This is a pretty typical edgy revenge story (MC got betrayed hard, got some power that enables him to do revenge, does revenge) with a LOT, I mean a LOT of s*x (not detailed, but still).

MC is OP, kills a lot (if the target 'warrants' it), r*pes a lot, and basically view the world as his playground and other people as objects, things to be used and admired at best, obstacles that get way in his fun at worst.

If that sounds interesting, great, you're gonna enjoy this.

I, however, take amus**ent... more>> some kind of strange irony in his morally bankrupt actions. If you ever read Franken Fran, there's a story where a hero is corrupted by way of taking pleasure in revenge. He actually deliberately not-quite-betray his friends (by leaking their base for example) and then scream to vow revenge in ecstasy after seeing the aftermath.

The MC in this is like that. When he befriends someone, he thinks "wow, this person is pretty nice, I would have to take revenge if this person is killed." And lo and behold, the enemy who he knows have a high chance to kill that friend in the first place kills him, he thinks "Unforgivableee, how dare you kill my friend. Now you warrants revenge from me." I don't know whether this level of over the top bankrupt morality is intentional or not but I sure as hell amused by it <<less

It seemed like a nice premise except that the author started to add additional game mechanics to, I dunno, make the MC less OP or something. Then the author makes the MC into a bit of an a**hole.

It's one thing to f*ck with a villain, but at least let him make a kill switch or something so that he can actually kill her if necessary, and then, later, he actually haremizes a character that isnt an antagonist for no reason, its one thing to show someone ugly truths and a... more>> whole other thing entirely to mindr*pe them after that anyways when they WONT be your enemy anymore, especially since he's acting as if he's supposed to be a good guy.

Basically, inconsistent, or non-extant character building. <<less

Well, I have some ideas on this novel even though I have only read the other works like Elf Tensei and Maou-sama without actually knowing that they are from the same author, the plot as of now is rather straight forward and easy to follow, it is easy to incite hate and if logic follows then it is soon that we will have a kemonomimi girl in the harem. For revenge I hope it will not be like Tate no Yuusha, and it probably will not as seen from his... more>> other works. <<less

First of the "Three Amigos" of Revenge.

------------------

Honestly, I don't understand why some of the reviewers are so harsh with this LN, what are you reading here is pretty clear; a story about revenge, r*pe, corruption, manipulation and violence, if you don't like it go read some escapism fantasy story with a pu*sy and simpleton MC, there's a lot of stories like this on this site for white knight readers, instead of talking sh*t from this one just because of the first 4 volumes.

The story starts as the plot of a... more>> Dark Fansaty manga like Berserk or Violence Jack, but soon the story turns into Rance Hikari o Motomete, I believe is because the MC needs power and reliable companions who he can manipulate, but after the start of volume 5 and the arrival of the "main villain" the story gets better.

Spoiler

I like the way that Bullet f*cked all the plans to Kearuga until the final fight with him, sure, he's too OP with an annoying personality, but he did a good job balancing the power level to the Kirby Rance and his OP harem. And I like the way that the author use to Ellen, she's well written since volume 6 to onwards.

[collapse]

The harem girls barely has personality, except for Eve, Ellen and Guren. Freya, Kureha and Setsuna are puppets with some moments that shows some of lucidity, but that's all.

What I liked the most about this story is the MC and his goal, which changed as the story progressed, but nevertheless, in essence it remains the same, only that it includes his harem in it. The way in which he passes through on top of the others, laughs at them and facing everyone who gets in his way gives this story good points. I like proactive characters instead of the ones who received everything and do nothing, and the character development in Kearuga was also good.

It's a good LN, not the best one i've been read it, but it's entertaining and decent for this type of stories. <<less

If you're here you probably watched the anime, looked for the light novel, found there was no translation and settled for the web novel.

In any case, I'm here to tell you this is a pretty good series, at least in my opinion. If you disliked the anime, you'll probably dislike this as well, but if you liked it, then I think you'll enjoy this.

Since this story is narrated in a first person view, it's interesting to look into the minds of Keyaru and all the other characters. If you think... more>> this is just revenge p*rn, I'd suggest you give the story a read before jumping to conclusions.

Here's to hoping one day the light novel will get a translation, but until then, I'll be following this. Also, this has references to some of the author's other works, so maybe check those out as well. <<less

Every character is fantastically messed up, not some side characters though.

When the MC 'loses' someone he cares about in front of him, he doesn't even think of healing them; he just thinks of them as already dead. He's obviously a wannabe smart guy.

