It ain't bad per se, but it sure ain't no masterpiece. I liked how the MC doesn't progress insanely fast, but is still way better than any other of his level. All that went down the drain when he soloed the 20th floor boss at the first try. How easy it was for him doesn't make sense. How can HE, but only HE, be able too do the boss that easily, but absolutely no one in the thousands of years before him did it? It just makes everyone else feel... more>> so weak in comparison, even though they aren't. Well, anyway, I don't care about the harem, even though I hate it. The story is good but the it gets overly repetitive, basically the same issue as "Everyone Else Is A Returnee", but even worse. I mean it can pass time, but you'll most likely force yourself to finish it. <<less

Started strong. Interesting characters and plot. Quality of the novel crashed by the middle. Every thing became repetitive, MC became OP, Characters became one dimensional. By the end of the story, everything becomes a blur. Too crude to read. Only thing on my mind was to finish this novel asap and move on to another novel to remove the after taste. Try to avoid reading this.

This actually started out pretty great. The protagonist was unique in that he wasn't some perfect super handsome super genius Gary Stu character rather he was an ugly, mentally challenged and muscle bound. The world too seemed fairly balanced and decently difficult.

It starts falling apart after about 50 chapters. Currently (ch 200) there is no longer any suspense, every character is the same, the MC has become an overly righteous hypocritical mouthpiece spewing common shounen tropes, literally every female character but two in the story is a love interest (mother... more>> and pupils love interest). Every character sounds exactly the same. Every interaction with an old character is exactly the same as every previous interaction with them.

The author can start to set up a story but is incapable of keeping it interesting. <<less

I would say it is a good novel but like Everyone Else is a Returnee, there is a harem...

Why? I like the power level, the system make more sense than Everyone Else is a Returnee, it is an original story but there is one of the worst harem there is.

Spoiler

In the harem there is a healer girl that is socio-dependant on the MC after seing him 4 times in 3 years, the brocon that is jealous of every girl in the harem of the MC, the best flame magician on eart that for some reason can't calculate the mana she use and is teached by the MC, the best friend that love the MC because he can see through her concealement, the shoopkeeper because he don't buy from her and now the master of the best friend because the MC is cool...

This harem is absurd and just drag down the MC. I hope there will be more solo time with the MC.

[collapse]

Else than that, it is a nice story to read.

Edit ch.198

The harem has becaume worse, more girl more talk less plot. So now 3 stars.

Spoiler

But the MC is an hypocrite he say he can't chose a girl and bla bla bla but when a friend is in the same situation as him, he force him to go out with the girl???

There is also the plot armor that do everything so the MC can succes. The MC fight a worm that parasyte a corpse and use a god power with this effect: "When someone with a lower level or league damaged me, I could return the damage completely. If our levels were the same, the damage done would simply disappear as if it never happened. However, it had an equally great flaw. When used against an enemy stronger than me, the damage done to the enemy would be transferred to me."

So he use the power to transfer the worm to himself because it is considered a "damage" with no backup plan. His plan would fail if:

Worm was not considered a damage.
Corpse was not considered eligible for the skill or skill only aplied to the worm.
If death (no brain) was transfered like it should if the skill description was right.
He didn't gain a power that immunise him from parasyte just before the battle.
If the worm just sent his minnions and didn't fight.
There is also the combination of skill that is to op. It should have restriction like can only be used on max level skill or equipement skill.

WE HAVE TWO TYPES OF DUNGEONS. If you die in the main dungeon city setting, you can just revive back on your home planet and you'll wake up. The M/C starts off as one of the first 5 dungeon explorers on Earth, (his dad is one as well). These five dungeon explorers talk more and more as the story goes on. Anyways, he learns how to fight monsters, and dungeon bosses from an early age. This dungeon city is special. We have a gigantic fantasy city where 150K different... more>> beings from different planets all join on one location, and fight monsters/dungeon bosses, trade items, mana stones, level up... etc. Floors go from 1-100+, and they are ranked from bronze to platinum.

