The childhood capture targets are annoying but that's just their character flaws moving on Villain Days is differentiates itself from other novels in the same category with the MC not changing into a different person once the memory regained. It's more like the MC reverted back (in the eyes of the capture targets mainly the childhood friends) to his initial state. An introvert.

The reality however is that MC is now being seen for who he really is without his actions being warped. Though naturally people still get the wrong idea... more>> or still believed in the rumors about MC despite that he already has his support group.

There are R18 scenes that are most likely won't be in your taste if you closely examine the psychology stuff behind it but hopefully as the story goes on the flag for R18 scenes won't be disturbing (in a sense).

Villain Days is recommended for people into BL, it has a good plot, a good characterization that makes them more human (not necessarily the good ones but still human) and MC's situation pulls on the heart strings (though that maybe just me who's weak to soft-hearted characters trying their best) <<less

If you have a spare time and have got nothing to do then try reading this if you want to since its a quick read. The translator does a really good job, they are really into their work and you can feel their dedication for this novel, but sadly, this novel does not have anything remarkable to it regarding both characters and plot which is a bit disappointing for me. It has a strong starts with the MC struggles between distancing himself from the story and his feelings for the... more>> characters (even if it had many clichés) so I kinda wish the story was more about that and how the characters react to it, but since it's tagged as harem smut, it focuses on that instead of the plot and characters, which was quite a shame. There isn't much s*x scenes just a lot of kissing mostly and the actual s*x isn't that satisfying/great for most people, the ending is also a bit disappointing.

Spoiler

Everyone falls in love with MC pretty easily, the main love interest doesn't know his own feelings as he disliked MC in the past, but now he says he loves him yet he keeps ditching MC for everyone else to take care of him and then say 'MC is mine'. MC is also really s*upid as he runs into danger and doesn't take most characters advice. The MC is.... how should I put this nicely? MC.... he just does things with everyone. For instance, he kisses everyone like it's no big deal and sleeps around but in the end acts like it didn't happen or it's normal. (but it is a harem smut so I guess that's maybe why?)

In the end of the story, it has no ML as they all are happy to be his friends but still want to sleep with him and only have him for themselves (Friends with benefits kinda, but come on, how you gonna say you are happy to be his friend, but also want to have him only for yourself?!). It was real disappointing that MC didn't end up with anyone, but oh well.

[collapse]

Basically, I wouldn't really recommend this story, but I guess if you want a quick read and don't care much about the plot or characters, then this novel is fit for you.
Spoiler

Ps. Give some love to the translator of this story since they are A M A Z I N G

If you have a spare time and have got nothing to do then you should go ahead and try reading this if you want to. This story do not have anything remarkable to it regarding both characters and plot. I have read a lot of similar stories in the past where the MC is just so pitiable and weak that everyone seems to helplessly fall in love with him. The MC literally let anyone f*ck him like wtf is going one. That's not normal ok. This is a harem story... more>> but I feel like it was not executed properly There are too many of these love affairs that sometimes some of these characters went missing for lots of chapters. And they are supposed to be part of the main characters. If you want to read a good Harem novel then you guys should try True Star. That one is good. This one is just too childish and it kinda felt like their love will not last because of how shallow it is. Overall, I had fun reading it just to see who the MC end up with and one thing for sure is that I will not repeat this story. Lastly, Team Genbu all the way~ <<less

I can't even began to understand why he love Hiroto, he transmigrated, so there is no reason. Also, he kept being "bullied" and bullied by everyone around him and act like he has zero personality. I'm sorry but for a spoiled young master deeply love by his father, after his transmigrated, seeing that the previous body owner, lived like this, why not transfer school. As a new person, he has no attachement to any of those characters who cause the previous owner death, why not just remove himself from the situation. It's the summum of foolishness and ridiculousness

In the end, Yuu doesn't 'choose' anyone 'cause he's scared of the crazy jealousy described in the novel overtaking him?? Ehhh lame : (

[collapse]

Even though it was hard to follow, I'm super grateful for the translator's efforts in editing with MTL. I think above that, the writing itself has some flaws. Characters come and go with little significance and their actions are confusing (What happened to that Public Morals guy who was intro'd as Yuu's 'bodyguard' but never appeared again? Not to mention so many other insignificant side characters). The plotline wasn't very unique or interesting, and nothing much happens overall. The multiple POV was sometimes interesting.

Hiroto had some great potential as a yandere from some of his earlier lines, but he also became insignificant and disappointingly didn't really... do anything. Only Airu and Byakko made any impact in my memory, I also thought they were most suitable for Yuu.

Yuu himself... is really strange. Why is he so loose? (; ̄ー ̄川 He has no issues or sense of cognitive dissonance at having transmigrated into a BL novel and goes around smooching everyone.

I was excited at having the usual 'transmigrated into an otome game and have to avoid raising death flags' trope being reinvented in BL format, but the execution was sub-expectations. <<less

Dropped at ch32. I should've dropped this earlier tbh. Poor storytelling + unclear plotline. I'm supposed to be halfway through the story but all I registered is that everyone french kissed the MC but no decent reaction or followup lol. Pure smut novels are better than this.

