When a futuristic scientist is transported into the body of a young man in a fantasy world, his curiosity and desire for power push him to pursue magic. In a world without mercy, Leylin has no qualms about doing anything if it means benefits. He is cold, ruthless and calculating, never forming attachments that could impede his ultimate goal…

Honor? Who needs that… Hmmm… that guy seems too powerful for me to take on now… I better keep a low profile for now.

You want me to help you? What do I get out of it? Nothing? Bye.

Hmm… that guy looks like he might cause me problems in the future. Better kill him before he becomes a problem…

A one in a thousand story. Absolutely unique. The story is wonderfully unique, the protagonist stays consistent, and his agenda is always the overwhelming priority. He does not get distracted in saving damsels in distress, and if he does, Leylin exploits them without any qualms. He does not rage against the injustices of the world, instead he perpetrates them as one of its most insidious cogs.

There's no need for constant Justifications in this story, as is the case in most other stories. Leylin doesn't need to soothe his bleeding soul... more>> with comforting words of 'fighting against evil' that, and 'suppressing injustice' this. For Leylin, there's no limitations. From seduction, to genocide, to conspiring against the Gods, Leylin has done it all, and as the story progresses Leylin will do even more.

The setting is unique, but what makes this story tick has to be the protagonist. His interpersonal actions leave the reader invested in his progress. Which is truly rare, as most other times, one cannot but help wish death upon the 'hero'. <<less

The fact that this book only has a 4.1 overall rating is a travesty. It's simply fantastic once you get past the initial stages. The MC is rational, sometimes cruel, yes, but completely rational. He does what is SMART instead of the idiocy other authors pretend is "smart." This MC is more realistic, too, because he knows when to back down and when to attack.

Just read it. This is the most perfect form of a realistic book in the Xianxia genre. Still wish-fullfilment-y enough for those who want it, and... more>> it also breaks so many tropes of the genre in fantastic fashion.

I have not been motivated to write a review for a long time, and I am very selective with what I think is really good. This book is. <<less

This novel is probably one of the best I read. The MC is ruthless and quite greedy (Some of the traits I like). I love a villain type MC since I kinda dislike goody and justice bearer MC. Full with action and adventure and romance is probably doesn't exist since the MC is pretty much eccentric and power loving character. (I doesn't really like romance in general) He kinda like a douche but I guess that's normal in the mage world?

I don't understand people. This novel is recommended all over the place so many times, and always like it's this masterpiece that everyone should read. WHAT THE HELL.

First the positives:

The story is interesting. That's it. There are lot's of worlds and stuff and that can make it kind of interesting. Really everything else is bad, so I will not bore you with a lot of details, but explain clearly why you should NOT read this novel.

The main character is bland. He is as 1D as it gets. He is absolutely... more>> just a robot, never really does anything for feelings, either good or bad, he just kind of exists. EVERYONE has interests. Being alive is not an interest, but this dude just kind of exists so he can live longer. At some point it's an valid question if the MC is him or the AI that he uses to literally everything he needs (not want, since he doesn't want anything, needs). There is absolutely zero character growth from the start to the end. He doesn't mature, he doesn't get hobbies, he doesn't have love interests, he just kind of got around reacting to other people actions through the story.

And now the story itself. My oh my. Everything is just amateur. The powers are bland. The writing is bad. The arcs are all bland. You don't have epic moments, you don't feel a single emotion for a ANY character in the novel. This reads like a report about this dude getting from level 1, to level 2, level 3 etc... And there are so many plot holes, just so many.. How can you even make this many plot holes in a story without a main arc? Clearly the writer just kind of wrote along the story without anything planned, so every bit of "cunning" or "clever plot" is something a kid could see coming a mile ahead.

With that being said, my ratings for the main components of the story are as follow:

World Building:2/10

Story: 0/10

Characters: -1/10

Writing: 1/10

Main character: 0/10 <<less

This novel is not for everyone. This is one of the rare novels where the author actually assumes the personality of the MC and does not deviate from it and never makes a compromise by doing a random act of kindness that will make you roll your eyes (because you know this is a selfish MC). This is one of the force behind the novel and might very well be the reason the novel is for you but it also is the source of many problems I have with this... more>> novel.

The MC is reincarnated from "our world", but he comes from somewhere in the future where AI chips are a thing and implented in the brain of most people. He is reincarnated in the body of someone who just died and who was on his way to a recruitement point for talented adepts.