With enough qualifications, you can even buy a house in their residency area, allowing you to stay there permanently and avoid real life death on your home planet. Most people here have to get stronger to protect their home worlds from invasions and real monsters.

The M/C at first, is weak, and because Earth doesn't have any mana techniques, he is stuck at the fifth floor, while his friends move on to fight higher monsters. Due to this, he keeps fighting the same raid bosses over and over again, until he is able to solo kill them, earning rewards other can't get. He gets elixirs to strengthen bones, skin, brain... etc, rare stuff. He manages to find a mana technique, allowing him to finally move past the fifth floor and onto the sixth floor. He spent 3 years fighting on the fifth floor, so he earned the nickname "Crown Prince, " for carrying others, while his party from 3 years ago are already on floor 25 lol but he catches up soon enough.

Shin has multiple titles like Hermes (can fly/walk on air for 10 min, once a day), even one called "Earth's Hero." (Each planet is assigned a hero, so yeah, very important status lol)

On Earth, monsters also start appearing, throwing the world into chaos. The 5 original dungeon explorers start talking more and more and helping as well. One has a fire ranked ability, she is an SS ranked girl from China.

Soon enough, we start seeing people with powers come out, everyone has abilities, some are very unique and high ranked. Earth has a law called "New Moon Act." It's a law created to deal with monsters and monster-related work. It outlines the government’s response when a monster-related disaster happens.

So we see ability users that help the government, these are called "Guardians, " and you have your ability users who made their own group without government help called "Freedom Wing." The last group are rogues who really serve no one but themselves, just wanderers.

It's nice to see the different sides and how they all act when sht goes down. M/C is a rogue, he isn't in a group at all. He helps others when he can but other than that, he just fights.

M/C's class is "elementalist." He has a unique "very rare" lightning elemental girl named Peika (ability to grow and get stronger), and he just got an unsealed ice elemental girl named Ruyue (Same as Peika). So he now has lightning and ice abilities to use in the real world. He also has some unique items, like the Pocket Watch Collector. It's a watch he got after defeating a raid boss that allows him to store up to 12 skills from the raid bosses he beats. Right now, he has 7, which proves he has defeated 7 raid bosses SOLO.

He has an elf shop keeper waifu (universal dungeon setting) named Loretta and a college classmate girl that he just NOW made into a dungeon explorer (Earth dungeon setting) called Su-Yuen. On Earth, we'll have event dungeons, from rank F to S, some will be 10 man dungeons, others might be 1000 man A rank dungeons, so it gets crazy.

Our M/C Shin is doing his best to hide his identity (mask) so only his mom, dad, sister and of course the newly recruited Su- Yuen know about the real him and how they're both dungeon explorers.

There is a lot going on and it's only getting better. <<less

Initially, I was very surprised but the story changed in quality as it defaulted on the cause of motivation. Basically I think author randomly copied and his work was to give it a turn of cynical plotlesness as the author stops using his canned bromides, so I'll edit when the story is Completely annihilated, in my experience is going to happen really fast once the autor finish to pretend there is a plot. And turns the MC into a compete cynical sandbag.

Definitively reading this novel, the MC is likable and funny, and it's just personally, but I like when the MC is handsome, at the start there is that gag of him with his 2, 10m tall mass of muscle, but it isn't used that much like some japanese novels where one gag is used infinitely, also, he being s*upid was also an funny gag that didn't become tiring as he increased his intelligence stats, and he also found an way to become stronger and change his figure at the same... more>> time, becoming stronger even though he still has his limitation of not being able to use mana, it's an story with amazing potential, the author could explore only the thematic of dungeon and it would also be an amazing story, but from what we can see, the 'earth' world will appear dungeons and monsters, and as he already is sort of op, he will start ahead of most people.

