Our male and female lead are in the online entertainment circle, he on the dubbing side and she on the music cover side. The circle is one where physical appearance is generally anonymous and you are known by your online handle and your voice. Gu Sheng, a relatively unknown online singer who goes by the handle Sheng Sheng Man and who specializes in cover songs of ancient-style music, is a huge fan of Qiang Qing Ci, a very famous and well-loved CV (character voice) artist (i.e. dubber, voiceover artist). It was like, love at first listen.

One morning, she was chatting with a friend in her online “room” when his voice suddenly appeared in her headset, describing to her in detail how to prepare a food dish she had been talking about. This began their online chats about food. Gu Sheng can scarcely believe that she is talking to her idol, and he seems to be trying to progress the relationship further.

We are all Gu Sheng, waiting for a Qing Ci.

No matter how many times I read and re-read this story, that was what passed my mind. There’s no angst, no love rival, no backstabbing, just sweetness overload stemmed from an unusual ‘courting’ between two talented online celebrities. Nothing stands out from the initial premise, but it is Mo Bao Fei Bao work, and as usual, she managed to make something extraordinary from cliches. Additionally, the setting and background are very realistic and interesting. Also, the characters are so loveable and... more>> we as the readers can easily identify ourselves with them. It is definitely a must read for romance novel fans. <<less

This was one of the first translated Chinese novels that I ever read and I had to go back and read a few chapters to see if I remembered it correctly. It’s a charming, slow story with the food and music dialogues really leading the way although the author writes some charmingly steamy scenes too!

The FL is indeed a quiet, slightly introverted person but that doesn’t make her a doormat as some other reviews imply. She’s just not emotionally driven. She is shy, she is mostly involved in music and... more>> (like many), she’s amazed that this actor guy would want to talk to her. We readers need to remember that while the ML appears godlike, he sees himself as just a man. When he finally notices a woman with many of the same interests, he’s ready!

Finally, the author is known for her soft, gentle romance stories. I didn’t expect her to jump right into action or revenge plots! It’s a slow stream of a story, passing through pretty scenery with very little turbulence. Relax! Enjoy! <<less

Reading this straightly after finishing "Beautiful Bones". I'm a bit disappointed because MC was almost similar to Shi Yi from "Beautiful Bones". She was passive and treated ML like a God-like creature. Well, at least Shi Yi actively chased after Zhousheng Chen in the beginning of the story but Gu Sheng rarely took initiative and often followed ML's lead and it made her slightly boring compared to Shi Yi. Both ML were also a dominant one in their relationship and they often made a decision for MC without even consulting... more>> her first.

Spoiler

ML already declared her as his girlfriend when he didn't even confess yet. Also, he was the one who decided when to get married without even letting her prepared her heart first. Many said that it was romantic and sweet but I think it's a bit forceful.

[collapse]

MC once mentioned as a voice lover, it didn't matter how the man's appearance was as long as he had a nice voice. Those saying would be a bit moving if ML's appearance wasn't anywhere near perfection. Unfortunately, ML was a God-like creature so MC couldn't really prove her saying.

Also, when or how ML fell in love with MC wasn't well described. The author only mentioned that he loved her voice when he listened to it at the first time. But how ML knew other things about MC such as her appearance, her family's shop, etc weren't really mentioned. All I could remember was ML already chased after MC since the first chapter. <<less

Not really a review but just a line of what I felt about this novel.

A beautiful music oriented novel. Mo bao fei bao is literally the best in adding a pinch of ancient chinese culture in her modern day novels.

So cute!!! It's light, fluffy, heartwarming, full of cuteness! Also, I laughed at every chapter, mostly because she's always being teased and it's so funny and cute to read.

Qingcheng is probably the smoothest talker as an ML that I have ever known. Everything he wants he can talk her into it. Want to talk? Bet. Want to meet? Just throw a casual reason with his alluring voice backed with his seniority and her favor as a means. Want to be in a relationship? Just answer her question with another question... more>> to convince her and it's done. Lol. The way their relationship progressed was very smooth mostly because of how skilled he is in talking his way into it. Don't get any wrong ideas, he doesn't talk his way in a bad point. I think it's more appropriate to say that he's doing it for her to agree to be with him and somehow 'spoil' him. Cute.

I don't really have much comment about Sheng Sheng. I am satisfied with how she handled his fans and the backlash of their relationship.

One thing that doesn't sit right with me though is how Qingcheng settled their relationship. Seriously... he did it so easily that I kind of feel a bit bad for her. I mean yeah she obviously likes him but I think giving her a room to reflect and at least time for her to process the situation would've been greatly appreciated. Everything else was okay. <<less

What a suave way of asking someone out. Qaq

Really, really good. This is pure fluff. There's no angst or drama. ML is very straightforward in his approach towards FL and I can't help but swoon everytime. The other characters are hilarious as well and I find myself unable to stop laughing.

Definitely reread this and I don't think I'll get tired of it.

