Because of his house pet chinchillas being “pregnant”, a stubborn and oddball novelist Liang Ze had a chance to encounter the gentle Mr. Goody-good shop owner, Hang Hang.

The two have totally opposite characteristics and clashing personalities, yet they were both gradually getting closer.

One imbecile author, one gentle shop owner, one taobao message, four chinchillas, two cellphones, with a few blocks of building in between them, these were the obstacles before they encountered each other.

‘Handsome’ said, “My chinchilla is pregnant!”
Hang Hang said, “These two chinchillas are female.”

This is the beginning of these two’s stories ^_^ Exactly what does “Fatal Attraction” mean?

BL story with a happy ending. This is my top favorite novel. It top addicated novel, too. The story is good, funny, love, and s*x scene. The story is more direct and easy to fall for the couple story. It about a straight guy doesn't know the meaning of love is. Even though he is not gay but really love a gay guy for who he is. I am the type doesn't read novel. I love this story.

I didn't enjoy it as much because I realized the story's progression was not my cup of tea. (Sorry for that rating)

This is a love story between a gay dude and a straight guy struggling to make the relationship work, and it's not like those yaoi manga you read where straight guy magically became gay after one sexy session.

And the story is mostly done in dialogue form. The straight man is one abstract guy so don't force yourself to understand his POV.

Nice job to the translator for putting on... more>> pictures and extra notes for explanation.

The pictures of chinchilla are very cute :D <<less

Maybe 4-1/2 stars

Great story about the romance between a gay pet shop owner and a idiotic-genius (believe me, it fits) straight writer. It's not insta-love, and has a good bit of depth and angst about it, without being over-the-top dramatic. Lots of humor and a nice dose of fluff.

Translation is smooth, with notes from the TL that help those not familiar with mainland China understand the area and culture.

Could do with more chinchillas though.

A story about straight and gay relationship.. I was actually rooting for the best friend but bah I knew they wouldn't happen.

Indeed it's not like the other yaoi stories where poof straight became in love immediately with the gay guy. I don't know how Liang Ze's brain could work but he's irritating me with his indecisive feelings and s*upid way of thinking but I was glad that he eventually sorts out his feelings and brain (Not completely though) Really admire Qi Ji (did I remember it right?) for that advice... more>> his gave and hope he find his own happiness. I actually hoped the story would turn on different route when
Spoiler

Liang Ze and Hang Hang broke up but I knew there's only few authors who's stubborn like me and thinks that once you give up you don't go back... ever whatever happens ?

i read this novel a few years ago? I read this after I found the web drama, the actors are cute and handsome, I fall in love with them LOL. At first I was quite satisfied with the drama, but after I read the novel there are many scenes got cutted out. Well, it's among the first few chinese BL novel i've read. The story is good though. Even though the shou/uke is quite dumb, oblivious, and thus hurting the gong/seme so many times, I still could tolerate it, after... more>> all he's just a s*upid straight guy before LOL. It's makes sense he couldnt figure out his own feeling sooner. I don't know, probably one of the reason I like this novel is thanks to the actors, I think the actors for HangHang and Liang Ze really portrayed the characters from the novel. <<less

Yandai Xie Jie No. 10 is a novel that depicts a straight man's struggles accepting he's gay.

This novel really illustrated it well. At first, I thought it was fluff then the tone quickly became serious.

It depth more on the reality of accepting you're in love with a man and is in relationship with the same gender.

It was nice, because the details are really intricately written. I'm even confused who was the protagonist because the POV is constantly switching. Then I just threw it off my mind.

Bye bye, Liang Ze! Love your man well.

Bye, Hang Hang!~ Always dote on your baby, you know he's quite dense.

I liked the novel but I feel that we didn't have enough of seeing them happy together. Their story and life were soo convoluted for such a long time that I feel that the readers deserve more chapters filled with true happiness

*3.5*

This book was a rollercoaster ride for me. I honestly wasn't super into it at first, and the middle drags a lot, but then the ending was the cutest, sweetest, most heartwarming thing, it honestly made me so happy. It really changed my perspective on the whole story (I even cried, that's how much it touched me). I'm always a sucker for a happy ending, especially when a good chunk of books and dramas like this have such tragic endings. Plus, I think the main couple are really good... more>> together and I can't wait to see how the actors portray them in the drama series. <<less

3.5 stars for this cute gay for you story. That straight dude is pretty dense to be a successful author though it did makes him a funny and adorable guy. His boyfriend had to suffer tons before able to settle down with him. One thing for sure, his boyfriend would never ever get the chance to be bored with him. He is frustrating but endearing at the same time.

If the author let it end at chapter 24 I would have given it 5 stars. The translator's notes stated that the drama adaptation did end in chapter 24.

Being able to turn a straight man gay or vice-versa is improbable if not straight-up impossible. (If the person was bi to begin with, then that's a different story). The open-ended-yet-sad ending of the drama made the story stronger and more impactful. The viewers would be haunted by the emotional turmoil. Could two incompatible people truly be happy forever? It's like oil and water; no matter how much you try, the two would eventually separate. Is Hang Hang better off without Liang Ze? Will Hang Hang find someone who can heal his broken heart? Will Liang Ze finally be able to understand people and how to interact with them properly?...

This is the opinion of someone who enjoys reading happy endings and actively avoids bad endings, so take that as you would. The fact that the ending is happy after building up such character development makes the story more forgettable. I suggest readers stop at Ch.24 for a day or two before continuing onwards to the end. <<less

I loved the novel, although I suffered for a while, but it was worth it (●´∀`●)... Liang Ze is very silly, but I think that's his charm╮ (─▽─) ╭.... Hang Hang oh Hang Hang remind me so much, that's why I love you (´∀`) ♡. Hang Hang is as s*upid as Liang Ze but not all the time xD.... I read everything in one afternoon, now to see the Drama... I would like another special many years later... I do not settle for the epilogue\ (;´□`) /

Not bad, exactly, just not my cup of tea. Honestly, I didn't want the couple to be together. Liang Ze kept saying he was uncomfortable in the relationship, because he is straight. Hang Hang was also uncomfortable. I, as a reader, was also uncomfortable. The "straight uke" tag wasn't a lie for once, the guy doesn't magically finds out he is gay/bi/pan etc. Which is completely ok! And is even kinda realistic (just a little, tho). But... it felt like he was forcing himself to be in a relationship just... more>> cause he is lonely, and making Hang Hang suffer as well. These two really didn't match at all, had no chemistry, bad communication. I didn't read until the end, so I don't know if it gets better, but to me it wouldn't really matter what happens next, because I really didn't like them as a couple. What killed it for me was:

Spoiler

Liang Ze getting instantly h**ny whenever he was close to a woman he once slept him, and trying to "control himself" from cheating on Hang Hang. He got hard just seeing her, but didn't enjoy having s*x with Hang Hang -- like, ok. If it's like that, break up and go have s*x with women. No one is forcing you, you know.

4/5 but I'm giving it 5 to pull up ratings.

The last line in the ending completely bewildered me, but I still love how the author show straight-man ML's struggle in accpeting a fully gay relationship with MC. In other novels, the psychological impact is often glossed over but in real life, it happens more often than not. Unless the 'straight' man was never that straight to begin with.

So I like how this novel shows it. And the pet shop setting was pretty refreshing too. It made it feel closer to... more>> reality, as compared to having overly rich protagonists. <<less
