I've started reading the RAWS up to chapter 64 and I believe that the game elements in this takes some time to get use to as the system advances but once you understand the novel becomes a true pleasure. The MC approaches problems with clear mind, his way of speech is probably what brings a slight bit of comedy to the novel.

Although all this is great BUT there is a huge flaw to the MC personality that is not seen at the beginning, slowly you realise that the whole transmigration... more>> barley has any use to the story. Sure at the start it's what made the new personality but after while the new owner becomes completely engrossed into the old owner past and in the end he just becomes the original owner physically and mentally.
Spoiler

The only thing the new Owner of the body brings to the story is his job as businessman

This novel is AMAZING!!! I love the good quality translation, it flows very well and u can understand what the story is trying to say. And it's probably just me but I like the novel. Plus I love it's vibe. The MC character is something I admire, even though he is OP and is very handsome, he is still kind and mature. He knows his limits and treats everyone equally. He's a smart person too. Just read the novel first few chapters and if you don't like it u can... more>> always not read it. For me, I love it. <<less

The novel is pretty good despite the dating sim system. The story is typical chinese setting where the MC is transported to an alternate earth. But the writing style is japanese like how they use "-chan", "-kun" and so on. Chapters until 11 deserves the rating but it might change in the later chapters.

It deserved to be banned in china as it was written in a complete Japanese style. Lol.

Anyway, it's fun to read, the comedy duo of chiaki and seiji specially. However, I have some personal opinions on how something's are portrayed in the novel which make me dislike it to the max.

Plus, the world is way too dark for me, the further it goes on in the novel. It makes me go on a pointless, depressing thinking spree. Hence, I give it a bad rating.

There are largely good parts and it's... more>> well written, so I decided on a rating of 3. If it wasn't banned I would have dropped it in between 400-600 chapters. <<less

Isn't too good but isn't bad too... I Just don't like how the protagonist use him power, If I'm he instead make a harem I just use the save system to have 'all routes', but the history make you think if he don't make a harem he don't will became stronger.

The MC ruined the novel by acting like a child every single f*cking time; it was acceptable once or twice but not every f*cking time, it has become insufferable.

Trust me, mates, you're better off reading Dr Seuss or anything similar rather than this novel. Just not worth it.

Edit: revisited the paragraphs because I initially wrote the review in haste without revising the grammar of it.

This story have a very big potential and its not the end..... hes not a kid.

... more>> Well that true that he could use his parameters (love detector) more but its not time yet for fck.

Why? Because they are kids for him and the blondy thrd so he think about others before himself.... thats what a true man would do with his loved ones.

So its good novel with interesting story with japan culture (onmyji, mistical.... system)

5/6 ;) <<less

Just read this novel to binge but was disappointed. I liked it very much at the start but quickly lost interest due to MC being a insufferable person. "A dating sim is about conquering different types of girls" taken from this book but the author is interested in implementing it himself. The MC also comea out yo be a paedophile and siscon. Too many female characters are introduced too early on so many times we dont know what is happening to them while MC just focuses on his sisters (adopted).

I agree completely with Curee's review... The author almost drools over the handsomeness of the MC ???

But I still give it 4.2/5 because of how innovative and creative the system really is and also how many mini stories are integrated into the main story...

Spoiler

I know there are a lot of negatives but luckily it's not like the JAPANESE LNs where the MC gets every girl he meets to BLOW him in a very graphic way... It has elements of tender emotions that are beautifully described which makes me want to read it more.... The part where the MC acts like a monk I feel like shoveing a rotten tomato down his mouth... Cannot expect much from all authors... But by far it is a very creatively written story....??

I tried to hang in there and read as much as possible in the hopes of seeing the author pick a darn genre already and stick to it, but alas that never came to be. This author's storytelling ability is at best on the level of a high school student with lots of ideas yet horrible execution. Make no mistake, the harem IS a main part of this story. In one particular chapter he has a dream/vision with hundreds of "partners". Soon later...... more>>
Spoiler

his "normal" love interests start developing super powers.... yep they are now part of the occult world as well and on their way to complete his vision...

Some people may like the fact that this story has a bit of everything, but I can only label it a half-assed shounen story reminding me of Negima, but with the author's role model of a man in every possible sense... <<less

Basically, a reincarnation/isekai story written by a Chinese author, set in an alternate version of modern Japan. At least in the beginning mostly revolves around a high school setting, with big emphasis on otaku culture and manga/anime-like story elements.

