and I’m mainly talking about second half/end of the novel he shows his smarts, it just makes him look s*upid when he is s*upid and readers ignore it when MC acts smart. Also don’t be too fast to judge MC, author likes to tell readers sth then show MC acting s*upid based on that and then show “tada! MC was actually smart plz have faith in my writing”.

i don’t often write reviews but I just finished reading this novel, then went here to read reviews and I judged that if I read reviews first then I wouldn’t have even read this novel, but it actually wasn’t as bad as all the below 3star reviews say. Now I kind of want to read Godly Model Creator made by same author but after reading reviews there i’m hesitant lol and so I decided to write this review. <<less

At first it was quite entertaining and funny. There are some negatives like most CN novel usually, but nothing major. After about chapter 300, it seriously become unbearable. There are a lot of inconsistencies, contradiction and nonsense everywhere. It likes the author suddenly have lose the ability to think rationally. Most people act without logic whatsoever. They do what they did just for the plot, the reasoning behind them (if any) is not a sane person can understand.

This is BY FAR the novel with most plotholes i've ever read, and... more>> I read quite a lot of webnovel. Looks like the author doesn't plan his story, even the identity of one important person (the mysterious organization leader) suddenly become certain person. If you think about the past and what Wang Yao said, you surely realized that the leader not supposed to be him. Also at otherworld mountain, the reason the people wants to kill MC because they thought they can't get the reward if MC is alive is not making any sense at all, and then suddenly MC really wants the reward mission even though at first there is no mention of that and it makes sense as the reward is useless to MC (the reward is secret art which MC can't use because of his gene composition and he doesn't need any money), after that no mention at all for it after MC claimed the reward.

Most of character action in this novel does not make any sense, a new fact is sometimes contradict with the fact from previous chapter, it drives me crazy. For novel that i've read quite far (I read more than 50% before I dropped it), I rated this as the worst novel that i've read!

q00u review :

Spoiler

A rock-solid three.

Some interesting ideas, some humor, not the worst ending. But characters and plot threads are constantly introduced that go nowhere. Or the author forgets about them, like many other details.

The rule is: Don't think about it! Is this new character a future love interest? Don't think about it! Hey, the rules in this chapter contradict the previous chapters... Don't think about it! Didn't the main character have a power that could have helped in this situation? Don't think about it!

Turn your brain off, enjoy the ride, and absolutely, positively, do not think about it.

[collapse]

Tried turn off my brain like usual, at first it's working but when it became so s*upid I can't help but notice things even though i've tried not to think about anything. If you are a pro at this, I guess this novel is not that bad. <<less

Good read. If possible read the novel before the reviews. Almost every review is an exaggeration. Like calling the MC that has been in the world for a month dumb cos he was scammed by someone who made his career by stealing other people’s products.

The novel’s really interesting and his ‘overpowered power’ is nerfed considering there is a weird cool down. If you’re into revenge and immediate killing tho you might not like it cos revenge is a basically mu*der in the world but all in all it has the... more>> same vibe of super gene without the immediate leveling up. <<less

im honestly kinda amazed at myself for finishing this, the writing was SUPER sloppy. The author forgets to include many characters in the scenes half the time and then shoves them in right after and its overall messy, at some point they just give up on putting numbers on most of the stats despite how often stat numbers were used in the beginning of the story, gene production only makes up like 30% or less of the whole story, and the store that MC runs and even has the same... more>> name as the novel itself has a pitifully small presence. Despite all this, I managed to stay interested and finished the whole thing almost non-stop. MC is written as an overall clever character, but he is impulsive at times mostly because the author probably didn't stop to think if the actions they were writing were impulsive. He manages to trick, scam, and plan against people all the time and I found that pretty entertaining. As the plot ramped up, I was hooked and read all the way to the end but if you want something that actually has good writing don't read this. <<less

One thing you'll notice in the reviews is all those who have given it a bad rating haven't read even half of the novel. While the MC relies on his plot armour/power of luck in the early phases of the novel which you can enjoy in a light-hearted manner without thinking too much into the details, the latter part of the novel becomes really interesting when MC starts to realise he can no longer depend on his power of luck. It essentially becomes a game of wits and strategy with... more>> MC growing from someone dependent upon plot armour to someone who uses his wit and wisdom to outsmart his most challenging opponent yet. <<less

Up until chapter 350, the novel is quite interesting. Its very humorous. The MC's cheat power is quite funny and interesting and OP but also has its limitations. I think the novel was worth reading because of many times it made me laugh out loud at some of the comedy scenes.