The story's power balance is kind of weird, too.

for those of you who want to read it go ahead I started reading it around the time it first came out, and have just started reading it again, and I know that they have recently revised some previous chapters and had toned down the s*x scenes a bit like at the end of volume one with setsuna in the forest or the scene with flare in chapter 11 there was originally more but they some what censored it but it still gives you enough to know what happened.

All and... more>> all I still like this novel even if its censored, cause s*x scenes don't always make a story but in this case I have to say they just add a bit of flavor on a good revenge story.

But like I wrote earlier they leave enough so you can get the gist of what went down, I heard but haven't confirmed that they have kept most of the scenes in the manga.

Also on another note I do not mean that there aren't any s*x scenes, there just toned downed a bit compared to the original release. <<less

this novel is actually good at the beginning. However, when the story reaches the arc of the Demon Land, it get off track. To be precise, the previous revenge plot was good, yet it seems it just to short. As for the time the story off track, it seems that arc was indeed feel too forceful, in other words, that arc was unrelated to MC main story yet the author just shove it to the MC as for extension and he acts as a problem solver.

As for the MC himself,... more>> the person was actually mentally broken and he achieve his revenge targets. However, personally, the MC regretfully spared one of the targets which is the loli princess into his harem which appear the question why does he spare her when the MC was actually on Hate and Revenge mode towards her ? He should get rid of her. She becomes annoying through out the story. <<less

Sort of good, sort of bad. There are interesting developments but I'm not a fan of the MC or the way he does things. He's incredibly slimy and his (frequently s*upid) reasons for doing things can be pretty annoying. You get situations where he refuses to do x on general principle, but he's willing to do y, which is even worse, just to comply with x. And there's no reason why has to do x in the first place.

For example, he refuses to pre-emptively go after his enemies because they... more>> haven't wronged him yet. He needs to give himself an "excuse" to act against them. But he'll happily do things that are worse to get the excuse. There's a point where he finds someone to befriend specifically so that they can get mu*dered and he can have a tragic reason to strike back. This scheme is even more ridiculous when you consider the fact that he's already enemies with the revenge target and he doesn't need some flimsy excuse to act. It's stuff like that that drags the story down.

EDIT: And yeah, like bkwrm said, the point system he comes up with is pretty jarring and he does awful things to people who haven't harmed him enough to justify that level of revenge. <<less

The tamest R18+ I have ever read, beyond some descriptions of unpleasant stuff the MC is going to do during the actual act, nothing is ever described. It's one line saying they did it.

Here's an example:

Spoiler

Setsuna talks in an enthusiastic voice with a bit of uneasiness mixed in. It is early in the morning right now, so we were doing our daily morning routine.

“Sorry, it’s a bit boorish to think about another woman while we’re in the middle of our daily routine. I’ll just think about you right now.” (MC)

At least while we are doing our daily routine, I’ll only look at Setsuna. As expected, it’s quite impolite. Once I started only thinking about Setsuna and did my best to love her, she became pleased.

[collapse]

Where's the fun in that? I'll keep reading it to find out if things do actually improve according to all the tags but if you're reading it for the r18 tag and all the others like that, as of v3c7 (chapter 50ish), It's terrible, don't waste the time as the rest of the story is maybe 2/5 at best. <<less

This is a bit of a weird one. Your first impression from the summary and early chapters is that it's a dark revenge story (which it is), but as you read further the villains get more exaggeratedly evil and MC derives delight in delving out some heavy revenge that it starts to feel more like a dark comedy. The most glaring thing to me is how 'cheat', overpowered or even ridiculous MC's skills are, but as he uses them creatively, I can overlook it. Supporting characters are adequately fleshed out.... more>> It's fun to read how MC strategizes and takes down opponents above his level. The story flows well and keeps you interested. All in all, if you don't take it too seriously, it's a worthwhile read.

EDIT:

Update at v5ch15 - Still a fun read. Not the best characterization/ world building, but the author has a way of keeping the story fresh and moving forward briskly while keeping you interested. <<less

Not terrible, and it's rather nice that the MC has a bunch of s*x and isn't a pansy with his revenge. The first volume was really good actually and parts I read through the rest were great as well. His retribution is actually really well done.

But at the same time about midway through the 2nd volume the MC develops an extremely childish "point system" to determine how much revenge he can do against people. And he loves setting bait and traps and using any excuse he can to rack... more>> up points and his childish pleasure about the whole business was rather annoying. Just felt like a cruel kids game instead of a betrayed and broken hero. And now it feels like half his revenges are excuses to experiment with his homemade aphrodisiac monster maker, leading to pretty brutal "revenges" against people that just happened to build up points and aren't really targets.

And him mentally proclaiming to himself to be a good person and hero constantly is getting on my nerves. Which I get, the MC is straight up insane, but it still is annoying seeing it constantly.