Pros:

  • calm, collected MC
  • better written than almost any Japanese light novels or web novels set in high school environment
  • fairly good storylines
  • a web novel by a Chinese author about Japan!
  • no racist bulls***t
  • many anime-like story elements are played out quite nicely
Cons:

  • somewhat irritating fixation on how people look, and how handsome the MC is
  • the progression of MC's development is rather fast
  • the game system underlying MC's progression tends to be a bit unclear
  • overemphasis on the anime-like elements
tl;dr - Get your reincarnated in anime high school kicks here.

It's a really amazing novel. Personally I recommend it. The prose itself is good and doesn't sound like the work of a 14 year old guy. It has a mature tone from my POV, which is quite surprising for a CN. The protagonist isn't a douchebag nor is he a mindless hero of justice. He just want to enjoy life and that particularly brings a fresh change of pace from the usual ATG and MGA. Concerning romance, well.... The guy is hot af, so you are bound to stumble upon... more>> some. But the way that the MC isn't a typical douche who would f*ck around with girls'hearts and all, is nice. He deals with things in a charismatic and mature way. Translation quality is pretty good, and if the translator is reading this, you have my whole thanks. The story depth is great and the characters have their own quirks. So definitely a must-read <<less

Ok I Will Update My Review A LOTT

Currently: c19

So far 4/5 (I Don't really give out 5/5)

I love the story progression and find it a bit funny how the main character is like "I better keep a low profile", but then does something high profile XDD so far its a really good slice of life novel.

and another one bites the dust. this one not only went premium at c504 but it retroactively locked all the chapters from 127 forwards so you can't even go back and read the chapters you'd read before (should you wish to). that's messed up....

original comments: 4/5

i really dislike harem novels... yet I'm still reading this one. that alone should say something about the story. the whole dating sim thing is kind of misleading as he doesn't use it to date anyone, he uses it more like the social system from... more>> the SMT series, leveling up stats like academics and grinding skills and earning special cards. Seiji is a bit like Tsukune Aono (Rosario Vampire manga series not the anime) ; he knows the females around him all like him but he chooses not make a move on any of them and pretends to be dense when they try to make a move on him.

of course, not being much of a harem fan myself, I'm far more interested in the action and mysteries involved, rather than his compulsive need to save (collect) more females. it's become as much a cultivation novel as anything else, minus the whole 'you looked at me cross-eyed so i'll destroy your family back nine generations' kind of thing. He's more concerned with saving people, growing stronger and grinding points than romance right now.

one of the things this does well is the back story of the body he took over. in most transmigration stories the bodies past bad behavior is either resolved in a few chapters or it never comes up at all. in this story, his bodies past actions have a huge and continuing impact on the MC and how others view him, especially his bodies family. it causes him a lot of complications and isn't something that's just blown off or skipped over. there are still a lot of mysteries regarding his past and why he suddenly became tr*sh in the first place, and his relationship with his sisters is very complex.

on another note, I don't really understand why he's so against using the save/reload system to help him grind cash since he implies that its possible to do so. he says its unfair to cheat but his whole game system setup is an unfair cheat and its not like it's illegal or like it's hurting anyone. it makes no sense to me. also, I sometimes think the author forgets the option is even there, we've only seen him use it a few times, always to save someones life.

and yes, he's handsome. just like in 'how a loser became prince charming' we are told so at least once every chapter and usually more than that. to the point where its irritating; he's sparkly, he's light, he's sunny, he's idol perfect, he'd unglodly handsome. we get it already. <<less

Don't beat around bushes, cut them down.

Grammar: 4.3/5

Writing: 4.2/5

... more>> Story: 3.5/5

The grammar is fairly well done, in the 76 chapters, I've only noted approximately one error per chapter. The writing is superb, I'm wondering if the translation group took liberties with the original text to make it better than the original or if the author was just that smooth with his word flow. The story while not the most original is done in a rather refreshing manner. The MC is not a sex-crazed-overly-beta-piece-of-shit-indecisive-dumbass, he's an actual adult in the body of a younger person who happened to be a sex-crazed-pig-like-piece-of-shit-rich-boy. The MC is who he is and doesn't try to hide it in order to be a better person than that of his former bodily occupant.