The MC had his soul fuse with his AI chip when he reincarnated. This means he has an ally that will help him out (very much like Age of Adepts). It's his main cheat, and as usual it gives him an overwhelming advantage on others. Except this one is even cheatier than most cheat and it requires some suspension of belief on our part.

The Good points

  • The MC's personality is consistent. Some people categorises him as neutral unlawful. I categorize him as Selfish Evil AssHat. His personality is very dry, he will NEVER help anyone unless it requires absolutely no effort and ressources on his part. "Good will" by helping someone is a ressource for him, but its value, for him, is at the bottom of the list compared to any other ressources. He doesn't mind acquiring some, but not at the cost of anything else. This goes in the good category because the author actually assumes his choice here. If you are in for this MC's personality, you will not be disapointed by random acts of kindness. EVER. An exemple, if he meet someone in the wood in need of help (let's say a princess) he is likely to kill that princess, her helpers, the purchasers so that his presence in this part of the wood remains a secret. He is also witty and is conscious of the kind of guy he is and will be joke about it.
  • The MC is EVIL. He will kill innocent people to protect himself, he will use cities as hostage, he will betray for loot, he will torture, he will do nasty dark experiments. This is in the "good list" since it shouldn't be a bad aspect by itself, expecially if you are looking for this kind of MC.
  • The idea behind the chip is a good one, similar to Age of Adepts in how it's implemented. There are problems with it though, see in "bad points".
  • Not as many 'lucky encouters" for treasures as other novels. The reason though is that the AI chip is so overwhelming he doesn't need as much other things.
  • The translation is very good.
Bad points

  • The MC's personality. That's right, it's both in the good part for the fact that the author assume his choice, but in the bad because the MC is too dry. I think the author went too far, but this is dependent on your own taste. I did say that he will never do anything to help if it cost him anything, this is true for his friends, family, allies. When he meet someone, even in a friendly encounter he will first try to estimate if he can kill him in battle. He will never trust anyone, even s*aves he has complete control over. He will never be loyal to anything or anyone.
  • His inability to trust or be loyal means he will never settle down, he will never build anything but his own strength. The author actually teases us with the MC starting small businesses, or a manor with people but it is always dropped very fast. Because the MC is always looking out for ways to gain a lot without doing much. Meaning, robbing people, betraying people, and so on.
  • The chip... Is too overkill. This is a black note for me. The author tries to pass it as something scientific. The MC was a scientist in his previous world, the chip was there to help him out. But it does too much. There are acceptable things "memorizing books in seconds", compiling data for MC, giving him his stats, but it goes too far. The chip can create new spells or improve existing ones without believably enough data as the basis, it can purges poisons and toxins from the MC's body (how?), it can estimate the MC's chance of winning a fight without any data (first meeting with someone, the chip can't even give the MC the stats of the user, his experience, power lvl, equipement, skills, but it can guess he has 69% chances of winning ?). Scan for dangers way outside the MC's senses (how?). The AI CHip will even do the MC's work in fights "Go backwards one step, turn 15 degrees right and attack with the right hand at a 35 degree angle"... The chip is a huge deus ex machina device and it is used a LOT to pull out solutions out of thin air. It would have been alright if the author assumed his choice, but he is trying to pass it off as a scientific device and it bothers me.
  • No character dvpt. The only character dvpt you have... Is the MC's strength improving. There is nothing else. The MC will never get really close to anyone. Side characters are here to be forgotten or killed very soon. The MC assumes anyway that everyone will betray him so he never gets close to anyone.
One of the consequences of those bad points is that I eventually noticed that what I was reading was meaningless. He will be alone, and the only progress I will ever see in this story is the MC's strength. There is nothing else compelling us to read. And that means that in 100 chapters, I will just see the MC in another place. Betraying, stealing, doing evil thing until he has pissed enough people that he has, again, to go to another place and do it all over again. <<less

This is one of my favorite novels, the MC has a personality that can be described with one sentance "He always thinks about himself first", no matter what he does, he always thinks about the losses first and gains after, and then decides what to do.

You can not call our MC rightous, if he had to choose between his child or himself he would probably choose himself, I can't confirm this since it has not happened (from writing this C687).

There are other series which also have the idea with the... more>> AI Chip but done differently (can't confirm, I don't read them) like : The Wizard World (created before WMW) and Age Of Adepts (created after WMW).