Bad. Really really bad. The translator is quite decemt, it's the story problem. The shou is too Mary Sue. He is so dumb and s*upid and all he can do is cry and enjoy ***. The worst transgramitor ever in bl history. I thought GMW was bad enough, until I read this. I don't mean the shou has to be OP like the one from FOD, but PLEASE PLEASE AT LEAST HAVE SOME BRAIN LA!!! I can't even understand why everyone is so obsessed with him, maybe because he would... more>> let anyone have *** with him? Or maybe he is too dumb that it is easy to bully him? I am really disappointed with this novel. I don't even know why I dragged myself to the end. Maybe because I've tolerated so much and only some chapters left? The writer wants to show the Gongs OP and smart but I mean, they can't even take care of one pest. All they do is bully shou, regret when shou got hurt and keep track of shou, and wait for the troublemakers to hurt shou.
Spoiler

Why couldn't they just take care of trouble maker directly? There is not even many enemies, just one, and all the shou (5people plus their backgrounds) couldn't take care of it.

If I was the shou, I would be so disappointed that I can die another time just to escape these s*upid characters. All in all, the writer tried to write MOE character but ended up with all the characters lacking brain. <<less

I just... I couldn't. I'm a big fan of cheesy stories, I know, it's shameful. But this was just absurd. MC was such a limp doormat, he spreads his legs for all his buddies when they get in the mood. He resists, but no one really listens, and he just totally forgives the thing afterwards. Everyone just kisses or touches him regardless of TPO and it's totally fine w him. Example:

I was actually really excited for this story, since the premise sounded interesting. But seriously, it feels like it was written by a 13-yo. Everyone is very quickly helplessly in love w our Mary Sue, drama is unnecessarily angst-y, MC is a doormat.

If you don't take this story too seriously, I guess it's fine. It just gets really boring as well, and if you go for PG-18 it's not all that great either. <<less

Translator did well, the story itself... sigh.

Sigh, it's like a novel suitable to counterattack in those quick transmigration novels because of how it seems from others opinions... it's easy to assume that Yuu is just flirting with everyone instead of everyone actually wanting a piece of him.

It felt a bit confusing at times with disconnected moments and bits and pieces happening... I guess it's because the reader is mostly seeing things from mc's pov.
So it ends with ambiguous relationship with everyone and MC and it makes me feel like... more>> it's just friends with benefits so it's kinda meh.

I don't care if it's a harem but in this case it's almost like it's uncomfortable because he's just going along with whatever they want, there seems to be a lack of desire for them from his end... not sure if I'm wording this well.

Kind of like they all want him but he doesn't really want them but he doesn't reject them and let them have their way.

In most harems I've read, the at least the person who is the target of said harem likes them back enough to desire them too by the end... in this case MC is too lacking in that part for me to feel this is a harem instead of just friends with benefits. <<less

the MC forgetting about his feelings for the initial main love interest and going for another guy

[collapse]
but in the end it just ended off in a frustrating end that made you question you mc’s decisions.

Spoiler

I’m sort of relieved that in the end the MC chose no one because the way the plot functioned was due to the actions of Love interest 1, yet the MC continuously had interactions with all the other love interests except for love interest 1 due to the antagonist and love interest 1’s ignorance.

Honestly it would’ve been a great idea to just pair him off with Genbu, he did the most work in taking care of the MC (helping him from bullying, rescuing him from kidnapping, aiding in his mental health recovery from when he was bullied) compared to the others. But in the end, the MC was just like ‘you’re a great guy but the childhood friend who’s been causing me all this angst and the source of all of problems is likely a better person’. It didn’t go like that but that was how it went in a nutshell. And it didn’t even matter cause the MC chose no one in the end!

Not only that, it was specifically mentioned that the males of the Genbu family will fall madly in love with who they believe is their destined one no matter what their destined one thinks of them; and since the MC chose no one in the end, we can only assume Genbu would just be suffering with his love.

As for the initial love interest? The childhood friend that caused all of his angst and source of all his problems? This dude struggled in trying to constantly convey his feelings towards the MC and turns out, he has to hestitate when the MC asked him ‘Do you really love me?’

[collapse]

if you’re looking for a sort of doormat MC with minimal plot and a harem of men, I think this would be it; the translations are decent and it took me maybe only 3-4hrs to read the entire thing. <<less

[original comment.

written around ch 23]

I'm laughing so hard. This is soo bad it's good? Like. This is the kind of tr*sh you read if you don't want to use your brain.

MC is transmigrated into the body of an otome game villain. He loses a huge chunk of memory at first, but he regains them (signalled by headache + flashback + fainting combo) whenever he meets significant characters.

Original villain is said to be this b*tchy obssessive guy, but a series of interwoven discoveries show how he isn't just that, and that he has significant history with the love interests. And I guess, you kinda get how he morphed into a sad, sad, tragic villain whereas he was described once by the love interests as "angel" when they wherr kids since he just happens to be their childhood friend. In the original plotline, he's driven to commit su*cide... I think. It was mentioned somewhere.

Everyone falls in love with the MC here. Also, s*x is treated very casually? And MC can do no wrong!