I would personally recommend this series, though it will not be everyone's cup-a-tea. <<less

You really cant judge book by its title

I was skeptical at first and avoid this but I kinda regret it now, compared to common xianxia then this is a step ahead in some aspect, although there is also some things that I dislike like how they keep mentioning how handsome he is in every single chapter (at least early on), and that is a bad sign to me, but all in all it was actually pretty decent read, I hope it keep getting better unlike most CN novel out there... more>> that deteriorate instead *cough ATG cough* <<less

Can't give a real rating because there's simply too few chapters out so far but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by this novel. With such a title, I expected a harem like situation which did happen though.... and a fairly bare bones storyline revolving around getting on the capture everything under the sun route. So far though, it seems to be skirting the edges of changing the genre, or at least inserting a very Chinese feel to a genre that is predominantly Japanese (in fact a large amount... more>> of character names and settings seem to imply that the author is a fan of Japanese things.... Well if the title itself wasn't enough of a giveaway.)

I especially like the idea of combining cultivation and the stats that are common in Dating Sim games, although it makes sense, it's still a fairly innovative way of connecting two cultures without disrespecting either side.

Edit: now that more chapters have been out and I think I can see a rough outline of the Author's style of writing, I'm confident in giving it at least 3.5 stars, maybe even 4. The plot develops at a very slow pace, but very few of the MC's decisions are out of character and in many ways, the way that the MC is develops is a clear change from most protagonists, the author is clearly trying really hard to turn his MC into someone who isn't one dimensional. I don't think he's fully succeeded as of yet, but I do think that the writing style of the author is something to be appreciated.

That said, again, let me cement that the plot takes a really long while to develop. Don't be discouraged if you find yourself reading all the chapters currently available and wondering why there's no central plot. There's an obvious central plot being brewed, but not fully realized as of yet. Whether the payoff is worth it is something that needs to be explored as and when it occurs, but for right now. I'm very happy with the way the novel is developing. <<less

Let me first start off by saying that, if the title is what drew you to read this book, take it with a grain of salt. Although it claims the main character is a NEET, the MC gets a Full Time Job in the second chapter, and if that isn't enough, he goes back to school before the amount of chapters gets into the double digits, making this title extremely inappropriate for this story. And if you just take a look at the first few entries on the Table of... more>> Contents, it is clear that the author doesn't mean to make the character anything like a NEET, although he is an Otaku, which is a fairly common trait when writing NEET characters, but I digress.

My problems with the lack of a NEET aside, the story does seem to be fairly good. It is revealed that the MC has some unique bloodline in addition to the Dating System, which makes one wonder if his growth in physical aspects is a result of the bloodline, the system, or a combination of both of them, though I don't expect this to be revealed in the near future. If I had to say one problem I had, It would be that the landlady, who had an overwhelmingly bad outlook on the MC before he had the system, was seriously willing about having s*x with him before 10 chapters, despite the fact that her daughter is in love with him, a fact that she knows. However, I can accept this to be a result of the bloodline and Dating System. <<less

If you enjoy reading shojo, then this novel is clearly for you, first because it is really a conversion from a manga (2D, as the author likes to say) into writing, and second, because it's a story about feeling between characters. The author is also good to transcribe feelings into words, so coupled with a good quality of translation, the reading is easy and feels nice.

The system cheat is really not OP in the way that the author spend more time writing about relationship between characters than about the MC... more>> farming using his system. Which is what you can expect from the type of system the MC have, but which is also a con for me as I whould have liked the author to write more about the stats/grind of the MC.

With the "Action", "Adventure", "Fantasy", "Martial Art" and "Supernatual" labels in the description for the novel, I was expecting much more "action", and much less "Slice of Life", because what you need to be aware is that most of these tags, only represent 5% of the story so far. Which is the reason I dropped this novel after 180 chapters: the pace is super slow, and once you've understand how the system/MC works, you've seen it all. <<less

You should read this novel

I personally really enjoy this novel and this is one of my first reviews for a novel. This novel simply inspired me to write a review about it because I enjoy it so much even though it is dropped. The story is nice and the characters are pretty fleshed out, such as this one character who (in other novels) would have been typical arrogant young master tr*sh due to him loving the MCs love interest, but in this novel he actually has a redemption and... more>> its done really well. This novel has so much "soul" and it shows. Its truly a shame it is dropped, I would have loved to see this in anime form (I feel like this would be an absolute godlike anime if done well) but I'm still satisfied with what I'm reading.

IN CONCLUSION

IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE ABOUT READING THIS JUST GIVE IT A GO, ITS WORTH IT. <<less