Thank you for translating this treasure.

This is my fav novel ?? Very lighthearted novel, fluffy. No misunderstandings and there's no villain! I love the ML way of courting her, it's so realistic. Maybe for some people it's kinda bland romance but if you want to clean your heart from a previous novel with a tag tragedy or angst this is the novel you're looking for (I hate angst and misunderstanding the most)

THIS NOVEL IS REALLY GOOD. Sending lots of love to the author! ?❤️ Thank you for creating this novel!

If you just want to be happy or if you just want a cute love story without all the unnecessary angst and drama... then this novel is for you. This is a heartwarming and satisfying love story. It will make you want to have a boyfriend like the ML. Ahh.. I want a Toupai of my own now. :')

Oh God. Oh. My. GOD.

Please. If you loved the drama "Love O2" or read its novel "A Slight Smile is very Charming". YOU NEED TO READ THIS NOVEL. I KID YOU NOT. NO JOKE.

I am not sure where the cooking portion disappeared, I couldn't care less where it went. The whole dynamic of this story is solely on a romance between ML who is a legit professional Seiyuu/CV/dubber x a MC who is a casual cover singer who has a die hard crush on ML.

AND BOY the ML is sure,... more>> 100% certified smooth move just like Xiao Nai Nai from Love O2. From "here is how you cook this dish..." to "Is this...? (Uncle) Yup. My girlfriend (ML)........ when!?Are you serious!?I--You-- *gulps 10 coke cans* (very stunned, confused MC) "

I'm sorry for the fangirl, biased review like but I happen to be a voice lover. So If I placed myself in her shoes facing her idol who suddenly talked to you, starting to be good to you, doing those smooth moves and plus a handsome face. So does who didn't like it, too bad but to me its perfectly normal reactions of MC.

So GUYS! READ IT!! Especially voice lovers! You will love it! <<less

This story is 100% fluff. Cotton candy fluff. Its a perfect read for when you don't want to spend too much time reading but want to end up grinning from ear to ear. There are a lot of adorable moments and you genuinely root for the leads to get together. I wouldn't say Toupai DaRen is a conventional cold lead because he does have other sides to him. He's aloof, maybe and just a bit withdrawn for a celebrity but his character comes across as genuine and humble. The author... more>> did a good job of subtly showing us different planes of his personality, in the way he reacts to his friends or his fans, with how he communicates with the FL.

I just wish the female lead had a bit more... character? Throughout the novel, it seems like shes just pushed into a bunch of situations without knowing what the hell to do. So she just keeps going with the flow. I wish she'd just open her mouth and ask - anything, something. It's like she has a permanent brain freeze. Quite frankly, she is extremely boring. As a result, the ML has to do a lot of the guiding and push the relationship forward.

All things aside, this was an enjoyable read. 3.5, rounded to 4. As usual, hoju's translation was A++! <<less

Very fluffy. The translator has done an amazing job in translating song lyrics, food recipes and the overall story with the small explanations and the cute pictures!!!! Loved the translation! One of the very best that I have read! The MC is kind of air-headed but not in an annoying way but kind of a cute one. The ML is super black-belly. He manages to cloak his possessiveness with concern and inserts himself into her life so completely and seamlessly, that it was very interesting to read. And the best... more>> part is how he is completely aware that MC is most amiable and crazy over his voice and uses his voice to ensure she does and goes in the direction he wants her to go ?? <<less

Nice story. Nothing to criticize except for how female lead always seems like she's rushed into relationship and later coerced into marriage. Minus 1 star for abrupt ending.

The story was okay, I literally had to force myself to focus while reading. Why? Because my head just wasn't really into this novel as much as I would had like to.

Long story short, even though I had to force myself to read I did enjoy this novel to some point.... but it sort of got boring near the end. It was painful, well at least to me it was. I didn't really favorite the ending. I felt like the writer could had done a better job of ending... more>> it. The ending felt rather rushed, like the author didn't know how to continue the story so she needed to end it like how it ended.

Also to me the epilogue didn't feel like an epilogue. It was like the writer felt the need to write an epilogue but really the epilogue was just the continuation of the last chapter. Why? Because in most epilogue it would let you have a look into their future together. Such as letting us see their kids being born or something. But this epilogue didn't do that.

Overall I'll be honest, I feel a little disappointment to this story. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but I did enjoy the first half. So I give it a 3 star. <<less

This was such a light and warm read. I may be the odd one out, but I really liked discovering new dishes that they would share in each chapter. ML sort of came off as a bit weird initially because he was this mysterious figure who kept talking about food. I'm glad these two foodies found each other though. The way their relationship progressed was insanely fast. ML was very strong in his advances. He knew what he was doing with his voice and would render FL's defenses useless. It... more>> was fun seeing FL in funny and awkward situations. I feel like ML's friends were a bit too much with the teasing, so I kind of found them annoying. You might feel some second hand embarrassment, but it's a stress free read. <<less

Technically this should be rated between 3 and 4 at 3.5.

