this is dark novel. It has alot of similarity with WMW. (Less evil and more depressing).

Pros:

  1. The MC care for his friends and family
    Spoiler

    adopted children's. (3)

    [collapse]
  2. The MC is rational and can adept to different situations.
  3. there are no black and white here. (There are no villain character that are villains just because plot need it). You can see reason and goals behind action from characters.
  4. no romance
Cons:

  1. doesn't develop possible arc's
Spoiler

he explored different worlds but goes back really fast and just mention it few times after that.

he got invited to a powerful hotel club but never goes back there again.

I decided to post a review cause this novel is really good and I see a lot of people comparing this to wmw. I'm not sure which came first wmw or this one but I see someone saying that this came first, I've read both (i read wmw first then I just found this wizard world). And I quit wmw (too s*upid considering the author only copied ideas). All wmw changed is that MC there is too concealing, I mean he is too secretive of his abilities. Wizard World's MC... more>> also hides his abilities but not all the time. Wmw's plot moved like a snail because of MC being too afraid to be known, being too s*upid and being a hypocrite. It made me so impatient I had to quit since I can see what the next chapters for wmw are: experiments, more experiment, gotta go look for something, experiment again, gotta hide cause might get discovered, purely those boring stuff.

Wizard world has its balance. You have the summarized experiments, the research, the fights, relationship, side characters. Those are things you cant see in wmw (you wont remember a side character in wmw, no side character at all, purely MC being hypocrite all the way. Everything is about him, no family, no friends etc.). <<less

Such realism in a fantasy world. Unlike those sunny-side up in JP isekai novels.

You know Warlock of the Magus World? This is it predecessor as it was written by the same author.

But unlike that this one is a hidden gem. Full of mystery, strange, tragedy, competition, complication, complex strings to this plot.

... more>> Magic is undeniably a bigger picture here like those in Harry Potter but it is stronger and much more active.

The world is harsh especially in the wizard side. Where nobody trust each other in the name of power and pride. Wizards are selfish but trade each other in conforming towards research and inheritance.

MC is calculated, cold, smart, tactician, brilliant, real man and strong.

In that world he'll rise to the top to uncover mysteries, baffling questions, confronting dire situation and face overwhelming odds.

This is a story that it is good as it gets. <<less

I think this story is really interesting even if it is like WMW (which was released later).

Ich would say it's somehow like WMW but the MC walks the wizard (not really warlock but he playes with his bloodline) way an not 100% warlock way as in WMW.

The story is a little brutal through the story so far and the MC is no idiot and does everything to advance.

What I sometimes not really like is that this story and WMW are at some part exacly the same (Both MC do create... more>> potions have AI Chip, Play with their bloodline, Both need some potions to advance...). In the end you could say its WMW just faster and MC POV as Wizard. <<less

The beginning was very interesting. It was copied from WMW but I was fine with it.

The problems started after word

Spoiler

the AI system is only useful in it's abilities in the fist 20 chapters. It only helps him in his physical enhancement. It's basically useless for his wizard training.

The story turns bland. Characters are quickly introduced and left behind. The world is outrageously big and isolated. After the start, the MC is always running, thinking he is weak, and he needs to get stronger. He barely gets any better.

[collapse]

I lost interest after 50 chapters. Held onto 20 more to see if it picks up. Stopped after 70.

2 stars. <<less

I read wmw before this one and I don't know this novel was the foundation for wmw. When I give it a go, actually there is a tons of reality in this book which gave wmw strong foundation I think. Though the MC is slightly humane I think it's just that he a MC came from a caring home and had some sanity and he didn't start his journey for power. He just want to protect his family and live peacefully but the time changes everything he started to seek... more>> for knowledge and he didn't get darkness affinity like MC in wmw. Overall the plot was great. <<less

First part was enjoyable, but the later part leave me a bitter feeling.

