To me she is the strongest woman among them three, she is not a modern girls, but she be able to won a heart of jerk like Yan Hong Tian. I considered him as the most difficult and heartless if compare to Su Ling and Lou Xi Yan. I love all of the novels so much thought. It is a must read novels.

Do not read if you don't want spoilers or want to read the book go ahead everyone have a different opinions and that's what make us great!

Spoiler

Let me just tell you how much I'm disappointed with this novel especially the lasts chapters and the ending, it made me feel bad/frustration/bitterness. It's sad because I really loved the heroine even thought she had weak points and the novel was alright at the beginning but it went down so fast in the last chapters ugh it made it feel rushed some events were solved in light speed.

The hero was "okay" and the couple had their moments but as for else their relationship was never complete for me it felt like insecure and not whole, she is always careful around him and sometimes it can be seen as cold and unfortunately the hero too is by far a disappointment I fully understand he is the emperor and need to be careful to protect and cold and so on... I read and watched a lot of this kind but maybe I expected something more for him? Like sitting and discussing what future hold for them or maybe even asking about her opinion when it come to his actions or explaining??? I understand the heroine act rashly but come on TRY who knows because it look like he doesn't trust her and as well the heroine sometimes she need me to smack her out ?

About THE ENDING ugh HE??? Where???? They're ALIVE BUT?? what were both the main lead thinking for $#@$%%

Like ugh ?, Maybe the author was like : ugh let's finish this NOW

In the end EVEN thought I hated some parts of the novel the heroine was quick and smart and knows how to take action and the the storyline was amazing and the actions never ending it make you read without stopping. ?

Many thanks to the translators who made this novel available for us to read I appreciation the hard work! <<less

Very good. The key strength of the novel is the characterization. Reading it all at one go, I find myself understanding the motivations and behaviour of the female MC. However, the supporting cast is a little hampered by the fact that they are shared across the related novels. It's like a movie series that tell separate stories with a cast of familiars, and because the other stories have yet to be fully translated you are left grasping at straws to fill the gaps with your own imagination. There are many... more>> reminders in the novel that tell you to read the other novels in the series to make a complete picture. Oh, you can read this on its own, just be prepared for jarring gaps that the author did not elaborate as it is assumed the reader would be at least familiar with the other novels in the series. It's a familiar tale of a tragic woman forced to become a tribute, taken by the emperor of the victorious nation. She quickly found herself entangled in vicious palace politics who are eager to nip her in the bud. Some might not even like the male love interest who behaved like a stereotypical, overbearing emperor; and to the the end I felt that he remained underdeveloped based on this novel alone (I have no idea how prominent he will be in the other novels). He remains a somewhat vague figure in my mind, much of the story is dominated by the female MC's thinking process.

The ending seemed rushed, almost everything was concluded in the final chapter (which admittedly is nearly 3 times longer than previous chapters). The final resolution to me seemed 'too clean' and convenient, and I felt somewhat cheated at the lack of an actual final confrontation. Speaking of the ending, it should be noted that the epilogues opened the way for future sequels after a timeskip. <<less

I really like this novel. I read all three novels: A Mistaken Marriage Match, but this one is my most favorite. I really can understand ML and FL decisions. Their love is not cute, right however it is also love. They both have tragic past, so the way how ML in the first act, and FL way act in following scenes is so natural.

Sigh, it's a mistake of mine. Reading this first before the other novels that people said are really good. I read this without knowing that this is actually a sequel. No wonder I sensed strong side character vibe from the main leads, our FL especially. The whole time I reading this I got this strong feeling "Oh no, why I feel she's actually just a side character, that pityful side character whose existence only to highlight the heroic side of the main character." The feeling that she's the real one,... more>> the real person in an foreign world of your common transmigration novels. The type of character that we actually don't give enough attention. The type of character that only exist to give more spice to main character's struggles and the tragic plot.

It's really an unpleasent feeling, first time I've ever experienced reading a novel when the main character feel nothing like one. It's not that the characters are bad, but she's just pityful.

She's truly tragic. I can't even bare to read the other novels because, I lost sypmpathy for the other characters..... Author why are you so mean😭.

Even tho I'm dead curious to know how the future would be for her and her son. I-....

Someone please give me spoiler will her son be the next emperor? I just want to know about that. Honestly I skip so many paragrahs from the epiloge chapters because I can't, I'm too weak.

