Trapped in This Boring Room!

When I woke up, I was in a pure white room.

There was only one machine in it, and that PC’s display had these words:

【You cannot leave this room unless you rank first on the novel posting site, “Let’s Write a Novel”】

And so began this story of me being trapped in this room with nothing in it, the story of my hellish daily life of posting novels.

This is a short story 12 chapters long. It's written by the author who wrote Mushoku Tensei, though it's a different style, and most certainly not isekai. Funny thing is, the author's novel was at 1st place when this work was written. (Slime tensei took the title after its anime was released)

Imagine you're trapped in a room. No reason given. You're just there, inexplicably, and you have to write your way out, surpassing even long-standing novels that have been out for a decade. You only have 1 year to... more>> do so.

It isn't easy. In fact, it seems impossible for it to be accomplished. Without cheating, that is. This is the story of a man driven insane by captivity and what it took for him to get out of the room.

I encourage you to read 'til the end, because it's worth it. <<less

The novel is very entertaining to me since I can relate to his struggles of an author. His slow, gradual crawl into insanity as he loops over and over again writing thousands of words for thousands of days.

This is a great novel. With only 12 chapters there are still many changes and plot twists ending with a great message.

I recommend that you don't stop reading it and get to the end of it before you form an opinion on this novel.

This is really inspiring to writers as it mentions writer's block, the process of shaping a story and characters...

Lowkey that's my dream, to be in a white empty room for seemingly an eternity, completely out of the normal flow of time, all for being forced to do a singular task forever and ever and ever, until I perfect it
