It feels very half-assed. A little bit of planning early on would have served this novel very well. If it didn't also do some really cool stuff, I'd have dropped it within 20 chapters. The lazy tone and inattention to detail, both minor and major, are just really aggravating. The author even brings up, multiple times, not knowing where the story is going. He apologizes for changing backstories but not for retconning fundamental world building principles. Apparently, he had a poll for if the novel's ending would be harem or... more>> not. Relationships between his characters isn't something integral to the experience but a reward for not dropping it. Up until the mid-100s, it was still a pretty good read, but the more I read, the more distracted I get. TLDR: It's worth starting, probably not worth finishing <<less

Its a good read overall the reason why I gave it 4 starts instead of five is because there are moments which annoyed and the beginning is kinda rough and sometimes plot armor is used Objectively speaking a 3 or 2.5 would have been better for this novel however I gave it based on my level of enjoyment Have a nice day

The author knows his job. Recommended. It's a good read with a little bit of a cringe.

Spoiler

I mean I wouldn't accept the elf girl as a wife because the reason why she likes the protagonist is she has a tendency to hook up with promising and good looking heroes nothing else.

This story has a Strong start but a very weak finish. This is the second story I have read by this author, it too had started with a roar and ended with a whimper. In both series the Big Bad is swept away without a proper climax and a "next stage" is suggested, not to mention that both the endings just felt rushed and plot threads are just left unfinished. I mean over all the stories weren't bad but they leave you sorely disappointed at what could have been but... more>> wasn't. <<less

Hmm, let's see here.
How do I rate this? Well, I will rate it based on each group of chapters.
For example, from chapter 0 to chapter 100, the novel was good, from chapter 101 to chapter 200, the novel became a typical power-up, get-stronger, beat-asses, from chapter 201 till the end, it just became utter confusion, the fights keep repeating, the same type of attacks get used every fight, no creativity, time-skips, the fights that last long only show the beginning and end of the fight, total bullshit~
The... more>> same things kept repeating over and over again, not only that, but the ending is hastened, a sequel could be written due to the ending, however, I don't think the author actually wrote a sequel.
Anyways, I suggest you read it if you have nothing to read but don't get your hopes up.

Also, holy shit, what the hell is wrong with the author, suddenly during a certain phase, the chapters' length spiked up so hard, at least 8000 characters/chapter.

I give this 3/5, not even 3.5, but 3... <<less

Listen... I tried. I just don't like how the MC is a brainless rock at the start, and even if he changes, the novel's first-person point of view doesn't really give me a whole picture like other good novels do. It's not fun reading a novel where the MC is written like a mental health patient writing a diary. Saying something like - 'I ate a rock.' Not for me, but you can try it out if you want.

Finally going back to get a sense of ToyCar's roots, with this other young lad, who has cultivated into a muscle-brained spearman. In what feels like 2 stories running parallel, with the bulk of it spent following the MC climbing a 100-Floor dungeon to represent Earth/S. Korea; and of to the side, monsters are now spawning on Earth, leaving it to new ability users to sort sh*t out.

Although both plot lines are incredibly simple (before the final villain's reveal, where I just tuned out), the character interactions are what make... more>> it fun. Like the rarely seen father and son bonding. It's a shame that the author's penchant for "thirsty b*tches" makes the harem fairly tiresome. <<less

Rating 5/5. As I have fully read all the chapters of the story, from introduction till the end I can say it's a wonderful story. The story is about the MC getting stronger in a dungeon. The story is a slow paced one but still their are a lot of laughs and jokes in the early chapters of the story, and as for the romance it's wonderfully developed with a lot of character development I to each character. (Well it still ended in the harem route.

As for those who are... more>> planning to read the story it might be wonderful if you like slow paced stories.

Spoiler

Ps. Ending of the story was a cliff T.T (wasn't able to see the marriage part, author ended the story as where you want to finally watch the hero get married.

I've read this novel a few years ago but I dropped it. I recently began rereading it again from chapter 1 cause why was curious why I decided to drop it since I'm a big fan of EER.

Soooo.. I regret my decision. What I like about the author is that he is creative in terms of world building and his power system development. However characters are mostly one dimensional. Toika said in his author note that the novel isn't harem but all the girls just magically fall for the MC.... more>> Like it's not enough that they like MC, they even force themselves upon him. MC has a sister, even the sister is the same which is disgusting.

They novel is not harem but most of the chapters deal with MC's interaction with one dimensional girls. At some point reading just became a chore. Just get on with the plot. After some chapters I'm dropping it again for the last time. <<less

Started off really nice and funny but I had to drag myself to read the last 20+ chapters or so. Ending was also rushed. Other than that, it was a decent read and I actually enjoyed it more than I Reincarnated for Nothing.

