Had a lot of potential, it had a nice toned down cultivation system, a world mysteriously full of famous figures from ancient China and it felt like it was going to be interesting to find out why they had appeared there. But before they could get into any of that the author suddenly decides that the massive planet with countless interesting historical figures made for a far too interesting story so he brings in a whole generic universe of cultivators from space and sidelined all the interesting plot. Plus despite... more>> this being a book about someone with theif skills he somehow becomes a generic cultivator anyway. At the start it seemed interesting because the MC actually chose to become a subordinate of a fallen noble and was scheming and stealing to improve his status. However as you get further in the MC uses his theif skills less and less. A key problem with this novel is that the author makes some real weird decisions early on. For example the novel starts with three characters who are all in a theif sect, a wizened theif who has years of experience, a playboy talented theif who is a genius, and a dude who has no real place in a theif sect at all because he just knows how to fight. And guess who is the one to survive in this novel about theiving, yes it's the moron who can just fight, he has no real skills or life experience or personality. And considering this is a theif novel making the non theif the MC was so baffling <<less

It started OK, seemed to be getting better and better. Then I find myself 300 chapters in and just don't have the motivation to continue... the MC finds himself with a ton of enemies and it seems they will never die, actually I was even begining to think that the villains are the f*****g protagonists. Then we get some villains with a 4-15 chapter lifespan, some enemies mentioned that the MC has yet to encounter etc. In many chapters the MC just seems to be a bystander. Also...I'm still confused... more>> about the realms of his cultivation technique as there are no detailed descriptions... the author doesn't really care to explain stuff...
I'm sorry if I just missed that info or just forgot as it's been some time since i've last read a chapter.

Had really high hopes for this tho...i'll definitely continue reading. Maybe next year. <<less

The story was getting good but then here comes the invasion of various Chinese historical figures which immediately ruins the immersion, and its not just one or two but a whole bunch of them who are leading characters and never seem to die. I am done with this as I have other better things to read.

I couldn't get past chapter six.

Overly dramatic story. To identify MC you need to read 5 chapters. Without knowing who is MC you will be reading chapters, but suddenly the one who is arrogant in the beginning becomes MC and pitiable fellow becomes villain.

If you enjoy the descriptive and slow-paced writing style of Xiantia stories, you should read this novel just for the first 200 chapters. Afterwards it depends on how many flaws you can tolerate or notice. At that point the quality starts to degrade and the absolute plot armor of all side characters named after historical figures as well as the main character's fallacious, illogical or simply s*upid elaborations, decisions and handling of his matters begin to ruin your reading experience.

Nonetheless, in many ways even later on it still remains a... more>> good and a mostly well-articulated and translated read, so you should definitely decide for yourself.

Actually, I could write this sort of review for pretty much all Chinese fantasy web novels. Even if you ignore the lack of talent or interest among the authors to finish their projects, you simply can't write a good story by publishing every chapter every day. Literature is more dense and complicated than comics or animation. It always requires editing and planning covering the entire work. <<less