This might end up being a huge waste of your time, yeah. But entertaining read. Like, if you have nothing better to do or you're procrastinating big time. Plus, translations are just about to be done hehe.

Ngl tho. Once I finish this, I probably wont think about this ever again. <<less

I don't really get this story. It lacks common sense and emotion. I don't get the way that the uke is so innocent letting random stranger kiss him like it was normal. After he and the seme have s*x he just forgive him because he didn't know his name so wtf. I tried reading further, I already reach chapter 20 but there is still no character development whatsoever.

I like all the character tropes and the smut and all but just the MC I can’t stand. I would even prefer Snake-san over the MC. The MC is a very big hypocrite. He first is scared of the skinship between his childhood doggies but after like 1 second after meeting them, he acts casual to the point he’d do them. And don’t even say it’s r*pe on the doggies’ part since the MC DID hug them back and didn’t resist strongly, tacitly agreeing to it. He easily forgives and... more>> smiles at everything. He takes everything and that makes him to be very weak and a huge idiot. How he met with the other characters is also ridiculous. They just fall in love with him the moment they sees him smile. Not just in love, theyre infatuated, all yanderes to some degree. Calling them “Yuu’s infatuated fanatic protection squad” is no exaggeration. Everyone’s mental anguish is also really dumb. They know all the rumors are bs, they know who did it, and they know why he did it but never really puts a definite end to it but instead comes running to comfort Yuu after he’s already hurt. Also, all of it just really boils down to Hiroto. Instead of saying something and doing something significant, he goes and seduces the mastermind. Like why the f*ck would u do that for? It has no point. Honestly, it seems Hiroto has the highest possibility of being the ML and this is really disappointing. I think Genbu Airu is the best candidate and Byakko Teruki is best man. Genbu has the right amount of charm and doesn’t miss too much of attention and shows his love in the best way out of all the characters except Teruki. Some possible mls are glossed over too like Mizuki (which now turns into just a background wingman) and Kenshin. Kenshin literally disappears from the story for a while even though he’s supposed to be inportant. Also the story skips a lot of things that can be expanded upon like it mentioned Yuu’s redenvouzes with Kenshin after kendo club and I never recall it mentioning it ever again. I’m like when did this happen? More details please! Replay the scene! I think Snake-san is much more of a developed character compared to the MC. He’s strong willed, determined, and knows how to mask his face and use his head. While the MC just blush, smile, faints, and cries. Arghh the amount of crying he does for the slightest amount of reason can flood a whole stadium. He’s also very rash and reacts in a very unnatural way. When Snake-san called Yuu and led him by nose, I was like u believed that bs? I can tell it’s a lie from the very first word! All the mls are really frustrating me (except Genbu) since all they ever do is stress how Yuu is so important and how they want to protect him while not actually making that come true, oh and except Teruki. The pace is unstable, the povs unreliable, the story forced. Worst of all, it doesn’t even describe the s*x scenes properly. The most is just mentioning kissing and some forplay and skips the rest so the reader can imagine the rest. It’s a smut for f*cks sake, give me some penetration! At this point, the mc’s character is fading out and all I can see him do is cry and blush under anybody’s touch. I’m actually more attracted to Snake-san and his story. The mls are just making me roll my eyes, except Teruki and Genbu. Yuu doesn’t deserve Teruki or Genbu, just Hiroto, he can have Hiroto. Teruki’s too sacrificial and Genbu is too perfect for him. Nevertheless, I hope Genbu gets his happiness. Everyone else can f*ck off. <<less

I think it's interesting because the protagonist of this story gives us information we/he never had about the novel/game he was brought into (or gained access to the plot) which makes his character (the villain) a VERY tragic one. Used, abused, misunderstood, desperate for connections to past friends, reputation utterly destroyed, turned dark through impotent rage at the injustice of everything, and ultimately su*cide (?). And it was ALL a plot by a very twisted f*ck who was jealous of this kid (villain) since middle school because of the closeness... more>> of his relationship with the LI character.

And just one event, changes EVERYTHING.

Honestly, the LI just ticks me off. Especially, who he was in the original storyline and how f*cking oblivious he was and how he used/abused the villain. I don't think he deserves the HEA it looks like he is going to get...

But it is interesting how his character changed and through him the entire story and all because of an accident and jealously (amnesia? you forgot me? oh hell no bit*h you mine). Also, the s*x thing through me for a loop. I never expected the villain and him to have that type of relationship. I thought it was one-sided based on what the main protagonist knew about the original storyline. Even the story had a lying narrator who hid a sh*t tone of information.

LI is also, technically, the savior of the villain as well as the executioner and cause of his greatest heartache and his demise (original storyline).

The overall uniqueness of the twist on the villain's past relationship with the LI makes this worthwhile to read even if the tropes and stereotypicalness of the storyline can be seen from miles away.

And the last 5 chapters kind of undos everything that made it interesting. There is no resolution, no character growth, no choices made about whom to love vs just having lots of s*x with. It feels like the author gave up or couldn't decide who to pick so it just sort of ended with a lackluster tying up of major plots. That's it. <<less