Around chapter 350, the story completely falls off the rails. Too many characters and random plotlines are introduced way too quickly. The MC gets s*upid power ups and his cheat power is abused by the author for s*upid plot lines.... more>> Its almost like the author decided to take a break and let a ten year old write the story. MC transmigrated to another world having a luck ability. With luck ability everything is possible. Creating a combat item from the usual standard product to a mutated product. The first few chapters may be a little hard to understand with all the different terminalogy used by the author. Still get a few laughs where the MC kickass the enemy using a water gun.

It definitely reads a bit more like a cultivation story plus a sci-fi one (universities instead of sects, gene upgrades vs cultivation), but it's unique enough to set it apart. It's becoming a bit more like a Xuanhuan story (quick "upgrades" and an OP MC), but for now it's pretty good.

Pros: The world building is good, the characters are pretty decent, and the story is interesting. The MC is fairly smart, and makes good use of his cheat.

Cons: So far the main antagonist's motivation is pretty lacking.

Spoiler

He had the owner of MC's body killed because he wanted to get the highest spot in class and go to a top university. It's horrible but understandable. Now he just can't let the MC go, and won't accept that the MC is stronger/smarter than him, even though it doesn't really affect him at this point. He's also been saved by the MC twice, but that just makes him want to kill him more. He also wants to kill his cousin because he might be better than him, and for some reason the majority of his family side with him to assassinate the cousin's half of the family.

this is quite good novel. It's entertaining to read, and does not use every single cliche. There is no any harem so far, nor any tournaments. Plot armor is strong, but on the other hand, MC's ability is luck.

The biggest problem is that MC is dumb. He is very shortsighted with his goals. He randomly decides to take part competition, and then takes any dumb shortcut he can, without considering risks or any long-term benefits. He makes hasty decisions like an adhd kid on drugs.

For example, he buys very expensive... more>> ingredients, which remains fresh only for 3 days. Then he wastes 2 days to research online how to prepare the stuff. He never considers that he might do the research first. Or he uses an expensive potion to increase his spirit power, which can be done only once per level. Only then he gets idea that there might be other methods to do it, and gives a call to his friend. He learns that there is a way, it just not only makes his potion wasted, but it actually made using that method harder. This was public knowledge, which he did not bother learning with all the time he had. <<less

Good laughs but it got slightly tiring at the end, still it could always make me smile at times. The beginning though was comedy gold. Although the rest of the story is still quite comedic, however it never recaptures the comedy of the beginning and middle parts of the story. I like it.

Tomah's review accurately sums up this novel.

I was really excited by the idea of using "Luck" as an ability and the premise was interesting but it became mediocre very soon.

Somewhat interesting ideas and plot but many side plots and characters are abandoned and forgotten by author so it gets nowhere.

... more>> Also the characters themselves aren't that fun to read cause they're offshoots of cliches and MC can be super dumb in really mundane stuff like finances.

This is basically a cardboard cutout xianxia with the unique premise of extra thicc plot Armor Luck lol stuck on top of it

tr*sh novel

Plots are normal

Had some expectations but nah

... more>> The power system is weird and crappy

Thought it would be good

But the author is a loli con

He has written loli in every novel of his

Somewhat weird if it's just cuteness I could control but this is something else not cute just loli

Pure tr*sh I don't like at all

Overmystifying things

I like simple plots

Like when the MC gets Something great he should think of using it or later having it for other purposes but nah the loli comes and says that she has her intuition that he has that and the MC even accepts that and later uses a favor for that, when literally his brother killed the previous vess l of the MC, pure tr*sh novel, we get that uncomfortable felling reading this, like every thing MC does has someone who is monitoring him, even if he is a good grandpa or not is not something that I like mystifying things are dumb enough if u can't do that we'll , and more importantly his power is luck and the usage is also dumb like why wouldn't you use luck other than in the profession, the author just used luck as it's a vague concept he can change the uses however he want and the character are 1 sided if a certain person is shown first then lateraybe he is gone or comes late in the chapter as a helping hand, the uses of gene is dumb u can take a gene and throw it and it' explodes, and romance.....