Also, people seem to not understand that our MC is a HEARTLESS BASTARD, BUT that does not mean he does not find a lover. <<less

First, for all the people whow gave this novel a bad review based on the MC being an amoral protaginist, you must remember the author never said we were going to read about a good protagonist right from the start (the synopsis made it pretty clear). Thus your review becomes a little bit unjustified for the story. Secondly, For all who call the MC an idiot who only depends on his AI chip and is not really a scientist, well let me tell you this, the MC in the... more>> beginning had no resources to do any of his experiments or yet to learn more about the world so he had to depend on his chip but as the time passes and he becomes more stronger, he conducts many experiments, learns new things, gather rare loot and ancient magic data like a true scientist. Also for those who are irked by his usage of his AI, let me ask you this, when you study don't you depend on your computer to find all data you require for you and even do very lengthy calculations of various problems on it, thus the MC only uses the AI to gather all data and do complex lengthy calculations while he uses the generated data to REDUCE his wastage in experiments and help him calculate the various probabilities in any situation that could harm him.

Third, the world of magus is huge and every magus is not only powerful but also has almost super computer level as they become stronger themselves thus MC has to make lots of creative plans and techniques to deal with his increasingly powerful and equally crafty enemies.

Fourth, I love the MC because he does everything in his power to avoid unnecessary conflict like any rational person, instead of offending every person who even sneezes the wrong like other xiania MCs.

Fifth, the lack of plot armours and lack pf repetion of plot (no s*upid tournament arc every 100 chapters) that happens to make this novel very good to read about and really enjoyable.

Sixth, As the MC is amoral person from the beginning he does do pretty gruesome experiments from time to time to further his goals but won't do anything to insane or evil but just enough to make look a cool villains character type. Also he is not perfect and makes mistakes like not person (some mistakes even caused a full reduction of his abilities due to his s*upid and reckless action during his travles)

Seventh, WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEM WITH EXCLAMATION MARKS AND WHY WOULD USE THAT AS A REASON TO LOWER THE RATINGS <<less

This is one of the very few novels that really deserves a 5/5, granted not "top tier" of 5s, but none the less still a 5.

I had my doubts about this novel when I read the description. MC seemed too cold and heartless for me to like this, since I do like stories with followers that have character, charisma and isn't completely useless all the time. (I Eat Tomatoes, his works for example)

I was wrong and right at the same time. There's no side characters that are "followers" of... more>> MC that follows him around, but this isn't a bad thing, not at all.
It fits his personality. He isn't overly cold, he got "friends" but usually it's a mutually beneficial friendships; Example being s*x friends.
Normally I like romance more, but it's done in a very great way here, as his personality is a bit... well lets just say it fits.

Once he splits up with his "friends" and acquaintances, they're not totally forgotten afterwards, as some do pop up during the story once or twice again, but you wont feel that need of "I wonder what that character is doing now" because of the how they were represented during the story.

His presonality and logical mind grew on me as I kept reading this, and even though there's not much of a story line besides watching as he grows stronger and figures sh*t out, it's still enough as all the terminology of powerleves, abilites and such is explained in a very unique and interesting way.

All this and his powerful AI-chip that adds another flavour to the mix, makes this one of the greatest novels so far.

How this story develops and pushes forward will be a very interesting thing to read. At 278 chapters, I can only recommend this novel. <<less

just writing this review because I see so many low or negative review. Do these people even read tags before starting novel. Its literally in tag that MC is anti-hero and anti hero doesnt mean like that of japanese novels where MC saves the world but still acts like edgy 15 years old. The novel is written brilliantly especially so for those who are just sick of genric trope like, MC has his marriage annuleed, revenge. MC saves girl, MC gets hunted down by every sect there is, revenge., MC... more>> is arrogant and doesnt bend his knee for anyone even if it means death. Young masters trying to fk with MC in every market scene. Fk wmw is such a refreshing novel. <<less

This is a novel you can't enjoy properly unless you can gloat at other peoples misfortune and the absolute ruthlessness of the MC and how everything is under his control most of the time. Bring morals into this and you'll end up like all the whiners who give low ratings because they rate the MC as a scumbag :P If you can find enjoyment in his actions, you will love this. If not, you might as well not read it, because it's not a novel for you, it's that simple.