And actually I hope the child will become emperor, if he's not, please don't give me any spoiler then. But it's also good if he can live an ordinary and happy life. I'm sorry, I don't know why I have to apologize and to whom, but I'm sorry😭. Okay, I'll just move on on my own, don't give me spoiler. <<less

compare to other series this is the most heartbreaking novel ever even though there is happy ending. MC is so pitiful and if you read series about Qing Ling you will know that the emperor are such a scumbags/bastard. He chase the elder sister around but treat MC like a s** puppet. But we need to agreed that YHT is a most love-hate male lead we ever read... sometimes he can be very hateful person, and sometimes I love his character to the bone. cant blame him tho, because he... more>> was raised like that (treat female like a toy). but until he met MC he become more more better person. but still thinks QF deserves better, and yeahh I thought there will be a love story between MZ and QF since MZ treat QF better than the emperor, but as usual there will be a plot-twist too. <<less

Read the other two books first (Record of Washed Grievances and A Generation of Military Counselor, which has intertwined story), then read this one. It's least favorite among three books. The atmosphere is tense and dark. There is a lot of heartbreaking moment. But fortunately it has a good ending. Must read? Yes, of course.

I rage quit after I read about her losing her child during the LAST term of her pregnancy. LIKE WTF AUTHOR, I like to read HAPPILY EVER AFTER NOVELS, not tragic kill fests with one injustice after another that make you cry tears of blood and make snot run down your nose like a beggar on a cold winters night wearing rags on the street. This novel really needs to add the tragedy tag somewhere for any future readers. I don't care if this couple ever got a happily ever after the abortion event, I consider that a major tragedy and will not be continuing this story.

How did I get through this novel, meant to give it 4 stars. It starts out really good, we've got our MC who is headstrong and really, just the perfect character. And then we've got the typically ass of a ML who we gradually understand and fall for. What I didn't like was all the scheming and typical palace conflicts. Really isn't my cup of tea. High stars because the translation was really well done.

This is a historical story without time traveling and I loved it! They are a rare kind these days. Although the emperor's character could be better. It has heartbreaking moments but for me, the epilogue is worth it.

I’m just here to rant, cause I seriously really hate the ML in this book. He’s a very realistic portrayal of how little the value of life was in the face of power back then.
Spoiler

He really doesn’t care what the FL feels for a long time, intentionally tries to make her angry, sad or scared, and delights in breaking her spirit to “tame” her. I really don’t know why she stayed with him, because even if he did change (just a little) how could she just forgive and forget everything he’d done or caused?

[collapse]

I’m so glad I wasn’t born in those times, cause man that would’ve been depressing.

Synopsis says "He is the master of six kingdoms. As long as he wanted, his cavalry is ready to wipe off any country." but I say BULLSHIT!! I've never hated a ML more than I hate this dude. He is the supreme Emperor, and he is busy saving the world while his own backyard is a war zone. His wife and children is dying one after the other but he is apparently "busy saving the world". Like if you can't protect your own kids might as well not have one... more>> until you finish getting rid of the evil guys. BUT NO! This guys just go ahead and have kids and let the innocent women in the harem to fend for themselves. Like seriously he knows pretty well know how much of a man-eating monster his Empress is. Despite all that he still goes and have kids with the concubines and then watch as she kills his kids. I'll never forgive how tragically the FL's child died the way he did. It's absolutely monstrous. And one concubine of his actually went to the cold palace to hide inoder to save herself and the child. Like WOW what an amazing emperor you are.... <<less

Well, I was so skeptical to read the third book in mistaken marriage match series that I delayed reading this one for about 2 years after completing the first two books and even read some spoilers for sequel series because of all the angst and headache that is portrayed in the book. I would say the reading was worthwhile and writing was definitely better than the first two books. Author was able to portray the heartache and angst well and readers could definitely feel for our FL.

That being the case,... more>> as others have said, this book is about the second Qing sister which was mistakenly taken to palace instead of the eldest one which the emperor wanted and thus begins the journey of her suffering and along the way manages to survive in the palace. Our FL is stubborn, cold, arrogant and very cool. Being from the ancient era, she is very cool and the strongest among the three I would say. She doesn't cower in front of power and faces everything head on. She's stubborn, fierce and intelligent with a touch of arrogance even without rebirth and transmigration etc. Readers can feel her helplessness, grief and ofcourse the injustice for her character since her other two sister's life is smooth sailing in comparison. She blames herself for the death of her sisters and their ruined appearance and is constantly trying to help her sisters which were already dead.