The translation also is really good, although I can't say for others, since English isn't my main language but I didn't find any error that would damage my reading experience. <<less

Awesome so far. Its like tower of god but with individual people climbing the tower. I found the first few chapter lacking a bit of explanation but if you overlook that part its a good novel, they might explain why everything is happening later on in the story which might make everything clear but as of now its a bit unclear of exactly why the dungeon stuff is happening.

Anyways, I am not sure how this novel will be in the future but I am looking forward to it.

Before review I need to rant about some reviewer who gave this novel 1 🌟 review. First why are you reading this novel in the first place. They are complaining about things like - this is a heram and I don't like heram, MC made some dum diction, MC is over powered, not realistic enough bla bla bla. What the f*ck!? If you don't like heram why are reading them in the first place? Are you guys ret*rd? This is a fantasy novel and there is nothing realistic about it.... more>> Novel series is for passing time and for intertainment and should not be taken seriously. Then why are you guys complaining. By reading something you don't like showed how much idiot you guys are, and I feel sorry for you. Go write you're own story idiot.

Now for a actual review: this this perfectly entertaining story. It do have some bad dialogue and rushed ending. 3.7 out of 5. Because of some idiots 1 🌟 review I'm giving this 5 out of 5. <<less

Whilst this novel is tagged as harem and there are indeed numerous women whom are interested in MC. (Including a princess with an inherent ability to see her future husband.)

The MC is incredibly dense and no matter how obvious anything is and even when confessed to numerous times he shrugs it off and does not commit to anyone.

Note from the author of chapter 101 in relation to harem elements:

... more>> Author’s Note:

I’ll say it now. Siren Plene isn’t a harem member. She’s just a slightly important support character! I mean, ICDS isn’t harem in the first place! <<less

There's a certain charm to Toika's stories. I'd say this is probably the most bland of the four I've read so far though, the others being EER, IRFN, and SFF. I like the way he does the buildup from relative obscurity, and I like the way stats and skill levels etc don't get thrown out the window too quickly.

I wouldn't call any of them literary masterpieces, but I will read and enjoy all of them to completion.

(To put things in perspective I read very quickly, so I don't get... more>> bogged down as much by things that people typically find "slow") <<less

Arguably one of the better Korean novels.

It is nothing more than an adventure novel where the protagonist has OP powers and unnatural luck like many others, but the author clearly knew what he wanted to write and mostly had the writing skills to realize it.

While it is still only on the level of a good light novel, most of the main cast shows growth and everything kind of makes sense in the context of the story's world.

It is definitely not without faults, abusing plot armour, making quite a few arcs... more>> drag on more than necessary, wanting to make a diverse cast of characters that stand on their own but always leaving it to the main character when it counts or making most of the cast into "cheap" women that fall for the main character just because of his high "charm" stat are among the biggest flaws.

In the end, it is a fairly enjoyable story to read, and it stops just before going too deep into the infinite loop of having to create more and more powers and enemies out of nowhere that many light/web novels have. <<less

I enjoyed the story to a certain extent, however, it is quite similar to every other Korean rpg/dungeon crawl book out there. I personally enjoyed dungeon crawling rpg so I guess that's why I enjoyed it. Main character is pretty generic, world building is similar to most other except for the fact there's a living area in the dungeon which is interesting I guess? Storyline is basically nonexistent, kind of like a slice of life story until much much later. I dropped it and probably will pick it up eventually.... more>> All in all, I would recommend to someone whos never read Korean rpg style books, but for those have read similar novels, I find it pointless. IMO Seoul City Necromancer is better but have a slightly different style. <<less

