While on her way to college, Ruri and her classmates from her secondary school days were summoned to another world by a bright light that shone on the ground.

The summon was supposed to call forth a shrine maiden that would bring glory to the country. With ‘a’ being the operative word, It seems that she was just an unfortunate bystander that got mixed up in the summoning.

Luckily for her, accommodations and other necessities were provided. Not so luckily, she was made into a criminal by the conspiracy concocted by her so-called ‘friends’ and was exiled to the forest.

She was saved by a witch after encountering an unknown being. She then swore vengeance on her former ‘friends’.

Studying under the witch, she finally gained enough power to exact her vengeance… or so the story was supposed to go, other than the fact that she turned into a white cat, and was sleeping comfortably on the lap of the Dragon King.

I had found the manga of this novel first and immediately fell in love with the fairies and story. Super cute and fluffy. Main characters are likeable and romance is cute. If you started with the manga first, the novel has some differences so definitely read from the beginning if possible.

Ah, that ended too soon (translated chapters I mean)... It's an adorable, light, fluffy story that just heals your bleeding heart. It's a fairy tale. I repeat it's a fairy tale. As in genre. Fairy tale. Cinderella? Snow White? Those ones. Without all the gory details, tho. What I mean is, don't expect it to be a novel with all the tropes and mumbo jumbo you EXPECT to see in jnovel or cnovel. Of course there are, but prejudiced expectations would disturb your reading experience and you might miss all... more>> the joy of this novel.

It's a really, really great read to heal your battered spirits.

Romance +

Adorably dense MC (I'd say tho she's just scarred and in denial, and not dense at all) +

Adorably gorgeous caring ML +

Light-hearted +

Uber fluffy +

Uber cute +

Good prevails the evil +

I prostrate before the author. And humbly wish there were more novels like this one. <<less

I love it! At first, I thought it would have a very serious plot, but I was so, very so wrong!!

It was funny and light-hearted, just my cup of tea. I was left hanging by the last chapter that I really 5x want more!!

I'm looking forward to the romance. ?

Okay I will admit I am mostly doing a review because of reading previous comments on poor reviews.

Yes, this is not the greatest novel, but!

It is cute and fluffy. This is one where you might not want to take it that seriously. It is a light read and should be read that way. Also the male lead has yandere tendencies that are contributed to him by being a dragon and this is important. As their culture and even species are different that is going to take time. One comment or... more>> mentioned her cringing because of a part of the dragon's ritual involved her becoming pregnant shortly after getting married but MC makes it clear that she does not mind she is just not used to everything happening so fast. Plus if she really didn't want any of this as she has more than enough ability to stop or slow things down. ML is also able to understand and reveals that he will listen to MC.
Spoiler

As for when MC randomly starts growing fruit trees after visiting a poor village and then just saying it isn't her problem. She States perfectly it is not her problem, she isn't a saint (which is honestly refreshing to read). In a real situation even if she went from village to village it isn't her responsibility nor should it be. She is just one person and not even the one who has caused this problem, if she just fixed it what about the responsibility of the ones who actually caused the damage? It is realistic. She is just a normal girl from a peaceful world and she knew that what she did is only a bandage and would not fix the real problem, she just did what she could with what was in front of her. MC stated it perfectly she couldn't just do nothing while it was happening in front of her. I would like to point out that why should she go around and out of her way to do more? Because she can? What exactly would the point be then. So she helps everyone and then? The villages get in further trouble because troops will raid them and further their plight by taking the fruit as food for the war and the villagers will be right back to where they started If not worse because the soldiers are also pretty much starving and as long as they have no relation to the village they will take food and most likely r*pe a few of the women while at it because let's be real here that happens more often then anyone will ever admit. Please ignore grammar I don't even care to fix it at this moment I am really bothered that people can even blame the MC for this part, like really are you serious? Also minor but I would like to point out another commentor Mention that MC should not be receiving sympathy about her stalker friend that the other characters Don't know personally are judging her. Are you for real? The stalkers cult literally threw her into a forest knowing that she will end up dead. The other characters know the MC and know about magic compatibility and some have even experienced this stalker like situation, so why shouldn't she receive sympathy? What would the point of going to another world if the author was only going to have MC repeat the same thing as their own world.... also when they met the stalker they didn't treat her badly and as for the traumatic event, I hate to say this but she deserved it. She cares for no one other than herself, even MC is just a convenient babysitter and no better than an accessory. This stalker literally takes over mc's life. She changed her hair and eye color to mc's original color and kept it that way even after MC changed her appearance! If it wasn't for the fact that she is obsessed with staying by MC I would really be inclined to think that she could easily kill MC, take her place And get away with it (except for MC parents). Seriously this character has so much psycho potential it isn't funny. Sorry for the long winded rant but this all bothered me what kind of white lotus books have people been reading to think any of the above is reason for calling the MC selfish... 😓