I... more>> find it quite enjoyable, it's different than normal novels and you just have to sit along for the ride where everyone gets screwed over. Bring a judgmental attitude and modern day morals if you want to feel like it's a chore to read. Hell, although there isn't a "comedy" tag, it's really satisfying and funny in a way, it's really dark humor though, the type of thing that shouldn't be amusing but when you put yourself in the seat of the MC, you will feel very satisfied and amused as he schemes against everyone.
Spoiler

Like the close-to-parody event where he pretended to be the grandpa in the ring and brought people up as heroes or similar stuff only to kill all of them in the end to get a karma/fate coin or whatever it was named, he was acting like the typical benevolent grandpa in the ring who helps the "main characters", only that his goal was to end them all, and unlike when that happens to the MC in a real novel, the grandpa wins here and leylin succeeds with his "evil" plot against them

Really, it's a novel that is REALLY hit or miss. You will probably either hate or love it :D <<less

Amazing novel with more amazing MC.

Those who say MC isn't a scientists because he uses ai chip are fools, which scientist doesn't use computer, MC uses ai chip as it is perk which comes with his transmigration, who doesn't wanna.

MC is realistic man who doesn't do anything unless its profitable or necessary thats how this is the amazing novel, you will not regret if you read it

Very interesting novel, my favorite thing, the universe is not Chinese heavy themed (I recall only 1 or 2 mentions of ying-yang), incorporating things from different cultures and mythologies and adapting them, special characters and names from different series and media embedded seamlessly into the story, and, most important, your scale of the world is continuously adjusted, its like going from a rural town to a city magnified 10 times exponentially.

the protagonist stays true to himself, he really is a neutral evil, he is not just a MC in plot... more>> armor that can slay anyone, he is smart enough to not get in trouble and get killed, survival first, then benefits, but then, even as he is, he almost died several times because of some miscalculations.

I acknowledge the novel is not without flaws, slow an tedious at times, but that's just a small portion in the scale of how vast and complete is the history, in general this novel is not for everyone (please read the tags before starting), but if you are tired of the copy-pasted MC and the heavy Chinese themes you will love this novel. <<less

Funny part is all these people saying the main character isn't a scientist all the work is done by the AI chip, 100 bucks says if they had the AI chip they wouldn't even know what it's features meant nor what to do with the info it provides, AI chip: particles at atomic level discovered, transferring data Average person: wtf? what am I supposed to do with this?

But that's the internet, most people here seem to use buzzfeed as their news, science, political, and just about everything else news outlet... more>> and think that because a buzzfeed test says they know their science that they really do...

Great story, main character doesn't rely on plot armor, doesn't add to the list of enemies every time there's a damsel in distress, doesn't put up with bs, has a 'cheat' that requires the MC to have actual intelligence to use, most people don't understand this because the author doesn't give all the technical details, the Ai chip is just a super computer that evolves with the main character as he gets stronger, it comes with features like an atomic microscope and the like that requires prior knowledge to use, ik surprising right, not every bum on the internet can use things like that, unlike what they would like you to believe. The AI chip provides the user with info, what the user does with that info is up to the user and requires the user to understand said info.

In the end, the MC was a scientist. The reason the author chose that is to explain why the MC has the knowledge and part of his personality, if you read other novels with the AI chip trope, you may find the AI chip not as powerful, although in part because its actually not as good, those are also consumer grade and first generation versions, the people using them are also your average joe. This MC comes from a world alot higher tech then our own and of those from other novels, the AI chip has been around for a while and has become quite powerful, mix that with the MC being a scientist and you get WMW. Just remember, the AI chip isn't a true AI, its only a rudimentary AI that can only follow orders, has no mind of its own, and can't think, without a user that can use it to its fullest its only a computer, like ones your using to read this, give that computer to someone who can really use it and you will find the difference is stunning. <<less

Amazing. This is truly a masterpiece that everyone deserve to be able to read. This is a true fantasy world, where everything is posible and where incredible powers, artefacts, items and beings can be found. The MC as much others is a rencarnated person and has some cheat, the I.A Chip which analise and makes simulations for him, but it is really far from making him OP. The MC takes his time to slowly growth from a Rank 0 acolite to rank 3 and then becoming a magus rank 1,... more>> then he slowly advance wanting to be a Magus Rank 9, a inmortal and omnipotent being. Leylin's magic teacher are initialy rank 1 magus and it takes more than 100 chapter in order to just reach their mighty powers which is totaly diferent from most MC that become stronger than them in a few chapters cofcofGDKcofcof.

Every time the MC advance his magus rank he does that after doing some risky adventures, makes discoveries, obtein precious resourses and scheming in order to survive agains magus even stronger than him until he finaly get's the power to deal with them. He is very smart and calculative, he try to not provoke magus stronger than him unless he doesn't have a choise or make sure he can gain something and even with the weaker ones he doesn't try to bother them unless he has a reason to. He will do what he nees to rise in rank but even then he doesn't pointless kill if he doesn't need to. He helps people who treat him right or the women he bed if he is able as long it isn't too costly for him, but if posible he always try to pay them back or even take revenge for them later. I think I would consider him a chaotic neutral character, even thought he likes to be seens almost as a demon king for his enemies when he has finaly the power to confront them.

