Now that I finally found the bravery to read the mtl I can review the whole novel.

The open ending wasn't disappointing because the whole novel was driven by the desire of the MC to battle and improve himself.

The novel is a mix of leveling up like in a game and the discovery of the MC's talent, so there are both slow and really fast arcs, but it has a tendency towards the latter.

... more>> Overall the novel is great.

In the great words of NOVEllUPdATE: This is one of the few novels I actually enjoyed the full ride. It isn't exceptional nor unique, but the consistency throughout the story was the best I've ever read on NU (and I read a LOT of them). Try the first few chapters, and if you enjoy them, you're almost guaranteed to enjoy the rest of the novel.

In my words, it's a 4/5 for all its aspects (characters, world building,...), but is not outstanding in any of them, even then, I would give it a 5/5: even great novels like LoM, which have great world building or character development, can have a great defiency in an aspect (which this novel doesn't have, as I just said). <<less

The protagonist is dull, insipid, without any personality. Even the MC is 2d so you can imagine how the rest will be. Please don't read it if you don't want to be annoyed. It's very frustrating so it would be better if you pick up some other series.

Readers! Think of titel and synopsis like this: Max level in the old world -> newbie in the new continent.

Max level in old world -> became newbie in the new world. Therefor, "Max level newbie" because there is a higher level limit in next realm/world. But honestly, the writer of this novel knows how to write, but fails at titel. This is how I have interpreted it.

Now for this novel. I will make it short, I actually enjoyed it. Its the usual main character transferred to another world with gaming... more>> system. There is a goal, there is a story, novel is not milked and filled with bunch of fillers. It is not too much of a ultra-nationalistic novel.

A recommended read. <<less

Good but the story don't push to be one of the best. Litrpg that focus more on level than skill and mastery. Repetitive fight with many boom badaboum.

Spoiler

Plot hole: Like the player that had raised their level to 99 without death didn't even raise their mastery.

Ps: Play any game to max level without a death and you are an hardcore and know the majority of the game.

At the start, it make sense that he is op because of his mastery but at the late game, he should not have that mutch of an advantage.

The plot is okay but the MC is just way too brainless. He can't think of anything other than leveling up, and never doubts anything that anyone tells him. He never bothers asking around for information about the world he's in and basically just lets people use him as a weapon.

Romance: none

Dropped because I couldn't stand reading all the s*upid decisions being made.

Well... it started off really interesting and it was a refreshing novel compared to other Korean novels. However, the story quality dropped like mad in the last 30 chapters, followed by an obviously rushed ending. Kinda sad that a novel with 5 star quality had to be like this.

An interesting idea; what if after you fully cleared a game like world (normal mode), you were then taken to another world (hell mode) where everyone like you ended up, lifting the previous level cap of 99 to much higher. And everyone else has been there longer. Problem is, in practice as you read, it just feels tiring and dragged out.

I just can't relate to the MC. We're given an MC at endgame, where they have all this power and many skills, but we were there for none of the... more>> gathering of this. The journey towards the end is the best part, and it feels like there's a missing beginning or foundation to all this that we normally get to enjoy.

Also, I find it dumb that he made no friends, had no connection to the first game world worth mentioning despite being there for 5 years (yeah, this stunned me). Sure, he seems humble enough, but that is honestly the only plus point. All of it just feels bland.

A world filled with Uber powerful beings, 5 to 10 times as strong as the MC, with an impossible setting no one has cleared yet despite being so strong, is smothering and too large a hurdle right at the start.

Maybe there is some flashback later, point is that 5% (10/201) into the plot, I don't care. Like I said, an interesting idea, but not presented well. <<less

The idea is good but poor execution. And I feels like every encounter of the MC is a bit forced. And sometimes when there something that the MC would like to learn it did not really explain how the MC was able learn or to do it, just said that the MC was able to do/learn it. For example the voiceless activation of the skill. It just said that after practicing he was able to do it. It did not really says how did he practise it or how MC... more>> able to learn it.

In my opinion this one is only good for passing time if there is nothing really to do. <<less

This is real good.

I registered just for rating this novel and another one.

The MC is actually kindhearted, yet not foolish. That's really fresh take on a hero. I am sick of all those twisted ones nowadays. (Especially when the author makes them more twisted every time he does not know how to make the story itself progress and displays that even as "character progress" -> even 12 years old could write "character progress" like that)
The point is that the MC here has believable background and personality for his... more>> unyielding willpower.
(Always wondering how the usual MCs have their supernatural amount of willpower out of the blue)

The world-building is also very complex, yet easy to understand. It is really original.

The downside for me here is that players can become "gods" (and hey, I think that's over the top). I just dislike extremes, you see. <<less