At 255 right now, will update if and when I finish. So far? 4.0 but I am extremely easy to please. I just like novels that will pass the time and have an enjoyable story. This is no titan like Overgeared, The Second Coming of Gluttony (or Avarice), the list goes on. If you picked your favorite story, this won't stack up with that. That being said, I think that it has been worth the read so far. An annoyingly dense protagonist who will most likely end up marrying all... more>> of the females in his harem who continuously fight over him (to which he acknowledges but pleads innocence.) In terms of power, it's interesting and I wouldn't say original but not annoying.

I am simple. A protagonist who starts out or becomes overpowered with enough chapters for me to binge read. If that sounds up your alley, give it a shot. <<less

The story was interesting, the worldbuilding was good, but the ending was so rushed it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

It was at least fifty chapters short of what it should have been and the last two chapters compressed most of that.

The characters were okay. A few stood out slightly, but nothing really outstanding. All in all, I enjoyed it until the last 10-20 chapters, but the ending brought it down to ☆☆☆ and killed my mood

I don't have enough enthusiasm (positive or negative) to go into further detail... more>> except for the incorrect and extreme overuse of the word 'retort' (used instead of every instance of respond). Whether that's the fault of the translator, or the author, I have no clue. <<less

Having read it from start to finish I liked the overall storyline. My only exceptions is of course how dense the MC can be with regards to the harem and how ending began to form a wash, rinse, repeat feel.

For now I think that this novel is a good read for a selective group of reader as this although not much in my opinion has certain similarities with EER, though I like this one better as although the MC is OP not OP to the extent that it's annoying as it's not an instant OP like EER (I stopped reading EER around the middle since I couldn't take it anymore)..

The story is pretty much relaxed & kinda smooth sailing for the MC but since I already expected it since... more>> I've read a few reviews before reading this so all was within my expectation except that it was actually a good read. My suggestion is to read this without any expectation so you won't be disappointed.

Now what I like about this is the MC. The MC here is quite different as that he started as a muscle-brained martial artist all until he started inputting stat point into his intelligence, also although he has a high INT it was explained that his brain is still "updating" so you don't need to expect him to have genius like actions. Also unlike EER I could see how the MC here grows from zero to hero.

Spoiler

Right now I don't know if there is a reason why the MC became a Hero but who cares why he is chosen at the beginning, it may eventually be revealed or not but is it really that important? In my opinion what the MC's attitude by being hero is more important. At the start the MC's action maybe be called a little cold if seen from a different perspective, but really I think it's logical, there are monsters appearing everywhere you don't know why this is happening although you can hunt them there are a lot of people who are a lot stronger than you so why bother helping killing monster that don't bother you instead the most logical action is to train in the dungeon. But later it was revealed that the appearing monsters have a lot to do with him so some people who don't take time to think why will think he had a sudden turn in personality, if someone told you that monsters/dungeons will appear in large scale in the near future who are outright trying to kill you who would be s*upid enough to just wait for them to grow in numbers, MC might be strong or maybe even OP in his world but he is still one person with limited MP/mana.

[collapse]

The although the MC is dense he is not dense to the point that he won't know what the other parties feeling if they convey it straight to the point. And I think he is not a scum since the girls that confessed to him IIRC were rejected by the MC although the author seems to want the MC to have a harem since they won't give up. I won't go into details about the harem the MC is making since quite honestly I've already expected it since like I said I've read some reviews about how quick the girls are falling for the MC (which was explained that it's because of his charm stat he couldn't control at the start).

The story is pretty simple MC is a dungeon explorer that can train in a different dimension dungeon. He learns about things why monsters start invading his world bit by bit. He grinds boss for stat equips & bonuses. When MC is strong enough it's time for him to confront earth ability users. Then back to grinding in the dungeon after resolving problems back in his world. Mostly are rinse & repeat but the story is mostly progressing faster & faster as he climb the dungeon.

So far I quite like this novel (although I don't know for sure since I've only read about half of the story) so for now it's 3.5-4/5.

P.S. There are a lot of japanese references so those who don't read any JP anime/manga may not get some jokes or "tsukkomi" <<less

Korean novel, which automatically means less bullsh*t and garbage filler compared to CN novels. It's a fun story, but some of the characters are annoying (his sister & ludia), which is probably what the author intended, but still lowers my enjoyment, so 4 stars.

I would go with 3.8 but 4 stars would do.

Interesting but really repetitive. I don't really like harem romance either, since they seem really shallow.

I kind of skipped over the last few battle descriptions and got to the point but unfortunately, the majority of the story are battle descriptions so it would suck if I had to keep doing that..