This is not a story of romance, even thought Leylin marry someone, go to bed with diferent girls as the story progress he is cold about it and doesn't sucumb to love, won't do something reckless for them either, but if it is posible he makes sure they are safe and happy. Even after 600 chapters he still remember and care for every single of them.

The story is also not repetive at all. There is always diferent to do, a new place to go and new discoveries. There is even other worlds to travel! You can also expect just the unexpected, the story always find something to surprise you at every corner, but still nothing that came from nothing, everything was hinted, planed and developed even thought you didn't notice it's importance or expected how it was going to be used.

The MC belives in the law of the jungle and that he can only rely in his own strenght to save himself, he never is expecting to be saved in the crucial moment for someone else. Also there isn't a powerful person coming to guide him every step in order to make him stronger. The IA needs to be feed with information and can only do some simulations and analisis for him with the information it has saving him time but the how to growth from one rank to another has to be discovered, planed and developed by him. The IA can only tell him what plan has the best chances and how to do certains parts in the most safest and proper way. <<less

As much as I kinda understand people upset/unhappy about slow storyline (which doesn't bother me though), I find other critics unwarranted.

Finally there is a MC who is thinking logically all the time, is not some kind of bulls**** defender of justice where practically everyone else (except 1-2 other people) is shitty arrogant bastard who must or should (and will) be killed. If you don't like that (or believe all stories must be like that) - then don't read.

He is someone who actally thinks ahead and does not kill all at... more>> random, but actually weights benefits. Reacts according to circumstances-won't help any girl he just so happens to meet/know, but treats his friens well (but not to the point of doing everything for them, unlike some MCs). And again, he is not defender of justice, is actually selfish (aren't we all...) and is well avare messing with other people can get you killed quickly (which before mentioned MCs don't or just miraculosly survive). NO SUCH LUCK HERE. But on the other hand, he is not some serial killer, he does what he wants and mostly must do in order to survive and improve. To lazy to bother with overdoing things, as actually hates being in the spotlight due to too many secrets. Takes revenge if ''on route'', othervise won't make extra tour for it (so much other stuff to do, like research).

Probably most realistic MC I ever read about. No crazy mood swings (ok, not that he isn't susceptible to them, but he controls them better than most). Actually amongst most moral characters as beauties and s*aves are easily obtainable and unlike common trend he treats them humanely (food, accomodations, money, sometimes freedom).

There were comments about A.I. chip and also people saying he is ''not like scientist at all''. He uses EVERYTHING that he has at his diposal (meaning A.I. chips functions) to analyze, improve/discover and store in database. Tries stuff repeatedly, hypothesizing, trying, reanalizing etc. That is what scientists actally do!!!! (Including reducing and replacing when and where possible with simulations, as well as using computers to help analyze HUGE amounts of data/info - as scientific as someone can get.) Well, actually he just follows logic but it's scientific enough.

And A.I. chip isn't the worst of things as it is NOT OP, as its limits are based on MCs power level and especially familiarity with its functions. Comparing to other MCs, it has NO artifact with heven defying power/ ancient knowledge/ old gramps which/who would tell him what to do to become super powerful in extra short time. If that makes you unhappy then screw yourself.

It's amazing story and I wish that there would be more like that. <<less

I understand why some people would rate this so poorly. The MC is a villain. It would be best for new readers to enter this novel with the mindset of accompanying a villain's journey but damnit, it's one of the most intelligently written novels on this site. For most OP artifacts of xianxia/ wuxia/idk his AI chip is literally just a computer. He can store and search data, analyze them via visual scanning (at first he had to eat things before the scan), overall just a reasonably advanced programming for someone who came from the future. I don't understand why some commenters would look for 'good conflict' when those things do occur.
Spoiler

He kills someone then gets chased by some patriarch

Unless you're looking for hypocritical MCs who are too concerned with face because that's what most MCs, who fights over every little thing, are: hypocrites. For human relationships, do you see a romance genre? No? Congratulations! You can read! Look, I hate harem but I don't go to every harem novel and rage because they contain harem. No romance or friendship means exactly no romance or friendship.