Also his lies to all the girls in his little group are just weak. It just offends me seeing how little truth he mixes in, and how easily he will be caught out with his lies eventually, partly because he tells everyone a different freaking lie. I mean he feels very much like a pathological liar at this point where I'm like why did you lie about this? There was no need.

TLDR not a terrible story, but the MC kinda kills it. And the author (not translator) constantly has minor screwups and forgets things he himself set. <<less

I'm giving it a 4.0 purely because I enjoyed up to a certain point, but then dropped it due to a lack of interest. I lost interest because of the main character's mindset and the translation style or the author's narrative style. You would think I'd drop it lower, but I don't want to peg down a story that is at least worth a try for other readers. Some will like it and some won't. I grew out of it because the mindset is/was sort of toxic, and if I... more>> recall correctly there were some grammar mistakes or lack of terminology consistency.

I forgot how far I read up to in terms of the volume, but I can recall where I left off which is when

The story is different from other yet using many templates. And filled with the very same mistakes most authors make with these stories. So it is above average.

Most people say it is stange healers get treated like tr*sh and complain about why he none can change time like the hero healer did. But it was made clear the healing of the hero was of a higher lvl. And elixer is not that diffucult to get so normal healers are pretty much obselete in that world. The healer is crazy, his... more>> mind is broken. He is a f*cking psycopath. It is obvious his actions would reflect that.

Its not a bad novel, it is just not good. <<less

A rare dark genre light novel.

This kind of genre is very rare because some dark light novel might not pass some censoring in some site.

The MC is hero healer. He is looked down upon by his party. His revenge is pretty good like nidome yuusha but more worse. But when he healed the world, he reverse the time? Its mean the world is hurting because time flow ?

This conflict is really unexplainable. But this is a novel, such a thing can sometimes forgiven.

It is fun to read but annoying as the Author himself is inconstant with the story (I don't know if the Author fix the old chapters but at least there was never a TL note to mentions any of the changes if the Author even made them), which ruin the reading. he will write something on a chapter then a few chapter later he change it, then he may change it back

Spoiler

The MC is crazy and crocked, this was caused due to the horrific treatment he received in the previous world, before he reset the world itself.

His goal is to get revenge on those who harmed him at first world, so he only acts to get revenge, but later he started to need to have a reason to get revenge, then he started forcing them to accumulate revenge point so he can get revenge.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Here is some of the annoying inconstant

I will not mention the ones from early where he was still making talent system but at least below from the middle of the story

1- He was saying the hero of magic has control of all attribute, then he changed it later to Fire, Water, Wind, Earth

2- He introduced composed magic, be combining Ice and Wind to send bullet because except combination magic you can't use Ice to attack, but in later chapters, she can do that without combination

3- He should be able to use only normal recovery heal the memories of Target, but in last chapters he did that with his other heals

4- There was never a mention of storage magic or an infinite bag, or how they carry their items, but as they never carried their items around when Traveling and he said he save ingredient to increase the talent point of his future companion, you can assume he has infinite storage with that point. The fun parts, his luggage got stolen at one point in the middle of the story.....

5- One of the companions was totally forgetting on the last battle with the demon king. Even when an area attack that could cause a huge damage, he totally forget she was in the room.

6- In one chapter, he mentioned EVE changed appearance after contracting with the bird, then changed it that her appearance change because her village was attacked and she used the bird for the first time. He even made it, that her appearance change every time she used the bird.

7- Eve said she can use deity summon 4 or 5 more times but that will be her limit as she will die, in the later chapter. it because 2, then she will lose herself on 3rd time and die on 4th

8- While MC like to display the statue especially for his group, one of his Party status was never shown, but he said her level and Talent, the problem is, she shouldnt have a class yet as she still 13 years old. So basically, he still doesn't know what to do with her, most likely the Author plans on making her hero but he still not sure which Hero she should be.

Its quite entertaining to see MC trying to justify killing other people by leading them to kill his 'friends' who he just met. If you want to read a JP novel without facepalming every 5 secs or a dense MC give it a shot. Its great for a JP hero novel.

While the premise look promising. From the middle to now is.... meh. it went from mind breaking revenge story to a typical japanese harem hentai story.... with lots of one dimentional characters. I think the MC so called revenge become secondary to the hentais (s*x scenes) and harems of gurls he is getting which I have to say- have gotten very repetitive.

This are proven further by the MC falling in love with flare-- the shitty princess which was his supposed enemy that he need to torture and kill.

From 3 heroes... more>> that he swore revenge on. Hero blade has died by his hand, hero bullet is soon to be, but he seem very lenient toward flare (magician hero)... maybe coz she is a princess and they scr*wed or smth. <<less