This story had a lot of potential, unfortunately the author rushed the ending, it seems Kureha was tired and just wanted to put an end. The last 20 chapters were so-so. And there isn't a lot of romance or fluff. Too bad, I really liked the first half of the novel and I thought it would be like that till the end, and I was wrong oh so wrong. Meh. Currently I'm reading The duchess 50 tea recipes, Miss not-so sidekick and Doctor Elise. All of them are sooo good,... more>> you won't regret giving them a chance.

P. S: ALL the good novels are from Korea. I'm tired of the insipid isekai stories from Japan or the r*pist CEOs or scum prince from Chinese endless stories <<less

It was fun enough at the start, but there's a few points that ruin it.

1. As other reviewers have mentioned, the last two chapters are... very creepy.

Spoiler

Basically the LI and the MC get together - yay! Except the LI is possessive to the point of abuse, and apparently this is a societal thing for the entirety of the dragon race. Women with lovers (assumed male) aren't allowed to leave the house. Because their partners get so jealous they might mu*der anyone around them. And people of the dragon race mate for life, so they're stuck inside unless their partner dies before them.

Considering that's the role of women in dragon race society, it's not surprising the LI immediately talks about getting the MC pregnant despite the fact she's fearful of the thought.

2. The relationship between the MC and the other isekai'd girl isn't as deep as I'd hoped

Spoiler

From the first few chapters, it really seemed to me that the other girl actually liked the MC, but since she's a little ditzy and was charming everyone around her without knowing, she ended up causing trouble for the MC and never really realized. s*upid, maybe, but not irredeemable. I was expecting the other girl to realize how much trouble she's caused the MC, maybe have to swallow a bit of humble pie, but for there to be a moment where they really reconcile because she's not a inherently bad person.

Unfortunately, on their reunion, the other isekai'd girl is written as a complete idiot with no redeeming characteristics. It's really a waste of a relationship that could've been interesting if treated right.

[collapse]

It's also true the MC is OP but that's kinda expected from isekai so I'll let it pass. The main issues I had were the above points.

If you're looking for a light read, I'd still recommend reading it up to say, the 30s though. <<less

MC has no real faults and she's one of those typical shoujo mary-sues which isn't that bad, the problem is everyone else. They dumb down the antagonists to make MC look better.

Everyone who's against the MC's side is made out to be selfish one dimensional baddies or just plain brain dead. The friend honestly didn't deserve what she got for being dumb, and it just felt like the author is venting out some real life stress into that one character.

I feel like I lost a few brain cells reading this.

This is a really good story.

it's been awhile since I last found a novel Romance that can shake my heart,

Well I guess it's because normally I kinda like a tregady novel or something like that

so it's really hard to find another novel that suit my taste.

Reading the manga version 1st, I though it was interesting until the MC transform to the cat form in the castle. She obey whatever the king want, he even become more forceful & selfish with here after discovering her real form. So, the relationship between the two of them does get in may nerve seeing how the MC way too week without option in front of him. If you OK with such a romance relationship give it a try otherwise I don't advise anybody to read this... more>> story since there are no development both in the story and its characters other than both of them. Thanks for the translator and the job done so far. <<less

I read it back when there were only 12 chapters, and fell madly in love with it. All the problems that people have are reasonably explained and provide the foundation for a story full of adventure, laughter, misunderstanding, and outright adorableness.