Things I don't like:

    • In a chapter sometimes there were several parts where plot moves to different location or time. What I dislike was the Author keeps using long description to describe group of people or the MC anonymously first before giving us the names. These happening numerous times, so it became really annoying
    • Angele got power up from rank 2 to rank 8 very fast. Half the story (300 chapters+) for rank 2 and probably less than 100 chapters to rank 8. The story after rank 8 was like many short stories cramped into this story.
    • The church arc was lame. No revisit to what was that big scale that teleported him. Here he's already rank 8, but having a hard time fighting vs church's minion. Power scale was f*cked up here
    • Angele having a hard time to chase after the 'Axis time' traitor. It took him 2-3 months and in the end still failed. And also the arc that he revisit all of his family/ friend's places was ridiculous. Rank 8 was the same as Realm Guardian's rank. Just to visit the places he spent very long time to do it (Note: as realm raiders, they invade other realms for resources. If his speed only the same as the ship speed -> ship that travel from west coast to central continent vice versa, it doesn't make sense at all. How big was a realm. It mentioned that when they invade other realms, their ranks was only at rank 6 coz of realm pressure)
    • Too many anonymous actions done by Angele. Everything about him was rumor or legend. I'm frustrated that he hid about himself too much like to Vivian
    • No following story on Liv, Lyn, Henn, Stigma or Arisma
    • Cruel and dislikable MC : (
    • Note for translator if you read this. If you translate chinese names you don't put family name last! Like Song Yu, Song Yun, Song Yuyin became Yu Song, Yun Song etc. It's weird to read for eg Adam Smith become Smith Adam. Just leave it as culture name structure, you shouldn't switch the name around.

I give this novel 4 stars because of its very lousy plot. Every arcs and sub-plots could be good raw material for every novel writer. No reason, no plot connection, no world building, no character development, no continuity.

Each arc & subplot is finished in itself.

Not many dark and inhuman novel could do this.

Two things really gave me hope about this novel compared to other similar novels; Firstly, the MC actually seemed to care about other people from time to time. Secondly, the AI chip was so weak it really was only helpful for slow analysis which made it more uncertain about how MC would progress as he slowly amassed more information along the way.

In my opinion the first ~400 chapters was pretty enjoyable but after that the story got messy, MC's personality was jumping WILDLY between caring for random people and being... more>> fine with mass genocide, and the pacing became worse as it suddenly included a lot more side tracks and multiple perspectives of the same events.

Soft spoiler trying to not mention any details but I just have to comment on this example:
Spoiler

I almost lost my mind when the perspective jumped to Turin (random side character) TWICE while the big portal was opening. Among all the times I wondered "what could that dude be up to right now" while reading this novel, it was never about Turin and it was MOST CERTAINLY NOT during the climax of the main story events which already had a slow progression.

So this was my first cold, ruthless MC novels and to be honest, I'm not really opposed to this character. The MC was not actually evil at all throughout the novel (except this part where he started eating elves just because they were in the way). He's calm collected and tries to not involve innocent people in his adventures which is pretty great.

The only problem in this novel for me was how lonely it is. The MC does not really care about others, and most relationships are just a small... more>> rock in his path. It made me sad, which is why the reason this novel is 4 stars and no 5 is an entirely subjective decision on my part. I know some people prefer this lone wolf novel, but it lessens the "greatness" of the MC to me as a cultivator. I guess the way to word it in my head was that this novel was not "impressive" enough. In general, there are no real cons to the novel, but it can get pretty boring because of how unimpressive it was. But of course, this is an entirely subjective decision because I know this genre is pretty popular. I think I'm just going to stick to my Er Gen novels and not read WMW. <<less

The story is similar to Warlock of the Magus World. This story was written before WMW, so arguably WMW is a copy, but (imho) better version. This story follows a transmigrated MC from Earth to magic world. There were some meaningless side stories and side characters, but overall the arcs contribute toward the ending.

I did not like the translation and editing on webnovel. The quality is so-so. I wish I could find the raw and read it instead of the translated mess. The translators/editors seem to add or rewrite the... more>> story. The tone and vocabulary used came across as a bunch of teenagers speaking instead of 100s to 1000s years old wizard. Lots of typos and grammatical problems. Wrongly translated terms. It drove me crazy reading this mess. -1 star for the quality of translation. <<less

Super boring and idiotic.

MC is a complete idiot that gets everything.

He meets an assassin and instead of reporting him to the Guards he trains to kill him.

... more>> Out of some reason food gives him additional stats, but nobody else is able to get them like that.

Once he meets eleven trained people and he is able to kill all of them after not even four months of training.

Descriptions are all over the place and unnecessarily frequent of repeating.

He is constantly fantasizing about the girls around him that want him too but out of some reason he does not do it with them although he dreams constantly about them and even fondles some.