If anything, this novel gets plus points for that. I won't give 5stars normally but this site lowered my standards. The MCs on other novels punish other poeple who do the same thing they do, and they feel righteous for it. WMW doesn't punish, it shamelessly tells the readers that they're the same scum with similar values - it's a question on who's the most paranoid, turtle, intelligent and lucky scum there is. The author thought this through, and I highly recommend this for readers with darker inclinations.

Oh, where to begin with this...

Let's get this out of the way first - the synopsis is *terrible*, and not very meaningful in terms of the story, but it does sum up the author's perspective quite well. Time after time, the author will plunge right out of the story to go 'See? This isn't like other novels! It's so much better, because [insert trope here] isn't true. Only my novel does it right!'. He makes allusions to other novel tropes, and then takes the time to mock them - because... more>> clearly that's what readers are looking at in a story! He will also take the time to wax lyrical on how the character's such an *amazing* edgelord - even leaving out how that's not exactly a good thing, the fact that rather than subtly integrating it into the narrative, or letting us *see* it, he instead takes the time to *tell* us this. In lurid detail. Did I mention the exposition, by the way? Oh *god*, the exposition. A number of chapters appear to be made of little *but* that, just a constant stream of exposition, explanations of why he did what he did (because apparently his target audience is kindergartners and need their hands held), and pointless statements made directly to the reader. Sometimes it seems like a personal rant rather than a story.

The character is also needlessly paranoid, and like all edgy 'badass' protags, a point is made of paranoia being the ONE TRUE PATH... except there are clear advantages to standing out even in this world he crafted by himself, and quite frankly even in the world he's created, the fact that any random nobody is willing to go gung-ho with mu*der over the table scraps he demonstrates himself to have basically make it so a functional society is impossible. He also makes it a point to mock the idea of the usefulness of being in a group... despite him being much happier and more successful the time he was in a group than he was alone. Whoops. Did I mention he forms his own group, thereby proving himself even more of a hypocrite with regards to his little rant on personal power being everything and forming groups being meaningless?

And then there's the interactions between characters and the emotional depth of the story. Primarily, the lack of it. Many chapters go by with nothing happening besides 'my [plot device] helped me learn this spell, or increase my stats this much, or level up'. Friendly interactions with characters are scarce, and even then boil down to nothing much of significance - no emotional moments from our machine-like, seemingly autistic protagonist, no sirree. The only indication that he might just be human is the mentions of s*x here and there... and even that really just ends up being nothing much.

With all this, you might wonder why I gave it two stars rather than one. Well, that's because the mechanics are still somewhat interesting, and the story can draw one in much like constantly grinding in WoW would - watching stats grow up, seeing your character get stronger and acquire more stuff, etc. Basically, read this when you have nothing else to do/read, and free time besides. I wouldn't recommend it otherwise, though - literary masterpiece this is definitely *not*.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention a few other things. For one thing, him being a 'scientist' is very much an informed attribute, given his consistent failure to actually act like one till the part I've read. Also, to elaborate on the author's attempts at smug condescension through putting down other novel tropes - there is one chapter *specifically* dedicated to establishing that with the exiled noble girl. Said chapter also has no actual purpose within the story, not even for characterization given it's just driving home a character trait that's already been emphasized several times. So the author actually created an entire chapter, the sole purpose of which was to mock other novel tropes and establish and already established character trait. That's how pathetic it is. <<less

Like many other people I can't understand why some people are rating this low simply because the protagonist is cold-blooded. He isn't even cold-blooded, he is just realistic. He is out there for himself. If you were sent to another world would needlessly put your life at risk for saving other people? That's his personality and he sticks to it

Just by reading the first few chapters you can tell the author has put a lot of thought into it. In this magus world, magi are like scientists and do things... more>> rationally. Its not just the MC but everyone and that's because magi are supposed to be rational and not hot-blooded idiots. This setting is a lot more realistic than other xianxia. <<less

If blandness was a thing about novels, this would have taken the top spot. While its another of those transported to other earth with a supreme treasure which could be interesting, it falls flat with the story telling. I was constantly trying to read ahead to see if there was anything meaningful in the story. Mind you, its not "slow" like World of Cultivation just bland.

It was interesting at the beginning, but now it became boring. The MC has an A.I. Chip (OP artifact, talisman, etc.), but the main purpose of the chip is to keep the MC away from trouble. The MC himself is still weak, so he keeps a low profile. There has been a few fights, but not much. I do not know what is the MC's goal. The MC is not ruthless like other have mentioned. He is a choir boy compared to Yun Che or Chu Feng. However, the MC... more>> is heartless, who does not care about his friends. <<less