The ML is out an out an as*hole jerk, he is the emperor and the master of 6 nations that everything is beneath his foot and considers female as toys. The tragedy on the sisters befell just because of one 'want' of his. Still, he doesn't feel regretful or remorse that he was the cause untill the very end. Although he was seemingly redeeming himself by the end but his retribution is too little compared to the sufferings he has caused to our FL. The humiliation, mental and physical that our FL suffered is all due to him which is not enough to make up for his redemption in later part.

I truly feel that our FL would be better off alone without this jerk emperor. The second ML is just pathetic. Always engrossed in self pity and kind of feels entitled. I could not even sympathise with his situation and the part of his interaction with FL's maid was just uninteresting for me. All in all, none of the ML deserved our strong and cool FL.

Untill the very end, I couldn't bring myself to like the ML even after some of the fluffy and sweet moments just cause I felt he never thought that he did any wrong and was not regretful of his actions. The ending was a bit rushed in my opinion and many questions remained unanswered. If I could have an alternate ending then that would be for QF to live a life with any ordinary gentleman who would also cherish her dearly ditching this shitty emperor. <<less

5 stars for Qing Feng’s development and growth. And lastly a hammer to the face for the emperor or anything that can cause him suffering for what Qing Feng went through.

The previous books (A Generation of Military Counselor and Record fo Washed Grievances) became more vivid after I read this one. It was like a fill in the blanks game or reading one full story in three different perspectives. It was refreshing to say the least.

Originally, I was not going to read this story (I'm a sucker for OTP and with the emperor having a full harem I didn't see how that could happen) but after reading the previous books I got interested in Feng's character. At first she was... more>> my least favorite heroine from the series but after this book I think she's tied with Yun at first. And I think Yan Hong Tian is my favorite male lead which was quite surprising because I thought Lou Xi Yan would not be overthrown.

The pacing of this story is a bit slow for me (especially after I connected it with the other two books) but the unraveling of events was more than satisfactory.",) <<less

Well I rate this 5. Bascially for me this story is a magnet. I have literally read it more than 10 times till now. But here I am again and again. It really wrecks your heart with sadness. The ML is also not a typical ideal hero. Plus the story till the end is also not a deal ending full of love and happiness. But hey everything doesnt go perfect as we wish.

I read this novel a couple of years back. To me, this series is the best among the three. You can really feel the heart breaking pain the FL went thru. From family tragedy, palace schemes, death of her child, cruelty of the husband, forsaking her only living child to ensure his safety.... etc. This story really has it all.

The MC has a strong character and would not submit to the will of others. She is not power crazy as most women of palaces are. She coul become the empress... more>> but out love for her son, she rather gave up the throne. <<less

Last of the Mistaken Marriage 3-novels set. For late comer, better read the prequel Washed Grievances and Military Counselor to get the background.

Good novel. Good translation. Deserve 5/5 except..

The ending arc & ending chapter.

... more>> The author did badly to every of her novel. The novel, background, main characters, side characters develop beautifully until the end which almost next to summarization before sudden termination!

The weakest point of the author and (her another novels) is - lot of significant side characters sudden appear without reason and background before throwing away carelessly. For example, Empress's maid, MC's daughter.

Funniest it - The Imperial Harem does not allow any man in. But there exists the man guard that can reach the MC anytime, a few hundred paces away. Funny is he is the only one man in the whole palace.

So deserved only 4/5. Prepare you mind before jumping in to the time period of the ancient Chinese's era. <<less

If you are looking for a sign to read this, then this is it. Though if you read the other sisters book first, you might be in for a shock in here.
the MC here is the only surviving sister and has the most tragic story.

She’s strong. The strongest sister for me since she doesn’t have any special swat or transmigration golden finger whatsoever. She’s just surviving and fighting for a life well lived inside a harem full of snakes and an emperor whose downright tr*sh. (Dont worry though... more>> cause he’ll get his retribution and well, I really like him. Lol)

This is the best story for me out of all the stories. It has depth, character development and the feels will make you literally cry buckets. Like why cant she just have happiness. But well, I love her. If you like angst then go for it. Not for the faint heart. I even go back rereading this when I want to feel some pain. Lol. <<less