The romance/ harem is tr*sh. Almost 200 chapters in and the biggest romantic development is more girls confess to him saying “I want to marry you and have your babies”. And he says I’m to busy so you can wait. He probably loves his sister a little to much and vis versa. He holds the I’m strong card so even if your in danger it’s alright just rely on me. For the longest time he was saying his sister wouldn’t do well in the dungeon look at that she’s amazing.... more>> He doesn’t even acknowledge the love all these girls have for him. Honestly this series is just to Japanese cliche of a plot. S*upid and dense no hope for basic intelligence check. Girls just see him and fall in love check. Consider anyone else’s opinion as s*upid and think your way is the best way check. Gods just become super into him make you think having their true name is good but in reality isn’t that good. Gods the only thing they give is straight up 1 to 2 skills that can only be used once a month and some element affinity that they don’t even try to use. He lacks any innovative think of developing strong techniques instead just relies heavily on power that isn’t really even his. It’s a dungeons so everything he has that makes him strong can be taken away. <<less

I feel like this novel is an incredible waste of a good idea. It's okay and fun to read, but I feel like it's the perfect storyline for hot-blooded speeches and self sacrifice. One piece style type of tragedy. But the author doesn't use it. It's just left as a rather generic OP MC story. One where the protagonist is interested in his sister rather than all these other girls... Sorry to say, but this author is great at making mediocre works which slides between being good and barely readable.

I... more>> would actually say it's better than the authors newer work, "Everyone Else is a Returnee" on almost every level. The protagonist is almost somewhat interesting at the start, there's no vomit worthy cringe moments, the name of the series doesn't suck, the power growth isn't ridiculous and is now somewhat normal. I actually have trouble believing that this was his earlier work.

There's actually nothing overtly wrong in this book, I just feel like the author wasted a good idea and I think the sis-con subplot was a bad idea.

The author has a nasty habbit of not telling us who's talking. There can be ten lines of dialogue between 6 people and none of them will be labelled. You just have to guess based on what the contents are. Considering the characters are extremely bland, it's not easy.

The series suffers from "The protagonist is always right syndrome". Where he basically makes declarative statements based on little to no evidence or explanation and everyone agrees with him. Basically, this novel has paper-thin character development and plot building. It started out okay, but after like 30 chapters it fell apart. <<less

How should I say? It's fun to read kind of with all those level up and stat, skill Bonus stuff like that but author greatly messed this up, kind of, I mean I did expect something like this because korean novels are like this

For example he totally messed up romance, all heroine candidates like him for mysterious reason and romance development of 2 girls is simply unrealistic I mean they had just started following him for no reason and got interested in him

Worst part abt this is that he acts... more>> dense and is kinda siscon he is too conceited, dense MC was pretty likeable but later he becomes too conceited specially being douchebag who is rude and gives opinion for no reason (ex:- how he spits nonsense abt he loves fighting and how dungeon should be conquered and other explorers aren't trying) I mean what's with you being all judgemental?

Even author is kinda swimming in pride too of being proud korean citizen and it doesn't feel nice because only worthy fighter who is "our mc" is from Korea and other country fighters are all just tr*sh (they don't even fight properly like wtf?) When you read Japanese novel you don't even realize at some point that MC is from japan and you can actually relate to MC but in Korean novels like this MC seems all distant, because he is from "Korea"

Not just other countries but even dungeon explorers aren't any good they are like side characters who can never compete with mc

Even heroines are kinda just meh, like they feel totally joke in front of MC who is best, heroines are getting totally insulted because of them being incompetent except elf

(no character development for heroines)

Spoiler

Seriously the elf heroine is pretty awesome, helped and encouraged him from years and she even sacrificed almost everything to be with him but he is still stuck in choices whether he should choose her or another heroine who is from korea who had appeared from nowhere and started following him, and confessed him after some days like wtf? His standards are too high at this rate it even feels like he just used that elf girl because he clearly rejects her many times why the hell you even try to bit*h around her if you were gonna do sh*t like that? Not to mention other heroines which were suddenly excluded from this competition

I used to like this novel, but that was when it was good... This, like many other novels, gets worse and worse over time.

1. Style : It's quite normal, neither terrible nor good. It honestly feels like a log of events more than anything, but at least the premise and plot were good enough to make you forgetabout it.