Is tr*sh enough to make me kill the fl

Don't have any real expectations just treat it as a normal' tr*sh Chinese novels <<less

It's a good novel (really) but you must hang on untill the end....

The story about MC (Cheng Feng) that transmigrated and got the power of Luck. I don't like the MC characteristic, because he's sometimes too reckless and his decission does not make any sense, though he is a smart MC. But after reading until the end (the the pace sometimes boring or sometime disconnected, but just try to keeps hang on till the end), the story is well connected and has great ending.

Pro :

  • Great world building, I very like the gene production time. too bad it kinda discontinued by the author after level S : (
  • I like the luck aura usage
  • Goood ending (don't worry. it's happy end)
  • Good enemy level & pacing
Con :

  • Reckless MC
  • The story not quite good in romance department
  • The final boss reasoning is kinda not make sense to me with all the ability & knowledge he should had

So in the beginning of this novel I found myself really drawn to the concept of it. I really enjoyed it, and it was definitely a highlight of my day. I thought the author really had a good grasp of where the story was going to go, and the route he wanted to take to get there. However, it became really clear towards the last half of the novel that the author had made a mishap. He made the MC far too powerful far too quickly, and there was in... more>> all honesty nowhere left for the story to really go. Which typically isn't that bad of a thing, but there were so many story lines left unfinished. There are so many questions left unanswered in this story, but I do hear that there may be a sequel coming which hopefully will fix a lot of these issues. Otherwise not the worst story, and the beginning was really good. <<less

This story could have been really good. It could have. But it wasn't. The MC's main power is luck. But it's not what you think. A better name for it would be "invincibility". It's miracle-in-a-box. It can change reality. It can make 0.00000000000001% chance a certainty. It can be used as an oracle. It can... well, there's no way to tell what it can't do, because it does literally anything and everything the MC wants it to do. And that's the problem.

The MC's name is Chen Feng. He's from Earth.... more>> But in the first chapter or two he dies, and takes over the body of a guy from another, much MUCH larger world... who's also named Chen Feng? Weird. Whatever.

The first few dozen chapters aren't bad. The worldbuilding is pretty decent. The system we see isn't too bad. Each cultivation tier is literally 10x the power of the last, so a peak F-class guy will have a primary stat value of 100 while at peak E-class it's 1000. This makes fighting across tiers ludicrous. Except. With "Luck", the MC regularly fights not just one or two, but three tiers up. Yes, he often fights people thousands of times more powerful than himself. And he wins. Every time. Because "luck". And when his "luck" runs out, he's saved by super-powerful goddess-types. If that's not luck I'm not sure what is, but it's not part of his super-power.

I do like that this doesn't hide the fact that higher tiers exist like some stories do. There's no "I climbed my way to the top, then ascended and was suddenly at the bottom again, rinse, repeat, forever". We know from the start that there are insanely powerful experts everywhere. But when they still get beaten down by an E- or D-class loser, they lose some of their mystique!

After watching this guy curb-stomp several people who are thousands of times his strength, mostly due to authorial fiat and ass-pulls, I just got bored and quit. There's no tension when you KNOW that the MC will win (easily) no matter what hair-brained thing he tries. I know I've b*tched about deus-ex-machinae in prior reviews, and maybe it's just a trope in Chinese writing, but it ruins books for me if there's never any credible conflict. If I flat-out know that the MC will always triumph, why not just make them god and skip 3000 pages? The one Chinese story I'm still reading after 2000+ chapters does have this kind of ass-pull, but it's rare. It's not every 20-30 chapters like it is in most stories, including this one.

Unlike some of the other stories, though, this guy isn't completely an idiot. His tactics are actually not too bad when he's not relying entirely on luck. But his strategy is... completely relying on luck. His general plan is "charge into insane circumstances and know that luck will win the day", and that's boring.

Also, if I never again read the phrase "You are courting death" it'll be too soon. This little nugget shows up every few paragraphs during each and every fight scene.

Overall this is better than some of the tr*sh stories I've started but couldn't finish, but it's still not even a three-star book. The writing is bland, the translation OK at best, and the tension non-existent. But at least the cultivation system was interesting and the MC was better than some, so I'll give it two stars rather than just one. <<less