He gets a new weapon and within days he is a master of it. <<less

Despite the same premise of an all-powerful AI chip, The Wizard World feels less like Warlock of The Magus World, and more like A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality. Here, getting to the top is about quietly preparing, getting plans A to Z ruined, restarting plans K to Z plans, and waiting forever only for plan Z to work out... so let's just forget about plans K to Y. And that feeling certainly comes through.

That's an interesting take on powering up but definitely not the most exciting. And... more>> the pacing here seems worse than Get Lost's later novels, Mystical Journey and Way of the Devil. That's the reason why WMW is more popular than this novel despite ripping off the first arc from it. WMW is written to be more appealing--read, more exciting--to the hot-blooded core audience of power fantasy stories.

Still, I find it refreshing and more believable that the MC isn't as flashy or perfect as WMW's Leylin, falling prey to many things outside of his knowledge and control. It's not like anyone's gunning for him in particular; the world just doesn't revolve around the MC and instead marches to the beat of its own drum. That's a common theme in Get Lost's novels: the plot moving forward even as the MC does his own thing. There's a bunch of action once they meet but the resolution isn't necessarily satisfying.

There's also a greater sense of mystery about the worlds in Get Lost's novels if only because so many things seem to lead nowhere. Some might call this loose ends but on balance I find it to be more of a stylistic choice. <<less

MC transmigrates from a tech savvy world to a world of magic with his biochip and decides to make his goal being adventurous and exploring the world. But he seems to be limited by his situation/environment and must move from one place to another better one, rather being a freespirit or nomad.

I was in the mood to read something like WMW and heard that WMW was based on this novel so curious to find out whether others say was true I started reading, and my expectations were rather high. But... more>> yeah it fell short a bit and lacking compared to WMW. I'm still interested in some unanswered aspects brought up in the story, so hopefully it doesn't get forgotten. But I don't like tragedy, so this might be a deal-breaker if it's super bad.

TLDR;

MC doesn't have any lasting relationships so far; every side character is disappears after a while, so there is no harem.
Transmigrator MC adapts too easily in his new world.
Biochip is slow and not that great either.
The Author and Translator could've done a bit better, as there's some errors and odd word choices, but it's readable.
The story is a decent pace, and doesn't waste too many chapters per arc.
And yeah it's similar to WMW.

Long Version with spoilers I guess:
Spoiler

MC does not give any sort of effort to keep in contact with others such as his family, his lovers, friends, etc, so there isn't any lasting bonds and side characters get forgotten and are unimportant after a while.
Like I enjoyed the fatherly-son bond that was present in the beginning but MC basically cut it off, and he doesn't even offer to help out his father after becoming a wizard.

Also MC has flings and they end after having s*x XD. But I'm glad it's not like a s*upid harem full of useless people. >.<" But those who do have flings with MC seem to wind up dead later on.

He seems to accept his new life as is and doesn't have conflicting morals due to being from a different time period, neither does he express if he miss his past life or if he'd like to try to go back. It's just kind of well I have new body, new life, time to go live it.

MC's biochip is more like a storage and a slow scanner. MC also doesn't take advantage of his microchip much, like there was a part where he got upset at a maid not taking care of his books in his library....... Why does he need to store books so well, when he can just get the biochip to memorize everything? I guess he's a really slow reader or I guess the biochip isn't the copy and scan memorizing type.

The translation in general I felt was lacking and could've done better with word choice, and I did see some grammar mistakes here and there as some tiny words like "of" are excluded when needed. But readable.
It might be due to the author who throws me into confusion as well as it is a bit choppy and doesn't chapters don't transition quite too well from time to time.
Like in the early few chapters, MC and his fathers are rather informal; I'd expect a little more formal speech for nobles, and felt it was really weird for MC's father to use "my guy" instead of "one of my men" or servants or soldiers or knights.

There are some logical errors. One I remember being where MC takes a ship to the academy tower; which if I remembered right was like a 1 year or less trip.
But later one MC keeps telling himself well it'll take a few years to send a letter to his father, which I found rather BS cuz it didn't take him a few years to travel on ship to get to the academy in the first place. And I do not get why MC couldn't just send a letter anyways since MC is staying in the academy for more than a few years even if it took a few years.

Compared to WMW, TWW is a quicker read, the chapters I feel are shorter in comparison to WMW and the author doesn't waste much time on the love relationships and moves on rather quick after MC does the deed.
So far I'm very glad he didn't waste many chapters on side character's point of views, and it predominantly is MC's story.