2. Story : It's quite good story wise, a bit boring due to MC's OPness but enjoyable.

3. Character : Now this is the problem for me. The characters in this novel are... more>> mostly one-dimensional, seriously, just erase the names of the harem members and you won't even be able to discern whom to whom. The only person I like in this novel is MC's sister... Ludia is an annoying b*tch, she was your typical tsundere at first, turned Yandere later on. As for other support characters like MC's dad, his friends he made on different trips, just forget about them 'cause they will soon be forgortten in the next ten chapters.

The relationship in this novel doesn't feel real, and I get it, it's fiction, it wasn't supposed to be real, the problem is that the novel is constantly trying to be something it is not. It's light-hearted at first but turned dark and gritty later on, it tries to focus on characters' personalities and physiological and fails horribly (Ex : Ludia).

Now last but certainly not least is the MC. You see, there are two types of main character, the first one is the Mary Sue type, who is better at everything and is potrayed as kind, caring, and often not, somewhat dense,... The second is anti-hero type where he's not bad but can't be described as good either. Now imagine a character in between those two... Yeah, it isn't good huh? Well, that's exactly what the MC is. In other words, MC is and as*hole who tries to impersonate a good guy, what's even more annoying is that the novel constant attempts at making him seem good... It's f*cking annoying (Also if I see someone talking about getting stronger or the importance of it again, I might kill myself, for f*ck's sake we're not dumb, we know getting stronger is important, shut the f*ck up!)

He's so contradicting that it makes me wonder if I had skipped something. There are many unpredictable characters in the world of fictions, but none is quite like this guy. Deadpool for example, he might be unpredictable at first, but when you're familiar with him, it will be easy. Shin on the other hand, he acts like a sheep normally when people can't see it, but he's actually a wolf in disguise, the way he acts makes it very hard for me to understand which is his real self. The slightly dense, flustered Shin or the douchebag one. Not to mention MC has never met with an obstacle so his character never changes, not even a bit. And dear God, I hate how he keeps trying to deny reality when he realizes the girls are in love with him, he has got them on a hook, he doesn't touch them but doesn't give them a clear answer either. Overall, f*ck this guy. <<less

Another gem of a series. Grammar: 4.5/5

Writing: 4.5/5

Story: 3.9/5

(Update as of Chapter 127: Dialled back on the Darkness, and is starting to color in the empty areas with some shady-ass Gray (the kinda Shady that makes you wonder what's really going on). All kinds of questions are starting to get a bit of color thrown in and assumptions can now start to be accurately made. I'm only afraid that the story will soon be running out of steam thanks to its current pacing. I can only pray... more>> that it doesn't.)

(Update as of Chapter 121: F*** you, my heart broke, the blood drained out and was replaced with acid. The sheer amount of revulsion I feel at this point (in all the best ways) is just down right wrong. Clean kills, simple logic, and some damn twisted story telling. I love this. That feeling I had about the inevitable Dark Twist hath begun to materialize.)

Another gem that's nearly polished to perfection. It's not the most original story, but the execution, dialogue, and events make it a superb read. The grammatic skill displayed is amazing, not often do I read through a novel and find that it is to my liking. The writing is amazing, the flow is perfect, never feels too slow, nor dragged out. The pacing is exceptional as well as the cliffs left behind by a few of the chapters. The story, while not the most original, is executed to near perfection. I can't wait to read more. Binge read this from chapter 1-102 in a little under a day, and am regretting my rash decision to devour as much of this series as quickly as possible. Definitely a recommended read for those who like Game Elements, Comedy, and what feels like an impending Dark Twist to the story. <<less

I love this novel, and am always eagerly awaiting new chapter releases. The translator does a great job with speed and accuracy, the story flows as it should be. Great action and comedy. I love the interactions between characters especially his little shop elf noona :X, his potential harem members, and his pops. The only thing that annoys me about the MC is that he is so effing dense. Overall great novel, one of the due novels that keep me wanting more.