It's better than an ok rating but giving it good rating takes away from the problem.

First I liked that they talked about FL ending her graduation and going into post graduation, that sets the female lead at a good age range. My problem is that even with this age range the female lead is shown to have classic blank trope.

Spoiler

The moment the male lead says anything her mind is blank. This happens not just once or twice but even during the proposal. I liked the way the set up made initially cause anyone who meets his / her idol will have this type of dazed reaction. The problem is that she does not seem to have a disillusionment phase, he goes from her to her boyfriend within a short time without there being any emotional development between them. Plus the female lead being dazed at the time of proposal and even when they went to register their wedding was a bit off putting. I kept thinking if this guy was slightest manipulative, she would be done for. I kept thinking what if a few years later she wakes up from the daze and realizes she wanted something of her own too?

[collapse]

If you can ignore that, it's a cute novel with lots of teasing. <<less

Idk maybe because I’m a huge fan of mbfb’s “Beautiful Bones”, I really love how they include some scene from BB! But overall, I can only give this 3/5 rating. Not because I’m not loving the storyline, but I just didn’t found something different from other lovely-ML dominant-shy FL novel. But I definitely love the way Hoju translate the story! Thank you so much Hoju!

Interesting plot about voice actors industry, although not extensively elaborated on. FL is in the utaite industry while ML is a seiyuu. FL doesn't seem to have much of a personality? In the story, she pretty much just get led along by ML. Although author did try to create some "background" of knowing each other for a longer period of time, in essence, they were merely fans initially and after only knowing each other irl for less than a few months (and dating for even less) they progressed really fast???... more>> It's a little weird when you think of that, but other than that, ML is very sweet on FL and a typically prince charming that you'll probably never find irl. FL is unmemorable but it's fine if your focus is on the ML in the story... Overall, sweet with interesting premise but typical relationship plot. <<less

Ok I'll put it this way... I do honestly think that, WN is 2/5. Why is it 3/5? Simply because, I felt like, I rushed the story a little bit too much and didnt digest as much as I could have been. Ohhh well, anyway I'll try to shitpost on this short and ummm dont read this shitpost if you havent finished the WN. Because spoiler.

Spoiler

Oh boi this was a fun ride... Fun in a sense that, it's subtle and genuine but at the same time, I grew impatient when I read it. Like, let's face it, in every single romance series, it's always cut into three separate section: When they first met, when they became a couple, and the ending. This series of formula is like, how otonari tenshi-sama and Gyaru actually butchered this formula but well, I mean; it's JP WN so ehhh like; it doesnt matter. "Really, Really Miss You" is a WN that solely heavily when I read it got stuck in the first part of the formula and like, 3 chs at the end; they're already f*cking, and like.... I felt that; despite the subtlety and vividly rigidness of the story, I find it quite.... bad, but at the same time; because I'm bored; the story is simply perfectly well tailored to that current mood. Because, I felt like every single ch I read, I still feel that "awkwardness" of characters when they just first met and upon learning more about them this subtle and awkwardness is still; I felt like; present still and will forever be. I WILL NOT blame the heroine for she is such a well tailored submissive character to the point that, oh heaven; it's like how the Moon is so pure. humps of story focusing on the MCs relationship is something, I find quite lost in some cases; for instance, the ending which... heroine felt that their relationship being a couple is still too early to be converted to marriage and like... just a single eargasmming whisper she's like this doll that will forever follow you, this woven characteristic driven by the author is something I felt too deeply thrown out. Another example, would be; dialogue, especially certain "agreement" between character ought to spoken, yet I felt like, heroine didnt really love the MC that much; but despite so being the contrarian; the following chapter; despite no actual definitive clause that they're dating... suddenly they're dating.... It's like I'm put in this scenario where, when I read that chapter, I felt like somewhere it was like cut-down, then some other piece just got pushed on so the story will be piece together and somehow it will make sense. Ok again, I will not blame the heroine for being submissive and pretty much naive or ummm awkward at this certain scenario.

I wouldnt necessarily say that submissive and shy heroines will wreak a story... For me it's this overly emphasize on purity and morality that I cannot tolerate. Like I dont mind the "s*x BEFORE MARRIAGE NG... HANDHOLDING BEFORE MARRIAGE NG" meme to be injected in every single romance series for it is the whole encompassing definition of purity, but oh boi this heroine is just on the same level of dense MCs of JP isekai WNs, but then again, the transition between her change of views to his idol from his lover to his husband is the whole point of this series I feel like... It's genuinely vividly not smooth, but it's actually not bad. It might have been written for like 45 chs but damn it's not that bad, it's just-- how do I put it, slightly tailored cliche and harshly putly rushed.

I liked reading this WN, like I really do... trust me on this one... but I'll only do this one time, prolly... Really Really Miss You will never weigh the same and will never reach the same peak of greatness compared to Easily Set Aflame. dont f*cking @ me