When it stopped being translated I actually decided to try to machine translating it - and I read it to the end! It's so good and I am so happy that you are translating it again!

Ok, so it looses only 1 star for some forced plot points that forcefully make the MC out to be really awesome/ beautiful/ smart; but what Japanese novel doesn't? It's a very funny, cute story, that more than any great plot or great writing has something that I look for most in a novel. I want to keep reading more, its just light enough for casual reading and you can eat these chapters up.

Just started reading, but I'm appalled at how some people are downplaying the extent of having a stalker. Asahi is a stalker; there is no other way to describe her. And I'm rather baffled at how some people think that's not an issue. It's clearly a huge problem. Asahi may be the same age as Ruri and may not have done "anything that bad" besides ostracizing and isolating her, but justifying stalking is plain terrible.

Note: Read the LN not the WN here, so there’re a few differences from what I read and what’s here. The LN has several significant differences that help the story make more sense, and actually gives more of a story.
Spoiler

I skipped around bits of the WN to check so heads up; as far as I saw the MC is considerably more dense in LN

[collapse]

While the characters and setting are admittedly a bit plain, and there’s not very much of an actual plot; it’s mostly a nice read and is different enough to not blend in when you’ve read a lot of ln/wn.

There are some illogical things in the beginning that don’t make any sense but they do (mostly) get proper explanations later on as you find out more about the world and the characters circumstances.
Spoiler

But in the LN at least she’s denser than lead and it gets irritating quick. Feel bad for Jade.

I'm very fond of Mary Sue stories, as long as the plot and the FL personality is likeable. The story started really good: the plot was a familiar summoning, with the MC being thrown out of a country by corrupt royalty, yada yada... But it had a lot of charm.

But from chapter 30 onwards the plot starts to deteriorate. And I am really prejudiced with shoujo FL's in japanese stories since they are usually written with a meek and wood-like personality. Srsly, if the FL is overpowered why does she... more>> need to keep falling into obvious traps and acting like a dansel in distress with every single character other than the ML?

There's a point in which her passivity just went beyond what's acceptable. Its not cute, its not likeable... And honestly? It doesn't fit MC.

Since the beginning she is a person with low self-steem because of her backstory, but she should be able to know how to impose herself. Instead... how come... the more powerful she becomes the more useless she becomes. Ayah. <<less

Seems to be a pretty standard shoujo. Around twenty chapters are spent explaining why MC has OP powers and is a love interest of the greatest guy in the world. Then the focus switches to working through relationship problems. I find that to be bland but if you like shoujo then this seems reasonable enough. Not outstanding by any stretch but not terrible. Just average.

A lot of the negative reviews can be attributed to the interesting setup. I was rather disappointed to see this change in the same manner as... more>> "Breaking Off the Engagement? Bring it on!", but I'm not the target audience.

Basically, the MC starts off as being unfairly picked on, then it is revealed to the reader (but not the MC at first) that she has powers that can change the world. Typical build-up for a story with some kind of 'chosen one'. But then all of the political stuff gets resolved in a few chapters so that the MC has more time to think about romance, making friends, and fixing misunderstandings. For those of us who came for angst, political intrigue, or action, this is a huge disappointment. For those who want to see a bullied girl find happiness in new surroundings, this will probably be a fun read. It's just a matter of what you're here to see. <<less

I don't understand why some people insist that the main character is a Mary Sue and decide that this is a bad novel. What does the main character has? Appearance and magical talent, that is all, at least all mentioned about her until the first 20 chap. In fact, there are many people that have both talent and appearance, so this kind of MC is not unrealistic. Remember, she is the Saint summon from the other world, you could be a s*upid reader if you expect her to be an... more>> average-looking or powerless girl. She can have many weakness that the author hasn't mentioned yet. <<less

Nice novel, the MC is the typical mary sue but she is not annoying. Others characters are also nicely depicted. It's a novel to enjoy calmy, not the most original but a pleasant read nevertheless....

Translations is also done correctly and is really pleasant, the only bemol is that it's not regular, but except for that, everything else is perfect!

Can't wait to see what happens next.