It is very similar to WMW with the arcs and details sort of.
It's like a knight > academy > infuse ancient blood in self > become wizard > sees ancient monster in visions and becomes inheritor > takes on sort of different identity & joins secret guild sort of > travels back and forth from dream nightmare world of illusions > experiments galore

[collapse]

Note: I'll probably update this after I finish reading or if I finish reading. I just don't want to forgot my thoughts right now. <<less

Now I know why the Author of WMW calls himself The Plagiarist. And that's because he's actually making Re-quels or retelling of other Authors' works and then expanding its Worlds compared to the original. And given that they work under the same publisher, I believe they have a legal agreement between Authors that he's allowed to do so.

This novel start like generic other world story and move to school life that will throw your expectation out the window, after MC finish school life this novel change its genre to HORROR, every dungeon he gone for adventure feel like he just got himself into Fatal frame, this novel really good at this part, you will feel terror from those dungeon in horror way, not because enemy is strong but they are unknow.

MC's personal is ok, a bit hot head and not forgiving if anyone touch his scale but... more>> overall he isn't annoyed me, story maybe confuse in some part but not much important part so I'm fine with it.

Fun fact about this story:
Spoiler

it only story I read that necromancer can't raise zombie/skeleton, he even ran like no tomorrow when face with ghost, come on MC, you are necromancer and you can't even do anything about evil sprite. XD

Conclusion, it's ok novel that you can sit back read and joy, this novel horror done in a good way, it's don't make you feel disgusting like some horror novel, I could say horror part of this novel is gold for me. <<less

It has rather good start and even though the "Chip concept" was copied from WMW, the story had it's own strong points and ideas.

Sadly it's only the beginning because around 50-60 chapter starts the storyline where MC learns how to be a mage and well... the moment that arc starts it's direct copy paste of not only the chip concept but of the storylines as well. What's more the execution of this story is much worse as well.

Start was good but when story had turn like this I simply couldn't... more>> enjoy it anymore. Maybe if I didn't read WMW, I would be able to enjoy this one much more but well I did.

As to whatever story becomes good again afterwards... I don't know... I will probably try to pick it up again when I am bored and chapters stockpile. <<less

I didn't know when I read this it was the Protype of WOMW. Then you see the AI Chip, the stats, White/Dark Magicians/ Bloodline/ 2nd generation Son transmigration identity then it cl**ked and you will find more similarities as you go on, so you will also find out the flaws it had. Which the flaws would be covered by WOMW and makes it so much better. MC is much more kinder than MC in WOMW, also he's a foster father of some sort, he save alot of kids. But there's... more>> no pay back like he never sees them after except for 2 of them. The ending is also a bit meh which is similar to WOMW. MC II feel he lacked a goal all the time, which WOMW covered, but still I wasn't satisfy how it ended in general. Also MC here would be the first MC I read who **** his granddaughters + 40 times. That's weird and amazing in a way. This is a good read, but if you read WOMW, this would feel more like a prequel. So reading this makes you appreciate this author more because WOMW is made from this. <<less

Noble young master, Angele Rio dies and has his body inhabited by a Chinese Reincarnator with a Biochip. Where have I heard that before? Well sadly in this case the Chinese man lacks the desire to bring modern ideas to this backwards medieval fantasy world and lacks the competency to infer, plot or scheme. Constantly leaving himself open to the whims of death seeking adversaries and the all mighty Biochip.

Well at least Angele isn't OP and once the Wizardry kicks into full gear we get some pretty good battles. As... more>> he adopts a fairly unique combat method (Metal Mastery) with strengths and glaring weaknesses. Until the 2nd half, when the story shifts again, he switches specs to speedrun breakthroughs (Ancestral Bloodlines), old characters are forgotten and the MC must be strong enough to navigate through the chaotic mess that follows. <<less

Honestly having a hard time deciding between three and four stars. It's an enjoyable read with an amoral protagonist doing pretty much anything to gain power, but it has a lot of inconsistencies... the MC switches between being normal and totally as*xual randomly, things are introduced and then forgotten about, even direct unit conversions change from time to time. It starts out with the pacing of a >1000 chapter novel and then suddenly jumps to a much higher power level before slowing down again.

It's a very chaotic novel overall, but... more>> the MC does have bad things happen to him and the world doesn't totally revolve around him. I'd definitely recommend giving it a read, especially if you like WMW (WMW basically copied the first half) <<less
